2 Timoty 2
1 Koa ianao, anaka, dia aoka hihahery amin’ ny fahasoavana izay ao amin’ i Kristy Jesosy.
Do you, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus;
2 Ary izay zavatra efa renao tamiko teo anatrehan’ ny vavolombelona maro dia atolory ny olona mahatoky, izay hahay mampianatra ny sasany kosa.
and the things which you have heard from me through many witnesses, these do you commit to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
3 Miaraha miaritra ny mafy amiko ianao tahaka ny miaramila tsaran’ i Kristy Jesosy.
Do you, therefore, suffer evil, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 Ny miaramila manafika dia tsy mba misy maningo-tena amin’ ny raharahan’ izao fiainana izao, mba hahafaly izay efa nifidy azy ho miaramila.
Every one that serves as a soldier keeps himself free from the business of this life, that he may please him that has chosen him to be a soldier.
5 Ary raha misy manezaka amin’ ny filalaovana, dia tsy satrohana satro-boninahitra izy, raha tsy manezaka araka ny lalàna.
And if any one also contend in the public games, he is not crowned, unless he contend according to the laws.
6 Ny mpiasa tany izay misasatra no tokony ho voalohany handray ny vokatra.
It is necessary that, the farmer should labor, before he partakes of the fruits.
7 Diniho izay lazaiko, fa homen’ ny Tompo fahazavan-tsaina ny amin’ ny zavatra rehetra ianao.
Consider what I say, for I pray that the Lord may give you understanding in all things.
8 Tsarovy Jesosy Kristy Izay natsangana tamin’ ny maty, dia Ilay avy tamin’ ny taranak’ i Davida, araka ny filazantsarako,
Remember that Jesus Christ, of the posterity of David, was raised from the dead, according to my gospel;
9 izay iaretako fahoriana hatramin’ ny fatorana aza, hoatra ny mpanao ratsy; nefa ny tenin’ Andriamanitra dia tsy mba voafatotra.
in which I suffer evil, as an evil-doer, even to bonds: but the word of God is not bound.
10 Izany no iaretako ny zavatra rehetra noho ny amin’ ny olom-boafidy, mba hahazoan’ ireny koa famonjena, dia izay ao amin’ i Kristy Jesosy, mbamin’ ny voninahitra mandrakizay. (aiōnios g166)
For this reason I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. (aiōnios g166)
11 Mahatoky izao teny izao: Fa raha miara-maty aminy isika, dia hiara-belona aminy koa;
Assuredly true is the saying: If indeed we have died with him, we shall also live with him;
12 raha miaritra isika, dia hiara-manjaka aminy; raha mandà Azy isika, Izy kosa handà antsika;
if we are patient, we shall also reign with him; if we deny him, he will also deny us;
13 fa na dia tsy matoky Azy aza isika, dia mbola mahatoky ihany Izy, fa tsy mahazo mandà ny tenany.
if we are unfaithful, he remains faithful: he can not deny himself.
14 Izany zavatra izany no ampahatsiarovy ny olona, ka anaro mafy eo anatrehan’ ny Tompo izy mba tsy hiady teny, satria tsy mahasoa akory izany, fa mamadika ny mpihaino,
Put them in mind of these things, charging them before the Lord that they dispute not about words to no profit, which disputes end in the overthrow of the hearers.
15 Mazotoa manolotra ny tenanao amin’ Andriamanitra ho olona voazaha toetra, dia mpiasa tsy mahazo henatra, mizara tsara ny teny fahamarinana.
Strive to present yourself to God as approved, a workman that has no cause to be ashamed, rightly setting forth the word of truth.
16 Fa halaviro ny fibedibedena foana; fa mbola handroso amin’ ny haratsiam-panahy ihany izy ireny,
But shun profane and vain babblings; for they will make further advance to ungodliness,
17 ary ny teniny dia handany tahaka ny aretina mihady; isan ireny Hymeneo sy Fileto,
and their word will eat as a gangrene: of whom are Hymenæus and Philetus,
18 izay nania tamin’ ny marina ka milaza fa efa lasa sahady ny fitsanganan’ ny maty, dia mamadika ny finoan’ ny sasany.
who, as it respects the truth, have erred, saying that the resurrection has already taken place; and they overthrow the faith of some.
19 Kanefa ny fanorenana mafy nataon’ Andriamanitra dia miorina tsara sady manana izao tombo-kase izao: “Ny Tompo mahalala ny azy”, ary koa: “Aoka ny olona rehetra izay manonona ny anaran’ ny Tompo hiala amin’ ny ratsy.”
But the foundation of God stands firm, having this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his; and, Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 Fa ao an-trano lehibe, tsy dia fanaka volamena sy volafotsy ihany no ao, fa fanaka hazo sy tany koa, ny sasany homem-boninahitra, ary ny sasany halam-baraka.
In a great house, however, there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth, and some for honor, and some for dishonor.
21 Koa raha misy olona manadio ny tenany ho afaka amin’ ireny, dia ho fanaka homem-boninahitra izy, efa nohamasinina ka mahasoa ho an’ ny Tompo, voavoatra ho amin’ ny asa tsara rehetra.
If, therefore, any one will cleanse himself from these strifes about words, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, highly useful to the master, prepared for every good work.
22 Fa mandosira ny filan’ ny tanora fanahy; ary miezaha mitady fahamarinana, finoana, fitiavana, fihavanana amin’ izay miantso ny Tompo amin’ ny fo madio.
Shun youthful desires, and follow righteousness, faithfulness, love, peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 Fa mandava ny fanontaniana adaladala tsy misy antony, satria fantatrao fa mahatonga ady izany.
But avoid foolish and unprofitable questions, because you know that they produce contentions:
24 Ary tsy mety raha miady ny mpanompon’ ny Tompo, fa ho malemy fanahy amin’ ny olona rehetra, mahay mampianatra, mahalefitra,
and the servant of the Lord must not be contentious, but gentle toward all men, able to teach, patient under evils,
25 mananatra ny mpanohitra amin’ ny fahamoram-panahy; fa angamba Andriamanitra hanome azy fibebahana hahalalany tsara ny marina,
in meekness instructing those who oppose themselves, if, possibly, God may give them repentance in order to the acknowledgment of the truth,
26 ka hody ny sainy ho afaka amin’ ny fandriky ny devoly, izay nanao azy sambo-belona hanao ny sitrapony.
and that they may awake to sobriety out of the snare of the devil, after having been taken captive by him according to his will.
