< 2 Samoela 24 >
1 Ary ny fahatezeran’ i Jehovah nirehitra indray tamin’ ny Isiraely, ka dia nanome saina an’ i Davida Izy hanao izay hahatonga loza amin’ ny vahoakany hoe: Mandehana, isao ny Isiraely sy ny Joda.
And the anger of YHWH adds to burn against Israel, and [an adversary] moves David about them, saying, “Go, number Israel and Judah.”
2 Dia hoy ny mpanjaka tamin’ i Joaba, komandin’ ny miaramila, izay teo aminy: Mandehana mitety ny firenen’ isiraely rehetra hatrany Dana ka hatrany Beri-sheba, ary alaminonareo ny vahoaka mba ho fantatro ny isany.
And the king says to Joab, head of the host that [is] with him, “Now go to and fro through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beer-Sheba, and inspect the people; then I have known the number of the people.”
3 Fa hoy Joaba amin’ ny mpanjaka: Jehovah Andriamanitrao anie hampitombo ny vahoaka ho injato toy izao, na firy na firy izy, ka ho hitan’ ny mason’ ny mpanjaka tompoko izany; fa ahoana no itiavan’ ny mpanjaka tompoko hanao izany zavatra izany?
And Joab says to the king, “Indeed, your God YHWH adds to the people, as they are, one hundred times, and the eyes of my lord the king are seeing; and my lord the king, why is he desirous of this thing?”
4 Nefa tsy azon’ i Joaba sy ny komandin’ ny miaramila nolavina ny tenin’ ny mpanjaka. Ary Joaba sy ny komandin’ ny miaramila nivoaka avy teo anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka handamina ny lehilahy amin’ ny Isiraely.
And the word of the king is severe toward Joab, and against the heads of the force, and Joab goes out, and the heads of the force, [from] before the king to inspect the people, even Israel;
5 Ary nita an’ i Jordana izy ireo ka nitoby tao Aroera eo ankavanan’ ilay tanàna afovoan’ ny lohasahan-driak’ i Gada, dia nankany Jazera.
and they pass over the Jordan, and encamp in Aroer, on the right of the city that [is] in the midst of the Brook of Gad, and to Jazer,
6 Dia tonga tany Gileada izy, tany amin’ ny tamin’ i Tatima-hodsy, dia tonga tany Danajana izy, ka nanodidina hatrany Sidona,
and they come to Gilead, and to the land of Tahtim-Hodshi, and they come to Dan-Jaan, and around to Sidon,
7 ary tonga tao Tyro, tanàna mimanda, sy tany amin’ ny tanànan’ ny Hivita sy ny Kananita rehetra, ary dia nankany amin’ ny tany atsimo izay an’ ny Joda hatrany Beri-sheba izy.
and they come to the fortress of Tyre, and all the cities of the Hivite, and of the Canaanite, and go out to the south of Judah, to Beer-Sheba.
8 Ary nony efa nitety ny tany rehetra izy, dia tonga tany Jeroselama, rehefa afaka sivy volana sy roa-polo andro.
And they go to and fro through all the land, and come in to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days,
9 Dia natolotr’ i Joaba ny mpanjaka ny isan’ ny vahoaka voalamina, ka nisy valo hetsy ny lehilahy mahery nahatan-tsabatra tamin’ ny Isiraely, ary dimy hetsy ny lehilahy tamin’ ny Joda.
and Joab gives the account of the inspection of the people to the king, and Israel is eight hundred thousand men of valor, drawing sword, and the men of Judah five hundred thousand men.
10 Ary ny eritreritr’ i Davida namely azy, rehefa voaisany ny olona. Ka dia hoy Davida tamin’ i Jehovah: Efa nanota indrindra aho tamin’ izao nataoko izao; koa ankehitriny mifona aminao aho, Jehovah ô, esory ny heloky ny mpanomponao, fa efa nanao fahadalana lehibe aho.
And the heart of David strikes him, after that he has numbered the people, and David says to YHWH, “I have greatly sinned in that which I have done, and now, O YHWH, please cause the iniquity of Your servant to pass away, for I have acted very foolishly.”
11 Ary raha nifoha maraina Davida, dia tonga tamin’ i Gada mpaminany, mpahitan’ i Davida, ny tenin’ i Jehovah nanao hoe:
And David rises in the morning, and the word of YHWH has been to Gad the prophet, seer of David, saying,
12 Mandehana, ka lazao amin’ i Davida hoe: Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah: Zavatra telo no apetrako eto anoloanao, koa fidio izay iray hataoko aminao.
“Go, and you have spoken to David, Thus said YHWH: I am lifting up three [choices] for you, choose one of them, and I do [it] to you.”
13 Ary Gada nankany amin’ i Davida dia nanambara izany taminy ka nanao hoe: Mosary fito taona va no tianao ho tonga aminao eto amin’ ny taninao? Sa handositra telo volana eo anoloan’ ny fahavalonao ianao, fa henjehiny? Sa areti-mandringana hateloana eto amin’ ny taninao? Koa saino sy hevero izay valiny ho entiko miverina any amin’ izay naniraka ahy.
And Gad comes to David, and declares [it] to him, and says to him, “Does seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or are you fleeing before your adversary [for] three months—and he is pursuing you? Or is there pestilence [for] three days in your land? Now, know and see what word I take back to Him sending me.”
14 Dia hoy Davida tamin’ i Gada: Indrisy! poritra loatra aho! aleontsika ho azon’ ny tànan’ i Jehovah, fa lehibe ny famindram-pony toy izay ho azon’ izay tànan’ olona.
And David says to Gad, “I have great distress; please let us fall into the hand of YHWH, for His mercies [are] many, but do not let me fall into the hand of man.”
15 Ka dia nasian’ i Jehovah areti-mandringana ny Isiraely nony maraina ka hatramin’ ilay fotoana; ary dia nahafatesana fito alina ny olona hatrany Dana ka hatrany Beri-sheba.
And YHWH gives a pestilence on Israel from the morning even to the time appointed, and there dies of the people, from Dan even to Beer-Sheba, seventy thousand men,
16 Ary naninjitra ny tànany tany Jerosalema Ilay Anjely handringana ny any; fa Jehovah nanenina ny amin’ ny loza ka nanao tamin’ ilay Anjely Izay nandringana ny olona hoe: Aoka izay, atsaharo ny tananao ankehitriny. Ary Ilay Anjelin’ i Jehovah dia teo amin’ ny famoloan’ i Araona Jebosita.
and the messenger puts forth his hand to Jerusalem to destroy it, and YHWH sighs concerning the calamity, and says to the messenger who is destroying among the people, “Enough, now, cease your hand”; and the messenger of YHWH was near the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
17 Ary nony hitan’ i Davida Ilay Anjely namely ny olona, dia niteny tamin’ i Jehovah izy nanao hoe: Indro, izaho no efa nanota, ary izaho no efa anao ratsy; fa ireo ondry ireo kosa, inona moa no mba nataony? Koa mifona aminao re aho, aoka ny tananao hamely ahy sy ny mpianakavin’ ny raiko.
And David speaks to YHWH when he sees the messenger who is striking among the people, and says, “Behold, I have sinned, indeed, I have done perversely; and these—the flock—what have they done? Please let Your hand be on me and on the house of my father.”
18 Ary Gada nankany amin’ i Davida tamin’ izany andro izany ka nanao taminy hoe: Miakara, ka manangàna alitara ho an’ i Jehovah ao amin’ ny famoloan’ i Araona Jebosita.
And Gad comes to David on that day and says to him, “Go up, raise an altar to YHWH in the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite”;
19 Koa dia niakatra Davida araka ny tenin’ i Gada, araka izay nandidian’ i Jehovah.
and David goes up, according to the word of Gad, as YHWH commanded.
20 Ary Araona nitsirika ka nahita ny mpanjaka sy ny mpanompony manatona azy, dia nivoaka izy ka niankohoka tamin’ ny tany teo anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka.
And Araunah looks, and sees the king and his servants passing over to him, and Araunah goes out and bows himself to the king [with] his face to the earth.
21 Ary hoy Araona: Ahoana no ahatongavan’ ny mpanjaka tompoko atỳ amin’ ny mpanompony? Dia hoy Davida: Hividy ny famoloana aminao mba hanorenako alitara ho an’ i Jehovah hitsaharan’ ny areti-mandringana tsy hamely ny olona intsony.
And Araunah says, “Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” And David says, “To buy the threshing-floor from you, to build an altar to YHWH, and the plague is restrained from the people.”
22 Fa hoy Araona tamin’ i Davida: Aoka ny mpanjaka tompoko haka izay sitrany ka hanatitra izany. Indreo ny omby ho fanatitra dorana ary ny fivelezam-bary sy ny hazo amin’ ny omby hatao kitay.
And Araunah says to David, “Let my lord the king take [it] and cause that which is good in his eyes to ascend; see, [here are] the oxen for a burnt-offering, and the threshing instruments, and the instruments of the oxen, for wood”;
23 Izany rehetra izany, ry mpanjaka, dia omen’ i Araona ny mpanjaka. Ary hoy Araona tamin’ ny mpanjaka: Jehovah Andriamanitrao anie hankasitraka anao.
Araunah has given the whole [as] a king to a king; and Araunah says to the king, “Your God YHWH accepts you.”
24 Ary hoy ny mpanjaka tamin’ i Araona: Tsia, fa hovidiko aminao mihitsy araka izay tokom-bidiny ireo; fa tsy hanatitra fanatitra dora na ho an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitro amin’ izay azoko fotsiny aho. Ka dia novidin’ i Davida sekely volafotsy dimam-polo ny famoloana sy ny omby.
And the king says to Araunah, “No, for I surely buy from you for a price, and I do not cause burnt-offerings to ascend to my God YHWH for nothing”; and David buys the threshing-floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver,
25 Ary Davida nanao alitara teo ho an’ i Jehovah ka nanatitra fanatitra dorana sy fanati-pihavanana. Ka dia neken’ i Jehovah ny fifonana natao ho an’ ny tany, ka nitsahatra tsy namely ny Isiraely intsony ilay areti-mandringana.
and David builds an altar to YHWH there, and causes burnt-offerings and peace-offerings to ascend, and YHWH accepts the plea for the land, and the plague is restrained from Israel.
