Isaia 41
1 Mangìna hihaino ahy ianareo, ry nosy, ary aoka handroso hery ny firenena; Aoka hanatona izy, ka dia hiteny; Andeha isika hifanatona eo amin’ ny fitsarana.
Be silent [and hearken] unto me, O ye Coastlands, And let the Races of Men renew their strength, —Let them approach, then, let them speak, Together, for controversy, let us draw near: —
2 Iza no nanaitra avy any atsinanana ilay nomban’ ny fahamarinana tamin’ ny diany rehetra, ary nanolotra ny firenena ho eo anatrehany, ka nampanapahiny ireo mpanjaka izy? Iza no nanao ny sabany ho tahaka ny vovoka, ary ny tsipìkany ho tahaka ny vodivary voapaoka?
Who roused up one from the East, In righteousness, called him to his feet, —Set before him nations And over kings, caused him to rule, His sword, made [them] like dust, His bow like driven chaff:
3 Mipaoka ireo izy ka mandroso soa aman-tsara any amin’ izay lalana tsy mbola nodiavin’ ny tongony.
He pursued them passed along safely, —Upon the path of his own feet, entered he not?
4 Iza moa no nanao sy nahavita izany, sady miantso ny taranaka maro hatramin’ ny taloha? Izaho Jehovah no voalohany, ary hatramin’ ny farany dia mbola Izaho ihany no Izy.
Who hath wrought and performed, Calling the generations, in advance? I, Yahweh, [who am] First, And with them who are last, I, am the Same!
5 Ny nosy nahita ka raiki-tahotra; Toran-kovitra ny vazan-tany dia nanatona izy ka tonga.
Coastlands have seen, so they fear, The ends of the earth, are in dread, —They have drawn near, and have come:
6 Samy nanampy ny namany avy izy rehetra, ary samy nilaza tamin’ ny rahalahiny avy hoe: Matokia.
Every man, to his neighbour, giveth help, —And to his brother, saith Take courage!
7 Koa ny mpandrafitra dia nampahery ny mpanefy volamena, ary izay nandama tamin’ ny tantanana nampahery izay nively teo amin’ ny riandriana, ka hoy izy, miantso ny solohoto: Tsara ity, dia nohomboany mafy tamin’ ny hombo izy mba tsy hihozongozona.
So, the carver, hath encouraged, the goldsmith, he that maketh smooth with the hammer, him that smiteth the anvil, —Saying of the welding, It is, good, Then hath he fastened it with nails—it must not totter!
8 Fa ianao kosa, ry Isiraely mpanompoko, sy Jakoba, izay nofidiko, Taranak’ i Abrahama sakaizako,
But, thou, Israel, my Servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, —The seed of Abraham my loving one;
9 Hianao izay efa notantanako avy tany amin’ ny faran’ ny tany ary nantsoiko avy tany an-tsisiny ka nilazako hoe: Mpanompoko ianao, Efa nofidiko ka tsy mba nariako:
Thou whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, And from the extremities thereof, have called thee, —And said to thee, My Servant, thou! I have chosen thee and not cast thee off,
10 Aza matahotra ianao, fa momba anao Aho; Ary aza miherikerika foana, fa Izaho no Andriamanitrao; Mampahery anao Aho sady mamonjy anao; Eny, mitantana anao amin’ ny tanana ankavanan’ ny fahamarinako Aho.
Do not fear, for with thee, I am! Look not around, for, I, am thy God, —I have emboldened thee, Yea I have helped thee, Yea I have upheld thee with my righteous right-hand.
11 Indro, ho menatra sy hangaihay izay rehetra tezitra aminao, ho tsinontsinona izy; Eny, ho levona izay miady aminao.
Lo! they shall turn pale and be ashamed—All they who have been incensed against thee, —They shall become as nothing and perish—The men who have been thine accusers:
12 Hotadiavinao izay mifanditra aminao, fa tsy ho hitanao, ary ho tahaka ny tsinontsinona sy ny zava-poana izay miady aminao.
Thou shalt seek them, but shalt not find them—The men who have contended with thee, They shall become as nothing, and as a thing of nought—The men who have warred against thee;
13 Fa Izaho Jehovah Andriamanitrao no mitantana ny tananao ankavanana, dia ilay manao aminao hoe: Aza matahotra, Izaho no hamonjy anao.
For I, Yahweh thy God am firmly grasping thy right-hand, —Who am saying unto thee Do not fear! I, have become thy helper!
14 Aza matahotra ianao, ry Jakoba kankana, dia ianareo, ry Isiraely olom-bitsy, Izaho no hamonjy anao, hoy Jehovah, Ary ny Iray Masin’ ny Isiraely no Mpanavotra anao.
Do not fear, Thou worm Jacob, Ye men of Israel, —I, have become thy helper, Declareth Yahweh, And thy redeemer The Holy One of Israel.
15 Indro, ataoko kodia vy vaovao misy nify maranitra ianao; Hively ny tendrombohitra ianao ka hanorotoro azy ho vovoka ary hanao ny havoana ho tahaka ny akofa.
Lo! I have made of thee a new pointed threshing sledge, owning teeth, —Thou shalt thresh mountains and crush them, And, hills—like chaff, shalt thou make:
16 Hikororoka azy ianao, ka hopaohin’ ny rivotra izy, ary ny tafio-drivotra hanely azy; Fa ianao kosa dia hiravoravo amin’ i Jehovah, ary ny Iray Masin’ ny Isiraely no ho reharehanao.
Thou shalt fan them and, a wind, shall carry them away, And, a whirlwind, scatter, them, —But, thou, shalt exult in Yahweh, And, in the Holy One of Israel, shalt thou boast thyself.
17 Ny ory sy ny malahelo mitady rano, fa tsy mahita, ary ny lelany mainan’ ny hetaheta; Izaho Jehovah no hihaino azy, Izaho, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, tsy hahafoy azy;
As for the oppressed and the needy. Seeking water when there is none, Their tongue with thirst being parched I—Yahweh, will answer them, The God of Israel, I will not forsake them:
18 Hampiboika renirano ao amin’ ny tendrombohitra mangadihady Aho ary loharano ao amin’ ny lohasaha; Hanao ny efitra ho farihy Aho ary ny tany karankaina no loharano miboiboika.
I will open, On bare hills rivers, and In the midst of plains, fountains, —I will make The desert, a lake of water, and Parched land, springs of water;
19 Hampaniry hazo sedera sy akasia sy rotra ary oliva any an-efitra Aho ary kypreso sy pina sy bokso eny an-tani-hay,
I will set in the desert! Cedar, acacia, and myrtle, and oil-tree, —I will place, in the waste plain, Cypress, holm-oak, and sherbin-cedar, together
20 Mba ho hitany sy ho fantany sy hoheveriny ary ho azony an-tsaina fa ny tànan’ i Jehovah no nanao izany, ary ny Iray Masin’ ny Isiraely no nahary izany.
That men may see and observe and consider and understand at once, That, the hand of Yahweh, hath done this, That the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
21 Alaharo eto ny teninareo, hoy Jehovah; Asehoy izay mahamarina ny anareo, hoy ny Mpanjakan’ i Jakoba.
Bring near your contention, Saith Yahweh, —Advance your defences, Saith the King of Jacob:
22 Aoka hampanatoniny ka hasehony amintsika izay zavatra mbola ho avy; Ambarao izay zavatra taloha, mba hoheverinay ka ho fantatray izay hiafarany, na ilazao izay zavatra ho avy izahay.
Let them advance them, and tell us, What shall happen, —Things known in advance—what they were, tell ye, That we may lay them to our heart and mark the after-story of them, Or, things yet to come, let us hear:
23 Ambarao anay izay zavatra ho avy rahatrizay, mba ho fantatray fa andriamanitra ianareo; Eny, manaova soa, na manaova ratsy, mba hitaha isika, ka samy hahita.
Tell ye the events which shall be here-after, That we may perceive that gods, ye are, —Surely ye must do something—good or bad, That we may be amazed and behold it, at once.
24 Indro, ianareo dia naman’ ny tsinontsinona, ary ny asanareo dia naman’ ny zava-poana; vetaveta izay mifidy anareo.
Lo! ye, are, of nought, And your work is a puff of breath, —An abomination, he that chooseth you!
25 Nanaitra ny anankiray avy tany avaratra Aho, ka tonga izy. Dia ny anankiray avy any amin’ ny fiposahan’ ny masoandro, izay hiantso ny anarako, ary hanosihosy ny mpanapaka tahaka ny fanosihosy feta izy, ary tahaka ny mpanefy vilany mihosy tanimanga.
I have roused up one from the North, and he hath come, From the rising of the sun, calleth he on my Name, —And he hath come, on deputies, as though they were mortar, And as a potter treadeth clay.
26 Iza no nitory izany hatramin’ ny voalohany, mba ho fantatray? Ary hatry ny fony taloha, mba hataonay hoe: Marina? Tsy nisy nanambara, eny, tsy nisy nitory; Ary tsy nisy nandre ny teninareo.
Who hath told in advance, that we might know, And beforetime, that we might say Right! Nay, there is none who can tell. Nay, there is none who can let us hear, Nay, there is none who can understand what ye utter.
27 Izaho no voalohany Izay milaza amin’ i Ziona hoe: Indreo, indreo izy, sady manome mpitondra teny soa mahafaly ho an’ i Jerosalema.
He who is First, [can say], To Zion, Lo! there they are! And to Jerusalem, A herald of good-tidings, do I give.
28 Dia nijery Aho, kanjo tsy nisy olona, eny, nojereko ireny kanjo tsy nisy mpanolo-tsaina hamaly Ahy, raha manontany azy Aho.
So I look, And there is not, a Man! Even among these And there is none to advise, —That, when I ask them, can answer a word.
29 Indro, zava-poana avokoa izy rehetra; Tsinontsinona ny asany; Rivotra sy zava-poana ny sampiny an-idina.
Lo! as to all of them, Vanity—nothingness, are their works, Wind and emptiness, their molten images!
