< Ezekiela 19 >
1 Ary manaova hira fahalahelovana ny amin’ ireo andrianan’ ny Isiraely ianao,
And thou, —do thou lift up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
2 ka ataovy hoe: Nahoana ny liom-bavy reninareo no namitsaka tao amin’ ny liom-bavy. Ary nitaiza ny zanany tao amin’ ny liona tanora?
And say, What a noble lioness was thy mother! among lions did she lie down, in the midst of young lions did she raise her whelps!
3 Ary nahalehibe ny zanany anankiray izy, dia tonga liona tanora io ka nianatra hamiravira haza sady nihinana olona.
And she brought up one of her whelps: he became a young lion, and he learned to tear in pieces the prey; [even] men he devoured.
4 Nahare ny lazany ny firenena, dia namandrika azy tamin’ ny lavaka, ka nasiany masom-by ny orony, dia nentiny ho any amin’ ny tany Egypta izy.
And when nations heard of him, he was caught in their pit, and they brought him with nose-rings unto the land of Egypt.
5 Ary nony hitan’ ny liom-bavy fa foana sy levona ny fanantenany, dia nangalany indray ny zanany ka notezainy ho tonga liona tanora.
Now when she saw that she had long waited, [that] her hope was lost, she took another one of her whelps, and made him a young lion.
6 Ary nivoivoy teny amin’ ny liom-bavy iny, dia tonga liona tanora ka nianatra hamiravira haza sady nihinana olona.
And he went up and down in the midst of lions, he became a young lion; and he learned to tear in pieces the prey; even men he devoured.
7 Ary nisavika ny mpitondratenan’ ireny izy sady nandrava ny tanànany, ka lao ny tany mbamin’ izay rehetra tao aminy. Noho ny feon’ ny fierony.
And he broke down their palaces, and their cities laid he in ruins: and then was terrified the land, with all that filled it, because of the noise of his roaring.
8 Ary ny jentilisa manodidina, izay avy any amin’ ny fanjakana samy hafa, dia nanamboatra sy namelatra ny fandrika haratony taminy, ka dia voafandrika tamin’ ny lavaka izy.
Then set themselves the nations against him on every side from the provinces; and they spread over him their net: in their pit was he caught.
9 Ary nataony tamin’ ny vata izy, sady nasiany masom-by ny orony, ka nentiny ho any amin’ ny mpanjakan’ i Babylona izy, nentiny ho ao amin’ ny fiarovana izy, mba tsy ho re eny amin’ ny tendrombohitry ny Isiraely intsony ny feony.
And they put him in a cage with nose-rings [in his nose], and they brought him to the king of Babylon: they brought him into strong-holds, in order that his voice should no more be heard on the mountains of Israel.
10 Ny reninao dia tahaka ny voalobota voavoly teo amoron-drano Tamin’ ny andro niadananao: Vokatra sady nanaroka izy azon’ ny rano be,
Thy mother was like a vine, if I compare thee to aught, planted by the waters: fruitful and full of boughs was she by reason of many waters.
11 Ka nisy rantsany mafy azo natao tehim-panjakana ho an’ izay manapaka, dia tonga avo izy ka nitehika tamin’ ny rahona matevina, ary niseho tamin’ ny hahavony izy noho ny hamaroan’ ny rantsany.
And she had strong branches [fit] for the sceptres of rulers, and her stature grew up high between the thick-branched [trees], and she was seen through her height by means of the multitude of her tendrils.
12 Nefa nongotana tamin’ ny fahavinirana izy ka nazera ho amin’ ny tany, ary ny rivotra avy any atsinanana no nahamaina ny voany; Ny rantsany mafy dia tapaka ka maina; Levon’ ny afo ireny.
But she was plucked up in fury, to the ground was she cast down, and the east wind dried up her fruit: and torn off and dried up were her strong branches, a fire consumed them.
13 Ary ankehitriny voavoly any an-efitra, dia ao amin’ ny tany maina karankaina izy.
And now is she planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land.
14 Ary afo no mivoaka avy amin’ ny sampany misy tehina ka mandevona ny voany, dia tsy misy rantsany mafy azo atao tehim-panjakana ho fanapahana intsony izy. Hira fahalahelovana izany sady mbola ho hira fahalahelovana ihany.
And fire is gone out of a branch of her boughs, and hath devoured her fruit, so that there is no more on her a strong branch for a sceptre to rule. This is a lamentation, and it is become a lamentation.
