Hosea 8
1 Ataovy eo am-bavanao ny anjomara! Fa hisy toy ny voromahery hipaoka ny tranon’ i Jehovah, satria efa nivadika ny fanekeko sy nandika ny lalàko ireo.
Set the trumpet to thy mouth: he shall come as an eagle against the House of the Lord, because they haue transgressed my couenant, and trespassed against my Lawe.
2 Izaho dia hitarainany hoe: Andriamanitro ô, izahay Isiraely mahalala Anao.
Israel shall crie vnto me, My God, we know thee.
3 Ataon’ ny Isiraely ho zavatra maharikoriko ny soa; Ny fahavalo no hanenjika azy.
Israel hath cast off ye thing that is good: the enemie shall pursue him.
4 Ireny dia nanangana mpanjaka nefa tsy avy tamiko; Nifidy mpanapaka izy, nefa tsy fantatro; Ny volafotsiny sy ny volamenany no nataony sampiny mba hamongorana azy.
They haue set vp a King, but not by me: they haue made princes, and I knew it not: of their siluer and their gold haue they made them idoles: therefore shall they be destroyed.
5 Maharikoriko ilay ombilahy kelinao, ry Samaria; Mirehitra aminareo ny fahatezerako; Mandra-pahoviana no tsy ho tohanareo ny fahadiovana?
Thy calfe, O Samaria, hath cast thee off: mine anger is kindled against them: howe long will they be without innocencie!
6 Fa avy tamin’ ny Isiraely koa izany; Ny mpiasa no nanao azy, ka dia tsy Andriamanitra izy, fa ho torotoro ilay ombilahy kelin’ i Samaria.
For it came euen from Israel: the workeman made it, therefore it is not God: but the calfe of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
7 Fa rivotra no nafafiny, ary tadio no hojinjany; Tsy misy vary mitsangana, ny salohiny tsy hisy ventiny; Ary raha tàhiny hisy aza, dia ny olona hafa firenena no hihinana azy.
For they haue sowne the winde, and they shall reape the whirlewind: it hath no stalke: the budde shall bring foorth no meale: if so be it bring forth, the strangers shall deuoure it.
8 Voatelina Isiraely; Ankehitriny dia efa tonga tahaka ny fanaka tsy mahafinaritra izy any amin’ ny jentilisa.
Israel is deuoured, now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessell wherein is no pleasure.
9 Fa niakatra ho any Asyria izy Toy ny borikidia mandeha irery; Efraima dia nanangy ireo lehilahiny
For they are gone vp to Asshur: they are as a wilde asse alone by himselfe: Ephraim hath hired louers.
10 Ary na dia nanangy tany amin’ ny jentilisa aza izy, dia hovoriko ankehitriny; Ary hihavitsy izy noho ny entan’ ny mpanjakan’ ireo mpanapaka.
Yet though they haue hired among the nations, nowe will I gather them, and they shall sorowe a litle, for the burden of the King and the princes.
11 Fa Efraima nanao alitara maro hanotana, eny, efa nahazo alitara hanotana izy.
Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sinne, his altars shalbe to sinne.
12 Na dia soratako ho azy ny teny betsaka amin’ ny lalàko aza, dia ataony ho toy ny zavatra tsy izy izany.
I haue written to them the great things of my Lawe: but they were counted as a strange thing.
13 Mamono zavatra hatao fanatitra ho Ahy izy, eny, mihinana ny henan’ izany, nefa tsy sitrak’ i Jehovah izany; Ankehitriny dia hotsarovany ny fahotany, ary hovaliany ny helony; Eny, izy ireny dia hiverina ho any Egypta.
They sacrifice flesh for ye sacrifices of mine offerings, and eate it: but the Lord accepteth them not: now will he remember their iniquitie, and visite their sinnes: they shall returne to Egypt.
14 Efa nanadino ny Mpanao azy Isiraely ka nanorina trano vaventy, ary Joda nanamaro tanàna mimanda; Fa haterako afo ao an-tanànany, ka holevonin’ izany ny trano vaventiny.
For Israel hath forgotten his maker, and buildeth Temples, and Iudah hath increased strong cities: but I will sende a fire vpon his cities, and it shall deuoure the palaces thereof.
