Efesiana 4

1 Ary noho izany izaho, mpifatotra noho ny amin’ ny Tompo, dia mangataka aminareo mba handeha miendrika ny fiantsoana izay niantsoana anareo,

I THEN, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you, that ye walk worthy of the vocation with which ye are called,

2 amin’ ny fanetren-tena rehetra sy ny fahalemem-panahy, amin’ ny fahari-po mifandefitra amin’ ny fitiavana,

with all humility and meekness, with long suffering, forbearing one another in love;

3 mazoto mitana ny firaisana avy amin’ ny Fanahy amin’ ny fehim-pihavanana.

careful to preserve unity of spirit, in the bond of peace.

4 Iray ny tena, ary iray ny Fanahy, dia toy ny niantsoana anareo ho amin’ ny fanantenana iray momba ny fiantsoana anareo;

There is one body, and one spirit, even as ye have been called to one hope of your calling;

5 iray ny Tompo, iray ny finoana, iray ny batisa,

one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

6 iray Andriamanitra sady Rain’ izy rehetra, Izay ambonin’ izy rehetra sy manerana azy rehetra ary ao amin’ izy rehetra.

one God, and father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

7 Fa samy nomena ny fahasoavana araka ny ohatry ny fanomezan’ i Kristy avy isika rehetra.

But to every one of us hath the grace been given, according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

8 Koa izany no ilazany hoe: Raha niakatra ho any amin’ ny avo Izy, dia nitondra olona maro ho babo Ka nanome fanomezana ho an’ ny olona.

Wherefore the Scripture saith, “When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.”

9 (Ary ny amin’ ny hoe niakatra, inona moa izany, afa-tsy ny efa nidina ho any ambanin’ ny tany koa?

Now this, that he ascended, what does it imply? but that he also first descended into the more internal parts of the earth?

10 Izay nidina, dia Izy koa no Ilay niakatra any ambonin’ ny lanitra rehetra, hamenoany ny zavatra rehetra.)

He that descended is the same also, who ascended above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.

11 Ary Izy no nanome ny sasany ho Apostoly, ary ny sasany ho mpaminany, ary ny sasany ho evanjelista, ary ny sasany ho mpiandry sy mpampianatra,

And he himself appointed, some indeed apostles, and some prophets; and others preachers of the Gospel; and others pastors and teachers;

12 ho fanatanterahana ny olona masìna, ho amin’ ny asan’ ny fanompoana amin’ ny fiangonana, ho amin’ ny fampandrosoana ny tenan’ i Kristy,

for the perfecting the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edification of the body of Christ:

13 mandra-pahatongantsika rehetra ho amin’ ny firaisan’ ny finoana sy ny fahalalana tsara ny Zanak’ Andriamanitra, ka ho lehilahy lehibe, mahatratra ny ohatry ny halehiben’ ny fahafenoan’ i Kristy;

until we all attain in the unity of the faith, and the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a state of complete manhood, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

14 mba tsy ho zaza intsony isika, ka ahilangilana sy ampitambolimbolenin’ ny rivotry ny fampianarana samy hafa rehetra amin’ ny saim-petsy ataon’ ny olona sy ny fihendreny hahatanteraka ny hevitry ny famitahana;

that we should be no longer infants, floating on the waves, and carried about with every wind of novel doctrine, by the juggling of men, by their craftiness after the delusive wiles of error;

15 fa mba hanaraka ny marina amin’ ny fitiavana ka hitombo amin’ ny ny zavatra rehetra ho amin’ izay Loha, dia Kristy;

but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, who is the head, even Christ:

16 Izy no itomboan’ ny tena rehetra (izay akambana sy ampiarahina tsara) noho ny fifanompoan’ ny isan-tonony, araka ny fiàsan’ izay rehetra momba azy amin’ izay mety ho anjara-asany avy ka hampandrosoany ny tenany amin’ ny fitiavana.

From whom the whole body nicely joined together, and firmly connected by every joint of exact proportion, according to the energy exerted in the measure of every several part, causeth the increase of the body unto the edification of itself in love.

17 Koa izao no lazaiko sady ambarako ao amin’ ny Tompo: ny tsy mba handehananareo intsony tahaka ny fandehan’ ny jentilisa amin’ ny fahafoanan’ ny sainy;

This then I urge and testify in the Lord, that ye walk no more as the other Gentiles walk in the vanity of their mind,

18 fa efa tonga maizin-tsaina sy olon-ko azy amin’ ny fiainan’ Andriamanitra ireny noho ny tsi-fahalalana ny anatiny, noho ny hamafin’ ny fony,

darkened in understanding; alienated from the life of God through the ignorance which is in them; through the blindness of their hearts:

19 dia olona tsy mahalala henatra intsony ka nanolo-tena ho amin’ ny fijejojejoana hanao izay fahalotoana rehetra amin’ ny fieremana.

who insensible to remorse, have delivered themselves over in lasciviousness, to the practice of all impurity, with insatiable avidity.

20 Fa ianareo kosa, dia tsy mba toy izany no nianaranareo an’ i Kristy,

But ye have not so learned Christ;

21 raha Izy tokoa no renareo ka tao aminy no nampianarana anareo, araka ny fahamarinana izay ao amin’ i Jesosy,

if indeed ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

22 mba hialanareo ny toetrareo taloha araka ny fitondran-tenanareo fahiny, izay mihasimba araka ny filan’ ny fitaka;

that ye put off respecting your former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful passions;

23 fa mba hohavaozina kosa ianareo amin’ ny fanahin’ ny sainareo,

but be renewed in the spirit of your minds;

24 ary mba hotafinareo ny toetra vaovao, izay noforonina araka an’ Andriamanitra amin’ ny fahitsiana sy ny fahamasinana momba ny fahamarinana.

and put on the new man, which is created godlike, in righteousness and true holiness.

25 Koa esory ny lainga, ka samia milaza ny marina amin’ ny namany avy ianareo rehetra; fa samy isan’ ny momba ny tenan’ ny namantsika avokoa isika.

Wherefore putting away lying, speak truth, every one with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

26 Tezera, fa aza manota; ary aoka tsy ho tratry ny masoandro milentika ny fahatezeranareo.

Are ye provoked; and do you not sin? let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27 Aza manome fitoerana ho an’ ny devoly.

nor give place to the devil.

28 Aoka izay nangalatra tsy hangalatra intsony; fa aleo hikely aina ka hiasa izay tsara amin’ ny tànany, mba hisy homeny izay tsy manana.

Let him that stole steal no more; but rather labour hard, working with his hands that which is good, that he may have something to give to him that is in want.

29 Aoka tsy haloaky ny vavanareo izay teny maloto, fa izay tsara ho fampandrosoana, araka izay tokony hanaovana, mba hahazoan’ ny mihaino fahasoavana.

Let no loose discourse proceed out of your mouth, but whatever is good for useful edification, that it may communicate grace to the hearers.

30 Ary aza mampalahelo ny Fanahy Masin’ Andriamanitra, Izay nanisiana tombo-kase anareo ho amin’ ny andro fanavotana.

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye have been sealed unto the day of redemption.

31 Esory aminareo ny fo-lentika rehetra sy ny fahavinirana sy ny fahatezerana sy ny fitabatabana sy ny fitenenan-dratsy ary ny lolompo rehetra;

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and scandal, be removed from you, with all malice:

32 ary aoka samy halemy fanahy amin’ ny namany avy ianareo, ka hifampiantra sy hifamela heloka, tahaka ny namelan’ Andriamanitra ny helokareo ao amin’ i Kristy.

but be ye kind one to another, full of sensibility, forgiving mutually, even as God in Christ hath forgiven you.
