And these [are] births of Esau, who [is] Edom.

Esau hath taken his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon the Hivite,
3 ary Basemata, zanakavavin’ Isimaela sady anabavin’ i Nebaiota.
and Bashemath daughter of Ishmael, sister of Nebajoth.
4 Ary Ada niteraka an’ i Elifaza tamin’ i Esao; ary Basemata niteraka an’ i Regoela;
And Adah beareth to Esau, Eliphaz; and Bashemath hath born Reuel;
5 ary Oholibama niteraka an’ i Jeosy sy Jalama ary Kora. Ireo no zanak’ i Esao, izay naterany tany amin’ ny tany Kanana.
and Aholibamah hath born Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah. These [are] sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
6 Dia nentin’ i Esao ny vadiny sy ny zananilahy sy ny zananivavy sy ny olona rehetra tao an-tranony sy ny omby aman’ ondriny sy ny biby fiompiny rehetra, mbamin’ ny fananany rehetra izay efa nohariny tany amin’ ny tany Kanana, ka dia lasa nankany amin’ izay tany hialana eo anatrehan’ i Jakoba rahalahiny.
And Esau taketh his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance which he hath acquired in the land of Canaan, and goeth into the country from the face of Jacob his brother;

for their substance was more abundant than to dwell together, and the land of their sojournings was not able to bear them because of their cattle;

and Esau dwelleth in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.
9 Ary izao no taranak’ i Esao, rain’ ny Edomita any an-tendrombohitra Seïra:
And these [are] births of Esau, father of Edom, in mount Seir.
10 Ny anaran’ ny zanakalahin’ i Esao dia izao: Elifaza, zanak’ i Ada, vadin’ i Esao, sy Regoela, zanak’ i Basemata, vadin’ i Esao.
These [are] the names of the sons of Esau: Eliphaz son of Adah, wife of Esau; Reuel son of Bashemath, wife of Esau.
11 Ary ny zanakalahin’ i Elifaza dia Temana sy Omara sy Zefo sy Gatama ary Kenaza.
And the sons of Eliphaz are Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz;
12 Ary Timna no vaditsindranon’ i Elifaza, zanakalahin’ i Esao; ary niteraka an’ i Amaleka tamin’ i Elifaza izy. Ireo no zanakalahin’ i Ada, vadin’ i Esao.
and Timnath hath been concubine to Eliphaz son of Esau, and she beareth to Eliphaz, Amalek; these [are] sons of Adah wife of Esau.
13 Ary izao no zanakalahin’ i Regoela: Nahata sy Zera sy Sama ary Miza; ireo no zanakalahin’ i Basemata, vadin’ i Esao.
And these [are] sons of Reuel: Nahath and Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah; these were sons of Bashemath wife of Esau.
14 Ary izao no zanakalahin’ i Oholibama, zanakavavin’ i Ana, zanakavavin’ i Zibona, vadin’ i Esao: niteraka an’ i Jeosy sy Jalama ary Kora tamin’ i Esao izy.
And these have been the sons of Aholibamah daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon, wife of Esau; and she beareth to Esau, Jeush and Jaalam and Korah.
15 Izao no loham-pirenena tamin’ ny taranak’ i Esao: ny zanakalahin’ i Elifaza, lahimatoan’ i Esao, dia Temana loham-pireneny sy Omara loham-pireneny sy Zefo loham-pireneny sy Kenaza loham-pireneny
These [are] chiefs of the sons of Esau: sons of Eliphaz, first-born of Esau: chief Teman, chief Omar, chief Zepho, chief Kenaz,

17 Ary izao no zanakalahin’ i Regoela, zanak’ i Esao: Nahata loham-pireneny sy Zera loham-pireneny sy Sama loham-pireneny sy Miza loham-pireneny. Ireo no loham-pirenena avy tamin’ i Regoela tany amin’ ny tany Edoma; ireo no zanak’ i Basemata, vadin’ i Esao.
And these [are] sons of Reuel son of Esau: chief Nahath, chief Zerah, chief Shammah, chief Mizzah; these [are] chiefs of Reuel, in the land of Edom; these [are] sons of Bashemath wife of Esau.
18 Ary izao no zanakalahin’ i Oholibama, vadin’ i Esao: Jeosy loham-pireneny sy Jalama loham-pireneny sy Kora loham-pireneny. Ireo no loham-pirenena avy tamin’ i Oholibama, zanakavavin’ i Ana, vadin’ i Esao.
And these [are] sons of Aholibamah wife of Esau: chief Jeush, chief Jaalam, chief Korah; these [are] chiefs of Aholibamah daughter of Anah, wife of Esau.
19 Ireo no zanak’ i Esao, izay atao hoe koa Edoma, ary ireo no loham-pireneny.
These [are] sons of Esau (who [is] Edom), and these their chiefs.
20 Ary izao no zanakalahin’ i Seïra Horita, izay nonina tany amin’ ny tany: Lotana sy Sobala sy Zibona sy Ana
These [are] sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,
21 sy Disona sy Ezera ary Disana. Ireo no loham-pirenena tamin’ ny Horita, dia ny taranak’ i Seïra, tany amin’ ny tany Edoma.
and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan; these [are] chiefs of the Horites, sons of Seir, in the land of Edom.
22 Ary ny zanakalahin’ i Lotana dia Hory sy Hemana; ary Timna no anabavin’ i Lotana.
And the sons of Lotan are Hori and Heman; and a sister of Lotan [is] Timna.
23 Ary izao no zanakalahin’ i Sobala: Alvana sy Manahata sy Ebala sy Sefo ary Onama.
And these [are] sons of Shobal: Alvan and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho and Onam.
24 Ary izao no zanakalahin’ i Zibona: Aia sy Ana (izany Ana izany ilay nahita ny ranomafana tany an-efitra, raha niandry ny borikin’ i Zibona rainy izy).
And these [are] sons of Zibeon, both Ajah and Anah: it [is] Anah that hath found the Imim in the wilderness, in his feeding the asses of Zibeon his father.

And these [are] sons of Dishon: Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
27 Ary izao no zanak’ i Ezera: Bilana sy Zavana ary Akana.
These [are] sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan.
28 Ary izao no zanak’ i Disana: Oza sy Arana.
These [are] sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.
29 Ary izao no loham-pirenena tamin’ ny Horita: Lotana loham-pireneny sy Sobala loham-pireneny sy Zibona loham-pireneny sy Ana loham-pireneny
These [are] chiefs of the Horite: chief Lotan, chief Shobal, chief Zibeon, chief Anah,
30 sy Disona loham-pireneny sy Ezera loham-pireneny ary Disana loham-pireneny. Ireo no loham-pirenena tamin’ ny Horita, dia ny loham-pireneny tany amin’ ny tany Seïra.
chief Dishon, chief Ezer, chief Dishan: these [are] chiefs of the Horite in reference to their chiefs in the land of Seir.

And these [are] the kings who have reigned in the land of Edom before the reigning of a king over the sons of Israel.

And Bela son of Beor reigneth in Edom, and the name of his city [is] Dinhabah;

and Bela dieth, and reign in his stead doth Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah;

and Jobab dieth, and reign in his stead doth Husham from the land of the Temanite.
35 Ary maty Hosama, dia nanjaka nandimby azy Hadada, zanak’ i Bedada, izay namely ny Midianita tany amin’ ny tany Moaba; ary Avita no anaran’ ny tanànany.
And Husham dieth, and reign in his stead doth Hadad son of Bedad (who smiteth Midian in the field of Moab), and the name of his city [is] Avith;
36 Ary maty Hadada, dia nanjaka nandimby azy Samla avy tany Masreka.
and Hadad dieth, and reign in his stead doth Samlah of Masrekah;
37 Ary maty Samla, dia nanjaka nandimby azy Saoly avy tany Rehobota eo amoron’ ny Ony.
and Samlah dieth, and reign in his stead doth Saul from Rehoboth of the River;
38 Ary maty Saoly, dia nanjaka nandimby azy Bala-hanana, zanak’ i Akbora.
and Saul dieth, and reign in his stead doth Baal-hanan son of Achbor;
39 Ary maty Bala-hanana, zanak’ i Akbora; dia nanjaka nandimby azy Hadara; ary Pao no anaran’ ny tanànany; ary ny anaran’ ny vadiny dia Mehetabela, zanakavavin’ i Matreda, zanakavavin’ i Me-zahaba.
and Baal-hanan son of Achbor dieth, and reign in his stead doth Hadar, and the name of his city [is] Pau; and his wife's name [is] Mehetabel daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-zahab.
40 Ary izao no anaran’ ny loham-pirenena tamin’ ny taranak’ i Esao, araka ny mpianakaviny, araka ny fonenany sy araka ny anarany: Timna loham-pireneny sy Alva loham-pireneny sy Jeteta loham-pireneny
And these [are] the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their families, according to their places, by their names: chief Timnah, chief Alvah, chief Jetheth,
41 sy Oholibama loham-pireneny sy Elaha loham-pireneny sy Pinona loham-pireneny
chief Aholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,
42 sy Kenaza loham-pireneny sy Temana loham-pireneny sy Mibzara loham-pireneny
chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,
43 sy Magdiela loham-pireneny ary Irama loham-pireneny. Ireo no loham-pirenena tamin’ ny Edomita, araka ny fonenany, tany amin’ ny taniny avy. Izany no Esao, rain’ ny Edomita.
chief Magdiel, chief Iram: these [are] chiefs of Edom, in reference to their dwellings, in the land of their possession; he [is] Esau father of Edom.
