< Eksodosy 8 >

1 Dia hoy Jehovah tamin’ i Mosesy: Mankanesa ao amin’ i Farao, ka lazao aminy hoe: Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah: Alefaso ny oloko hanompo Ahy.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and tell him that this is what the LORD says: ‘Let My people go, so that they may worship Me.
2 Fa raha mandà ka tsy mandefa azy ianao, indro, Izaho hamely ny taninao rehetra amin’ ny sahona;
But if you refuse to let them go, I will plague your whole country with frogs.
3 dia hisy sahona betsaka any Neily, ary hiakatra ireny ka hankao amin’ ny tranonao sy ny trano fandrianao sy eny ambonin’ ny farafaranao sy any amin’ ny tranon’ ny mpanomponao sy amin’ ny vahoakanao ary eny amin’ ny fanendasa-mofonao sy eny amin’ ny vilia fanaova-mofonao.
The Nile will teem with frogs, and they will come into your palace and up to your bedroom and onto your bed, into the houses of your officials and your people, and into your ovens and kneading bowls.
4 Dia ho aminao sy ny vahoakanao ary ny mpanomponao rehetra no hiakaran’ ny sahona.
The frogs will come up on you and your people and all your officials.’”
5 Ary hoy Jehovah tamin’ i Mosesy: Lazao amin’ i Arona hoe: Ahinjiro ny tananao mitana ny tehinao eny ambonin’ ny sampan-drano ary eny ambonin ny lahin-drano sy ny heniheny, ka mampiakara ny sahona ho eny amin’ ny tany Egypta.
And the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your staff over the rivers and canals and ponds, and cause the frogs to come up onto the land of Egypt.’”
6 Ary nahinjitr’ i Arona tambonin’ ny rano tany Egypta ny tànany; dia niakatra ny sahona ka nandrakotra ny tany Egypta.
So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.
7 Ary ny ombiasy mba nanao toy izany koa tamin’ ny fankatovany ka nampiakatra ny sahona ho eny amin’ ny tany Egypta.
But the magicians did the same thing by their magic arts, and they also brought frogs up onto the land of Egypt.
8 Ary Farao dia nampaka an’ i Mosesy sy Arona ka nanao hoe: Mangataha amin’ i Jehovah hampialany ny sahona amiko sy amin’ ny vahoakako; dia halefako ny olona mba hamono any zavatra hatao fanatitra ho an’ i Jehovah.
Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Pray to the LORD to take the frogs away from me and my people. Then I will let your people go, that they may sacrifice to the LORD.”
9 Ary hoy Mosesy tamin’ i Farao: Aoka hiseho ny voninahitrao noho izay hataoko; rahoviana no hangatahako ho anao sy ny mpanomponao ary ny vahoakanao, hanesorana ny sahona aminao sy amin’ ny tranonao, ka ho ao Neily ihany no hisy azy?
Moses said to Pharaoh, “You may have the honor over me. When shall I pray for you and your officials and your people that the frogs (except for those in the Nile) may be taken away from you and your houses?”
10 Dia hoy izy: Rahampitso. Ary hoy kosa izy: Aoka àry dia ho araka ny teninao, mba hahafantaranao fa tsy misy tahaka an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitray.
“Tomorrow,” Pharaoh answered. “May it be as you say,” Moses replied, “so that you may know that there is no one like the LORD our God.
11 Ary ny sahona dia hiala aminao sy amin’ ny tranonao sy ny mpanomponao ary ny vahoakanao, ka ho ao Neily ihany no hisy azy.
The frogs will depart from you and your houses and your officials and your people; they will remain only in the Nile.”
12 Ary Mosesy sy Arona niala teo amin’ i Farao; ary Mosesy nitaraina tamin’ i Jehovah ny amin’ ny sahona izay efa nataony tamin’ i Farao.
After Moses and Aaron had left Pharaoh, Moses cried out to the LORD for help with the frogs that He had brought against Pharaoh.
13 Dia nataon’ i Jehovah araka ny tenin’ i Mosesy, ka maty ny sahona teny amin’ ny trano sy teny amin’ ny tokotany ary tany an-tsaha.
And the LORD did as Moses requested, and the frogs in the houses, the courtyards, and the fields died.
14 Dia nangonina hivangongo teny rehetra eny ireny, ka efa maimbo ny tany.
They were piled into countless heaps, and there was a terrible stench in the land.
15 Fa nony hitan’ i Farao fa nisy hiainana, dia nanamafy ny fony izy ka tsy mba nihaino azy mirahalahy, dia araka izay efa nolazain’ i Jehovah.
When Pharaoh saw that there was relief, however, he hardened his heart and would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said.
16 Dia hoy Jehovah tamin’ i Mosesy: Lazao amin’ i Arona hoe; Ahinjiro ny tehinao, ka kapohy ny vovo-tany, dia ho tonga moka eran’ ny tany Egypta rehetra izany.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, that it may turn into swarms of gnats throughout the land of Egypt.’”
17 Dia nanao toy izany izy, ka nahinjitr’ i Arona ny tànany mitana ny tehiny, ary nokapohiny ny vovo-tany, dia nisy moka teny amin’ ny olona sy teny amin’ ny biby fiompy: fa tonga moka avokoa ny vovo-tany rehetra eran’ ny tany Egypta rehetra.
This they did, and when Aaron stretched out his hand with his staff and struck the dust of the earth, gnats came upon man and beast. All the dust of the earth turned into gnats throughout the land of Egypt.
18 Ary mba nanao toy izany koa ny ombiasy tamin’ ny fankatovany mba hahatonga moka, kanjo tsy nahay izy; ary ny moka dia teny amin’ ny olona sy teny amin’ ny biby fiompy.
The magicians tried to produce gnats using their magic arts, but they could not. And the gnats remained on man and beast.
19 Dia hoy ny ombiasy tamin’ i Farao: Rantsan-tànan’ Andriamanitra ity; nefa nihamafy ny fon’ i Farao, ka tsy nihaino azy mirahalahy izy, dia araka izay efa nolazain’ i Jehovah.
“This is the finger of God,” the magicians said to Pharaoh. But Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he would not listen to them, just as the LORD had said.
20 Dia hoy Jehovah tamin’ i Mosesy: Mifohaza maraina koa, ka mitsangàna eo anatrehan’ i Farao (fa, indro, hivoaka ho any amin’ ny rano izy), ka lazao aminy hoe: Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah: Alefaso ny oloko hanompo Ahy.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Get up early in the morning, and when Pharaoh goes out to the water, stand before him and tell him that this is what the LORD says: ‘Let My people go, so that they may worship Me.
21 Fa raha tsy mandefa ny oloko ianao, indro Aho handefa lalitra betsaka hamely anao sy ny mpanomponao sy ny vahoakanao ary ny tranonao; dia ho feno lalitra ny tranon’ ny Egyptiana sy ny tany izay itoerany koa.
But if you will not let My people go, I will send swarms of flies upon you and your officials and your people and your houses. The houses of the Egyptians and even the ground where they stand will be full of flies.
22 Fa havahako amin’ izany andro izany ny tany Gosena, izay itoeran’ ny oloko, ka tsy mba hisy lalitra ao, mba hahafantaranao fa Izaho no Jehovah afovoan’ ny tany.
But on that day I will give special treatment to the land of Goshen, where My people live; no swarms of flies will be found there. In this way you will know that I, the LORD, am in the land.
23 Dia hasiako fiavahana amin’ ny oloko sy ny olonao; rahampitso no hisian’ izany famantarana izany.
I will make a distinction between My people and your people. This sign will take place tomorrow.’”
24 Ary nataon’ i Jehovah izany; ka dia nisy lalitra be dia be tao amin’ ny tranon’ i Farao sy tao amin’ ny tranon’ ny mpanompony ary teny amin’ ny tany Egypta rehetra; koa dia simba ny tany noho ny lalitra.
And the LORD did so. Thick swarms of flies poured into Pharaoh’s palace and into the houses of his officials. Throughout Egypt the land was ruined by swarms of flies.
25 Ary Farao nampaka an’ i Mosesy sy Arona ka nanao hoe: Mandehana ianareo hamono zavatra hatao fanatitra ho an’ Andriamanitrareo eto amin’ ity tany ity.
Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God within this land.”
26 Fa hoy Mosesy: Tsy azo atao izany; fa izay fadin’ ny Egyptiana no hovonoinay hatao fanatitra ho an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitray; koa, indro, raha izay fadin’ ny Egyptiana no vonoinay eo imasony hatao fanatitra, moa tsy hotorahany vato va izahay?
But Moses replied, “It would not be right to do that, because the sacrifices we offer to the LORD our God would be detestable to the Egyptians. If we offer sacrifices that are detestable before the Egyptians, will they not stone us?
27 Handeha lalan-kateloana any an-efitra izahay, dia hamono zavatra hatao fanatitra ho an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitray, araka izay holazainy aminay.
We must make a three-day journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the LORD our God as He commands us.”
28 Ary hoy Farao: Izaho dia handefa anareo ihany mba hamono zavatra hatao fanatitra ho an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrareo any an-efitra; fa hany ataoko: aza mandeha lavitra loatra ianareo; dia mangataha ho ahy.
Pharaoh answered, “I will let you go and sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness, but you must not go very far. Now pray for me.”
29 Ary hoy Mosesy: Indro, izaho hiala eto aminao ka hangataka amin’ i Jehovah mba hialan’ ny lalitra amin’ i Farao sy ny mpanompony ary ny vahoakany rahampitso; fa aoka kosa tsy hamitaka intsony Farao ka tsy handefa ny olona hamono zavatra hatao fanatitra ho an i’ Jehovah.
“As soon as I leave you,” Moses said, “I will pray to the LORD, so that tomorrow the swarms of flies will depart from Pharaoh and his officials and his people. But Pharaoh must not act deceitfully again by refusing to let the people go and sacrifice to the LORD.”
30 Ary Mosesy niala teo amin’ i Farao ka nangataka tamin’ i Jehovah
Then Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the LORD,
31 Ary Jehovah dia nanao araka ny tenin’ i Mosesy ka nampiala ny lalitra betsaka tamin’ i Farao sy ny mpanompony ary ny vahoakany, ka tsy nisy niangana ireny na dia iray akory aza.
and the LORD did as Moses requested. He removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh and his officials and his people; not one fly remained.
32 Kanjo Farao nanamafy ny fony indray tamin’ izany ka tsy nandefa ny olona.
But Pharaoh hardened his heart this time as well, and he would not let the people go.
