< Asan'ny Apostoly 24 >
1 Ary rehefa afaka hadimiana dia nidina Ananiasy mpisoronabe mbamin’ ny loholona sasany sy Tertylo, mpandaha-teny anankiray, izay nanambara tamin’ ny mpanapaka ny niampangany an’ i Paoly.
And, after five days, the high, Ananias, came down, with the elders, and a certain orator, named Tertullus: and they made their appearance before the governor, against Paul.
2 Ary rehefa nantsoina izy, dia niampanga azy Tertylo ka nanao hoe:
And he being called, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, As we enjoy great peace by your means, and as illustrious deeds are happily done to this nation, by your prudent administration;
3 Hianao no ahazoanay fiadanana lehibe, ary ny fitondranao efa nampandry tsara ity firenena ity; koa raisinay amin’ ny fankasitrahana mandrakariva eny tontolo eny izany, ry Feliksa tsara indrindra ô.
we accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.
4 Fa mba tsy hanahirana anao ela loatra aho, trarantitra ianao, henoy kely amin’ ny faharetana izahay.
But, that I may not further trouble you, I beseech you to hear us briefly, with your usual candor.
5 Fa io lehilahy io dia hitanay fa tena ratsy fanahy sady mpampikomy ny Jiosy rehetra eny tontolo eny, ary izy no tari-dalan’ ilay antoko atao hoe Nazarena.
for we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world; and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:
6 Izy io koa nitady handoto ny tempoly; dia nosamborinay izy;
who has attempted to profane the temple; and whom we apprehended, and would have judged according to our law;
but Lysias, the commander, coming upon us with a great force, took him away out of our hands,
8 ary rehefa manadina azy ianao, dia ho fantatrao marina izay rehetra iampanganay azy.
commanding his accusers to come to you; by which means, you may yourself, on examination, know the certainty of all these things, of which we accuse him.
9 Ary ny Jiosy koa dia nanaiky sy nilaza fa izany no izy.
And the Jews also gave their assent, saying, that these things were so.
10 Ary rehefa notondroin’ ny mpanapaka hiteny Paoly, dia namaly ka nanao hoe: Fantatro fa ianao dia efa mpitsara ela tamin’ ity firenena ity, ka dia faly aho handaha-teny hanala tsiny ny tenako;
Then Paul, after the governor had made a signal to him to speak, answered, Knowing that you, O Felix! have been for several years a judge to this nation, I answer for myself with the more cheerfulness;
11 fa azonao fantarina mora fa tsy mba mihoatra noho ny roa ambin’ ny folo andro izay no niakarako hivavaka tany Jerosalema.
since you may know that it is no more than twelve days since I went up to worship at Jerusalem;
12 Ary tsy nisy nahita ahy niady hevitra tamin’ olona teo an-kianjan’ ny tempoly na nampitabataba ny vahoaka tao amin’ ny synagoga, na tao an-tanàna;
and they neither found me disputing with any man in the temple, nor making any insurrection among the people, either in the synagogues, or in the city:
13 ary tsy hainy hamarinina eto anatrehanao izay zavatra iampangany ahy ankehitriny.
nor can they produce any proof of the things concerning which they now accuse me.
14 Fa izao no ekeko aminao, fa araka ny fampianarana izay ataony hoe fitokoana no anompoako an’ Andriamanitry ny razako, sady inoako izay rehetra voasoratra eo amin’ ny lalàna sy ny mpaminany,
But this I confess to you, that after the way which they call a sect, so worship I the God of our fathers; believing all things which are written in the law, and in the prophets;
15 ary manantena amin’ Andriamanitra aho, izay antenain’ izy ireo koa, fa hisy fitsanganan’ ny marina sy ny meloka.
having hope toward God, of that which they themselves also expect, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and of the unjust.
16 Ary amin’ izany dia mikely aina koa aho mba hanana fieritreretana tsy manameloka ahy na amin’ Andriamanitra na amin’ olombelona mandrakariva.
And upon this account, I exercise myself to have always a conscience without offense toward God, and toward men.
17 Ary nony afaka taona maro, dia tonga aho hitondra fiantrana sy fanatitra ho an’ ny fireneko.
Now, after several years, I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings:
18 Ary tamin’ izay dia hitany voadio teo an-kianjan’ ny tempoly aho, tsy tamin’ ny olona maro anefa, na tamin’ ny fitabatabana; fa nisy Jiosy sasany avy any Asia,
upon which some Asiatic Jews found me purified in the temple; neither with multitude nor with tumult;
19 ― tokony hiseho eto anatrehanao ireo mba hiampanga ahy, raha tàhiny misy izay hiampangany ahy.
who ought to have been present before you, and to accuse me, if they had anything against me:
20 Na aoka ireto olona ireto ihany no hilaza izay ratsy hitany raha nitsangana teo anatrehan’ ny Synedriona aho,
or let these themselves say, if, when I stood before the Sanhedrim,
21 afa-tsy izao teny iray loha izao ihany, dia ilay nantsoiko raha nijanona teo afovoany aho hoe: Ny amin’ ny fitsanganan’ ny maty no itsarana ahy eto anatrehanareo anio.
they found any crime in me; unless it be with relation to this one word, which I expressed, when I stood among them--that, for the resurrection of the dead, I am judged by you this day.
22 Ary satria fantatr’ i Feliksa tsaratsara kokoa ny amin’ izany fampianarana izany, dia nampandeha azy rehetra izy aloha ka nanao hoe: Rehefa tafidinay Lysia, mpifehy arivo, dia hofotorako tsara ny raharahanareo.
And when Felix heard these things, he put them off, saying, After I have been more accurately informed concerning this way, when Lysias, the commander, comes down, I will take cognizance of the affair between you.
23 Ary izy nandidy ny kapiteny hiambina an’ i Paoly sy hamela azy hitsangantsangana ary tsy handrara olona na dia iray akory aza amin’ ny sakaizany izay ho avy hanompo azy.
And he commanded the centurion to keep Paul, and let him have liberty, and to hinder none of his friends from assisting him, or coming to him.
24 Ary rehefa afaka andro vitsivitsy, dia tonga Feliksa sy Drosila vadiny, vehivavy Jiosy, dia nampaka an’ i Paoly izy ka nihaino azy nitory ny finoana an’ i Kristy Jesosy.
And, after some days, Felix, coming the Drusilla his wife, who was a Jewess, sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.
25 Ary raha nitory ny amin’ ny fahamarinana sy ny fahononana ary ny fitsarana ho avy izy, dia raiki-tahotra Feliksa ka namaly hoe: Mandehana angaloha; fa raha malalaka, dia hampaka anao indray aho.
And he reasoned concerning righteousness and temperance, and judgment to come, Felix, trembling, answered, Go your way for this time, and I will take some future opportunity to call for you.
26 Sady nanantena koa izy fa homen’ i Paoly vola; ka dia nampaka azy matetika izy ka niresaka taminy.
And he hoped, also, that money would be given him by Paul, that he might be set at liberty: and, therefore, he sent the more frequently for him, and discoursed with him.
27 Ary rehefa afaka roa taona, dia Porsio Festosy no nandimby an’ i Feliksa; ary Feliksa ta-hahazo sitraka tamin’ ny Jiosy, ka dia mbola navelany ho mpifatotra ihany Paoly.
Now, after two years were ended, Felix was succeeded by Portius Festus; and Felix, willing to ingratiate himself with the Jews, left Paul a prisoner.
