< Eksodosy 3 >
1 Ary Mosesy niandry ny ondry aman’ osin’ i Jetro rafozany, mpisorona tao Midiana, dia nitondra ny ondry aman’ osy tany ankoatry ny efitra ka nankany Horeba, tendrombohitr’ Andriamanitra.
Moses was a shepherd, looking after the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the Midianite priest. He led the flock far into the wilderness until he came to God's mountain, Mount Horeb.
2 Ary Ilay Anjelin’ i Jehovah niseho taminy teo anaty lelafo teo amin’ ny roimemy anankiray; dia nijery izy, ka, indro, nirehitra afo ny roimemy, kanefa tsy nahalevonana.
There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from inside a bush. Moses looked carefully and saw that though the bush was on fire, it wasn't being burned up.
3 Ary hoy Mosesy: Hivily kely aho ka hizaha io fahitana lehibe io, hahafantarako izay tsy ahalevonan’ ny roimemy.
“Let me go over and take a look,” Moses said to himself. “It's very odd to see a bush that's not burning up.”
4 Ary rehefa hitan’ i Jehovah fa nivily hizaha izy, dia niantso azy tao afovoan’ ny roimemy Andriamanitra ka nanao hoe: Ry Mosesy, ry Mosesy! Dia hoy izy: Inty aho.
When the Lord saw that Moses was coming to take a look, God called to him from inside the bush, “Moses! Moses!” “I'm here,” Moses replied.
5 Ary hoy Izy: Aza manakaiky etỳ; esory ny kapanao amin’ ny tongotrao, fa tany masìna io ijanonanao io.
“Don't come any closer!” God told him. “Take off your sandals because you're standing on holy ground.”
6 Dia hoy koa Izy: Izaho no Andriamanitry ny razanao, dia Andriamanitr’ i Abrahama sy Andriamanitr’ Isaka ary Andriamanitr’ i Jakoba. Dia nisaron-tava Mosesy, fa natahotra hijery an’ Andriamanitra izy.
Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses covered his face, because he was afraid to look at God.
7 Ary hoy Jehovah: Efa hitako tokoa ny fahorian’ ny oloko izay any Egypta, ary efa reko ny fitarainany noho ny ataon’ ny mpampiasa azy; eny, fantatro ny alahelony;
“I'm completely aware of the misery of my people in Egypt,” the Lord told him. “I have heard them crying out because of their taskmasters. I know how much they're suffering.
8 dia efa nidina Aho izao hamonjy azy amin’ ny tanan’ ny Egyptiana ka hitondra azy hiakatra hiala amin’ izany tany izany ho any amin’ izay tany soa sy malalaka, dia any amin’ izay tany tondra-dronono sy tantely, any amin’ ny tanin’ ny Kananita sy ny Hetita sy ny Amorita sy ny Perizita sy ny Hivita ary ny Jebosita.
That's why I have come down to rescue them from Egyptian oppression and to take them up from that country to a productive, wide-open land—a land flowing with milk and honey—where currently the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites are living.
9 Ary ankehitriny, indro, ny fitarainan’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely dia efa mby atỳ amiko, sady efa hitako koa ny fahoriana izay ampahorian’ ny Egyptiana azy.
Listen! The cries of the Israelites have reached me, and I have seen how badly the Egyptians are mistreating them.
10 Koa avia ankehitriny ianao hirahiko ho any amin’ i Farao hitondra ny Zanak’ Isiraely oloko hivoaka avy any Egypta.
Now you must leave, because I'm sending you to Pharaoh to lead my people Israel out of Egypt.”
11 Fa hoy Mosesy tamin’ Andriamanitra: Iza moa aho no hankany amin’ i Farao sy hitondra ny Zanak’ Isiraely hivoaka avy any Egypta?
But Moses said to God, “Why me? I'm a nobody! I couldn't go to Pharaoh and lead the Israelites out of Egypt!”
12 Ary hoy Izy: Homba anao tokoa Aho; ary izao no famantarana ho anao fa Izaho no efa naniraka anao; rehefa entinao mivoaka avy any Egypta ny olona, dia hanompo an’ Andriamanitra eto amin’ ity tendrombohitra ity ianareo.
“I'll be with you,” the Lord replied, “and this will be the sign that it is really me who is sending you: when you have led the people out of Egypt, you will worship God at this very mountain.”
13 Ary hoy Mosesy tamin’ Andriamanitra: Indro, rehefa tonga any amin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely aho ka manao aminy hoe: Andriamanitry ny razanareo no efa naniraka ahy ho atỳ aminareo, ary hanao amiko hoe kosa izy: Iza moa no anarany? dia ahoana no havaliko azy?
Then Moses said to God, “Look! If I were to go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ —then what should I tell them?”
14 Ary hoy Andriamanitra tamin’ i Mosesy: IZAHO, IZAY IZY HATRIZAY HATRIZAY KA HO MANDRAKIZAY. Ary hoy koa Izy: Izao no holazainao amin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely: IZAHO IZAY Izy no efa naniraka ahy ho atỳ aminareo.
God replied to Moses, “‘I Am’ is who I am. Tell the Israelites this: ‘I Am’ has sent me to you.”
15 Ary hoy koa Andriamanitra tamin’ i Mosesy: Izao no holazainao amin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely: Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny razanareo, dia Andriamanitr’ i Abrahama sy Andriamanitr’ i Isaka ary Andriamanitr’ i Jakoba, no efa naniraka ahy ho atỳ aminareo; izany no anarako mandrakizay, ary izany no hahatsiarovana Ahy hatramin’ ny taranaka fara mandimby.
Then God said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you. This is my name forever, the name you are to call me for all generations to come.’
16 Mandehana, dia angòny ny loholon’ ny Isiraely, ka lazao aminy hoe: Efa niseho tamiko Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny razanareo, dia Andriamanitr’ i Abrahama sy Isaka ary Jakoba, ka nanao hoe: Efa namangy anareo tokoa Aho ka nahita ny anaovana anareo atỳ Egypta;
Go, and call all the elders of Israel to meet with you. Tell them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, has appeared to me—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He said, “I have paid close attention to what's been happening to you in Egypt.
17 ary hoy Izaho: Hitondra anareo hiakatra Aho ho afaka amin’ ny fahoriana atỳ Egypta ho any amin’ ny tanin’ ny Kananita sy ny Hetita sy ny Amorita sy ny Perizita sy ny Hivita ary ny Jebosita, ho any amin’ izay tany tondra-dronono sy tantely.
I have decided to take you away from the misery you're having in Egypt and bring you to the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, a land flowing with milk and honey.”
18 Dia hihaino ny feonao izy; ary hankao amin’ ny mpanjakan’ i Egypta ianao sy ny loholon’ ny Isiraely ka hilaza aminy hoe: Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Hebreo, efa nihaona taminay; ary ankehitriny, trarantitra ianao, aoka handeha lalan-kateloana any an-efitra izahay mba hamono zavatra hatao fanatitra ho an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitray.
“The elders of Israel will accept what you say. Then you must go with them to the king of Egypt and tell him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews has revealed himself to us. So please let us go three days journey into the desert so we can offer sacrifices to the Lord our God there.’
19 Kanefa Izaho mahalala fa tsy havelan’ ny mpanjakan’ i Egypta handeha ianareo, tsia, na dia amin’ ny tanana mahery aza.
But I know that the king of Egypt won't let you go unless he's forced to do so by a power stronger than him.
20 Dia haninjitra ny tanako Aho ka hamely an’ i Egypta amin’ ny fahagagana rehetra izay hataoko eo aminy; ary rehefa afaka izany, dia vao handefa anareo izy.
So I will use my power to inflict on Egypt all the terrifying things that I'm about to do to them. After that he'll let you go.
21 Ary hataoko mahita fitia eo imason’ ny Egyptiana ity firenena ity, ka raha handeha ianareo, dia tsy mba handeha maina;
I will make the Egyptians treat you well as a people, so when you go you won't leave empty-handed.
22 fa ny vehivavy samy hangataka firavaka volafotsy sy volamena ary fitafiana amin’ ny miray monina aminy sy amin’ izay mivahiny ao an-tranony; dia hataonareo amin’ ny zanakareo-lahy sy ny zanakareo-vavy izany, ka dia hofoananareo ny Egyptiana.
Every woman will ask her neighbor as well as any woman living in her house for silver and gold jewelry and clothing, and put them on your sons and daughters. In this way you will take the wealth of the Egyptians with you.”
