Amosa 8
1 Izao no nasehon’ i Jehovah Tompo tamiko; Indro, nisy harona feno voankazo masaka fahavaratra.
Thus hath the Lord God shewed vnto me, and behold, a basket of summer fruite.
2 Ary hoy Izy: Inona no hitanao, ry Amosa? Dia hoy izaho: Harona feno voankazo masaka fahavaratra. Dia hoy Jehovah tamiko: Tonga amin’ ny Isiraely oloko ny farany; Tsy handefitra aminy intsony Aho.
And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I sayd, A basket of sommer fruite. Then sayd the Lord vnto me, The ende is come vpon my people of Israel, I wil passe by them no more.
3 Ho tonga naonaona ny hira ao an-dapa amin’ izany andro izany, hoy Jehovah Tompo; Ho be ny faty, Hatraiza hatraiza no hanariany azy. Mangìna re!
And the songs of the Temple shalbe howlings in that day, saith the Lord God: many dead bodies shalbe in euery place: they shall cast them forth with silence.
4 Mihanoa izao, ianareo izay mihanahana te-hitelina ny malahelo sy hahafongana ny mpandefitra amin’ ny tany
Heare this, O yee that swallowe vp the poore, that ye may make the needie of the lande to fayle,
5 Ka manao hoe: Rahoviana no ho tapitra ny voaloham-bolana, hivarotantsika vary, sy ny Sabata, hanokafantsika ny lava-bary, ka hanakelezana ny efaha sy hanalehibiazana ny sekely, ary hanaovana mizana mandainga
Saying, When will the newe moneth bee gone, that we may sell corne? and the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheate, and make the Ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifie the weights by deceit?
6 Mba hovidintsika volafotsy ny mahantra sy kiraro iray lomisy ny malahelo, ary hivarotantsika ny loha-kororoky ny vary?
That we may buy the poore for siluer, and the needie for shooes: yea, and sell the refuse of the wheate.
7 Jehovah nianiana tamin’ ny Reharehan’ i Jakoba ka nanao hoe: Tsy hisy hobadinoiko mandrakizay ny asany na dia iray akory aza!
The Lord hath sworne by the excellencie of Iaakob, Surely I will neuer forget any of their workes.
8 Tsy hihorohoro noho izany va ny tany, sy hitomany ny mponina rehetra ao aminy? Eny, ny tany rehetra hihatondraka tahaka an’ i Neily sy hihena indray toy ny Neilin’ i Egypta.
Shall not the lande tremble for this, and euery one mourne, that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise vp wholy as a flood, and it shall bee cast out, and drowned as by the flood of Egypt.
9 Ary amin izany andro izany, hoy Jehovah Tompo, dia halentiko mitataovovonana ny masoandro, ary hohamaiziniko antoandrobenanahary ny tany;
And in that day, saith the Lord God, I will euen cause the sunne to go downe at noone: and I will darken the earth in the cleare day.
10 Hampodiko ho fitomaniana ny andro firavoravoanareo, ary ho hira fahalahelovana ny hiranareo rehetra, hofeheziko lamba fisaonana ny valahana rehetra, sady hokakasako ny loha rehetra; Ary hataoko ho toy ny fisaonana zanakalahy tokana izany, Ka ny farany dia ho tahaka ny andro mangidy.
And I will turne your feastes into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation: and I will bring sackcloth vpon all loynes, and baldnes vpon euery head: and I will make it as the mourning of an onely sonne, and the ende thereof as a bitter day.
11 Indro, avy ny andro, hoy Jehovah Tompo, izay hanaterako mosary amin’ ny tany, tsy fanirian-kanina anefa, na hetahetan-drano, fa faniriana handre ny tenin’ i Jehovah;
Beholde, the dayes come, sayeth the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the lande, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the word of the Lord.
12 Ary hivembena hatrany amin’ ny ranomasina ka hatrany amin’ ny ranomasina ny olona ary hatrany amin’ ny avaratra ka hatrany amin’ ny atsinanana, eny, hivezivezy hitady ny tenin’ i Jehovah izy, nefa tsy hahita.
And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the North euen vnto the East shall they run to and from to seeke the worde of the Lord, and shall not finde it.
13 Amin’ izany andro izany dia ho jemby noho ny hetaheta ny virijina tsara tarehy sy ny zatovolahy,
In that day shall the faire virgines and the yong men perish for thirst.
14 Dia ireo izay mianiana amin’ ny fahotan’ i Samaria, ka manao hoe: velona koa ny andriamanitrao, ry Dana, ary raha velona koa ny fanaon’ i Beri-sheba; eny, ho lavo izy ka tsy hiarina intsony.
They that sweare by the sinne of Samaria, and that say, Thy God, O Dan, liueth, and the maner of Beer-sheba liueth, euen they shall fall, and neuer rise vp againe.
