< Isaia 47 >
1 Mialà, ka mipetraha amin’ ny vovoka, ry Babylona, zanakavavy virijina! Mipetraha eo amin’ ny tany, fa tsy amin’ ny seza fiandrianana, ry Kaldea zanakavavy! Fa tsy hatao hoe vehivavy malemilemy sy mihantahanta intsony ianao.
“Go down and sit in the dust, O Virgin Daughter of Babylon. Sit on the ground without a throne, O Daughter of Chaldea! For you will no longer be called tender or delicate.
2 Alao ny vato fikosoham-bary, ka kosohy ny koba; esory ny fisalobonanao, akaro ny moron-tongotr’ akanjonao; aoka hiseho ny fenao, ka miroboha mita ny ony.
Take millstones and grind flour; remove your veil; strip off your skirt, bare your thigh, and wade through the streams.
3 Hiseho ny fitanjahanao, eny, ho hita ny fahamenaranao; hitondra famaliana Aho ka tsy hiantra olona.
Your nakedness will be uncovered and your shame will be exposed. I will take vengeance; I will spare no one.”
4 Ny anaran’ ny Mpanavotra anay dia Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, Iray Masin’ ny Isiraely.
Our Redeemer—the LORD of Hosts is His name— is the Holy One of Israel.
5 Mipetraha mangingina, ka midìra ao amin’ ny maizina, ry Kaldea zanakavavy! Fa tsy hatao hoe Tompovavin’ ny fanjakana intsony ianao.
“Sit in silence and go into darkness, O Daughter of Chaldea. For you will no longer be called the queen of kingdoms.
6 Tezitra tamin’ ny oloko Aho; navelako holotoina ny lovako, ka natolotro ho eo an-tananao izy, tsy mba namindranao fo izy, fa na dia ny antitra aza dia nasianao zioga mavesatra dia mavesatra.
I was angry with My people; I profaned My heritage, and I placed them under your control. You showed them no mercy; even on the elderly you laid a most heavy yoke.
7 Ary hoy ianao: Ho tompovavy mandrakizay Aho; ka dia tsy nandatsaka am-po izany zavatra izany ianao, na nitsapa izay hiafarany.
You said, ‘I will be queen forever.’ You did not take these things to heart or consider their outcome.
8 Koa mihainoa, ianao izay mihantahanta sady mipetraka tsy manana ahiahy ka manao anakampo hoe: Izaho no izy, ary tsy misy hafa; tsy hipetraka ho mpitondratena aho, na hahita fahafoanan’ anaka.
So now hear this, O lover of luxury who sits securely, who says to herself, ‘I am, and there is none besides me. I will never be a widow or know the loss of children.’
9 Kanjo hanjo anao tampoka amin’ ny indray andro monja ireto zavatra roa ireto, dia ny fahafoanan’ anaka sy ny fananoan-tena; Hotanterahina aminao avokoa izany, na dia maro aza ny fankatovanao, ary na dia be dia be aza ny odinao.
These two things will overtake you in a moment, in a single day: loss of children, and widowhood. They will come upon you in full measure, in spite of your many sorceries and the potency of your spells.
10 Fa nitoky tamin’ ny faharatsianao ianao ka nanao hoe: Tsy misy mahita ahy. Ny fahendrenao sy ny fahalalanao dia nampivily anao, ka dia nanao anakampo ianao hoe: Izaho no izy, fa tsy misy afa-tsy izaho.
You were secure in your wickedness; you said, ‘No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and knowledge led you astray; you told yourself, ‘I am, and there is none besides me.’
11 Kanjo hanjo anao ny fahoriana, nefa tsy ho fantatrao izay fanafany; Ary hahazo anao ny loza, nefa tsy ho hainao ny fanàlany; eny, hanjo anao tampoka ny fandringanana izay tsy ampoizinao.
But disaster will come upon you; you will not know how to charm it away. A calamity will befall you that you will be unable to ward off. Devastation will happen to you suddenly and unexpectedly.
12 Arosoy ary ny odinao sy ny hamaroan’ ny fankatovanao, izay efa nisasaranao hatry ny fony ianao mbola kely; Angamba hahavita izay mahasoa ianao; angamba ho tonga mahatahotra ianao.
So take your stand with your spells and with your many sorceries, with which you have wearied yourself from your youth. Perhaps you will succeed; perhaps you will inspire terror!
13 Sasatra noho ny hamaroan’ ny fisainanao ianao; aoka hitsangana ankehitriny ireo mpamantatra ny lanitra sy mpandinika ny kintana ireo hamonjy anao, dia ireo mpanambara isaky ny tsinam-bolana izay zavatra ho tonga aminao.
You are wearied by your many counselors; let them come forward now and save you— your astrologers who observe the stars, who monthly predict your fate.
14 Indro, fa ho tahaka ny vodivary ireo; ho main’ ny afo izy ka tsy hahavonjy ny tenany amin’ ny herin’ ny lelafo akory; tsy misy vainafo hamindroana, na afo hitaninana aza.
Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame. There will be no coals to warm them or fire to sit beside.
15 Ho toy izany aminao ireo efa nisasaranao ireo, dia ireo nifampivarotra taminao hatry ny fony ianao mbola kely; samy hipariaka mandositra ho any amin’ ny fonenany avy izy, ka tsy hisy hahavonjy anao.
This is what they are to you— those with whom you have labored and traded from youth— each one strays in his own direction; not one of them can save you.
