< Galatiana 2 >
1 Ary nony afaka efatra ambin’ ny folo taona, dia niakatra tany Jerosalema indray izaho sy Barnabasy, ary Titosy dia nentiko niaraka tamiko koa.
Then after a period of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me.
2 Ary niakatra araka ny fanambarana aho, ka nambarako taminy ny filazantsara izay toriko any amin’ ny jentilisa, nefa nangingina ihany tamin’ izay manan-daza, fandrao ho mihazakazaka foana aho, na efa nihazakazaka foana.
I went up by revelation, and I laid before them the Good News which I preach amongst the Gentiles, but privately before those who were respected, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain.
3 Kanefa na dia Titosy izay niaraka tamiko aza, dia tsy mba noterena hoforana, na dia Grika aza izy,
But not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.
4 dia noho ny rahalahy sandoka nampidirina misokosoko, izay niditra mangingina hisafo ny fahafahantsika, izay ananantsika ao amin’ i Kristy Jesosy, mba hanandevozany antsika;
This was because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who stole in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage,
5 fa tsy nety nikoy ireo izahay na dia ora iray monja aza, mba hitoeran’ ny fahamarinan’ ny filazantsara aminareo.
to whom we gave no place in the way of subjection, not for an hour, that the truth of the Good News might continue with you.
6 Fa ny amin’ ny olona atao ho manan-daza (na nanao ahoana na nanao ahoana izy dia tsy mampaninona ahy; Andriamanitra tsy mizaha tavan’ olona), izaho tsy nomen’ ireo manan-daza ireo saina na tamin’ inona na tamin’ inona.
But from those who were reputed to be important—whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God doesn’t show partiality to man—they, I say, who were respected imparted nothing to me,
7 Fa hafa kosa no nataony, fa nony hitany fa notolorana ny filazantsara ho adidiko ho an’ ny tsy voafora aho, tahaka an’ i Petera ho an’ ny voafora
but to the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the Good News for the uncircumcised, even as Peter with the Good News for the circumcised—
8 (fa Izay niasa ho an’ i Petera hah’ Apostoly azy ho an’ ny voafora no niasa ho ahy koa ho an’ ny jentilisa),
for he who worked through Peter in the apostleship with the circumcised also worked through me with the Gentiles—
9 ary nony fantatr’ i Jakoba sy Kefasy ary Jaona, izay natao ho andry, ny fahasoavana nomena ahy, dia notolorany ny tanana ankavanan’ ny fihavanana izaho sy Barnabasy, mba hankany amin’ ny jentilisa izahay, fa izy kosa ho any amin’ ny voafora.
and when they perceived the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, those who were reputed to be pillars, gave to Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcision.
10 Izao ihany no tiany, dia ny mba hahatsiarovanay ny malahelo, sady nahazoto ahy indrindra rahateo ny hanao izany.
They only asked us to remember the poor—which very thing I was also zealous to do.
11 Ary nony tonga tany Antiokia Kefasy, dia nanohitra azy nifanatrika aho, satria hita fa nanan-tsiny izy.
But when Peter came to Antioch, I resisted him to his face, because he stood condemned.
12 Fa fony tsy mbola tonga ny sasany any tany amin’ i Jakoba, dia niara-nihinana tamin’ ny jentilisa ihany izy; fa nony tonga ireo, dia nihatakataka izy ka niala, satria natahotra ny momba ny famorana izy.
For before some people came from James, he ate with the Gentiles. But when they came, he drew back and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.
13 Ary ny Jiosy sasany koa niara-nihatsaravelatsihy taminy, ka Barnabasy avy aza mba voataonan’ ny fihatsaram-belatsihiny koa.
And the rest of the Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.
14 Fa rehefa hitako fa tsy nandeha mahitsy araka ny fahamarinan’ ny filazantsara ireo, dia hoy izaho tamin’ i Kefasy teo anatrehan’ ny olona rehetra: Raha ianao izay tena Jiosy aza no manao tahaka ny fanaon’ ny jentilisa, fa tsy tahaka ny fanaon’ ny Jiosy, nahoana ny jentilisa no terenao hanao tahaka ny fanaon’ ny Jiosy?
But when I saw that they didn’t walk uprightly according to the truth of the Good News, I said to Peter before them all, “If you, being a Jew, live as the Gentiles do, and not as the Jews do, why do you compel the Gentiles to live as the Jews do?
15 Taranaky ny Jiosy isika, fa tsy mba mpanota avy amin’ ny jentilisa,
“We, being Jews by nature and not Gentile sinners,
16 nefa nony fantatsika fa tsy hamarinina amin’ ny asan’ ny lalàna ny olona, fa amin’ ny finoana an’ i Jesosy Kristy, dia nino an’ i Kristy Jesosy koa isika mba hohamarinina amin’ ny finoana an’ i Kristy, fa tsy amin’ ny asan’ ny lalàna, satria tsy misy nofo hohamarinina amin’ ny asan’ ny lalàna.
yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law.
17 Fa raha mitady hohamarinina ao amin’ i Kristy isika, nefa ny tenantsika no hita fa mpanota, moa mpanompo ny ota va Kristy? Sanatria izany!
But if while we sought to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also were found sinners, is Christ a servant of sin? Certainly not!
18 Fa raha ny zavatra efa noravako no atsangako indray, dia mampiseho ny tenako fa diso aho.
For if I build up again those things which I destroyed, I prove myself a law-breaker.
19 Fa raha izaho, dia tamin’ ny lalàna no nahafatesako ny amin’ ny lalàna, mba ho velona ho an’ Andriamanitra aho.
For I through the law died to the law, that I might live to God.
20 Voahombo miaraka amin’ i Kristy amin’ ny hazo fijaliana aho, ary tsy izaho intsony no velona, fa Kristy no velona ato anatiko; fa izay ivelomako ankehitriny eo amin’ ny nofo dia ivelomako amin’ ny finoana ny Zanak’ Andriamanitra, Izay efa tia ahy ka nanolotra ny tenany hamonjy ahy.
I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.
21 Tsy mahafoana ny fahasoavan’ Andriamanitra aho; fa raha avy amin’ ny lalàna ny fahamarinana, dia maty foana Kristy.
I don’t reject the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing!”
