< Asan'ny Apostoly 8 >
1 Ary Saoly mba nankasitraka ny namonoana azy koa. Ary tamin’ izany andro izany dia nisy fanenjehana mafy tamin’ ny fiangonana tany Jerosalema; ka dia niely teny amin’ ny tany Jodia sy Samaria izy rehetra, afa-tsy ny Apostoly ihany.
And, Saul, was taking pleasure with them in his death. Moreover there arose, in that day, a great persecution against the assembly which was in Jerusalem; [and], all, were scattered abroad throughout the countries of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
2 Ary mpivavaka tsara no nandevina an’ i Stefana sady nisaona azy fatratra.
Howbeit reverent men assisted at the burial of Stephen, and made great lamentation over him.
3 Fa Saoly nampahory mafy ny fiangonana, ka nidirany isan-trano sady nosarihany, na ny lehilahy na ny vehivavy, ka nataony tao an-tranomaizina.
But, Saul, went on to lay waste the assembly, along the houses, going in, and, dragging off both men and women, was
4 Ary izay niely dia nandeha nitory teny tontolo eny.
They, indeed, therefore, who were scattered abroad, passed through, telling the good-news of the word;
5 Ary Filipo nidina tany an-tanàna any Samaria ka nitory an’ i Kristy tamin’ ny olona tao.
And, Philip, going down unto the city of Samaria, proclaimed unto them the Christ.
6 Ary ny vahoaka betsaka dia niray hevitra nihaino izay nolazain’ i Filipo, raha nandre azy sy nahita ny fahagagana nataony.
And the multitudes began to give heed unto the things that were being spoken by Philip, with one accord, when they heard him, and saw the signs which he was working.
7 Fa ny fanahy maloto niantso tamin’ ny feo mahery, dia nivoaka tamin’ ny maro izay nanana azy; ary maro ny mararin’ ny paralysisa sy ny mandringa no nositraniny.
For, from many who had impure spirits, shouting with a loud voice, they were going out, and, many that were paralysed and lame, were cured.
8 Dia nisy fifaliana lehibe tao amin’ izany tanàna izany.
And there came to be great joy in that city.
9 Ary nisy lehilahy anankiray rahateo teo an-tanàna, atao hoe Simona, izay nanao ody ka nahatalanjona ny olona tany Samaria sady nandoka tena nanao azy ho zavatra;
But, a certain man named Simon, was already in the city, practising magical arts, and astonishing the nation of Samaria, —saying that himself was someone great:
10 ary nihaino azy ny olona rehetra, na ny kely na ny lehibe, ka nanao hoe: Ity lehilahy ity no herin’ Andriamanitra, izay atao hoe hery lehibe.
Unto whom all were giving heed, from small even to great, saying—This, is the Power of God, which is called Great.
11 Ary nihaino azy ny olona, satria efa ela no talanjona tamin’ ny odiny.
And they were giving heed to him, because that, for a considerable time, with his magical arts, he had astonished them.
12 Ary rehefa nino an’ i Filipo nitory ny teny soa mahafaly ny amin’ ny fanjakan’ Andriamanitra sy ny anaran’ i Jesosy Kristy ireo, dia natao batisa avokoa na lahy na vavy.
But, when they believed Philip telling the good news concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they proceeded to be immersed, both men and women.
13 Ary Simona koa mba nino; ary rehefa natao batisa izy, dia nanaraka an’ i Filipo. Ary talanjona izy, raha nahita ny famantarana sy ny asa lehibe izay natao.
And, Simon himself also, believed; and, having been immersed, was in constant attendance on Philip, —and, beholding signs and great works of power coming to pass, was astonished.
14 Ary nony ren’ ny Apostoly tany Jerosalema fa Samaria efa nandray ny tenin’ Andriamanitra, dia naniraka an’ i Petera sy Jaona izy hankany aminy.
And the Apostles who were in Jerusalem, hearing that Samaria had welcomed the word of God, sent out unto them Peter and John;
15 Nony tafidina tany izy roa lahy, dia nivavaka ho an’ ny olona mba handraisany ny Fanahy Masìna.
Who, indeed, going down, prayed for them, that they might receive Holy Spirit; —
16 Fa tsy mbola nisy nilatsahany izy na dia iray akory aza; fa natao batisa tamin’ ny anaran’ i Jesosy Tompo ihany izy.
For, not yet, had it, upon any one of them, fallen, but, only, to begin with, they had been immersed into the name of the Lord Jesus.
17 Ary izy roa lahy nametra-tanana taminy, ka dia nandray ny Fanahy Masìna ireo.
Then, proceeded they to lay their hands upon them, and they were receiving Holy Spirit.
18 Ary Simona, nony nahita fa ny fametrahan’ ny Apostoly tanana no nanomezana ny Fanahy Masìna, dia nitondra vola homena azy
But Simon, seeing that, through means of the laying on of the hands of the Apostles, the Spirit was being given, offered unto them money,
19 ka nanao hoe: Omeo izany fahefana izany koa aho, mba handray ny Fanahy Masìna izay olona hametrahako tanana.
Saying—Give unto me also this authority, —in order that, on whomsoever may lay my hands, he may receive Holy Spirit.
20 Fa hoy Petera taminy: Aoka ho very mbamin’ ny tenanao ny volanao, satria nataonao fa azo vidim-bola ny fanomezan’ Andriamanitra.
And Peter said unto him—Thy silver, with thee, go to destruction! Because, the free-gift of God, thou didst suppose could, with money, be obtained!
21 Tsy manana anjara na raharaha amin’ izany zavatra izany ianao, satria tsy mahitsy fo eo anatrehan’ Andriamanitra.
Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter; for, thy heart, is not upright before God.
22 Koa mibebaha amin’ izao haratsianao izao, ka mangataha amin’ ny Tompo, andrao mba havelany izay noheverin’ ny fonao.
Repent, therefore, from this thy baseness, and entreat of the Lord—whether, after all, the purpose of thy heart shall be forgiven thee;
23 Fa hitako fa mbola mitoetra amin’ ny fangidian’ afero sy ny fehin-keloka ihany ianao.
For see that thou servest as a gall-root of bitterness, and a bond of unrighteousness.
24 Ary Simona namaly ka nanao hoe: Mangataha ho ahy amin’ ny Tompo, mba tsy ho tonga amiko izay nolazainareo.
And Simon, answering, said—Entreat ye, in my behalf, unto the Lord; that, nothing, may come upon me, of the things whereof ye have spoken!
25 Ary rehefa nanambara sy nitory ny tenin’ ny Tompo Petera sy Jaona, dia niverina nankany Jerosalema ka nitory ny filazantsara teny amin’ ny vohitra maro izay an’ ny Samaritana.
They, therefore, having fully borne witness, and spoken the word of the Lord, began their return unto Jerusalem, and, unto many villages of the Samaritans, were they telling the glad tidings.
26 Ary nisy anjelin’ ny Tompo nilaza tamin’ i Filipo ka nanao hoe: Mitsangàna, ka mandehana mianatsimo ho any amin’ ny lalana midìna avy any Jerosalema mankany Gaza; dia efitra izany.
And, a messenger of the Lord, spake unto Philip, saying—Arise, and be journeying along southward, unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, —the same, is desert.
27 Dia nitsangana izy ka lasa nandeha; ary, indro, nisy lehilahy Etiopiana, tandapan’ i Kandasy, mpanjakavavin’ ny Etiopiana, sady mpitahiry ny hareny rehetra, ary tonga tany Jerosalema izy mba hivavaka;
And, arising, he journeyed. And lo! a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch, one in power under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure [who] had come to worship in Jerusalem;
28 dia nody izy ka nipetraka teo anatin’ ny kalesiny ary namaky teny tao amin’ Isaia mpaminany
And was returning, and, sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah.
29 Dia hoy ny Fanahy tamin’ i Filipo: Andeha manatona ka mankanesa amin’ io kalesy io.
And the Spirit said unto Philip—Go near, and join thyself unto this chariot!
30 Ary Filipo nihazakazaka nankeo aminy, dia nandre azy mamaky teny tao amin’ Isaia mpaminany, ka niteny taminy hoe: Moa fantatrao va izay vakinao?
And, running near, Philip heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said—Dost thou, then, understand what thou art reading?
31 Fa hoy izy: Hataoko ahoana no fahay, raha tsy misy mampianatra ahy? Ary izy nangataka an’ i Filipo hiakatra sy hipetraka eo aminy.
And, he, said—How indeed should be able—unless someone shall guide me? And he called upon Philip, to come up and sit with him.
32 Ary izao no tenin’ ny Soratra Masìna novakiny: Nentina hovonoina tahaka ny ondry Izy, Ary tsy niloa-bava, Tahaka ny zanak’ ondry moana eo anoloan’ ny mpanety azy;
Now, the passage of Scripture which he was reading, was, this: —As a sheep, unto slaughter, was he led, and, as a lamb, before him that sheareth it, is dumb, so, he openeth not his mouth.
33 Ny fietren-tena no nanaovana Azy resy lahatra; Ary iza no hahalaza ny amin’ ny niara-belona taminy? Fa ny ainy nesorina tamin’ ny tany.
In his humiliation, his judgment was taken away, —his generation, who shall describe? because, his life, is taken away from the earth.
34 Ary ilay tandapa namaly an’ i Filipo ka nanao hoe: Masona ianao, iza moa no lazain’ ny mpaminany amin’ izany? Ny tenany va, sa olon-kafa?
And the eunuch, making answer unto Philip, said—I pray thee! Of whom, is the prophet saying this? of himself, or, of some different person?
35 Ary Filipo niloa-bava, dia nanomboka teo amin’ izany Soratra Masìna izany nitory an’ i Jesosy taminy.
And Philip, opening his mouth, and beginning from this scripture, told him the glad tidings of Jesus.
36 Ary raha nandeha teny an-dalana izy, dia tonga teo amin’ izay nisy rano; ary hoy ilay tandapa: Indro rano, ka inona moa no misakana ahy tsy hatao batisa?
And, as they were journeying along the way, they came unto a certain water, —and the eunuch saith—Lo! water! What doth hinder my being immersed?
38 Dia nasainy najanona ny kalesy; ary izy roa lahy, dia Filipo sy ilay tandapa, nidina ho eo amin’ ny rano; dia nataony batisa izy.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still; and they went down, both, into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, —and he immersed him.
39 Ary rehefa niakatra avy teo amin’ ny rano izy roa lahy, dia nentin’ ny Fanahin’ ny Tompo Filipo ka tsy hitan’ ilay tandapa intsony; fa nandeha tamin’ ny nalehany izy sady nifaly.
But, when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, and the eunuch saw him no more; for he was going on his way rejoicing.
40 Fa Filipo hita tany Azota, dia nitory ny filazantsara tany amin’ ny tanàna rehetra izay nalehany ambara-pahatongany tany Kaisaria.
Now Philip was found at Azotus; and, passing through, he was telling the glad tidings unto all the cities, until he came unto Caesarea.
