Hosea 12
1 Efraima homan-drivotra sady manenjika ny rivotra avy any atsinanana, mandritra ny andro dia ataony betsaka ny lainga sy ny fandozana; Manao fanekena amin’ ny Asyriana izy, ary diloilo no entina ho any Egypta.
Ephraim, feedeth on wind, and pursueth the east wind, all the day, falsehood and force, doth he magnify, —and, a covenant with Assyria, would they solemnize, and, oil into Egypt, must be borne along.
2 Manana ady amin’ i Joda koa Jehovah ary tsy maintsy mamaly an’ i Jakoba araka ny alehany, ka hatsingeriny aminy ny nataony.
But, a controversy, hath Yahweh with Judah, —so that he may bring punishment on Jacob, according to his ways, According to his doings, repay him.
3 Fony mbola tany am-bohoka dia nihazona ny ombelahin-tongotry ny rahalahiny izy, ary rehefa lehibe izy, dia nitolona tamin’ Andriamanitra;
In the womb, took he his brother by the heel; and, in his manly vigour, strove he with God:
4 Eny, nitolona tamin’ Ilay Anjely izy ka nahery; Nitomany izy sady nifona taminy; Nahita azy tao Betela Izy, ary tao no niresahany tamintsika;
Yea he strove against a Messenger, and prevailed, he wept, and made supplication unto him, —At Bethel, he found him, and, there, he spake with us;
5 Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny maro, Jehovah no hahatsiarovana Azy.
And, Yahweh, is God of host, —Yahweh, is his memorial.
6 Koa miverena amin’ Andriamanitrao ianao; Tandremo ny famindram-po sy ny rariny. Ary miandrasa an’ Andriamanitrao mandrakariva.
Thou, therefore, by thy God, shalt return, —lovingkindness and justice, do thou keep, so wait thou for thy God, continually.
7 Kanana eny an-tànany misy mizana miangatra, ny manambaka no tiany.
A trafficker! in his hand, are balances of deceit, to oppress, he loveth.
8 Fa hoy Efraima: Fiharian-karena ihany no efa nataoko, nahazo fananana aho; Ny asako rehetra tsy misy hahatonga fahotana na heloka amiko.
So then Ephraim said, Surely I have gotten me riches, I have found wealth for myself, —in all my toils, they cannot find in me perversity which is sin.
9 Nefa Izaho no Jehovah Andriamanitrao hatrany amin’ ny tany Egypta; Ary mbola hampiditra anao an-day indray Aho tahaka ny tamin’ ny fotoam-pivavahana.
But, I, Yahweh, have been thy God, from the land of Egypt, —I will yet make thee dwell in tents, as in the days of appointed meeting.
10 Efa niteny tamin’ ny mpaminany koa Aho, sady Izaho no nahabetsaka ny fahitana, ary ny mpaminany dia nampilazaiko ohatra.
And I will lay my word upon the prophets, yea, I myself, have magnified, vision, —and, by the hand of the prophets, will I use similitudes.
11 Raha tena heloka Gileada, dia ho tonga zava-poana tokoa izy; Tany Gilgala no namonoany omby betsaka ho fanatitra, koa ny alitarany dia ho toy ny korontam-bato eny am-bavasa any an-tsaha.
If, Gilead, is in sorrow, surely false, have they been, In Gilgal, have they sacrificed, bullocks, —their very altars, shall become as heaps upon the furrows of the field.
12 Jakoba nandositra ho any amin’ ny tany Syria, Isiraely nanompo hahazoany vady, eny, ny hahazoany vady no niandrasany ondry aman’ osy.
When Jacob fled to the country of Syria, then Israel served for a wife, and, for a wife, he watched over a flock.
13 Mpaminany no nentin’ i Jehovah nitondra ny Isiraely nivoaka avy tany Egypta, ary mpaminany koa no nentina niahy azy
And, by a prophet, Yahweh, brought up, Israel out of Egypt, —and, by a prophet, was he watched over.
14 Nanao izay nahatezitra indrindra Efraima, ka dia havelan’ ny Tompony ho eo aminy ny ràny, ary hatsingeriny aminy ny vava ratsy nataony.
Ephraim hath provoked, very bitterly, —his own blood, therefore, upon him, will he leave, and, his reproach, shall his Lord, bring back to him.
