1 Raha mihaino tsara ny feon’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ianao ka mitandrina hanaraka ny didiny rehetra, izay andidiako anao anio, dia hasandratr’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ho ambonin’ ny firenena rehetra amin’ ny tany ianao;
“And it has been, if you listen diligently to the voice of your God YHWH, to observe to do all His commands which I am commanding you today, that your God YHWH has made you highest above all the nations of the earth,
2 ary ho tonga aminao sy ho azonao izao fitahiana rehetra izao, raha mihaino ny feon’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ianao
and all these blessings have come on you and overtaken you, because you listen to the voice of your God YHWH:
3 Hotahina ianao ao an-tanàna, ary hotahina ianao any an-tsaha.
Blessed [are] you in the city, and blessed [are] you in the field.
4 Hotahina ny ateraky ny kibonao sy ny vokatry ny taninao ary ny ateraky ny biby fiompinao, dia ny ateraky ny ombinao sy ny ateraky ny ondry aman’ osinao.
Blessed [is] the fruit of your womb, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your livestock, the increase of your oxen, and the wealth of your flock.
5 Hotahina ny haronao sy ny vilia fanaova-mofonao.
Blessed [is] your basket and your kneading-trough.
6 Hotahina ianao, raha miditra; ary hotahina ianao, raha mivoaka.
Blessed [are] you in your coming in, and blessed [are] you in your going out.
7 Hatolotr’ i Jehovah ho resy eo anoloanao ny fahavalonao, izay mitsangana hiady aminao, ka lalana iray no hivoahany hanatona anao, fa lalana fito kosa no handosirany hiala eo anoloanao.
YHWH makes your enemies, who are rising up against you, to be struck before your face; in one way they come out to you, and in seven ways they flee before you.
8 Handidy ny fitahiany ho aminao Jehovah amin’ ny fitoeram-barinao sy izay rehetra ataon’ ny tananao, ka hitahy anao Izy any amin’ ny tany izay omen’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao anao.
YHWH commands the blessing with you in your storehouses, and in every putting forth of your hand, and has blessed you in the land which your God YHWH is giving to you.
9 Hanandratra anao ho firenena masìna ho Azy Jehovah, araka izay nianianany taminao, raha mitandrina ny didin’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ianao ka mandeha amin’ ny lalany.
YHWH establishes you to Himself for a holy people, as He has sworn to you, when you keep the commands of your God YHWH and have walked in His ways;
10 Dia ho hitan’ ny firenena rehetra ambonin’ ny tany fa ny anaran’ i Jehovah no antsoina aminao, dia hatahotra anao izy.
and all the peoples of the land have seen that the Name of YHWH is called by you, and they have been afraid of you.
11 Ary hataon’ i Jehovah manana amby ampy izay hahasoa anao, dia ny ateraky ny kibonao sy ny ateraky ny biby fiompinao ary ny vokatry ny taninao, any amin’ ny tany izay nianianan’ i Jehovah tamin’ ny razanao homena anao.
And YHWH has made you abundant in good, in the fruit of the womb, and in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground, on the ground which YHWH has sworn to your fathers to give to you.
12 Hovohan’ i Jehovah ho anao ny lanitra, tranony fitehirizan-tsoa, handatsahany ranonorana amin’ ny taninao amin’ ny fotoany sy hitahiany ny asan’ ny tananao rehetra. Ary hampisambotra ny firenena maro ianao, fa ianao kosa tsy hisambotra.
YHWH opens his good treasure to you—the heavens—to give the rain of your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand, and you have lent to many nations, and you do not borrow.
13 Dia hataon’ i Jehovah ho lohany ianao, fa tsy ho rambony; ary ho ambony tokoa ianao, fa tsy ho ambany, raha mihaino ny didin’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao, izay andidiako anao anio, ka mitandrina sy manaraka azy.
And YHWH has set you for head and not for tail; and you have been only above, and are not beneath, for you listen to the commands of your God YHWH, which I am commanding you today, to keep and to do,
14 Ary aza miala amin’ ny teny rehetra izay andidiako anao anio, na ho amin’ ny ankavanana, na ho amin’ ny ankavia, hanaraka andriamani-kafa ka hanompo azy.
and you do not turn aside from all the words which I am commanding you today [to] the right or left, to go after other gods, to serve them.
15 Fa raha tsy mihaino ny feon’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao kosa ianao ka tsy mitandrina hanaraka ny didiny rehetra sy ny lalàny, izay andidiako anao anio, dia ho tonga aminao sy hahatratra anao izao fanozonana rehetra izao:
And it has been, if you do not listen to the voice of your God YHWH, to observe to do all His commands and His statutes which I am commanding you today, that all these revilings have come on you and overtaken you:
16 Hozonina ianao ao an-tanàna, ary hozonina ianao any an-tsaha.
Cursed [are] you in the city, and cursed [are] you in the field.
17 Hozonina ny haronao sy ny vilia fanaova-mofonao.
Cursed [is] your basket and your kneading-trough.
18 Hozonina ny ateraky ny kibonao sy ny vokatry ny taninao ary ny ateraky ny ombinao sy ny ateraky ny ondry aman’ osinao.
Cursed [is] the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your land, the increase of your oxen, and the wealth of your flock.
19 Hozonina ianao, raha miditra; ary hozonina ianao, raha mivoaka.
Cursed [are] you in your coming in, and cursed [are] you in your going out.
20 Hampandehanin’ i Jehovah aminao ny ozona, dia horohoro sy fampitahorana amin’ izay rehetra ataon’ ny tananao, mandra-paharinganao sy mandra-pahalaninao faingana noho ny faharatsian’ ny nataonao tamin’ ny nahafoizanao Ahy.
YHWH sends the curse, the trouble, and the rebuke on you, in every putting forth of your hand which you do, until you are destroyed, and until you perish quickly, because of the evil of your doings [by] which you have forsaken Me.
21 Hampiraiketin’ i Jehovah aminao ny areti-mandringana, mandra-pandaniny anao tsy ho eo amin’ ny tany izay efa hidiranao holovana.
YHWH causes the pestilence to cleave to you until He consumes you from off the ground to where you are going in to possess it.
22 Ary areti-mahasahozanina sy tazo mahamay sy fahamaizana sy hafanana mangotraka sy andro mihantona sy vary main’ ny rivotra na maty fotsy no hamelezan’ i Jehovah anao; dia hanenjika anao ireny mandra-pahalany ritranao.
YHWH strikes you with consumption, and with fever, and with inflammation, and with extreme burning, and with sword, and with blasting, and with mildew, and they have pursued you until you perish
23 Ary ho varahina ny lanitra eo ambonin’ ny lohanao, ary ho vy ny tany eo ambaninao.
And your heavens which [are] over your head have been bronze, and the earth which [is] under you iron;
24 Hataon’ i Jehovah vovoka sy jofo ny ranonorana amin’ ny taninao; avy any an-danitra no hidinan’ izany aminao mandra-paharinganao.
YHWH gives dust and ashes [for] the rain of your land; it comes down on you from the heavens until you are destroyed.
25 Hatolotr’ i Jehovah ho resy eo anoloan’ ny fahavalonao ianao, ka lalana iray no hivoahanao hiady aminy, fa lalana fito kosa no handosiranao hiala eo anoloany; dia ho mpanjenjena any amin’ ny fanjakana rehetra ambonin’ ny tany ianao.
YHWH makes you struck before your enemies; in one way you go out to them, and in seven ways you flee before them, and you have been for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth;
26 Ary ny fatinao hohanin’ ny voro-manidina rehetra sy ny bibi-dia, ka tsy hisy hanaitaitra azy.
and your carcass has been for food for every bird of the heavens and for the beast of the earth, and there is none causing [them] to tremble.
27 Hamelin’ i Jehovah anao ny vain’ i Egypta sy ny tomboka sy ny hatina ary ny hazaka (izay tsy azom-panafody);
YHWH strikes you with the ulcer of Egypt, and with lumps, and with scurvy, and with itch, of which you are not able to be healed.
28 ary hamelin’ i Jehovah anao koa ny fahadalana sy ny fahajambana ary ny fahaverezan-kevitra.
YHWH strikes you with madness, and with blindness, and with astonishment of heart;
29 Dia hitsapatsapa ianao na dia amin’ ny mitatao-vovonana aza tahaka ny fitsapatsapan’ ny jamba ao amin’ ny aizim-pito ka tsy ho tonga amin’ izay halehanao; dia hampahorin’ ny sasany sy hobaboiny mandrakariva ianao, fa tsy hisy hamonjy.
and you have been groping at noon, as the blind gropes in darkness; and you do not cause your ways to prosper; and you have been only oppressed and plundered [for] all the days, and there is no savior.
30 Hifofo vady ianao, fa olon-kafa no handry aminy; hanao trano ianao, fa tsy hitoetra ao; hanao tanim-boaloboka ianao, fa tsy hihinana ny vokatra.
You betroth a woman, and another man lies with her; you build a house, and do not dwell in it; you plant a vineyard, and do not make it common;
31 Ny ombinao hovonoina eo imasonao, fa tsy hihinana ny henany ianao. Ny borikinao halaina an-keriny eo anatrehanao ka tsy haverina aminao. Ny ondry aman’ osinao homena ho an’ ny fahavalonao, nefa tsy hanan-kamonjy ianao.
your ox [is] slaughtered before your eyes, and you do not eat of it; your donkey [is] violently taken away from before you, and it is not given back to you; your sheep [are] given to your enemies, and there is no savior for you.
32 Ny zanakao-lahy sy ny zanakao-vavy homena ho an’ ny firenena hafa, ary hijery ny masonao ka ho pahina manontolo andro noho ny alahelonao azy, nefa tsy hahefa na inona na inona ny tananao.
Your sons and your daughters [are] given to another people, and your eyes are looking and consumed for them all the day, but your hand is not to God!
33 Ny vokatry ny taninao sy izay rehetra efa nisasaranao dia hohanin’ ny firenena izay tsy fantatrao; any hanaovan’ ny sasany an-keriny sy hotorotoroiny mandrakariva ianao.
A people whom you have not known eat the fruit of your ground and all your labor; and you have been only oppressed and bruised [for] all the days;
34 Dia ho very saina ianao noho ny zavatra izay ho hitan’ ny masonao.
and you have been mad because of the sight of your eyes which you see.
35 Hamelin’ i Jehovah anao ny vay ratsy, izay tsy azom-panafody, dia amin’ ny lohalikao sy ny tongotrao, hatramin’ ny faladianao ka hatramin’ ny tampon-dohanao.
YHWH strikes you with a severe ulcer on the knees and on the legs (of which you are not able to be healed), from the sole of your foot even to your crown.
36 Ho entin’ i Jehovah ho any amin’ ny firenena izay tsy fantatrao na ny razanao ianao sy ny mpanjakanao, izay hatsanganao hanjaka aminao; any any no hanompoanao andriamani-kafa, dia vato aman-kazo.
YHWH causes you and your king whom you raise up over you to go to a nation which you have not known, you and your fathers, and you have served other gods there—wood and stone;
37 Dia ho figagana sy ohabolana ary ho ambentinteny ianao any amin’ ny firenena rehetra izay hitondran’ i Jehovah anao.
and you have been for an astonishment, for an allegory, and for a byword among all the peoples to where YHWH leads you.
38 Voan-javatra betsaka no ho entinao hambolena any an-tsaha, fa kely kosa no hangoninao, satria ho lanin’ ny valala ireny.
You take much seed out into the field, and you gather little in, for the locust consumes it;
39 Hanao tanim-boaloboka ianao ka hiasa azy, nefa tsy hisotro divay na hioty voaloboka ianao, satria ho lanin’ ny fositra ireny.
you plant vineyards and have labored, but you do not drink wine, nor gather [grapes], for the worm consumes it;
40 Hanana hazo oliva amin’ ny taninao rehetra ianao, nefa tsy hihosotra diloilo; fa hihintsana ny olivanao.
olives are yours in all your border, but you do not pour out oil, for your olive falls off.
41 Hiteraka zazalahy sy zazavavy ianao, nefa tsy ho anao ireny, fa ho lasan-ko babo.
You beget sons and daughters, but they are not with you, for they go into captivity;
42 Ny hazonao sy ny vokatry ny taninao rehetra dia ho lanin’ ny valala.
the locust possesses all your trees and the fruit of your ground;
43 Ny vahiny eo aminao hisandratra ho ambony dia ambony noho ianao, fa ianao kosa hietry ho ambany dia ambany.
the sojourner who [is] in your midst goes up very high above you, and you go down very low;
44 Izy hampisambotra anao, fa ianao kosa tsy hampisambotra azy; izy ho lohany, fa ianao ho rambony.
he lends [to] you, and you do not lend [to] him; he is for head and you are for tail.
45 Dia ho tonga aminao ireo ozona rehetra ireo ka hanenjika anao sy hahatratra anao mandra-paharinganao, satria tsy nihaino ny feon’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ianao hitandremanao ny didiny sy ny lalàny, izay nandidiany anao.
And all these curses have come on you, and pursued you, and overtaken you, until you are destroyed, because you have not listened to the voice of your God YHWH, to keep His commands and His statutes which he has commanded you;
46 Ary ho famantarana sy fahagagana aminao sy ny taranakao mandrakizay izany,
and they have been on you for a sign and for a wonder, also on your seed—for all time.
47 satria tsy nanompo an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao tamin’ ny fahafaliana sy ny faharavoam-po ianao noho ny habetsahan’ ny zavatra rehetra.
Because that you have not served your God YHWH with joy and with gladness of heart, because of the abundance of all things—
48 Any amin’ ny fahanoanana sy ny hetaheta sy ny fitanjahana any ny tsi-fananana na inona na inona no hanompoanao ny fahavalonao izay hampandehanin’ i Jehovah hiady aminao; dia hanisy zioga vy amin’ ny vozonao ireny mandra-pandringany anao.
you have served your enemies, whom YHWH sends against you, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in lack of all things; and He has put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you.
49 Ho entin’ i Jehovah hiady aminao izay firenena avy lavitra, dia ny avy amin’ ny faran’ ny tany-tahaka ny fanidin’ ny voromahery no fihaviny, sady firenena izay tsy ho fantatrao ny fiteniny,
YHWH lifts up a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth—it flies as the eagle—a nation whose tongue you have not heard,
50 firenena masiaka endrika, izay tsy hanaja ny antitra, na hiantra ny tanora
a nation of fierce countenance, which does not accept the face of the aged and does not favor the young;
51 dia hohaniny ny ateraky ny ombinao sy ny vokatry ny taninao mandra-paharinganao; ka tsy hisy havelany ho anao, na vary, na ranom-boaloboka, na diloilo, na ny ateraky ny ombinao, na ny ateraky ny ondry aman’ osinao, mandra-pandringany anao.
and it has eaten the fruit of your livestock and the fruit of your ground, until you are destroyed; which does not leave to you grain, new wine, and oil, the increase of your oxen, and the wealth of your flock, until it has destroyed you.
52 Dia hataony fahirano any amin’ ny tanànanao rehetra ianao mandra-pandravany ny mandanao avo sy mafy, izay itokianao, eran’ ny taninao rehetra; eny, hataony fahirano ianao any amin’ ny tanànanao rehetra eran’ ny taninao rehetra, izay omen’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao anao.
And it has laid siege to you in all your gates until your walls come down—the high and the fortified ones in which you are trusting, in all your land; indeed, it has laid siege to you in all your gates, in all your land which your God YHWH has given to you.
53 Ary eo amin’ ny fahirano sy ny fanerena, izay haneren’ ny fahavalonao anao, dia ny ateraky ny kibonao no hohaninao, dia ny nofon’ ny zanakao-lahy sy ny zanakao-vavy, izay omen’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao anao.
And you have eaten the fruit of your body, [the] flesh of your sons and your daughters (whom your God YHWH has given to you), in the siege and in the constriction with which your enemies constrict you.
54 Ny lehilahy malemilemy sy mihantahanta indrindra eo aminao dia ho ratsy fijery ny rahalahiny sy ny vadiny andefimandry ary ny zanany sisa,
The man who is tender in you, and who [is] very delicate—his eye is evil against his brother, and against the wife of his bosom, and against the remnant of his sons whom he leaves,
55 ka tsy hisy amin’ ireo hanomezany ny nofon’ ny zanany izay haniny fandrao tsy hisy intsony ho azy amin’ ny fahirano sy ny fanerena, izay haneren’ ny fahavalonao anao any amin’ ny tanànanao rehetra.
against giving to one of them of the flesh of his sons whom he eats, because he has nothing left for himself in the siege and in the constriction with which your enemy constricts you in all your gates.
56 Ny vehivavy malemilemy sy mihantahanta eo aminao, izay tsy mbola nanandrana nandia tany noho ny fihantahantany sy ny fahalemilemeny, dia ho ratsy fiteny ny vadiny andefimandry sy ny zananilahy ary ny zananivavy
The tender woman in you, and the delicate, who has not tried the sole of her foot to place on the ground because of delicateness and because of tenderness—her eye is evil against the husband of her bosom, and against her son, and against her daughter,
57 noho ny ahitra izay mivoaka avy aminy sy ny zanany vao teraka; fa hihinana izany mangingina izy noho ny tsi-fisian-javatra amin’ ny fahirano sy ny fanerena, izay haneren’ ny fahavalonao anao any amin’ ny tanànanao.
and against her seed which comes out from between her feet, even against her sons whom she bears, for she eats them in secret, in the lacking of everything, in the siege and in the constriction with which your enemy constricts you within your gates.
58 Raha tsy tandremanao ny hanaraka ny teny rehetra amin’ ity lalàna ity, izay voasoratra eto amin’ ity boky ity, hatahoranao izao anarana efa nankalazaina sady mahatahotra izao hoe: JEHOVAH ANDRIAMANITRAO,
If you do not observe to do all the words of this law which are written in this scroll, to fear this honored and fearful Name—your God YHWH—
59 dia hataon’ i Jehovah mahagaga ny kapoka hataony aminao sy ny zanakao, dia kapoka mafy sady maharitra ela ary faharariana mafy sady maharitra ela.
then YHWH has made your strokes extraordinary, and the strokes [against] your seed [are] great strokes that are persisting and severe sicknesses that are persisting.
60 Dia haveriny aminao indray ny aretin’ i Egypta rehetra, izay natahoranao ka hiraikitra aminao ireny.
And He has brought back all the diseases of Egypt on you, from the presence of which you have been afraid, and they have cleaved to you.
61 Ary ny faharariana rehetra sy ny kapoka rehetra koa, izay tsy voasoratra amin’ ny bokin’ ity lalàna ity aza, dia ho entin’ i Jehovah mamely anao mandra-paharinganao.
Also every sickness and every stroke which is not written in the scroll of this law—YHWH causes them to go up on you until you are destroyed,
62 Ary olona vitsy no ho sisa aminareo hisolo izao fahamaroanareo toy ny kintana eny amin’ ny lanitra izao, satria tsy nihaino ny feon’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ianao.
and you have been left with few men, whereas that you would have been as stars of the heavens for multitude, for you have not listened to the voice of your God YHWH.
63 Ary araka izay nifalian’ i Jehovah taminareo hahasoa sy hahamaro anareo, dia araka izany kosa no hifalian’ i Jehovah handringana sy handrava anareo; dia hofongorana ianareo tsy ho eo amin’ ny tany, izay efa hidiranao holovana.
And it has been, as YHWH has rejoiced over you to do you good and to multiply you, so YHWH rejoices over you to destroy you and to lay you waste; and you have been pulled away from off the ground to where you are going in to possess it;
64 Dia haelin’ i Jehovah any amin’ ny firerena rehetra hatramin’ ny faran’ ny tany ianao; ary any no hanompoanao andriamani-kafa vato aman-kazo, izay tsy fantatrao na ny razanao.
and YHWH has scattered you among all the peoples, from the end of the earth even to the [other] end of the earth; and you have served other gods there which you have not known, you and your fathers—wood and stone.
65 Ary any amin’ ireo firenena ireo dia tsy hisy hiainanao, na hitsaharan’ ny faladianao; fa any no hanomezan’ i Jehovah anao fo miemponempona sy maso pahina ary fahakiviam-panahy.
And you do not rest among those nations, indeed, there is no resting place for the sole of your foot, and YHWH has given to you a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and grief of soul there;
66 Ar ny ainao hihevingevina eo anatrehanao; dia hatahotra andro aman’ alina ianao ka tsy hanampo izay ho velona.
and your life has been hanging in suspense before you, and you have been afraid by night and by day, and you do not have assurance in your life;
67 Nony maraina ny andro dia hanao hoe ianao: Malakia hariva! ary nony hariva ny andro, dia hanao hoe ianao: Malakia maraina! noho ny tahotry ny fonao izay hatahoranao, sy noho ny zavatra izay ho hitan’ ny masonao.
in the morning you say, O that it were evening! And in the evening you say, O that it were morning! (From the fear of your heart, with which you are afraid, and from the sight of your eyes which you see.)
68 Ary ianao ho entin’ i Jehovah an-tsambo hiverina any Egypta amin’ izay lalana efa nolazaiko taminao hoe: Tsy hahita izany intsony ianao; dia hivaro-tena ho andevolahy sy ho andevovavy any amin’ ny fahavalonareo ianareo, nefa tsy hisy mpividy.
And YHWH has brought you back to Egypt in ships, by the way of which I said to you, You do not add to see it anymore; and you have sold yourselves to your enemies there, for menservants and for maidservants, and there is no buyer.”
