1 Fa tamin’ ny taona voalohany nanjakan’ i Dariosa Mediana dia nitsangana hampahery sy hanatanjaka azy aho.

Also I, in ye first yere of Darius of ye Medes, euen I stood to incourage and to strengthen him.

2 Ary ankehitriny izay tenany tokoa dia haharihariko aminao. Indro, mbola hisy mpanjaka telo koa hitsangana any Persia; ary ny fahefatra hanan-karena be mihoatra noho izy rehetra; koa rehefa mahery izy noho ny hareny, dia hotairiny avokoa ny olona rehetra hamely ny fanjakan’ i Grisia.

And now wil I shew thee ye trueth, Behold, there shall stand vp yet three Kings in Persia, and the fourth shall be farre richer then they all: and by his strength, and by his riches he shall stirre vp all against the realme of Grecia.

3 Ary hisy mpanjaka mahery hitsangana, izay hanapaka amin’ ny fanapahana lehibe sady hanao araka izay sitrapony.

But a mightie King shall stand vp, that shall rule with great dominion, and doe according to his pleasure.

4 Ary rehefa mitsangana izy, dia horavana ny fanjakany ka hozaraina ho amin’ ny rivotra efatry ny lanitra; fa tsy ho an’ ny taranany, na araka ny fanapahany izay nanapahany, fa hongotana ny fanjakany ka ho an’ ny hafa, fa tsy ho an’ ireo.

And when he shall stand vp, his kingdome shall be broken, and shall be deuided towarde the foure windes of heauen: and not to his posteritie, nor according to his dominion, which he ruled: for his kingdome shall be pluckt vp, euen to be for others besides those.

5 Ary hahery ny mpanjakan’ ny atsimo; nefa ny anankiray amin’ ny andriandahiny dia hahery noho izy aza ka hanapaka; ary ho fanapahana lehibe ny fanapahany.

And ye King of ye South shalbe mightie, and one of his princes, and shall preuaile against him, and beare rule: his dominio shalbe a great dominion.

6 Ary rehefa afaka taona vitsivitsy, dia hikambana izy roa lahy ireo; ary ho avy ny zanakavavin’ ny mpanjakan’ ny atsimo hankany amin’ ny mpanjakan’ ny avaratra hahatsara ny fihavanana; nefa tsy hahatana ny herin-tsandry izy, ary tsy hahajanona ilay mpanjaka na ny sandriny, fa hatolotra razazavavy sy ireo nitondra azy sy rainy niteraka azy mbamin’ izay nampahery azy tamin’ izany andro izany.

And in the ende of yeeres they shalbe ioyned together: for the Kings daughter of ye South shall come to the King of the North to make an agreement, but she shall not reteine the power of the arme, neither shall he continue, nor his arme: but she shall be deliuered to death, and they that brought her, and he that begate her, and he that comforted her in these times.

7 Fa hisy solofony anankiray avy amin’ ny fakany hitsangana handimby azy, ka hihavian’ izay ny miaramila, ary hidirany ny fiarovana mafin’ ny mpanjakan’ ny avaratra, ka hasiany ireo, dia hahery izy.

But out of the bud of her rootes shall one stand vp in his stead, which shall come with an armie, and shall enter into the fortresse of the King of the North, and doe with them as he list, and shall preuaile,

8 Ary ny andriamaniny koa mbamin’ ny sarin-javatra an-idina sy ny fanaka tsara ananany, na ny volafotsy na ny volamena, dia hobaboiny avokoa; ary hijanona elaela tsy hamely ny mpanjakan’ ny avaratra izy.

And shall also carie captiues into Egypt their gods with their molten images, and with their precious vessels of siluer and of golde, and he shall continue more yeeres then the King of the North.

9 Ary ho tonga amin’ ny fanjakan’ ny mpanjakan’ ny atsimo izy, nefa hody any amin’ ny taniny ihany.

So the King of ye South shall come into his kingdome, and shall returne into his owne land.

10 Fa hanomana tafika ny zanany ka hanangona miaramila maro be; dia ho avy tokoa ireo ka hanerana toy ny safotra, rehefa afaka izany, dia hiverina izy, ary hanihiny ihany na dia ny fiarovana mafiny aza.

Wherefore his sonnes shall be stirred vp, and shall assemble a mightie great armie: and one shall come, and ouerflowe, and passe through: then shall he returne, and be stirred vp at his fortresse.

11 Ary dia hisafoaka ny mpanjakan’ ny atsimo, ka hivoaka hiady aminy izy, dia amin’ ny mpanjakan’ ny avaratra, ary izy hanangona maro be; ary ny maro be dia hatolotra ho eo an-tànany.

And the King of the South shall be angrie, and shall come foorth, and fight with him, euen with the King of the North: for he shall set foorth a great multitude, and the multitude shall be giuen into his hand.

12 Ary raha miainga ireo maro be ireo, dia hiavonavona ny fony; ary haharipaka alinalina izy, nefa tsy hahery.

Then the multitude shall be proude, and their heart shall be lifted vp: for hee shall cast downe thousands: but he shall not still preuaile.

13 Fa hiverina ny mpanjakan’ ny avaratra ka hanangona olona maro be mihoatra noho ny teo; ary rehefa afaka ny fe-taona, dia ho avy tokoa izy ka hitondra miaramila maro sy fitaovana betsaka.

For the King of the North shall returne, and shall set foorth a greater multitude then afore, and shall come foorth (after certeine yeeres) with a mightie armie, and great riches.

14 Ary amin’ izany andro izany dia maro no hitsangana hamely ny mpanjakan’ ny atsimo; ary ireo loza indrindra amin’ ny firenenao dia hanandra-tena hahatò ny fahitana, nefa ho lavo izy.

And at the same time there shall many stand vp against the King of the South: also the rebellious children of thy people shall exalt them selues to establish the vision, but they shall fall.

15 Ka dia ho avy ny mpanjakan’ ny avaratra hanandratra tovon-tany hanafaka ny tanàna mimanda; ary na ny sandrin’ ny atsimo na ny olom-pidiny dia tsy hahomby, ary tsy hisy hery hahombiazany.

So the King of the North shall come, and cast vp a mount, and take the strong citie: and the armes of the South shall not resist, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand.

16 Fa izay avy hamely azy dia hanao araka Izay sitrapony, ka tsy hisy hahajanona eo anatrehany; ary izy hijanona ao amin’ ny tany mahafinaritra, ary hisy fandringanana eny an-tànany.

But he that shall come, shall doe vnto him as he list, and none shall stand against him: and he shall stand in the pleasant land, which by his hand shalbe consumed.

17 Dia hivonona tsara handeha amin’ ny herin’ ny fanjakany rehetra izy ka hanao izay hahatsara ny fihavanana; ary homeny ny zanakavavin’ ny vehivavy izy ka hahatonga loza aminy; ary tsy hahalavorary razazavavy, na hahasoa azy akory.

Againe he shall set his face to enter with the power of his whole kingdome, and his confederates with him: thus shall he doe, and he shall giue him the daughter of women, to destroy her: but she shall not stande on his side, neither bee for him.

18 Ary hitodika mankany amin’ ny nosy izy ka hahalasa be; ary hisy mpanapaka hampitsahatra ny latsa ataony, sady hatsingeriny aminy ny latsa ataony.

After this shall he turne his face vnto the yles, and shall take many, but a prince shall cause his shame to light vpon him, beside that he shall cause his owne shame to turne vpon himselfe.

19 Dia hitodika hankany, amin’ ny fiarovana mafy any amin’ ny taniny izy; kanjo ho tafintohina sy ho lavo izy ka tsy ho hita.

For he shall turne his face toward the fortes of his owne land: but he shall be ouerthrowen and fall, and be no more founde.

20 Ary hitsangana handimby azy indray ny anankiray izay hampandeha mpampiasa ho any amin’ izay tsara indrindra amin’ ny fanjakany; fa rehefa afaka andro vitsy, dia ho faty io, nefa tsy amin’ ny fahatezerana, na amin’ ny ady.

Then shall stand vp in his place in the glorie of the kingdome, one that shall raise taxes: but after fewe dayes he shall be destroyed, neither in wrath, nor in battell.

21 Ary hisy olona famingavinga hitsangana handimby io indray, izay tsy homena ny voninahitry ny fanjakana; fa hiditra tsy ampoizina izy ka hahazo ny fanjakana amin’ ny fahafetsena,

And in his place shall stand vp a vile person, to whom they shall not giue the honour of the kingdome: but he shall come in peaceably, and obteine the kingdome by flatteries.

22 ary ireo miaramila toy ny safotra no hindaosina hiala eo anatrehany sady ho resiny mbamin’ ny andriana vita fanekena aminy koa.

And the armes shall be ouerthrowen with a flood before him, and shall be broken: and also the prince of the couenant.

23 Eny, rehefa mifanaiky aminy io, dia hanao fitaka; fa hiakatra izy ka hahery, na dia vitsy aza ny olona entiny.

And after the league made with him, he shall worke deceitfully: for he shall come vp, and ouercome with a small people.

24 Hiditra tsy ampoizina amin’ ny fari-tany mahavokatra indrindra izy ka hanao izay tsy nataon’ ny rainy na ny razany; hahahany eny amin’ ireny ny sambotra sy ny babo ary ny harena; ary hamoron-tsaina izy ka hamely ny fiarovana mandra-pahalanin’ ny fotoana.

He shall enter into the quiet and plentifull prouince, and he shall doe that which his fathers haue not done, nor his fathers fathers: he shall deuide among them the pray and the spoyle, and the substance, yea, and he shall forecast his deuises against the strong holdes, euen for a time.

25 Ary hanaitra ny heriny sy ny fony izy hamely ny mpanjakan’ ny atsimo amin’ ny miaramila maro; ary ny mpanjakan’ ny atsimo kosa hanafika mitondra miaramila maro sady mahery indrindra; nefa tsy hahajanona izy, satria hisy hamoron-tsaina hamely azy.

Also he shall stirre vp his power and his courage against the King of the South with a great armie, and the King of the South shall be stirred vp to battell with a very great and mightie armie: but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast and practise against him.

26 Eny, izay homana ny hanina avy aminy ihany no hahalavo azy, ary ny miaramilany hanerana toy ny safotra, sady maro ny faty hiampatrampatra.

Yea, they that feede of the portion of his meate, shall destroy him: and his armie shall ouerflowe: and many shall fall, and be slaine.

27 Ary ny fon’ ireo mpanjaka roa ireo dia samy ta-hanao ratsy, ary eo an-databatra iray no hiresahany lainga; nefa tsy hambinina izany; fa ny farany dia ho amin’ ny fotoana ihany.

And both these Kings hearts shall be to do mischiefe, and they shall talke of deceite at one table: but it shall not auaile: for yet the ende shall be at the time appointed.

28 Ary hiverina ho any amin’ ny taniny mitondra harena be izy; koa ny fony dia hanohitra ny fanekena masìna; ary hahefa sy hiverina ho any amin’ ny taniny izy

Then shall he returne into his land with great substance: for his heart shall be against the holy couenant: so shall he doe and returne to his owne land.

29 Amin’ ny fotoana dia ho lasa mianatsimo indray izy; nefa ny farany tsy ho toy ny voalohany;

At the time appointed he shall returne, and come toward the South: but the last shall not be as the first.

30 fa ny sambon’ i Kitima ho avy namely azy, ka dia ho kivy izy ka hiverina ary hisafoaka amin’ ny fanekena masìna ka hamely; eny, hiverina izy ka hisaina ny amin’ ireo efa mahafoy ny fanekena masìna.

For the shippes of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shalbe sorie and returne, and freat against the holy couenant: so shall he doe, he shall euen returne and haue intelligence with them that forsake the holy couenant.

31 Ary hisy miaramila hitsangana noho ny teniny ka handoto ny fitoerana masìna, dia ny fiarovana mafy, ary hampitsahatra ny fanatitra isan’ andro sady hampiditra ny fahavetavetana mahatonga fandravana.

And armes shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the Sanctuarie of strength, and shall take away the dayly sacrifice, and they shall set vp the abominable desolation.

32 Ary izay mivadika ny fanekena dia hambosiny amin’ ny fandroboana; fa ny dona izay mahalala an’ Andriamaniny kosa dia hifikitra amin’ izany ka hankatò azy.

And such as wickedly breake ye couenant, shall he cause to sinne by flatterie: but the people that do know their God, shall preuaile and prosper.

33 Ary izay hendry ao amin’ ny olona dia hampianatra ny maro; nefa ho lavon’ ny sabatra sy ny lelafo sy ny famaboana ary ny fandrobana elaela ihany izy.

And they that vnderstand among the people, shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by sword, and by flame, by captiuitie and by spoile many dayes.

34 Ary rehefa lavo izy, dia hahazo famonjena kely; ary maro no hikambana aminy amin’ ny fihatsaram-belatsihy.

Nowe when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a litle helpe: but many shall cleaue vnto them fainedly.

35 Ary hisy ho lavo koa ny manan-tsaina, mba hizahan-toetra sy hanadiovana ary hamotsiana azy ambara-pahatongan’ ny andro farany, fa mbola ho amin’ ny fotoana ihany izany.

And some of the of vnderstanding shall fall to trie them, and to purge, and to make them white, till the time be out: for there is a time appointed.

36 Ary ny mpanjaka hanao araka izay sitrapony; ary hisandratra sy hanandra-tena ho ambonin’ ny andriamanitra rehetra izy ka hiteny zavatra mahagaga ny amin’ Andriamanitry ny andriamanitra, ary hambinina ihany izy mandra-pahatanteraky ny fahatezerana; fa izay efa voatendry no tsy maintsy hatao.

And the King shall doe what him list: he shall exalt himselfe, and magnifie himselfe against all, that is God, and shall speake marueilous things against ye God of gods, and shall prosper, till ye wrath be accomplished: for ye determination is made.

37 Ary tsy hahoany akory ny andriamanitry ny razany, na ny fitiavan’ ny vehivavy; eny, tsy hahoany akory izay andriamanitra, fa hanandra-tena noho izy rehetra izy.

Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desires of women, nor care for any God: for he shall magnifie himselfe aboue all.

38 Fa ny andriamanitry ny fiarovana mafy no hankalazainy hisolo izany; ary volamena sy volafotsy sy vato soa ary zavatra mahafinaritra no ho entiny mankalaza ny andriamanitra izay tsy fantatry ny razany.

But in his place shall he honour the god Mauzzim, and the god whom his fathers knewe not, shall he honour with golde and with siluer, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.

39 Dia homban’ ny andriamani-kafa izy ka hamely ny batery mafy indrindra, ary izay manaiky azy dia homeny voninahitra be sady hataony mpanapaka ny maro, ary hozarainy ho azy ny tany ho valim-pitia.

Thus shall he do in the holdes of Mauzzim with a strange god whom he shall acknowledge: he shall increase his glory, and shall cause them to rule ouer many and shall deuide ye land for gaine.

40 Ary amin’ ny faran’ ny andro dia hanoto azy ny mpanjakan’ ny atsimo; ary ny mpanjakan’ ny avaratra koa ho avy hamely azy toy ny tafio-drivotra ka hitondra kalesy sy mpitaingin-tsoavaly ary sambo maro; ary hiditra amin’ ny tany izy ka hanerana toy ny safotra.

And at ye end of time shall the King of the South push at him, and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlewind with charets, and with horsemen, and with many ships, and he shall enter into ye countreis, and shall ouerflow and passe through.

41 Hiditra ao amin’ ny tany mahafinaritra koa izy, ary maro no ho ripaka; fa izao kosa no ho afa-mandositra ny tànany: Edoma sy Moaba ary ireo lohan’ ny taranak’ i Amona.

He shall enter also into the pleasant land, and many countreis shalbe ouerthrowen: but these shall escape out of his hand, euen Edom and Moab, and the chiefe of the children of Ammon.

42 Haninjitra ny tànany amin’ ny tany sasany koa izy; ary ny tany Egypta tsy ho afa-mandositra.

He shall stretch foorth his hands also vpon the countreis, and ye land of Egypt shall not escape.

43 Fa hahalasa ny rakitra volamena sy volafotsy ary ny zava-tsoan’ i Egypta rehetra izy; ary ny Libyana sy ny Etiopiana hanaraka azy.

But he shall haue power ouer the treasures of golde and of siluer, and ouer all the precious things of Egypt, and of the Lybians, and of the blacke Mores where he shall passe.

44 Fa hisy siosion-teny avy any atsinanana sy avy any avaratra haharaiki-tahotra azy, ka dia hivoaka amin’ ny fahatezerana be izy handrava sy handringana maro.

But the tidings out of the East and the North shall trouble him: therefore he shall goe foorth with great wrath to destroy and roote out many.

45 Ary haoriny eo anelanelan’ ny ranomasina sy ny tendrombohitra masìna mahafinaritra ny trano-lainy izay lapany; nefa ho tonga ao amin’ ny hiafarany ihany izy, ka tsy hisy hamonjy azy.

And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace betweene the seas in the glorious and holy mountaine, yet he shall come to his end, and none shall helpe him.
