< Eksodosy 9 >

1 Ary hoy Jehovah tamin’ i Mosesy: Mankanesa ao amin’ i Farao ianao, ka lazao aminy hoe: Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Hebreo: Alefaso ny oloko hanompo Ahy.
The Lord told Moses, “Go and speak to Pharaoh. Tell him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they can worship me.
2 Fa raha mandà ka tsy mandefa azy ianao, fa mbola mihazona azy ihany,
If you refuse to let them go and keep holding onto them,
3 dia, indro, ny tànan’ i Jehovah ho amin’ ny bibinao izay any an-tsaha, dia amin’ ny soavaly sy amin’ ny boriky sy amin’ ny rameva sy amin’ ny omby ary amin’ ny ondry aman’ osy, ka hisy areti-mandringana mafy indrindra.
I will punish you by bringing a very severe plague on your livestock—on your horses, donkeys, camels, herds, and flocks.
4 Ary Jehovah dia hanavaka ny bibin’ ny Isiraely amin’ ny bibin’ ny Egyptiana, ka tsy hisy maty izay rehetra an’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely na dia iray aza.
But the Lord will distinguish between the livestock of the Israelites and the Egyptians, so that none of those belonging to the Israelites will die.’
5 Dia nanendry fotoan’ andro Jehovah ka nanao hoe: Rahampitso no hanaovan’ i Jehovah izany zavatra izany eto amin’ ny tany.
The Lord has set a time, saying, ‘Tomorrow this is what is going to happen here in the country.’”
6 Ary nony ampitso dia nataon’ i Jehovah izany zavatra izany; ka maty avokoa ny bibin’ ny Egyptiana rehetra; fa ny bibin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely kosa tsy mba nisy maty na dia iray akory aza.
The following day the Lord did what he had said. All the Egyptians' livestock died, but not a single animal belonging to the Israelites died.
7 Dia naniraka Farao, ka, indro, tsy mba nisy maty ny bibin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely na dia iray akory aza, nefa nihamafy ny fon’ i Farao, ka tsy nandefa ny olona izy.
Pharaoh sent out officials and discovered that not a single one of the Israelites' livestock had died. But Pharaoh was stubborn, and he would not let the people leave.
8 Ary hoy Jehovah tamin’ i Mosesy sy Arona: Mangalà lavenona amin’ ny tananao ao amin’ ny lafaoro lehibe, ary aoka hatopin’ i Mosesy miakatra manandrify ny lanitra eo imason’ i Farao izany.
The Lord told Moses and Aaron, “Go and get some handfuls of soot from a furnace. Then have Moses throw it into the air in front of Pharaoh.
9 Dia hitora-jofo eran’ ny tany Egypta rehetra izany ka ho tonga vay mipoipoitra amin’ ny olona sy amin’ ny biby fiompy eran’ ny tany Egypta rehetra.
It will spread like fine dust over the whole country of Egypt, and open sores will break out on people and animals throughout the land.”
10 Dia naka lavenona tamin’ ny lafaoro lehibe izy roa lahy ka nitsangana teo anatrehan’ i Farao; dia natopin’ i Mosesy niakatra nanandrify ny lanitra izany, ka dia tonga vay nipoipoitra tamin’ ny olona sy tamin’ ny biby fiompy.
They got soot from a furnace, and went to see Pharaoh. Moses threw it into the air, and open sores broke out on people and animals.
11 Ary ny ombiasy tsy nahajanona teo anatrehan’ i Mosesy noho ny vay; fa ny vay dia nahazo ny ombiasy mbamin’ ny Egyptiana rehetra.
The magicians were unable to come and appear before Moses, because they and all the other Egyptians were covered in sores.
12 Nefa Jehovah dia nanamafy ny fon’ i Farao, ka tsy nihaino azy mirahalahy izy, dia araka izay efa nolazain’ i Jehovah tamin’ i Mosesy.
But the Lord gave Pharaoh a stubborn attitude, and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had told Moses.
13 Ary hoy Jehovah tamin’ i Mosesy: Mifohaza maraina koa ianao dia mitsangana eo anatrehan’ i Farao, ka lazao aminy hoe: Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Hebreo: Alefaso ny oloko hanompo Ahy
The Lord told Moses, “Tomorrow morning get up early and go to Pharaoh, and tell him that this is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘Let my people go, so that they can worship me.
14 Fa ankehitriny izao dia halefako ny areti-mandringana rehetra avy atỳ amiko hamely ny fonao sy ny mpanomponao ary ny vahoakanao, mba hahafantaranao fa tsy misy tahaka Ahy amin’ ny tany rehetra.
This time I will direct all my plagues against you and your officials and your people, so you will realize that there is no one like me in all the earth.
15 Fa ankehitriny, raha izay Aho no naninjitra ny tanako hamely anao sy ny vahoakanao amin’ ny areti-mandringana, dia efa fongotra tamin’ ny tany ianao.
By now I could have reached out to strike you and your people with a plague that would have completely destroyed you.
16 Kanefa izao indrindra no nampaharetako anao, dia ny hampahita anao ny heriko mba hambara any amin’ ny tany rehetra ny anarako.
However, I have let you live so you can see my power, and that my reputation may be spread throughout the earth.
17 Mbola mirehareha amin’ ny oloko ihany va ianao ka tsy handefa azy?
But in your pride you are still tyrannizing my people, and refuse to let them leave.
18 Indro, rahampitso toy izao dia hampilatsaka havandra be dia be Aho, izay tsy mbola nisy toy izany teto Egypta hatramin’ ny andro nisiany mponina ka mandraka ankehitriny.
So watch out! About this time tomorrow I will send down the worst hailstorm that has ever fallen on Egypt, from the beginning of its history until now.
19 Koa ankehitriny, maniraha mba hanangona faingana ny bibinao sy izay rehetra anananao any an-tsaha; fa ny olona rehetra sy ny biby fiompy izay ho hita any an-tsaha ka tsy ho enti-mody dia hilatsahan’ ny havandra ka ho faty avokoa.
So order your livestock and everything you have in the field to be brought inside. Every person and every animal that stays outside and is not brought inside will die when the hail falls on them.’”
20 Ary izay natahotra ny tenin’ i Jehovah teo amin’ ny mpanompon’ i Farao dia nampody ny mpanompony sy ny bibiny ho any an-trano;
Those of Pharaoh's officials who took seriously what the Lord said rushed to bring their servants and livestock inside.
21 fa izay tsy nandatsaka am-po ny tenin’ i Jehovah kosa dia namela ny mpanompony sy ny bibiny tany an-tsaha ihany.
But those who didn't care what the Lord said left their servants and livestock outside.
22 Ary hoy Jehovah tamin’ i Mosesy: Ahinjiro manandrify ny lanitra ny tananao, dia hisy havandra hilatsaka amin’ ny tany Egypta rehetra, dia amin’ ny olona sy amin’ ny biby fiompy ary amin’ ny anana rehetra any an-tsaha eran’ ny tany Egypta.
The Lord told Moses, “Lift your hand towards the sky so that a hailstorm will fall over the whole of Egypt, on people and on animals, and on everything growing in the fields of Egypt.”
23 Dia nahinjitr’ i Mosesy manandrify ny lanitra ny tehiny; ary Jehovah nanisy kotrokorana sy havandra, ary nisy afo nifanaretsadretsaka teny ambonin’ ny tany; ary Jehovah nandatsaka havandra tamin’ ny tany Egypta.
Moses held up his staff toward heaven, and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and made lightning hit the ground. This is how the Lord rained hail down on Egypt.
24 Dia nisy havandra sy afo nifandrambondrambona tanelanelan’ ny havandra; dia mafy indrindra izany, ka tsy mbola nisy toy izany tany amin’ ny tany Egypta rehetra hatrizay naha-firenena azy.
As the hail fell it was accompanied by lightning flashing back and forth. The hail that fell was so severe that nothing like it had ever been seen in the whole of Egypt since the beginning of its history.
25 Ary ny havandra namely izay rehetra tany an-tsaha, na olona na biby fiompy, eran’ ny tany Egypta rehetra; ny anana rehetra tany an-tsaha dia nasian’ ny havandra koa, ary ny hazo rehetra tany an-tsaha notapatapahiny.
All across Egypt hail hit everything in the fields, both people and animals. It knocked down everything growing in the fields, and stripped every tree bare.
26 Fa tao amin’ ny tany Gosena izay nitoeran’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely ihany no tsy mba nisy havandra.
Only in the land of Goshen where the Israelites lived was there no hail.
27 Dia naniraka Farao nampaka an’ i Mosesy sy Arona ka nanao taminy hoe: Efa nanota aho tamin’ izao, ka Jehovah no marina, fa izaho sy ny vahoakako no meloka.
Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and told them, “I admit that I sinned this time! The Lord is right, and I and my people are wrong!
28 Mangataha amin’ i Jehovah, fa aoka izay ny kotrokorana sy ny havandra, dia halefako tsy hitoetra eto intsony ianareo.
Pray to the Lord for us, because there's been more than enough of God's thunder and hail. I will let you leave. You don't need to stay here any longer.”
29 Ary hoy Mosesy taminy: Raha vao mivoaka amin’ ny tanàna aho, dia hamelatra ny tanako amin’ i Jehovah; koa dia hitsahatra ny kotrokorana, ary ny havandra dia tsy hisy intsony, mba hahafantaranao fa an’ i Jehovah ny tany.
“Once I've left the city, I will pray to the Lord for you,” Moses told him. “The thunder will stop, and there'll be no more hail, so that you will realize that the earth belongs to the Lord.
30 Kanefa fantatro fa ianao sy ny mpanomponao dia tsy mbola hatahotra an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitra ihany.
But I know you and your officials still do not really respect the Lord our God.”
31 Ary efa naripaka ny rongony sy ny vary hordea; fa efa niteraka ny vary hordea, ary efa namony ny rongony.
(The flax and barley were destroyed, because the barley was ripe and the flax was flowering.
32 Fa ny vary tritika sy ny ampemby no tsy mba naripaka, satria mbola fohy ireny.
However, the wheat and the spelt were not destroyed because they grow later.)
33 Ary Mosesy niala teo amin’ i Farao ka nankeo ivelan’ ny tanàna, dia namelatra ny tànany tamin’ i Jehovah, ka dia nitsahatra ny kotrokorana sy ny havandra, ary tsy nisy ranonorana nilatsaka tamin’ ny tany intsony.
Moses left Pharaoh and went out of the city, and prayed to the Lord. The thunder and hail stopped, and the rainstorm finished.
34 Ary nony hitan’ i Farao fa nitsahatra ny ranonorana sy ny havandra ary ny kotrokorana, dia mbola nanota ihany indray izy; ary samy nanamafy ny fony izy sy ny mpanompony.
When Pharaoh saw that the rain and hail and thunder had stopped, he sinned again, and he chose to become stubborn again, along with his officials.
35 Dia nihamafy ny fon’ i Farao ka tsy mba nandefa ny Zanak’ Isiraely izy, araka izay efa nampilazain’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy.
Because of his stubborn attitude, Pharaoh would not let the Israelites leave, just as the Lord had predicted through Moses.
