< 2 Samoela 24 >
1 Ary ny fahatezeran’ i Jehovah nirehitra indray tamin’ ny Isiraely, ka dia nanome saina an’ i Davida Izy hanao izay hahatonga loza amin’ ny vahoakany hoe: Mandehana, isao ny Isiraely sy ny Joda.
Again the LORD’s anger burned against Israel, and he moved David against them, saying, “Go, count Israel and Judah.”
2 Dia hoy ny mpanjaka tamin’ i Joaba, komandin’ ny miaramila, izay teo aminy: Mandehana mitety ny firenen’ isiraely rehetra hatrany Dana ka hatrany Beri-sheba, ary alaminonareo ny vahoaka mba ho fantatro ny isany.
The king said to Joab the captain of the army, who was with him, “Now go back and forth through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, and count the people, that I may know the sum of the people.”
3 Fa hoy Joaba amin’ ny mpanjaka: Jehovah Andriamanitrao anie hampitombo ny vahoaka ho injato toy izao, na firy na firy izy, ka ho hitan’ ny mason’ ny mpanjaka tompoko izany; fa ahoana no itiavan’ ny mpanjaka tompoko hanao izany zavatra izany?
Joab said to the king, “Now may the LORD your God add to the people, however many they may be, one hundred times; and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king delight in this thing?”
4 Nefa tsy azon’ i Joaba sy ny komandin’ ny miaramila nolavina ny tenin’ ny mpanjaka. Ary Joaba sy ny komandin’ ny miaramila nivoaka avy teo anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka handamina ny lehilahy amin’ ny Isiraely.
Notwithstanding, the king’s word prevailed against Joab and against the captains of the army. Joab and the captains of the army went out from the presence of the king to count the people of Israel.
5 Ary nita an’ i Jordana izy ireo ka nitoby tao Aroera eo ankavanan’ ilay tanàna afovoan’ ny lohasahan-driak’ i Gada, dia nankany Jazera.
They passed over the Jordan and encamped in Aroer, on the right side of the city that is in the middle of the valley of Gad, and to Jazer;
6 Dia tonga tany Gileada izy, tany amin’ ny tamin’ i Tatima-hodsy, dia tonga tany Danajana izy, ka nanodidina hatrany Sidona,
then they came to Gilead and to the land of Tahtim Hodshi; and they came to Dan Jaan and around to Sidon,
7 ary tonga tao Tyro, tanàna mimanda, sy tany amin’ ny tanànan’ ny Hivita sy ny Kananita rehetra, ary dia nankany amin’ ny tany atsimo izay an’ ny Joda hatrany Beri-sheba izy.
and came to the stronghold of Tyre, and to all the cities of the Hivites and of the Canaanites; and they went out to the south of Judah, at Beersheba.
8 Ary nony efa nitety ny tany rehetra izy, dia tonga tany Jeroselama, rehefa afaka sivy volana sy roa-polo andro.
So when they had gone back and forth through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.
9 Dia natolotr’ i Joaba ny mpanjaka ny isan’ ny vahoaka voalamina, ka nisy valo hetsy ny lehilahy mahery nahatan-tsabatra tamin’ ny Isiraely, ary dimy hetsy ny lehilahy tamin’ ny Joda.
Joab gave up the sum of the counting of the people to the king; and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword, and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.
10 Ary ny eritreritr’ i Davida namely azy, rehefa voaisany ny olona. Ka dia hoy Davida tamin’ i Jehovah: Efa nanota indrindra aho tamin’ izao nataoko izao; koa ankehitriny mifona aminao aho, Jehovah ô, esory ny heloky ny mpanomponao, fa efa nanao fahadalana lehibe aho.
David’s heart struck him after he had counted the people. David said to the LORD, “I have sinned greatly in that which I have done. But now, the LORD, put away, I beg you, the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly.”
11 Ary raha nifoha maraina Davida, dia tonga tamin’ i Gada mpaminany, mpahitan’ i Davida, ny tenin’ i Jehovah nanao hoe:
When David rose up in the morning, the LORD’s word came to the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying,
12 Mandehana, ka lazao amin’ i Davida hoe: Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah: Zavatra telo no apetrako eto anoloanao, koa fidio izay iray hataoko aminao.
“Go and speak to David, ‘The LORD says, “I offer you three things. Choose one of them, that I may do it to you.”’”
13 Ary Gada nankany amin’ i Davida dia nanambara izany taminy ka nanao hoe: Mosary fito taona va no tianao ho tonga aminao eto amin’ ny taninao? Sa handositra telo volana eo anoloan’ ny fahavalonao ianao, fa henjehiny? Sa areti-mandringana hateloana eto amin’ ny taninao? Koa saino sy hevero izay valiny ho entiko miverina any amin’ izay naniraka ahy.
So Gad came to David, and told him, saying, “Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or will you flee three months before your foes while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ pestilence in your land? Now answer, and consider what answer I shall return to him who sent me.”
14 Dia hoy Davida tamin’ i Gada: Indrisy! poritra loatra aho! aleontsika ho azon’ ny tànan’ i Jehovah, fa lehibe ny famindram-pony toy izay ho azon’ izay tànan’ olona.
David said to Gad, “I am in distress. Let us fall now into the LORD’s hand, for his mercies are great. Let me not fall into man’s hand.”
15 Ka dia nasian’ i Jehovah areti-mandringana ny Isiraely nony maraina ka hatramin’ ilay fotoana; ary dia nahafatesana fito alina ny olona hatrany Dana ka hatrany Beri-sheba.
So the LORD sent a pestilence on Israel from the morning even to the appointed time; and seventy thousand men died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba.
16 Ary naninjitra ny tànany tany Jerosalema Ilay Anjely handringana ny any; fa Jehovah nanenina ny amin’ ny loza ka nanao tamin’ ilay Anjely Izay nandringana ny olona hoe: Aoka izay, atsaharo ny tananao ankehitriny. Ary Ilay Anjelin’ i Jehovah dia teo amin’ ny famoloan’ i Araona Jebosita.
When the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD relented of the disaster, and said to the angel who destroyed the people, “It is enough. Now withdraw your hand.” The LORD’s angel was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
17 Ary nony hitan’ i Davida Ilay Anjely namely ny olona, dia niteny tamin’ i Jehovah izy nanao hoe: Indro, izaho no efa nanota, ary izaho no efa anao ratsy; fa ireo ondry ireo kosa, inona moa no mba nataony? Koa mifona aminao re aho, aoka ny tananao hamely ahy sy ny mpianakavin’ ny raiko.
David spoke to the LORD when he saw the angel who struck the people, and said, “Behold, I have sinned, and I have done perversely; but these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand be against me, and against my father’s house.”
18 Ary Gada nankany amin’ i Davida tamin’ izany andro izany ka nanao taminy hoe: Miakara, ka manangàna alitara ho an’ i Jehovah ao amin’ ny famoloan’ i Araona Jebosita.
Gad came that day to David and said to him, “Go up, build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.”
19 Koa dia niakatra Davida araka ny tenin’ i Gada, araka izay nandidian’ i Jehovah.
David went up according to the saying of Gad, as the LORD commanded.
20 Ary Araona nitsirika ka nahita ny mpanjaka sy ny mpanompony manatona azy, dia nivoaka izy ka niankohoka tamin’ ny tany teo anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka.
Araunah looked out, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him. Then Araunah went out and bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.
21 Ary hoy Araona: Ahoana no ahatongavan’ ny mpanjaka tompoko atỳ amin’ ny mpanompony? Dia hoy Davida: Hividy ny famoloana aminao mba hanorenako alitara ho an’ i Jehovah hitsaharan’ ny areti-mandringana tsy hamely ny olona intsony.
Araunah said, “Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” David said, “To buy your threshing floor, to build an altar to the LORD, that the plague may be stopped from afflicting the people.”
22 Fa hoy Araona tamin’ i Davida: Aoka ny mpanjaka tompoko haka izay sitrany ka hanatitra izany. Indreo ny omby ho fanatitra dorana ary ny fivelezam-bary sy ny hazo amin’ ny omby hatao kitay.
Araunah said to David, “Let my lord the king take and offer up what seems good to him. Behold, the cattle for the burnt offering, and the threshing sledges and the yokes of the oxen for the wood.
23 Izany rehetra izany, ry mpanjaka, dia omen’ i Araona ny mpanjaka. Ary hoy Araona tamin’ ny mpanjaka: Jehovah Andriamanitrao anie hankasitraka anao.
All this, O king, does Araunah give to the king.” Araunah said to the king, “May the LORD your God accept you.”
24 Ary hoy ny mpanjaka tamin’ i Araona: Tsia, fa hovidiko aminao mihitsy araka izay tokom-bidiny ireo; fa tsy hanatitra fanatitra dora na ho an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitro amin’ izay azoko fotsiny aho. Ka dia novidin’ i Davida sekely volafotsy dimam-polo ny famoloana sy ny omby.
The king said to Araunah, “No, but I will most certainly buy it from you for a price. I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God which cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.
25 Ary Davida nanao alitara teo ho an’ i Jehovah ka nanatitra fanatitra dorana sy fanati-pihavanana. Ka dia neken’ i Jehovah ny fifonana natao ho an’ ny tany, ka nitsahatra tsy namely ny Isiraely intsony ilay areti-mandringana.
David built an altar to the LORD there, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was entreated for the land, and the plague was removed from Israel.
