< Deotoronomia 29 >
1 IZAO no tenin’ ny fanekena izay nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy hatao amin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely tany amin’ ny tany Moaba, afa-tsy ilay fanekena nataony taminy tao Horeba.
These are the words of the covenant which the Lord instructed Moses to form with the sons of Israel in the land of Moab, beside that covenant which he struck with them at Horeb.
2 Dia niantso ny Isiraely rehetra Mosesy ka nanao taminy hoe: Hianareo efa nahita izay rehetra nataon’ i Jehovah teo imasonareo tany amin’ ny tany Egypta tamin’ i Farao sy ny mpanompony rehetra ary ny taniny rehetra,
And Moses called all of Israel, and he said to them: “You have seen all the things that the Lord has done in your sight in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to his entire land:
3 dia ny fizahan-toetra lehibe, izay efa hitan’ ny masonao, dia ireny famantarana sy fahagagana lehibe ireny.
the great trials, which your eyes have seen, those immense signs and wonders.
4 Nefa tsy nomen’ i Jehovah fo hahalala sy maso hahita ary sofina handre ianareo mandraka androany.
But the Lord has not given you an understanding heart, and seeing eyes, and ears that are able to hear, even to this present day.
5 Dia nitondra anareo tany an-efitra efa-polo taona aho; tsy rovitra teny aminareo ny fitafianareo, ary tsy rovitra teo amin’ ny tongotrao ny kapanao.
He led you for forty years through the desert. Your garments have not been worn out, nor have the shoes on your feet been consumed by age.
6 Tsy mofo no fihinanareo, ary tsy divay na toaka no fisotronareo, mba ho fantatrareo fa Izaho no Jehovah Andriamanitrareo.
You did not eat bread, nor did you drink wine or liquor, so that you would know that I am the Lord your God.
7 Ary nony tonga tamin’ ity tany ity ianareo, dia nivoaka Sihona, mpanjakan’ i Hesbona, sy Oga, mpanjakan’ i Basana, hiady amintsika, dia resintsika izy roa lahy.
And you arrived at this place. And Sihon, the king of Heshbon, and Og, the king of Bashan, went out to meet us in battle. And we struck them down.
8 Ary nalaintsika ny taniny ka nomentsika ho zara-tanin’ ny Robenita sy ny Gadita ary ny antsasaky ny firenen’ i Manase.
And we took their land and delivered it as a possession to Ruben and to Gad, and to half of the tribe of Manasseh.
9 Dia tandremo ny tenin’ izao fanekena izao, ka araho, mba hambinina ianareo amin’ izay rehetra ataonareo.
Therefore, keep the words of this covenant, and fulfill them, so that you may understand all that you are doing.
10 Hianareo rehetra miseho eto anatrehan’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrareo anio, dia ny lehibenareo sy ny firenenareo, ny lohan’ ny firenenareo sy ny mpifehy anareo ary ny lehilahy rehetra amin’ ny Isiraely,
Today, you all stand in the sight of the Lord your God: your leaders, and tribes, and those greater by birth, and teachers, all the people of Israel,
11 ny zanakareo madinika koa sy ny vadinareo ary ny vahiny eo amin’ ny tobinareo mbamin’ ny mpikapa hazonao sy ny mpantsaka ranonao
your children and wives, and the new arrival who dwells with you in the camp, aside from those who cut wood, and those who bring water,
12 hidiranao amin’ ny faneken’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao sy ny fianianana, izay ataon’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao aminao anio,
so that you may cross into the covenant of the Lord your God, and into the oath which the Lord your God strikes with you today.
13 hanandratany anao ho fireneny, ary mba ho Andriamanitrao Izy, araka izay nolazainy taminao sy araka izay nianianany tamin’ ny razanao, dia Abrahama sy Isaka ary Jakoba.
So shall he raise you up as a people to himself, and so shall he be your God, just as he has spoken to you, and just as he swore to your fathers: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
14 Ary tsy aminareo ihany no anaovako izao fanekena sy fianianana izao,
And I am not forming this covenant and confirm these oaths with you alone,
15 fa amin’ izay eto amintsika anio eto anatrehan’ i Jehovah Andriamanitsika sy amin’ izay tsy eto amintsika anio koa;
but with all those who are present as well as those who are absent.
16 fa fantatrareo izay nitoerantsika tany amin’ ny tany Egypta sy izay nandehanantsika namaky ny tanin’ ny jentilisa;
For you know how we lived in the land of Egypt, and how we passed through the midst of nations. And when passing through them,
17 ary efa hitanareo ny fahavetavetany sy ny sampiny hazo sy vato sy volafotsy ary volamena, izay teo aminy;
you saw their abominations and filth, that is, their idols of wood and of stone, of silver and of gold, which they worshipped,
18 fandrao hisy lehilahy, na vehivavy, na mpianakavy, na firenena eto aminareo, izay manana fo mivily anio, ka miala amin’ i Jehovah Andriamanitsika, handehanany hanompo ny andriamanitr’ ireny firenena ireny; fandrao hisy faka eo aminareo izay miteraka zava-mangidy sady mahafaty;
so that there would not be among you man or woman, family or tribe, whose heart has been turned away this day from the Lord our God, so as to go and serve the gods of those nations. For then there would be among you a root springing forth gall and bitterness.
19 ary raha ren’ izany olona izany ny tenin’ ity fanozonana ity, dia hiarahaba tena ao am-pony izy ka hanao hoe: Hanam-piadanana aho, fa hanaraka ny ditry ny foko, handringanana ny leony mbamin’ ny mangetaheta.
And if he were to hear the words of this oath, he would bless himself in his own heart saying: ‘There will be peace for me, and I will walk in the depravity of my heart.’ And so, the one who is inebriated would consume the one who is thirsty.
20 Ary Jehovah dia tsy hety hamela ny helony, fa hanetroka amin’ izany lehilahy izany ny fahatezeran’ i Jehovah sy ny fahasaro-piarony, ary hitoetra aminy ny fanozonana rehetra izay voasoratra amin’ ity boky ity, ka hovonoin’ i Jehovah tsy ho eo ambanin’ ny lanitra ny anarany.
But the Lord would not ignore him. Instead, at that time, his fury and zealousness would be very greatly enflamed against that man, and all the curses which have been written in this volume would settle upon him. And the Lord would abolish his name from under heaven,
21 Dia hosarahin’ i Jehovah amin’ ny firenen’ Isiraely rehetra ho amin’ ny loza izy, araka ny fanozonana rehetra amin’ ny fanekena izay voasoratra amin’ ity bokin’ ny lalàna ity.
and consume him unto perdition out of all the tribes of Israel, according to the curses which are contained in the book of this law and in the covenant.
22 Ary hiteny ny taranaka any aoriana, dia ny zanakareo izay hitsangana handimby anareo, sy ny vahiny avy amin’ ny tany lavitra, raha mahita ny kapoka natao tamin’ ity tany ity sy ny faharariana izay nampaharanan’ i Jehovah azy
And the subsequent generation would speak out, along with the sons who will be born afterward. And the sojourners, who will arrive from far away, will see the plagues of that land and the infirmities with which the Lord will have afflicted it,
23 fa ho solifara sy sira ary fahamaizana ny tany rehetra eo: tsy hofafazana izy, na hanirian-javatra, sady tsy hisy ahitra akory hitrebona ao, tahaka ny nandravana an’ i Sodoma sy Gomora sy Adma ary Zeboïma, izay noravan’ i Jehovah tamin’ ny fahavinirany sy ny fahatezerany
having burned it with sulphur and molten salt, so that it can no longer be sown. And certainly no greenery would spring up, as in the example of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the Lord overturned with his wrath and fury.
24 dia hiteny ny firenena rehetra hoe: Nahoana Jehovah no dia nanao toy izany tamin’ ity tany ity? Inona no hevitry ny firehetan’ izao fahatezerana lehibe izao?
And so, all the nations would say: ‘Why has the Lord acted this way toward this land? What is this immense wrath of his fury?’
25 Dia hiteny ny vahoaka ka hanao hoe: Satria izy nahafoy ny faneken’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny razany, izay nataony taminy fony Izy nitondra azy nivoaka avy tany amin’ ny tany Egypta.
And they will respond: ‘Because they abandoned the covenant of the Lord, which he formed with their fathers, when he led them away from the land of Egypt.
26 Fa nandeha izy ka nanompo andriamani-kafa sady niankohoka teo anatrehany, dia andriamanitra izay tsy fantany sady tsy nomena azy;
And they have served foreign gods, and adored them, though they did not know them, and though they had not been allotted to them.
27 dia nirehitra tamin’ ity tany ity ny fahatezeran’ i Jehovah, ka nataony tonga taminy avokoa ny fanozonana rehetra izay voasoratra eto amin’ ity boky ity;
For this reason, the fury of the Lord was enraged against this land, so as to lead over it all the curses which have been written in this volume.
28 ary fahavinirana sy fahatezerana ary fahatezerana mirehitra no nandroahan’ i Jehovah azy tsy ho eo amin’ ny taniny sy nampandehanany azy ho any amin’ ny tany hafa, tahaka ny amin’ izao anio izao.
And he has cast them out of their own land, with anger and fury, and with a very great indignation, and he has thrown them into a strange land, just as has been proven this day.’
29 An’ i Jehovah Andriamanitsika ny zava-miafina; fa antsika sy ny zanatsika mandrakizay kosa ny zavatra ambara, hankatoavantsika ny teny rehetra amin’ ity lalàna ity.
These hidden things of the Lord our God have been revealed to us and to our sons in perpetuity, so that we may accomplish all the words of this law.”
