< Isaia 37 >

1 Ary raha nandre izany Hezekia mpanjaka, dia nandriatra ny fitafiany izy sady nitafy lamba fisaonana ka lasa niditra tao an-tranon’ i Jehovah,
And it came to pass, when King Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, —and covered himself with sackcloth, and entered the house of Yahweh;
2 ary izy naniraka an’ i Eliakima, lehiben’ ny tao an-dapa, sy Sebna mpanoratra ary ny lohan’ ny mpisorona, samy nitafy lamba fisaonana avokoa, hankany amin’ Isaia mpaminany, zanak’ i Amoza,
and sent Eliakim who was over the household and Shebna the scribe and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, —unto Isaiah the prophet, Son of Amoz;
3 ary nanao taminy hoe: Izao no lazain’ i Hezekia: Andro fahoriana sy famaizana ary fanalam-baraka ity andro ity; fa mby ao am-piterahana ny zaza, nefa tsy misy hery hiterahana azy.
and they said unto him, Thus, saith Hezekiah, A day of distress and rebuke and reviling, is this day, —For children are come to the birth, and, strength, is there none to bring forth.
4 Angamba ho ren’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ny tenin-dRabsake, izay nirahin’ ny mpanjakan’ i Asyria tompony hihaika an’ Andriamanitra velona, ka mba hovaliany izy noho ny teny izay efa ren’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao; koa aingao ny fivavakao hamonjy izay mbola sisa.
It may be, that Yahweh thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh whom the king of Assyria his lord, hath sent to reproach a Living God, and will rebuke the words which Yahweh thy God hath heard, —Wherefore lift thou up a prayer, for the remnant that remaineth.
5 Dia nankany amin’ Isaia ny mpanompon’ i Hezekia mpanjaka.
So the servants of King Hezekiah came unto Isaiah.
6 Ary hoy Isaia taminy: Ambarao amin’ ny tomponareo hoe: Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah: Aza matahotra ny teny efa renao, dia izay nanompan’ iretsy ankizilahin’ ny mpanjakan’ i Asyria iretsy Ahy.
And Isaiah said unto them, Thus, shall ye, surely say, unto your lord, —Thus, saith Yahweh—Be not thou afraid because of the words which thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have reviled, Me.
7 Fa, indro, Izaho efa hanisy fanahy ao anatiny, ary hahare siosio izy, ka hiverina ho any amin’ ny taniny; dia hataoko lavon-tsabatra any an-taniny izy.
Behold me! about to let go against him a blast of alarm, and when he heareth the report, then will he return to his own country, —and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
8 Dia niverina Rabsake ka nankany Libna, izay nataon’ ny mpanjakan’ i Asyria fahirano tamin’ izay; satria efa reny fa efa niala tany Lakisy ny mpanjaka.
So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria, warring against Libnah, —for he had heard, that he had broken up from Lachish.
9 Ary ren’ i Sankeriba ny amin’ i Tiraka, mpanjakan’ i Etiopia, nanao hoe: Avy hiady aminao izy; ary nony nandre izany izy, dia naniraka olona ho any amin’ i Hezekia nanao hoe:
And he heard it reported concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, saying, He hath come forth to fight with thee, —so when he heard it, he sent messengers unto Hezekiah, saying:
10 Izao no holazainareo amin’ i Hezekia, mpanjakan’ ny Joda: Aza mety hofitahin’ ny Andriamanitrao Izay itokianao ianao hoe: Jerosalema tsy hatolotra eo an-tànan’ ny mpanjakan’ i Asyria.
Thus, shall ye surely speak unto Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom, thou, art trusting, beguile thee, saying, —Jerusalem, shall not be given over, into the hand of the king of Assyria.
11 Indro, ianao efa nandre izay nataon’ ireo mpanjakan’ i Asyria tamin’ ny tany rehetra, dia ny nandravany azy; ka ianao kosa va no ho voavonjy?
Lo! thou, thyself, hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the lands in devoting them to destruction, —and shalt, thou, be delivered?
12 Moa nahavonjy azy va ireo andriamanitry ny firenena noravan’ ny razako, dia Gozana sy Harana sy Razefa ary ny taranak’ i Edena izay tao Telasara?
Did the gods of the nations, deliver them, whom my fathers destroyed, —Gozan, and Haran, —and Rezeph, and the sons of Eden, who were in Telassar?
13 Aiza ny mpanjakan’ i Hamata sy ny mpanjakan’ i Arpada sy ny mpanjakan’ ny tanàna Sefarvaima sy Hena ary Iva?
Where are the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, —of Hena, and Ivvah?
14 Dia noraisin’ i Hezekia tamin’ ny tanan’ ny iraka ny taratasy ka novakiny, dia niakatra nankao an-tranon’ i Jehovah izy ka namelatra iny teo anatrehan’ i Jehovah.
And, when Hezekiah had received the letter at the hand of the messengers, and had read it, then went he up to the house of Yahweh, and Hezekiah spread it out, before Yahweh.
15 Ary Hezekia nivavaka tamin’ i Jehovah nanao hoe:
And Hezekiah prayed unto Yahweh saying:
16 Ry Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro ô, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, Izay mipetraka amin’ ny kerobima, Hianao dia Hianao ihany no Andriamanitry ny fanjakana rehetra ambonin’ ny tany; Hianao no nanao ny lanitra sy ny tany.
O Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel—inhabiting the cherubim, Thou thyself, art GOD, even thou alone, for all the kingdoms of the earth: Thou, didst make the heavens and the earth.
17 Atongilano ny sofinao, Jehovah ô, ka mihainoa; ahirato ny masonao, Jehovah ô, ka mijere; ary mihainoa ny teny rehetra izay nampitondrain’ i Sankeriba hihaika an’ Andriamanitra velona.
Bow down, O Yahweh, thine ear—and hear, Open, O Yahweh, thine eyes—and see, —Yea hear thou all the words of Sennacherib, who hath sent—to reproach a Living God.
18 Jehovah ô, marina ihany tokoa fa ireo mpanjakan’ i Asyria dia efa nandrava ny firenena rehetra sy ny taniny
Of a truth, O Yahweh, —the kings of Assyria have devoted to destruction all the countries, and their land;
19 ary efa nanary ny andriamaniny tao anaty afo, satria tsy Andriamanitra ireny, fa asan’ ny tànan’ olona ihany, dia hazo sy vato, ka dia azony nosimbana.
and have put their gods in the fire, —for, no-gods, were they, but the work of the hands of men wood and stone and so they destroyed them.
20 Koa ankehitriny, Jehovah Andriamanitray ô, vonjeo amin’ ny tànany izahay, mba hahafantaran’ ny fanjakana rehetra ambonin’ ny tany fa Hianao ry ihany no Jehovah.
Now, therefore, O Yahweh our God, save us, out of his hand, —That all the kingdoms of the earth, may know, That, thou, art Yahweh, thou alone.
21 Ary Isaia, zanak’ i Amoza, dia naniraka hankany amin’ i Hezekia nanao hoe: Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely: Ny amin’ ilay fitarainana nataonao tamiko ny amin’ i Sankeriba, mpanjakan’ i Asyria,
Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent unto Hezekiah saying, —Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, In that thou hast prayed unto me concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria,
22 dia izao no teny nolazain’ i Jehovah ny amin’ i Sankeriba: Manao tsinontsinona sy mandatsalatsa anao Ziona, zanakavavy virijina; Mihifikifi-doha mahita anao mandositra Jerosalema zanakavavy.
this, is the word which Yahweh hath spoken concerning him, —The virgin daughter of Zion, laugheth thee to scorn—mocketh thee, The daughter of Jerusalem after thee doth wag her head,
23 Fa iza no nohaikainao sy nompanao? Ary hanohitra an’ iza no nanandratanao ny feonao sy nampiandrandranao ny masonao any ambony? Hanohitra ny Iray Masin’ ny Isiraely.
Whom, hast thou reproached and insulted? And, against whom, hast thou lifted high thy voice? Yea thou hast proudly raised thine eyes, against the Holy One of Israel.
24 Ny mpanomponao no nihaikanao ny Tompo hoe: Tamin’ ny kalesiko maro no niakarako tany an-tampon’ ny tendrombohitra, tao afovoan’ i Libanona; Ary hokapaiko ny sedera avo sy ny kypreso voafantina, dia hiditra any amin’ ny faran’ ny azo iakarana ao aho sy any amin’ ny alany midokadoka,
Through thy servants, thou hast reproached My Lord and hast said, —With my multitude of chariots, have I ascended The height of the mountains The recesses of Lebanon, That I may cut down Its tallest cedars Its choicest firs, That I may enter Its highest summit, Its thick garden forest:
25 Izaho no nihady ka nisotro rano, Ary ny faladiako no handritako ny lahin-drano rehetra any Egypta.
I, have digged, and drunk waters, —That I may dry up, with the soles of my feet, all the Nile-streams of Egypt.
26 Tsy mbola renao va, hoy Jehovah, fa hatry ny fony ela no nanomanako izany, ary hatramin’ ny andro taloha no nikasako izany? Ankehitriny dia efa nahatanteraka izany Aho ka dia nandrava tanàna mimanda ho tonga korontam-bato.
Hast thou not heard—That, long ago, that, is what I appointed, And from days of old, devised? Now, have I brought it to pass, That thou mightest Serve to lay waste, in desolate ruins, fortified cities;
27 Ary efa tsy nahatohitra ny mponina any, sady raiki-tahotra no nangaihay. Efa tahaka ny ahitra any an-tsaha izy, ary tahaka ny ahi-maitso sy ny ahitra eo amin’ ny tampon-trano. Ary tahaka ny vary maty raha vao mitsiry.
And their inhabitants, being powerless, were overthrown and put to shame—They became—Grass of the field and Young herbage, Grass on housetops, and Seed parched before it came up.
28 Fa samy fantatro avokoa ny ipetrahanao sy ny ivoahanao sy ny idiranao ary ny fahatezeranao amiko.
Howbeit, thine abode and thy coming out and thy going in, I know, —and thy raging against me.
29 Satria efa tezitra amiko ianao, ary efa tonga ato an-tsofiko ny fireharehanao, dia hasiako ny masom-biko ny oronao ary hasiako ny lamboridiko ny vavanao, ary hampivereniko amin’ ny lalana izay nihavianao ianao.
Because, thy raging against me, and thy contempt, have come up into mine ears, Therefore will I put My ring in thy nose, and My bit in thy lips, And will turn thee back, by the way by which thou camest.
30 Ary izao no ho famantarana ho anao kosa: Hihinana ny maniry ho azy amin’ ity taona ity ianareo; ary amin’ ny taona manaraka dia ny kolokolon’ izany, fa amin’ ny taona fahatelo kosa dia mamafaza ianareo, ka mijinjà, ary manaova tanim-boaloboka, ka mihinàna izay vokatra eo.
And, this unto thee, is the sign, Eating this year, the growth of scattered seeds, And in the second year, that which shooteth up of itself, —Then in the third year, Sow ye—and reap, and Plant ye vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof.
31 Ary izay sisa amin’ ny taranak’ i Joda dia mbola hamaka lalindalina kokoa sady hisondrotra hamoa.
Then shall the escaped of the house of Judah that remain, again, Take root downward, —And bear fruit upward.
32 Fa hisy sisa hiseho avy any Jerosalema sy sisa afaka avy any an-tendrombohitra Ziona ny fahasaro-piaron’ i Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, no hanao izany.
For, out of Jerusalem, shall come forth a remnant, And that which hath escaped, out of Mount Zion, —the jealousy of Yahweh of hosts, will perform, this.
33 Koa izao no lazain’ i Jehovah ny amin’ ny mpanjakan’ i Asyria: Tsy ho tafiditra amin’ ity tanàna ity izy, na handefa zana-tsipìka ho ato, na hitondra ampinga eo anoloany, na hanandratra tovon-tany hamelezany azy.
Therefore, thus, saith Yahweh, concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not enter this city, Nor shoot there, an arrow, —Nor attack it with shield, Nor cast up against it a mound:
34 Ny lalana izay nihaviany ihany no hiverenany, fa tsy ho tafiditra amin’ ity tanàna ity izy, hoy Jehovah.
By the way that he Came in, By the Same, shall he return, —And into this city, shall he not enter, Declareth Yahweh.
35 Fa hiaro ity tanàna ity Aho ka hamonjy azy noho ny amin’ ny tenako sy Davida mpanompoko.
Thus will I throw a covering over this city to save it, —For mine own sake, And for the sake of David my servant.
36 Dia avy Ilay Anjelin’ i Jehovah ka namely olona dimy arivo amby valo alina sy iray hetsy tao an-tobin’ ny Asyriana; ary nony maraina koa vao nifoha olona, dia hita fa, indreo, efa maty avokoa ireo.
Then went forth the messenger of Yahweh, and smote—in the camp of the Assyrians—a hundred and eighty-five thousand, —and when men arose early in the morning, lo! they were all, dead bodies!
37 Dia niainga Sankeriba, mpanjakan’ i Asyria, ka lasa nody ary nitoetra tany Ninive.
So Sennacherib the king of Assyria brake up, and went his way, and returned, —and remained in Nineveh.
38 Ary raha niankohoka tao an-tranon’ i Nisroka andriamaniny izy, dia nokapain’ i Adrameleka sy Sarezera zananilahy ny sabatra izy; ary dia afaka nandositra ho any amin’ ny tany Ararata izy mirahalahy; ary Esara-hadona zananilahy no nanjaka nandimby azy.
And it came to pass, as he was bowing down in the house of Nisroch his god, that, Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons, smote him with the sword, howbeit, they, escaped into the land of Ararat, —and, Esarhaddon his son, reigned, in his stead.
