Deotoronomia 7

1 Rehefa entin’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ianao ka tafiditra any amin’ ny tany izay efa hidiranao holovana, ary firenena maro no voaroakany hiala eo anoloanao, dia ny Hetita sy ny Girgasita sy ny Amorita sy ny Kananita sy ny Perizita sy ny Hivita ary ny Jebosita, dia firenena fito izay lehibe sy mahery noho ianao.

And when the Lord thy God shall bring thee into the land, into which thou goest to possess it, and shall remove great nations from before thee, the Chettite, and Gergesite, and Amorite, and Chananite, and Pherezite, and Evite, and Jebusite, seven nations [more] numerous and stronger than you,

2 ary rehefa voatolotr’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao eo anoloanao ireny ka resinao: dia aringano mihitsy izy; aza manao fanekena aminy, na mamindra fo aminy;

and the Lord thy God shall deliver them into thy hands, then thou shalt smite them: thou shalt utterly destroy them: thou shalt not make a covenant with them, neither shall ye pity them:

3 ary aza mifanambady anaka aminy: ny zanakao-vavy tsy homenao ho vadin’ ny zananilahy, ary ny zananivavy tsy halainao ho vadin’ ny zanakao-lahy.

neither shall ye contract marriages with them: thou shalt not give thy daughter to his son, and thou shalt not take his daughter to thy son.

4 Fa hampiala ny zanakao-lahy amin’ ny fanarahana Ahy izy mba hanompoany andriamani-kafa, dia hirehitra aminareo ny fahatezeran’ i Jehovah, ka handrifigana anao vetivety Izy.

For he will draw away thy son from me, and he will serve other gods; and the Lord will be very angry with you, and will soon utterly destroy thee.

5 Fa izao kosa no ataovinareo aminy: ny alitarany horavanao, ary ny tsangam-baton-tsampiny hovakivakinao; ny Aserahany hokapainao, ary ny sarin-javatra voasokitra hodoranao amin’ ny afo.

But thus shall ye do to them; ye shall destroy their altars, and shall break down their pillars, and shall cut down their groves, and shall burn with fire the graven images of their gods.

6 Fa firenena masìna ho an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ianao; fa ianao efa nofidin’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ho firenena rakitra soa ho Azy mihoatra noho ny firenena rehetra ambonin’ ny tany.

For thou art a holy people to the Lord thy God; and the Lord thy God chose thee to be to him a peculiar people beyond all nations that [are] upon the face of the earth.

7 Tsy ny hamaroanareo noho ny firenena rehetra anefa no niraiketan’ ny fitiavan’ i Jehovah taminareo sy nifidianany anareo, fa ianareo dia vitsy noho ny firenena rehetra aza;

It was not because ye are more numerous than all [other] nations that the Lord preferred you, and the Lord made choice of you: for ye are fewer in number than all [other] nations.

8 fa ny nitiavan’ i Jehovah anareo sy ny nitandremany ny fianianana izay efa nianianany tamin’ ny razanareo no nitondran’ i Jehovah anareo tamin’ ny tanana mahery sy nanavotany anao tamin’ ny trano nahandevozana dia tamin’ ny tànan’ i Farao, mpanjakan’ i Egypta.

But because the Lord loved you, and as keeping the oath which he sware to your fathers, the Lord brought you out with a strong hand, and the Lord redeemed thee from the house of bondage, out of the hand of Pharao king of Egypt.

9 Koa aoka ho fantatrao fa Jehovah Andriamanitrao ihany no Andriamanitra, dia Andriamanitra mahatoky, Izay mitandrina fanekena sy famindram-po amin’ izay tia Azy sy mitandrina ny didiny, hatramin’ ny taranaka arivo mandimby,

Thou shalt know therefore, that the Lord thy God, he [is] God, a faithful God, who keeps covenant and mercy for them that love him, and for those that keep his commandments to a thousand generations,

10 ary mamaly miharihary izay mandrafy Azy amin’ ny fandringanana azy; tsy hitaredretra Izy ny amin’ izay mandrafy Azy, fa hamaly azy miharihary.

and who recompenses them that hate him to their face, to destroy them utterly; and will not be slack with them that hate him: he will recompense them to their face.

11 Koa tandremo ny lalàna sy ny didy ary ny fitsipika, izay andidiako anao anio, ka araho izy.

Thou shalt keep therefore the commands, and the ordinances, and these judgments, which I command thee this day to do.

12 Ary raha mihaino ireo fitsipika ireo ianareo ka mitandrina sy manaraka azy, dia hotanterahin’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao aminao ny fanekena sy ny famindram-po, izay nianianany tamin’ ny razanao;

And it shall come to pass when ye shall have heard these ordinances, and shall have kept and done them, that the Lord thy God shall keep for thee the covenant and the mercy, which he sware to your fathers.

13 dia ho tia anao sy hitahy anao ary hahamaro anao Izy; ary Izy hitahy ny ateraky ny kibonao sy ny vokatry ny taninao, dia ny varinao sy ny ranom-boalobokao sy ny diloilonao, ary ny ateraky ny ombinao sy ny ateraky ny ondry aman’ osinao any amin’ ny tany izay nianianany tamin’ ny razanao homena anao.

And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee; and he will bless the off-spring of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the herds of thine oxen, and the flocks of thy sheep, on the land which the Lord sware to thy fathers to give to thee.

14 Hotahina ianao mihoatra noho ny firenena rehetra; tsy hisy lahy na vavy tsy hiteraka, na ianareo na ny biby fiompinareo.

Thou shalt be blessed beyond all nations; there shall not be among you an impotent or barren one, or among thy cattle.

15 Ary harovan’ i Jehovah tsy ho azon’ aretina ianao, ka tsy hisy hameliny anao ny aretin-dratsin’ i Egypta, izay fantatrao; fa hataony amin’ izay rehetra mankahala anao kosa ireny.

And the Lord thy God shall remove from thee all sickness; and none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou hast seen, and all that thou hast known, will he lay upon thee; but he will lay them upon all that hate thee.

16 Ary aoka holaninao ny firenena rehetra, izay hatolotr’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao anao, ka aoka tsy hiantra azy ny masonao; ary aza manompo ny andriamaniny, fa ho fandrika aminao ireny.

And thou shalt eat all the spoils of the nations which the Lord thy God gives thee; thine eye shall not spare them, and thou shalt not serve their gods; for this is an offence to thee.

17 Raha ianao hanao anakampo hoe: Maro noho izaho ireo firenena ireo, ka hataoko ahoana no fahay mandroaka azy?

But if thou shouldest say in thine heart, This nation [is] greater than I, how shall I be able to destroy them utterly?

18 dia aza matahotra azy ianao; fa tsarovy tsara izay nataon’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao tamin’ i Farao sy ny Egyptiana rehetra,

thou shalt not fear them; thou shalt surely remember all that the Lord thy God did to Pharao and to all the Egyptians:

19 dia ny fizahan-toetra lehibe, izay efa hitan’ ny masonao, sy ny famantarana sy ny fahagagana sy ny tanana mahery ary ny sandry nahinjitra, izay nitondran’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao anao nivoaka; fa toy izany no hataon’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao amin’ ny firenena rehetra izay atahoranao.

the great temptations which thine eyes have seen, those signs and great wonders, the strong hand, and the high arm; how the Lord thy God brought thee forth: so the Lord your God will do to all the nations, whom thou fearest in their presence.

20 Ary ny fanenitra koa dia hampandehanin’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ho eo aminy mandra-paharingan’ izay sisa sy izay efa niery ka tsy hitanao.

And the Lord thy God shall send against them the hornets, until they that are left and they that are hidden from thee be utterly destroyed.

21 Aza matahotra azy ianao; fa Jehovah Andriamanitrao no eo aminao, dia Andriamanitra lehibe sy mahatahotra.

Thou shalt not be wounded before them, because the Lord thy God in the midst of thee [is] a great and powerful God.

22 Ary horoahin’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao eo alohanao tsikelikely ireny firenena ireny; tsy haharoaka azy faingana ianao, fandrao hihamaro ny bibi-dia ka hamely anao.

And the Lord thy God shall consume these nations before thee by little and little: thou shalt not be able to consume them speedily, lest the land become desert, and the wild beasts of the field be multiplied against thee.

23 Fa hatolotr’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao eo anoloanao izy ka hataony mifanaritaka be ihany mandra-pahalany ritrany.

And the Lord thy God shall deliver them into thy hands, and thou shalt destroy them with a great destruction, until ye shall have utterly destroyed them.

24 Dia hatolony eo an-tananao koa ny mpanjakany, ka ho foananao tsy ho re intsony atỳ ambanin’ ny lanitra ny anarany; tsy hisy olona hahajanona eo anoloanao, fa haringanao avokoa izy mandra-pahalaniny.

And he shall deliver their kings into your hands, and ye shall destroy their name from that place; none shall stand up in opposition before thee, until thou shalt have utterly destroyed them.

25 Ny sarin-javatra voasokitra, izay andriamaniny, dia hodoranareo amin’ ny afo; aza mitsiriritra ny volafotsy na ny volamena izay eo aminy, na maka izany ho anao, fandrao ho voafandriny ianao, fa fahavetavetana eo imason’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao izany.

Ye shall burn with fire the graven images of their gods: thou shalt not covet [their] silver, neither shalt thou take to thyself gold from them, lest thou shouldest offend thereby, because it is an abomination to the Lord thy God.

26 Ary aza mitondra fahavetavetana ho ao an-tranonao, fandrao ho voaozona tahaka izany koa ianao; ho halanao sy ho fahavetavetana eo imasonao indrindra izany, fa zavatra voaozona.

And thou shalt not bring an abomination into thine house, so shouldest thou be an accursed thing like it; thou shalt utterly hate it, and altogether abominate it, because it is an accursed thing.
