1 Ary asaovy manatona anao Arona rahalahinao mbamin’ ny zanany, avy amin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely, mba ho mpisorona ho Ahy izy, dia Arona mbamin’ i Nadaba sy Abiho sy Eleazara ary Itamara, zanak’ i Arona.
Thou thyself, therefore bring near unto thee—Aaron thy brother and his sons with him out of the midst of the sons of Israel, that they may minister as priests unto me, —Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar sons of Aaron.
2 Ary manaova fitafiana masìna ho an’ i Arona rahalahinao ho voninahitra sy ho fahatsaran-tarehy.
And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, —for glory and for beauty.
3 Ary mitenena amin’ izay hendry fo, izay nofenoiko fanahim-pahendrena, mba hanao ny fitafian’ i Arona hanamasinana azy ho mpisorona ho Ahy.
Thou thyself, therefore, shalt speak unto all the wise-hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, —and they shall make Aaron’s garments, to hallow him for ministering as priest unto me.
4 Ary izao no fitafiana izay hataony: saron-tratra sy efoda sy akanjo ivelany sy akanjo lava tenom-boaroy sy hamama ary fehin-kibo; dia hanao fitafiana masìna ho an’ i Arona rahalahinao izy, sy ho an’ ny zanany, mba ho mpisorona ho Ahy izy.
These, therefore are the garments which they shall make—a breastpiece, and an ephod and a robe, and a tunic of checker work, a turban and a girdle, —so shall they make holy garments for Aaron thy brother and for his sons, for ministering as priests unto me.
5 Ary aoka haka ny volamena sy ny manga sy ny volomparasy sy ny mena ary ny rongony fotsy madinika izy.
They themselves, therefore, shall take the gold, and the blue and the purple, —and the crimson, and the fine linen.
6 Dia aoka izy hanao ny efoda amin’ ny volamena sy manga sy volomparasy sy mena ary rongony fotsy madinika voahasina, asan’ ny mpanenona mahay.
And they shall make the ephod, —of gold, blue and purple crimson and fine-twined linen, the work of a skilful weaver.
7 Aoka hisy soroka roa avy amin’ ny sisiny roa hampikambana azy.
Two joining shoulderpieces, shall there be to it upon the two extremities thereof that it may be joined together,
8 Ary ny fehin-kibo momba ny efoda, izay eo amboniny ka hiray aminy sady hitovy tarehy aminy, dia hatao volamena sy manga sy volomparasy sy mena ary rongony fotsy madinika voahasina.
And the curious band for fastening it, that is upon it, like the work thereof of the same, shall it be, —of gold blue and purple and crimson and fine-twined linen,
9 Ary makà vato beryla roa, ka soraty eo aminy ny anaran’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely:
And thou shalt take two onyx stones, —and engrave upon them the names of the sons of Israel:
10 ny anarany enina amin’ ny vato iray, ary ny anarany enina kosa amin’ ny vato iray, araka ny fizokiany;
six of their names, on the one stone, —and the names of the six that remain, on the second stone according to their births:
11 amin’ ny asan’ ny mpanora-bato, tahaka ny fanoratana fanombohan-kase, no hanoratanao ny vato roa, araka ny anaran’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely; ary asio randram-bolamena manodidina izy,
with the work of a stone engraver, like seal-ring engravings, shalt thou engrave the two stones, after the names of the sons of Israel, —to be encircled with settings of gold, shalt thou make them.
12 Ary ataovy eo amin’ ny soroky ny efoda ny vato roa, ho vato fahatsiarovana ho an’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely; ary Arona hitondra ireo anarany ireo eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah amin’ ny sorony roa ho fahatsiarovana.
And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulderpieces of the ephod, as stones of memorial for the sons of Israel, —so shall Aaron bear their names before Yahweh upon his two shoulders, for a memorial.
13 Ary manaova randram-bolamena
And thou shalt make ouches of gold;
14 sy olam-bolamena tsara roa; mifanolana toy ny tady no hanaovanao ireo, ary hataonao eo amin’ ny randram-bolamena ireo alom-bolamena toy ny tady ireo.
and two chains of pure gold, like cord, shalt thou make them, of wreathen work, and thou shalt put the wreathen chains on the ouches.
15 Ary manaova saron-tratra fitsarana, ka asan’ ny mpanenona mahay, toy ny nanaovana ny efoda, no hanaovanao azy; volamena sy manga sy volomparasy sy mena ary rongony fotsy madinika voahasina no hanaovanao azy.
And thou shalt make a breastpiece for giving sentence the work of a skilful weaver, like the work of the ephod, shalt thou make it, of gold, blue, and purple and crimson and fine-twined linen, shalt thou make it.
16 Ho efa-joro miforitra roa izy, ary ho irain-jehy avy ny lafiny efatra.
Four-square, shall it be double, —a span the length thereof and a span the breadth thereof.
17 Ary asio vato alatsaka an-tranontranony izy, dia vato efatra an-dalana: ny an-dalana voalohany dia karnelia sy topaza ary emeralda;
And thou shalt set therein a setting of stones, four rows of stones, —one row—a sardius, a topaz and an emerald, the first row;
18 ary ny an-dalana faharoa dia robina sy safira ary onyksa;
and the second row a carbuncle a sapphire and a diamond;
19 ary ny an-dalana fahatelo dia opala sy agata ary ametysta;
and the third row an opal, an agate, and an amethyst;
20 ary ny an-dalana fahefatra dia krysolita sy beryla ary jaspy; ary asio randram-bolamena ny fitoerany avy.
and the fourth row, a Tarshish stone, a sardonyx, and a jasper, —enclosed with gold, shall they be when they are set.
21 Ary ny vato dia alaharo araka ny anaran’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely, dia roa ambin’ ny folo araka ny anarany; ary hisy soratra toy ny amin’ ny fanombohan-kase, ho amin’ ny firenena roa ambin’ ny folo araka ny anarany avy.
And the stones shall be after the names of the sons of Israel—twelve, after their names, —as the engravings of a seal-ring everyone after his name, shall they be, for the twelve tribes,
22 Ary eo amin’ ny saron-tratra asio olam-bolamena tsara mifanolana toy ny tady.
And thou shalt make, upon the breastpiece, chains like cords of wreathen work, —of pure gold.
23 Ary manaova vava volamena roa ho eo amin’ ny saron-tratra; ary ny vava vola roa dia ataovy eo amin’ ny zorony roa ambony amin’ ny saron-tratra.
And thou shalt make, upon the breastpiece, two rings of gold, —and thou shalt place the two rings, upon the two ends of the breastpiece.
24 Ary ny tady volamena roa dia ataovy eo amin’ ny vava vola roa, izay amin’ ny zorony roa ambony amin’ ny saron-tratra.
And thou shalt hang the two wreathen chains of gold upon the two rings, —upon the ends of the breastpiece;
25 Ary ny lanin’ ny tady roa dia ataovy eo amin’ ny soroky ny efoda anoloana.
and the other two ends of the two wreathen chains, shalt thou fasten upon the two ouches, so shalt thou hang them upon the shoulderpieces of the ephod, in the forefront thereof.
26 Ary manaova vava volamena roa, ka ataovy amin’ ny zorony roa ambany amin’ ny saron-tratra, dia amin’ ny sisiny anatiny, izay manolotra ny efoda.
And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastpiece upon the border thereof, which is on the side of the ephod inwards.
27 Ary manaova vava volamena roa koa, ka ataovy eo amin’ ny soroko roa amin’ ny efoda, dia ao ambaniny, eo anoloany, akaikin’ ny fikambanany, eo ambonin’ ny fehin-kibo momba ny efoda.
And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and place them upon the two shoulderpieces of the ephod beneath, on the front of the face thereof, over against its joining, above the curious band of the ephod:
28 Ary kofehy manga no hamehezana ny vava volan’ ny saron-tratra amin’ ny vava volan’ ny efoda, mba ho eo ambonin’ ny fehin-kibo momba ny efoda ny saron-tratra, ka tsy ho afaka eo.
that they may bind the breastpiece by the rings thereof unto the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue, so that it may remain upon the curious band of the ephod, and the breastpiece not be removed from of the ephod.
29 Ary Arona hitondra ny anaran’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely eo amin’ ny saron-tratra fitsarana manolotra ny fony, raha miditra amin’ ny fitoerana masìna izy, mba ho fahatsiarovana mandrakariva eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah.
So shall Aaron bear the names of the sons of Israel in the breastpiece for giving sentence upon his heart when he goeth into the holy place, —for a memorial before Yahweh continually.
30 Ary ataovy eo amin’ ny saron-tratra fitsarana ny Orima sy Tomima; ary hanolotra ny fon’ i Arona izany, raha miditra eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah izy; ka dia ho entin’ i Arona manolotra ny fony mandrakariva eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah ny fitsarana ny Zanak’ Isiraely.
Thus shalt thou place, in the breastpiece for giving sentence, the lights and the perfections, so shall they be upon the heart of Aaron when he goeth in before Yahweh, —so shall Aaron bear the sentence of the sons of Israel, upon his heart before Yahweh continually.
31 Ary ny akanjo ivelany misy ny efoda dia ataovy manga avokoa.
And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod wholly of blue;
32 Ary asio vozony eo afovoany, ary aoka hisy sisiny voatenona manodidina ny vozony, tahaka ny vozon’ ny akanjo fiarovan-tratra, mba tsy hahatriatra azy.
and the opening for his head shall be in the midst thereof, —a border, shall there be to the opening thereof round about the work of a weaver, like the opening of a coat of mail, shall there be to it, it must not be rent.
33 Ary asio sarin’ ampongabendanitra manga sy volomparasy sy mena manodidina eny amin’ ny moron-tongony, ary famohamandry volamena kosa eo anelanelany manodidina:
And thou shalt make upon the skirts thereof pomegranates of blue and purple and crimson, upon the skirts thereof round about—and bells of gold in the midst of them round about:
34 dia famohamandry sy sarin’ ampongabendanitra mifanelanelana manodidina eny amin’ ny moron-tongotry ny akanjo ivelany.
a bell of gold and a pomegranate, a bell of gold, and a pomegranate, —upon the skirts of the robe, round about.
35 Ary hiakanjoan’ i Arona izany, raha manao ny fanompoam-pivavahany izy, mba ho re ny fanenony, raha miditra amin’ ny fitoerana masìna eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah sy raha mivoaka izy, mba tsy hahafaty azy.
And it shall be upon Aaron, for ministering, —so shall be heard the sound of him—when he goeth into the holy place, before Yahweh, and cometh out, and dieth not.
36 Ary manaova takela-bolamena tsara, ka asio soratra eo aminy, araka ny fanoratana fanombohan-kase, hoe: HAMASININA HO AN’ I JEHOVAH.
And thou shalt make a burnished plate, of pure gold, —and shalt engrave thereupon, like the engravings of a seal-ring, Holiness to Yahweh.
37 Ary asio kofehy manga izy, ka ataovy eo amin’ ny hamama: dia eo anoloan’ ny hamama no hasiana azy.
And thou shalt put it upon a cord of blue, so shall it be upon the turban, —upon the forefront of the turban, shall it be.
38 Ary ho eo ambonin’ ny handrin’ i Arona izy, mba ho entin’ i Arona ny heloky ny zava-masìna, izay hohamasinin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely amin’ ny fanomezany masìna rehetra; ary ho eo amin’ ny handriny mandrakariva izany, mba hankasitrahana eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah ny olona.
So shall it be upon the forehead of Aaron, and Aaron shall bear the iniquity of the hallowed things, which the sons of Israel shall hallow, for all their hallowed gift, —and it shall be upon his forehead continually, that there may be acceptance for them before Yahweh.
39 Ary ny akanjo lava dia ataovy hariry madinika tenom-boaroy; ary manaova hamama rongony fotsy madinika sy fehin-kibo, asan’ ny mahay tenona samy hafa soratra.
And thou shalt weave, in checker work the tunic of fine linen, and shalt make a turban of fine linen, —and, a girdle, shalt thou make the work of an embroiderer.
40 Ary manaova akanjo lava ho an’ ny zanak’ i Arona, ary manaova fehin-kibo ho azy; ary manaova satroka boribory ho azy ho voninahitra sy ho fahatsaran-tarehy.
And, for the sons of Aaron, shalt thou make tunics, and shalt make for them girdles, —and caps, shalt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty.
41 Ary ataovy amin’ i Arona rahalahinao sy ny zanany koa ireo; dia manosora azy sy manokana azy ary manamasìna azy, mba ho mpisorona ho Ahy izy.
And thou shalt clothe therewith Aaron thy brother, and his sons, with him, —and shalt anoint them and install them, and hallow them, so shall they minister as priests unto me.
42 Ary manaova kalisaona fohy rongony fotsy ho azy hanarona ny fitanjahany; hatramin’ ny valahany ka hatramin’ ny feny no hisy azy.
And thou shalt make for them breeches of linen, to cover their unseemliness, from the loins even unto the thighs, shall they be;
43 Ary hiakanjoan’ i Arona sy ny zanany ireo, raha miditra amin’ ny trano-lay fihaonana izy, na manakaiky ny alitara hanao fanompoam-pivavahana ao amin’ ny fitoerana masìna, mba tsy hahazoany heloka hahafaty azy; ho lalàna mandrakizay aminy sy amin’ ny taranany mandimby azy izany.
so shall they be upon Aaron and upon his sons, when they go into the tent of meeting, or when they approach unto the altar, to minister in the holy place, lest they bear iniquity, and die, —a statute age-abiding, to him and to his seed after him.
