1 Ary izao no taranaky ny zanakalahin’ i Noa, dia Sema sy Hama ary Jafeta: Samy niteraka zazalahy avy izy taorian’ ny safo-drano.
Now these [are] the generations of the sons of Noe, Sem, Cham, Japheth; and sons were born to them after the flood.
2 Ny zanakalahin’ i Jafeta dia Gomera sy Magoga sy Maday sy Javana sy Tobala sy Maseka ary Tirasa.
The sons of Japheth, Gamer, and Magog, and Madoi, and Jovan, and Elisa, and Thobel, and Mosoch, and Thiras.
3 Ary ny zanakalahin’ i Gomera dia Askenaza sy Rifata ary Togarma.
And the sons of Gamer, Aschanaz, and Riphath, and Thorgama.
4 Ary ny zanakalahin’ i Javana dia Elisaha sy Tarsisy sy ny Kitima sy ny Dodanita.
And the sons of Jovan, Elisa, and Tharseis, Cetians, Rhodians.
5 Avy tamin’ ireo no niavakavahan’ ny nosin’ ny firenena tany amin’ ny taniny, dia samy araka ny fiteniny avy, araka ny mpianakaviny avy, tamin’ ny fireneny avy.
From these were the islands of the Gentiles divided in their land, each according to his tongue, in their tribes and in their nations.
6 Ary ny zanakalahin’ i Hama dia Kosy sy Mizraima sy Pota ary Kanana.
And the sons of Cham, Chus, and Mesrain, Phud, and Chanaan.
7 Ary ny zanakalahin’ i Kosy dia Seba sy Havila sy Sabta sy Ragama ary Sabteka; ary ny zanakalahin’ i Ragama dia Seba sy Dedana.
And the sons of Chus, Saba, and Evila, and Sabatha, and Rhegma, and Sabathaca. And the sons of Rhegma, Saba, and Dadan.
8 Ary Kosy niteraka an’ i Nimroda; izy no voalohany izay tonga olona mahery tambonin’ ny tany.
And Chus begot Nebrod: he began to be a giant upon the earth.
9 Izy dia mpihaza mahery teo anatrehan’ i Jehovah, ka izany no nanaovan’ ny olona hoe: Tahaka an’ i Nimroda, mpihaza mahery eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah.
He was a giant hunter before the Lord God; therefore they say, As Nebrod the giant hunter before the Lord.
10 Ary ny niandohan’ ny fanjakany dia Babela sy Ereka sy Akada ary Kalne tany amin’ ny tany Sinara.
And the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Orech, and Archad, and Chalanne, in the land of Senaar.
11 Ary nivoaka avy tamin’ izany tany izany izy ka nankany Asyria, dia nanorina an’ i Ninive mbamin’ i Rehobot-ira sy Kala
Out of that land came Assur, and built Ninevi, and the city Rhooboth, and Chalach,
12 ary Resena teo anelanelan’ i Ninive sy Kala, dia ilay tanàna lehibe izany.
and Dase between Ninevi and Chalach: this is the great city.
13 Ary Mizraima niteraka ny Lodita sy ny Anamita sy ny Lehabita sy ny Naftohita
And Mesrain begot the Ludiim, and the Nephthalim, and the Enemetiim, and the Labiim,
14 sy ny Patrosita sy ny Kaslohita izay nihavian’ ny Filistina ary ny Kaftorita.
and the Patrosoniim, and the Chasmoniim (whence came forth Phylistiim) and the Gaphthoriim.
15 Ary Kanana niteraka an’ i Sidona lahimatoany sy Heta,
And Chanaan begot Sidon his first-born, and the Chettite,
16 ary ny Jebosita, sy ny Amorita sy ny Girgasita
and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,
17 sy ny Hivita sy ny Arkita sy ny Sinita
and the Evite, and the Arukite, and the Asennite,
18 sy ny Arvadita sy ny Zemarita ary ny Hamatita; ary nony taoriana dia niely ny firenen’ ny Kananita.
and the Aradian, and the Samarean, and the Amathite; and after this the tribes of the Chananites were dispersed.
19 Ary ny fari-tanin’ ny Kananita dia hatrany Sidona ka hatrany Gaza ao akaikin’ i Gerara, ka hatrany Lesa ao akaikin’ i Sodoma sy Gomora sy Adma ary Zeboïma.
And the boundaries of the Chananites were from Sidon till one comes to Gerara and Gaza, till one comes to Sodom and Gomorrha, Adama and Seboim, as far as Dasa.
20 Ireo no zanak’ i Hama, araka ny mpianakaviny, araka ny fiteniny, amin’ ny taniny, amin’ ny fireneny.
There [were] the sons of Cham in their tribes according to their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.
21 Dia niteraka koa Sema, rain’ ny zanak’ i Ebera rehetra rahalahin’ i Jafeta, izay zokiny.
And to Sem himself also were children born, the father of all the sons of Heber, the brother of Japheth the elder.
22 Ny zanakalahin’ i Sema dia Elama sy Asyra sy Arpaksada sy Loda ary Arama.
Sons of Sem, Elam, and Assur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Cainan.
23 Ary ny zanakalahin’ i Arama dia Oza sy Hola sy Gatera ary Masy.
And sons of Aram, Uz, and Ul, and Gater, and Mosoch.
24 Ary Arpaksada niteraka an’ i Sela; ary Sela niteraka an’ i Ebera.
And Arphaxad begot Cainan, and Cainan begot Sala. And Sala begot Heber.
25 Ary Ebera niteraka roa lahy: ny anaran’ ny iray natao hoe Palega, satria tamin’ ny androny no nizarana ny tany; ary Joktana no anaran’ ny rahalahiny.
And to Heber were born two sons, the name of the one, Phaleg, because in his days the earth was divided, and the name of his brother Jektan.
26 Ary Joktana niteraka an’ i Almodada sy Salefa sy Hazarmaveta sy Jera
And Jektan begot Elmodad, and Saleth, and Sarmoth, and Jarach,
27 sy Hadorama sy Ozala sy Dikla
and Odorrha, and Aibel, and Decla,
28 sy Obala sy Abimaela sy Sheba
Eval, and Abimael, and Saba,
29 sy Ofira sy Havila ary Jobaba; ireo rehetra ireo no zanakalahin’ i Joktana.
and Uphir, and Evila, and Jobab, all these were the sons of Jektan.
30 Ary ny fonenan’ ireo dia hatrany Mesa ao akaikin’ i Sefara, tendrombohitra atsinanana.
And their dwelling was from Masse, till one comes to Saphera, a mountain of the east.
31 Ireo no zanak’ i Sema, araka ny mpianakaviny, araka ny fiteniny, amin’ ny taniny, araka ny fireneny.
These were the sons of Sem in their tribes, according to their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.
32 Ireo no mpianakavin’ ny zanak’ i Noa, araka ny taranany, amin’ ny fireneny; ary avy tamin’ ireo no niavakavahan’ ny firenena tambonin’ ny tany taorian’ ny safo-drano.
These are the tribes of the sons of Noe, according to their generations, according to their nations: of them were the islands of the Gentiles scattered over the earth after the flood.
