< Asan'ny Apostoly 18 >

1 Ary rehefa afaka izany, dia niala tany Atena Paoly ka nankany Korinto.
After these things, Paul departed from Athens and came to Corinth;
2 Ary izy nahita Jiosy anankiray atao hoe Akoila, izay teraka tany Ponto, vao avy tany Italia, ary Prisila vadiny (fa Klaodio efa nandidy ny Jiosy rehetra hiala tany Roma), dia nankeo amin’ izy mivady Paoly.
and finding a certain Jews, named Aquila, a native of Pontus, lately come from Italy, with Priscilla, his wife, (because Claudius Cesar had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome, ) he went to them.
3 Ary satria niray raharaha taminy izy, dia nitoetra tao aminy ka niasa; fa ny manao lay no raharahany.
And as he was of the same trade, he continued with them, and wrought; for by trade they were tent-makers.
4 Ary niady hevitra isan-tSabata tao amin’ ny synagoga izy ka nampanaiky ny Jiosy sy ny jentilisa.
But he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath day, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
5 Ary rehefa tafidina avy tany Makedonia Silasy sy Timoty, dia voaterin’ ny teny Paoly ka nanambara tamin’ ny Jiosy fa Jesosy no Kristy.
And as soon as Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul was impelled by the Spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah.
6 Ary nony nanohitra sy niteny ratsy ireo, dia nanopakopa-damba izy ka nanao taminy hoe: Aoka ho ao an-dohanareo ny ranareo; afaka aho; ary amin’ izao sisa izao dia hankany amin’ ny jentilisa aho.
But when they set themselves in opposition, and reviled, he shook his garment, and said to them, Let your blood be upon your own head! I am pure. From henceforth I will go to the Gentiles.
7 Ary raha niala teo izy, dia niditra tao an-tranon’ ny lehilahy atao hoe Titosy Josto, izay nivavaka tamin’ Andriamanitra; ary ny tranony nifanolotra tamin’ ny synagoga.
And going out thence, he went into the house of one called Justus, a worshiper of God, whose house was adjoining the synagogue.
8 Ary Krispo, mpanapaka ny synagoga, mbamin’ ny ankohonany rehetra dia nino ny Tompo; ary maro koa ny Korintiana, raha nandre, dia nino ka natao batisa.
Now, Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, with all his house; and many of the Corinthians, hearing, believed; and were immersed.
9 Ary ny Tompo niteny tamin’ i Paoly tamin’ ny fahitana nony alina ka nanao hoe: Aza matahotra, fa mitenena ihany, ka aza mangìna;
But the Lord said to Paul, in a vision by night, Fear not, but speak, and do not keep silence;
10 fa Izaho momba anao, ary tsy hisy olona hihazona anao hanisy ratsy anao; fa manana olona maro amin’ ity tanàna ity Aho.
for I am with you, and no man shall fall on you, to injure you; for I have much people in this city.
11 Ary izy nitoetra teo herintaona sy enim-bolana ka nampianatra ny tenin’ Andriamanitra teo aminy.
And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
12 Fa raha Galio no governora tany Akaia dia niray tetika hisambotra an’ i Paoly ny Jiosy, ary nitondra azy nankeo amin’ ny fitsarana,
But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews made an assault upon Paul, with one consent, and brought him before the tribunal,
13 ka dia nanao hoe: Ilehio mampanaiky ny olona hivavaka amin’ Andriamanitra, nefa tsy araka ny lalàna.
saying, This fellow persuades men to worship God contrary to the law.
14 Ary raha hiloa-bava Paoly, dia hoy Galio tamin’ ny Jiosy: Ry Jiosy, raha misy heloka, na zavatra ratsy natao, dia mety raha mandefitra aminareo aho;
And when Paul would have opened his mouth, Gallio said to the the Jews, If it were an act of injustice, or mischievous licentiousness, O Jews! it were reasonable I should bear with you.
15 fa raha ady hevitra sy anarana ary ny lalànareo kosa, dia ataovinareo ihany; fa izaho tsy te-hitsara izany raharaha izany.
But if it be a question concerning words, and names, and the law which is among you, you see to it yourselves; for I will be no judge of these matters.
16 Ary nandroaka azy hiala teo anoloan’ ny fitsarana izy.
And he drove them away from the tribunal.
17 Ary izy rehetra nisambotra an’ i Sostena, mpanapaka ny synagoga, dia nikapoka azy teo anoloan’ ny fitsarana. Nefa tsy nahoan’ i Galio izany zavatra izany.
And all the Greeks laid hold on Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the tribunal; but Gallio did not concern himself at all about the matter.
18 Ary Paoly mbola nitoetra teo andro maromaro ihany, ary rehefa nanao veloma ny rahalahy izy, dia niondrana an-tsambo nankany Syria, ary Prisila sy Akoila niaraka taminy koa; ny volon-dohany nohetezany tany Kenkrea, satria efa nivoady izy.
And Paul still continued there for a considerable time, and then taking leave of the brethren, sailed thence for Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shaved his head at Cenchrea, for he had a vow.
19 Ary tonga tany Efesosy izy, dia nandao azy mivady teo Paoly ka lasa niditra tao amin’ ny synagoga ka niady hevitra tamin’ ny Jiosy.
And he arrived at Ephesus, and there he left them; but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.
20 Ary nangataka azy hitoetra elaela kokoa ny olona, fa tsy nety izy,
And though they entreated him to have staid longer with them, he did not consent:
21 fa nanao veloma azy ka nanao hoe: Mbola hiverina hankatỳ aminareo indray aho, raha sitrapon’ Andriamanitra. Dia niondrana an-tsambo niala tany Efesosy izy.
but he took his leave of them, saying, It is necessary for me, all means, to celebrate the approaching feast at Jerusalem; but I will return to you again, God willing. And he set sail from Ephesus.
22 Ary rehefa tafatody tany Kaisaria izy, dia niakatra ka niarahaba ny fiangonana vao nidina nankany Antiokia.
And landing at Cesarea, he went up; and having saluted the congregation, he went down to Antioch.
23 Ary rehefa nitoetra tao elaela ihany izy, dia lasa nandeha nitety ny tany Galatia sy Frygia ka nampahery ny mpianatra rehetra.
and having saluted the congregation, he went down to Antioch. And having spent some time there, he departed, going through the country of Galatia and Phrygia, in a regular manner confirming all the disciples.
24 Ary tonga tany Efesosy ny Jiosy anankiray atao hoe Apolosy, izay teraka tany Aleksandria, lehilahy nahay nandaha-teny sady nahery tamin’ ny Soratra Masìna.
Now, a certain Jew, whose name was Apollos, a native of Alexandria, an eloquent man, and powerful in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
25 Izany lehilahy izany efa nampianarina ny lalan’ ny Tompo; ary nafana fo izy, dia niteny sy nampianatra marimarina ny amin’ i Jesosy, kanefa ny batisan’ i Jaona ihany no fantany.
This person was instructed in the way of the Lord, and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught them things of the Lord with great accuracy, being only acquainted with the immersion of John.
26 Ary izy niteny tamin’ ny fahasahiana teo amin’ ny synagoga; ary rehefa nandre azy Prisila sy Akoila, dia nandray azy hankao aminy ka nampianatra azy marimarina kokoa ny amin’ ny lalan’ Andriamanitra.
And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. And Aquila and Priscilla hearing him, took him aside, and explained to him the way of God in a more perfect manner.
27 Ary rehefa ta-handroso hankany Akaia izy, dia namporisika azy ny rahalahy sady nanoratra taratasy ho any amin’ ny mpianatra mba handray azy tsara; ary rehefa tonga izy, dia nampahatanjaka tsara izay efa nino noho ny fahasoavana;
And when he intended to go over to Achaia, the brethren wrote to the disciples, exhorting them to receive him. And being arrived there, by his gift he greatly helped those who had believed.
28 fa izy nahery nandresy lahatra ny Jiosy teo imason’ ny olona ka naneho marimarina tamin’ ny Soratra Masìna fa Jesosy no Kristy.
For he strenuously debated with the Jews in public, showing by the scriptures, that Jesus is the Messiah.
