Amosa 5
1 Henoinareo izao teny izao, izay entiko milaza anareo, dia hira fahalahelovana, ry taranak’ Isiraely;
Hear this word that I am bearing to you, A lamentation, O house of Israel:
2 Lavo Isiraely virijina ka tsy hahatsangana intsony; Nazera tamin’ ny taniny izy, ka tsy misy mangana azy.
'Fallen, not again to rise, hath the virgin of Israel, Left on her land — she hath no raiser up.'
3 Fa izao no lazain’ i Jehovah Tompo: Izay tanàna namoaka arivo, dia, indreo, zato monja no sisa: ary izay namoaka zato, dia, indreo, folo monja no sisa ho an’ ny taranak’ Isiraely.
For thus said the Lord Jehovah: The city that is going out a thousand, Doth leave an hundred, And that which is going out an hundred, Doth leave ten to the house of Israel.
4 Fa izao no lazain’ i Jehovah amin’ ny taranak’ Isiraely; Tadiavo Aho, dia ho velona ianareo;
For thus said Jehovah to the house of Israel: Seek ye Me, and live,
5 Fa aza mitady an’ i Betela, na mankany Gilgala, ary aza mandroso ho any Beri-sheba; Fa ho babo tokoa Gilgala, ary Betela dia ho tonga tsinontsinona.
And seek not Beth-El, and Gilgal enter not, And Beer-Sheba pass not through, For Gilgal doth utterly remove, And Beth-El doth become vanity.
6 Mitadiava an’ i Jehovah, dia ho velona ianareo; Fandrao hilatsaka toy ny afo mandevona amin’ ny taranak’ i Josefa Izy, ary Betela tsy hanana izay hahafaty ny afo,
Seek ye Jehovah, and live, Lest He prosper as fire [against] the house of Joseph, And it hath consumed, And there is no quencher for Beth-El.
7 Dia ianareo izay mamadika ny rariny ho zava-mahafaty ary mampiongana ny fahamarinana ho eo amin’ ny tany.
Ye who are turning to wormwood judgment, And righteousness to the earth have put down,
8 Ilay nanao an’ Ikotokelimiadilaona sy ny Telonohorefy, ary mampody ny aloky ny fahafatesana ho maraina sy manamaizina ny andro ho alina, dia ilay miantso ny rano ao an-dranomasina ka mandatsaka azy amin’ ny tany: Jehovah no anarany,
The maker of Kimah and Kesil, And the turner to morning of death-shade, And day [as] night He hath made dark, Who is calling to the waters of the sea, And poureth them on the face of the earth, Jehovah [is] His name;
9 Dia Ilay mampitselatra fandravana hamely ny mahery, ka dia mihatra amin’ ny tanàna mimanda ny fandravana.
Who is brightening up the spoiled against the strong, And the spoiled against a fortress cometh.
10 Halany eo am-bavahady izay mananatra, ary ataony ho fahavetavetana izay miteny ny marina.
They have hated a reprover in the gate, And a plain speaker they abominate.
11 Koa noho ny fanitsakitsahanareo ny mahantra sy ny nampandoavanareo vary azy, dia mba nanao trano vato voapaika ihany ianareo, nefa tsy hitoetra ao aminy; Namboly tanim-boaloboka mahafinaritra ihany ianareo, nefa tsy hisotro ny divay avy aminy.
Therefore, because of your trampling on the poor, And the tribute of corn ye take from him, Houses of hewn work ye have built, And ye do not dwell in them, Desirable vineyards ye have planted, And ye do not drink their wine.
12 Fa fantatro fa be ny helokareo, ary fatratra ny fahotanareo: Mampahory ny marina sy mandray kolikoly ianareo ary mamadika ny malahelo eo am-bavahady.
For I have known — many [are] your transgressions, And mighty your sins, Adversaries of the righteous, taking ransoms, And the needy in the gate ye turned aside.
13 Koa izay manan-tsaina dia hangina amin’ izao andro izao, fa andro mampahory izao.
Therefore is the wise at that time silent, For an evil time it [is].
14 Ny tsara no tadiavo, fa aza ny ratsy, mba ho velona ianareo; Ka dia homba anareo Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny maro, araka izay efa nolazainareo.
Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live, And it is so; Jehovah, God of Hosts, [is] with you, as ye said.
15 Ankahalao ny ratsy, ka tiavo ny tsara, ary aoreno eo am-pitsarana ny rariny; Angamba Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny maro, hamindra fo amin’ izay sisa amin’ i Josefa.
Hate evil, and love good, And set up judgment in the gate, It may be Jehovah, God of Hosts, doth pity the remnant of Joseph.
16 Koa izao no lazain’ i Jehovah Tompo, Andriamanitry ny maro: Eny an-kalalahana rehetra dia hisy fisaonana, ary eny an-dalambe rehetra dia hisy hanao hoe: Indrisy! Indrisy! Ary hiantso ny mpiasa tany hitomany izy, ary izay mahay hira fisaonana dia hantsoiny hanao.
Therefore, thus said Jehovah, God of Hosts, the Lord, In all broad places [is] lamentation, And in all out-places they say, 'Alas, alas,' And called the husbandman to mourning, And to lamentation the skilful of wailing.
17 Ary any amin’ ny tanim-boaloboka rehetra dia hisy fisaonana; Fa handeha hamaky eo aminao Aho, hoy Jehovah.
And in all vineyards [is] lamentation, For I pass into thy midst, said Jehovah.
18 Lozan’ izay maniry ny andron’ i Jehovah! Hataonareo inona moa ny andron’ i Jehovah? Dia aizina, fa tsy fahazavana,
Ho, ye who are desiring the day of Jehovah, Why [is] this to you — the day of Jehovah? It is darkness, and not light,
19 Tahaka ny olona mandositra ny liona ka sendra ny bera, ary rehefa tafiditra ao an-trano ka mitehin-tanana amin’ ny rindrina, dia kekerin’ ny menarana.
As [when] one fleeth from the face of the lion, And the bear hath met him, And he hath come in to the house, And hath leant his hand on the wall, And the serpent hath bitten him.
20 Moa tsy aizina va ny andron’ i Jehovah, fa tsy fahazavana? Tsy aizim-pito tsy misy mangirana akory va izany?
Is not the day of Jehovah darkness and not light, Even thick darkness that hath no brightness?
21 Halako, eny, laviko ny andro firavoravoanareo, ary tsy ho hanitra ankasitrahana amiko ny fivorianareo masìna.
I have hated — I have loathed your festivals, And I am not refreshed by your restraints.
22 Na dia ateranareo fanatitra dorana sy fanatitra hohanina aza Aho, dia tsy sitrako izany; Ny zanak’ omby mifahy aterinareo ho fanati-pihavanana dia tsy hojereko akory.
For though ye cause burnt-offerings and your presents to ascend to Me, I am not pleased, And the peace-offering of your fatlings I behold not.
23 Atsaharo ny finaonaonan’ ny hiranareo, fa maharenina Ahy; Fa tsy hihaino ny fanenon’ ny lokanganareo Aho.
Turn aside from Me the noise of thy songs, Yea, the praise of thy psaltery I hear not.
24 Ary aoka ny fitsarana hanalonalona toy ny rano, ary ny fahamarinana toy ny renirano tsy mety ritra.
And roll on as waters doth judgment, And righteousness as a perennial stream.
25 Moa efa nanatitra fanatitra hohanina sy fanatitra alatsa-drà ho Ahy tany an-efitra efa-polo taona va ianareo, ry taranak’ i Isiraely?
Sacrifices and offering did ye bring nigh to Me, In a wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
26 Tsia, fa ny nitondra ny tabernakelin’ ny mpanjakanareo sy ny fipetrahan’ ny sampinareo ihany no nataonareo, dia ny kintan’ ny andriamanitrareo, izay nataonareo ho anareo
And ye bare Succoth your king, and Chiun your images, The star of your god, that ye made for yourselves.
27 Ka dia ho entiko ho babo any ankoatr’ i Damaskosy ianareo, hoy Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny maro no anarany.
And I removed you beyond Damascus, Said Jehovah, God of Hosts [is] His name.
