< 2 Samoela 20 >
1 Ary sendra nisy lehilahy iray tena ratsy fanahy teo, Seba no anarany, zanak’ i Bikry Benjamita; ary nitsoka ny anjomara izy sady niantso hoe: Isika tsy manana anjara amin’ i Davida na lova amin’ ny zanak’ i Jese; samia mody any amin’ ny lainy avy, ry Isiraely ô.
There happened to be there a wicked fellow, whose name was Sheba the son of Bichri, a Benjamite; and he blew the trumpet, and said, “We have no portion in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse. Every man to his tents, Israel!”
2 Ka dia samy niara-nandao an’ i Davida ny lehilahy amin’ ny Isiraely ka nanaraka an’ i Seba, zanak’ i Bikry; fa ny lehilahy amin’ ny Joda no nifikitra tamin’ ny mpanjakany hatrany Jordana ka hatrany Jerosalema.
So all the men of Israel went up from following David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri; but the men of Judah joined with their king, from the Jordan even to Jerusalem.
3 Ary nony tonga tao an-tranony tany Jerosalema Davida mpanjaka, dia nalainy ny vaditsindranony folo vavy izay navelany hiandry trano tao, ka nataony tao an-trano fiambenana ary nomeny fivelomana, fa tsy nandriany intsony. Ka dia nambenana tao mandra-pahafatiny ireo ka velona tsy nanam-bady intsony.
David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women his concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in custody and provided them with sustenance, but didn’t go in to them. So they were shut up to the day of their death, living in widowhood.
4 Ary hoy ny mpanjaka tamin’ i Amasa: Vorio ny lehilahy amin’ ny Joda ho eto amiko amin’ ny hateloana, ary aoka mba ho eto koa ny tenanao.
Then the king said to Amasa, “Call me the men of Judah together within three days, and be here present.”
5 Ary dia lasa Arnasa namory ny Joda, fa nandiso ny fotoan’ andro nomeny azy izy.
So Amasa went to call the men of Judah together, but he stayed longer than the set time which had been appointed to him.
6 Ary hoy Davida tamin’ i Abisay: Ankehitriny izao dia Seba, zanak’ i Bikry no ahitantsika loza mihoatra noho Absaloma; koa ento ny mpanomponao ny tomponao, ka enjeho izy, fandrao mahazo tanàna mimanda ka tsy ho azontsika.
David said to Abishai, “Now Sheba the son of Bichri will do us more harm than Absalom did. Take your lord’s servants and pursue after him, lest he get himself fortified cities, and escape out of our sight.”
7 Ary dia nivoaka hanenjika azy ny olon’ i Joaba sy ny miaramila mpiambina andriana ary ny lehilahy mahery rehetra; dia nivoaka avy tany Jerosalema ireo hanenjika an’ i Seba, zanak’ i Bikry.
Joab’s men went out after him with the Cherethites, the Pelethites, and all the mighty men; and they went out of Jerusalem to pursue Sheba the son of Bichri.
8 Fa nony tonga tao amin’ ilay vato lehibe tao Gibeona izy, dia avy Amasa nitsena azy; ary ny akanjo fiadian’ i Joaba, ilay niakanjoany, dia nofehezina taminy, ary teo amboniny teo am-balahany no nisy ny fehin-tsabany ambamin’ ny tranony; ary nony nandeha izy, dia latsaka ny sabatra.
When they were at the great stone which is in Gibeon, Amasa came to meet them. Joab was clothed in his apparel of war that he had put on, and on it was a sash with a sword fastened on his waist in its sheath; and as he went along it fell out.
9 Ary hoy Joaba tamin’ i Amasa: Tsara ihany va ianao, ry rahalahy? Dia noraisin’ i Joaba tamin’ ny tànany ankavanana ny somotr’ i Amasa horohany.
Joab said to Amasa, “Is it well with you, my brother?” Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.
10 Fa Amasa tsy nanahinahy ny sabatra teny an-tànan’ i Joaba, kanjo nasiany tamin’ ny kibony izy, ka dia nivaroraka tamin’ ny tany ny tsinainy, ary tsy nasiany intsony, fa matiny tamin’ izay. Ary Joaba sy Abisay rahalahiny nanenjika an’ i Seba, zanak’ i Bikry.
But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joab’s hand. So he struck him with it in the body and shed out his bowels to the ground, and didn’t strike him again; and he died. Joab and Abishai his brother pursued Sheba the son of Bichri.
11 Ary ny zatovon’ i Joaba anankiray nijanona teo anilan’ ny faty ka nanao hoe: Izay miandany amin’ i Joaba sy Davida dia aoka hanaraka an’ i Joaba.
One of Joab’s young men stood by him, and said, “He who favors Joab, and he who is for David, let him follow Joab!”
12 Ary Amasa nihosin-drà teo anaty lalambe. Ary raha hitan-dralehilahy fa nijanona ny olona rehetra, dia nafindrany niala teo amin’ ny lalambe ho any an-tsaha ny fatin’ i Amasa ka nosaronany lamba, nony hitany fa nijanona izay rehetra mandalo azy.
Amasa lay wallowing in his blood in the middle of the highway. When the man saw that all the people stood still, he carried Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a garment over him when he saw that everyone who came by him stood still.
13 Ary nony nafindrany niala teo amin’ ny lalambe izy, dia nizotra nanaraka an’ i Joaba ny olona rehetra hanenjika an’ i Seba, zanak’ i Bikry.
When he was removed out of the highway, all the people went on after Joab to pursue Sheba the son of Bichri.
14 Ary izy nandeha namaky ny firenen’ Isiraely rehetra hatrany Abela sy Beti-maka sy ny an’ ny Berita rehetra; ary nivory ireo, ka dia mba lasa nanaraka azy.
He went through all the tribes of Israel to Abel, to Beth Maacah, and all the Berites. They were gathered together, and went also after him.
15 Ary dia tonga izy ka nanao fahirano azy teo Abela sy Beti-maka, ary nanandratra tovon-tany tandrifin’ ny tanàna izy, ka teo ivelany manolotra ny manda no nitoerany; ary ny olona izay nomba an’ i Joaba dia namely nandrava ny manda.
They came and besieged him in Abel of Beth Maacah, and they cast up a mound against the city, and it stood against the rampart; and all the people who were with Joab battered the wall to throw it down.
16 Ary nisy vehivavy hendry tao an-tanàna niantso hoe: Mihainoa, mihainoa e; masìna ianareo, lazao amin’ i Joaba hoe: Mankanesa erỳ aminy, hono, ianao, fa misy holazainy aminao.
Then a wise woman cried out of the city, “Hear, hear! Please say to Joab, ‘Come near here, that I may speak with you.’”
17 Ary nony efa mby tao akaiky izy, dia hoy ravehivavy: Hianao va no Joaba? Dia hoy izy: Eny, izaho no izy. Ary hoy ravehivavy taminy: Mihainoa ny teniko mpanompovavinao. Dia hoy izy: Mihaino aho izao.
He came near to her; and the woman said, “Are you Joab?” He answered, “I am.” Then she said to him, “Hear the words of your servant.” He answered, “I’m listening.”
18 Ary hoy ravehivavy: Izao no fitenin’ ny olona taloha: Aoka hanadina ao Abela izy; koa araka izany ny nahavitany raharaha.
Then she spoke, saying, “They used to say in old times, ‘They shall surely ask counsel at Abel,’ and so they settled a matter.
19 Izaho dia isan’ ny tia fihavanana sady olona mahatoky eto amin’ ny Isiraely; fa ianao kosa mitady handrava renivohitra eto amin’ ny. Isiraely, koa ahoana no hamongoranao ny lovan’ i Jehovah?
I am among those who are peaceable and faithful in Israel. You seek to destroy a city and a mother in Israel. Why will you swallow up Yahweh’s inheritance?”
20 Ary Joaba namaly hoe: Sanatria dia sanatria amiko izay handripaka sy handringana.
Joab answered, “Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.
21 Tsy izany tsy akory; fa misy lehilahy avy amin’ ny tany havoan’ i Efraima, Seba no anarany, zanak’ i Bikry, izay efa nanainga tanana hikomy amin’ i Davida mpanjaka; koa izy ihany no atolory ahy, dia hiala amin’ ny tanàna aho. Ary hoy ravehivavy tamin’ i Joaba: Indro, ny lohany atsipy eny aminao eny ankoatry ny manda.
The matter is not so. But a man of the hill country of Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, has lifted up his hand against the king, even against David. Just deliver him, and I will depart from the city.” The woman said to Joab, “Behold, his head will be thrown to you over the wall.”
22 Dia lasa nanatona ny olona rehetra tamin’ ny fahendreny ravehivavy. Dia notapahin’ ireo ny lohan’ i Seba, zanak’ i Bikry, ka natsipiny teny amin’ i Joaba. Ary Joaba nitsoka ny anjomara, ka dia niala tamin’ ny tanàna ny olona samy ho any amin’ ny lainy avy. Ary Joaba niverina nankany Jerosalema ho any amin’ ny mpanjaka.
Then the woman went to all the people in her wisdom. They cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and threw it out to Joab. He blew the trumpet, and they were dispersed from the city, every man to his tent. Then Joab returned to Jerusalem to the king.
23 Ary Joaba no komandin’ ny miaramila rehetra tamin’ ny Isiraely; ary Benaia, zanak’ i Joiada, no mpifehy ny miaramila mpiambina andriana;
Now Joab was over all the army of Israel, Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and over the Pelethites,
24 ary Adorama no komandin’ ny mpanao fanompoana; ary Josafata, zanak’ i Ahiloda, no mpitadidy ny raharaham-panjakana;
Adoram was over the men subject to forced labor, Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was the recorder,
25 ary Seva no mpanoratra; ary Zadoka sy Abiatara no mpisorona;
Sheva was scribe, Zadok and Abiathar were priests,
26 ary Ira Jairita kosa no mpanolo-tsaina an’ i Davida.
and Ira the Jairite was chief minister to David.
