< Genesisy 9 >
1 Ary Andriamanitra nitso-drano an’ i Noa sy ny zanany hoe; Maroa fara sy mihabetsaha ary mamenoa ny tany.
Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “I want you to have many children who will live all over the earth.
2 Ary ny tahotra sy horohoro anareo hahazo ny bibi-dia rehetra sy ny voro-manidina rehetra; ireny mbamin’ izay rehetra mandady na mikisaka amin’ ny tany sy ny hazandrano rehetra ao amin’ ny ranomasina dia efa natolotra eo an-tananareo.
All the wild animals on the earth and all the birds, all the creatures that scurry across the ground, and all the fish, will be very afraid [DOU] of you. I have put them under your control.
3 Ny biby mihetsiketsika rehetra izay miaina dia ho fihinana ho anareo; dia efa nomeko anareo toy ny zava-maitso izy rehetra.
Just as I previously said you could eat green plants for food, now I am saying you can eat everything that lives and moves.
4 Kanefa ny nofo izay mbola misy aina dia ny ràny no aza haninareo.
[It is blood that causes creatures to be alive], therefore you must not eat meat that still has blood in it after the animal is killed. [After you have drained the blood out, you may cook it and eat it].
5 Fa ny ranareo kosa dia hadiniko, satria ainareo izany; eo amin’ ny tanan’ ny manan’ aina rehetra no hanadinako azy; ary eo amin’ ny tanan’ ny olona, dia eo amin’ ny tanan’ ny olona avy, no hanadinako ny ain’ ny olona.
I insist that murderers must be executed. Animals that kill people must also be executed. The reason that everyone who murders someone else must be executed is that
6 Izay mandatsaka ny ran’ olona, dia mba halatsak’ olona kosa ny ràny, satria tahaka ny endrik’ Andriamanitra no nanaovany ny olona.
I made people to be like myself [in many ways]. So someone who murders another human being must be executed by others, [because he killed someone who is like me].
7 Koa ny aminareo, dia maroa fara sy mihabetsaha; miteraha be eny ambonin’ ny tany sy mihabetsaha eny.
As for you, I want you to produce many children, in order that they and their descendants may live all over the earth.”
8 Ary Andriamanitra niteny tamin’ i Noa sy tamin’ ny zanany, izay niaraka taminy, ka nanao hoe:
God also said to Noah and his sons,
9 Indro, Izaho efa manorina ny fanekeko aminareo sy amin’ ny taranakareo mandimby anareo
“Listen carefully. I am now making a solemn promise to you and with your descendants,
10 sy amin’ ny zava-manan’ aina rehetra eo aminareo, na ny vorona, na ny biby fiompy, na ny bibi-dia rehetra eo aminareo: izay rehetra nivoaka avy tao anatin’ ny sambo-fiara, dia ny biby samy hafa rehetra.
and with all the living creatures that are with you—including the birds, the livestock, and the wild animals—every living creature on the earth that came out of the boat with you.
11 Dia aoriko ny fanekeko aminareo, ka tsy haringako amin’ ny safo-drano intsony ny nofo rehetra, ary tsy hisy safo-drano hanimba ny tany intsony.
This is the promise that I am making to you: I will never again destroy all living creatures by a flood, or destroy everything else on the earth by a flood.”
12 Ary hoy Andriamanitra: Izao no famantarana ny fanekena izay ataoko ho amiko sy ho aminareo mbamin’ ny zava-manan’ aina rehetra eo aminareo hatramin’ ny taranaka fara mandimby:
Then God said to him, “This is the sign to guarantee that I will keep the promise that I am making to you and to all living creatures, a promise that I will keep forever:
13 Ny avako efa napetrako eo amin’ ny rahona ho famantarana ny fanekena ho amiko sy ho amin’ ny tany.
[From time to time] I will put a rainbow in the sky. It will remind me of my promise that I have made to you and everything on the earth.
14 Ary raha mampiangona rahona eo ambonin’ ny tany Aho, ka hita eo amin’ ny rahona ny avana,
When I cause rain to fall from the clouds, and a rainbow appears in the sky,
15 dia hotsarovako ny fanekeko izay ho amiko sy ho aminareo mbamin’ ny zava-manan’ aina, dia ny nofo rehetra; ary tsy hisy safo-drano, handringana ny nofo rehetra intsony.
it will remind me about the promise that I have made to you and all living creatures, my promise that there will never again be a flood that will destroy all living creatures.
16 Ary ho eo amin’ ny rahona ny avana; ary hitsinjo azy Aho hahatsiarovako ny fanekena mandrakizay izay ho amin’ Andriamanitra sy ho amin’ ny zava-manan’ aina rehetra, dia ny nofo rehetra ambonin’ ny tany.
Whenever there is a rainbow in the sky, I will see it, and I will think about the promise that I have made to every living creature that is upon the earth, a promise that I will keep forever.”
17 Ary hoy Andriamanitra tamin’ i Noa: Izany no famantarana ny fanekena izay naoriko ho amiko sy ho amin’ ny nofo rehetra ambonin’ ny tany.
Then God said to Noah, “The rainbow will be the sign of the promise that I have made to all the creatures that live on the earth.”
18 Ary ny zanakalahin’ i Noa izay izay nivoaka avy tamin’ ny sambo-fiara dia Sema sy Hama ary Jafeta; ary i Hama no rain’ i Kanana.
The sons of Noah who came out of the boat were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham later became the father of Canaan.
19 Ireo telo lahy ireo no zanak’ i Noa; ary avy tamin’ ireo no nielezan’ ny olona tambonin’ ny tany rehetra.
All the people on the earth are descended from those three sons of Noah.
20 Ary vao tonga mpiasa tany Noa ka nanao tanim-boaloboka.
Noah was a farmer. He planted grapevines.
21 Ary nisotro tamin’ ny divay izy ka mamo; dia nanary lamba izy ka nitanjaka tao anatin’ ny lainy.
[When they later produced grapes, he made wine from the grapes]. One day, when he drank too much of the wine, he became drunk, and he lay naked in his tent.
22 Ary hitan’ i Hama, rain’ i Kanana ny fitanjahan’ ny rainy, dia nambarany tamin’ ny rahalahiny roa lahy teo ivelany.
Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father lying naked in the tent. So he went outside and told his two older brothers what he had seen.
23 Ary nalain’ i Sema sy Jafeta ny lamba ka nentin’ izy mirahalahy teo an-tsorony, dia nanao dia mianotra izy ka nandrakotra ny fitanjahan’ ny rainy; ary ny tavany tsy nanatrika, ka dia tsy hitany ny fitanjahan’ ny rainy.
Then Shem and Japheth took a large cloth and placed it across their backs, and walked backwards into the tent. They covered their father’s naked body with the cloth. Their faces were turned away from their father, so they did not see him naked.
24 Dia nahatsiaro Noa, rehefa afaka ny hamamoany, ka nahafantatra izay efa nataon’ ny zanany faralahy taminy.
When Noah woke up [and was sober again], he found out how wrongfully Ham, his youngest son, had behaved toward him.
25 Dia hoy izy: Ho voaozona anie Kanana; Ho tena andevon’ ny rahalahiny izy.
He said, “I am cursing Ham’s youngest son, Canaan, and his descendants. They will be like slaves to their uncles.
26 Ary hoy koa izy: Isaorana anie Jehovah, Andriamanitr’ i Sema; Ary aoka Kanana ho andevony.
I will ask God to enlarge the territory that belongs to Japheth, and allow his descendants to live peacefully among the descendants of Shem [MTY].
27 Hataon’ Andriamanitra malalaka anie Jafeta; Ary aoka honina ao an-dain’ i Sema izy; Ary aoka Kanana ho andevony.
And I desire that Canaan’s descendants will be like slaves of Japheth’s descendants.”
28 Ary ny andro niainan’ i Noa taorian’ ny safo-drano dia dimam-polo amby telon-jato taona.
Noah lived 350 more years after the flood.
29 Ary ny andro rehetra niainan’ i Noa dia dimam-polo amby sivin-jato taona; dia maty izy.
He died when he was 950 years old.
