< 2 Samoela 19 >
1 Ary nambara tamin’ i Joaba hoe: Indro, mitomany sy misaona an’ i Absaloma ny mpanjaka.
Soon Joab was told, “The king is crying and mourning for Absalom.”
2 Ary ny famonjena dia tonga fisaonana tamin’ ny vahoaka rehetra androtrizay, satria ren’ ny vahoaka tamin’ izany andro izany hoe: Malahelo ny zanany ny mpanjaka.
Victory that day was turned into mourning for the whole army, because they were told, “The king is grieving for his son.”
3 Ka dia niakatra nisokosoko tao an-tanàna ny olona tamin’ izany andro izany, toy ny fisokosokon’ ny olona menatra raha mandositra amin’ ny ady.
They stole back into town that day like defeated people steal in, ashamed of running away from the battle.
4 Fa ny mpanjaka nanarona ny tavany sady nidradradradra tamin’ ny feo mafy hoe: Ry Absaloma, zanako, ry Absaloma, zanako, zanako ô!
The king held his face in his hands and sobbed loudly, “My son Absalom! Absalom, my son, my son!”
5 Ary niditra tao amin’ ny mpanjaka tao an-trano Joaba ka nanao hoe: Efa nomenarinao androany ny mpanomponao rehetra izay namonjy ny ainao androany sy ny ain’ ny zanakao-lahy sy ny zanakao-vavy ary ny ain’ ny vadinao sy ny vaditsindranonao;
Then Joab went inside and told the king, “Today you have humiliated all your men who have saved your life, and the lives of your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your concubines.
6 fa ny mankahala anao no tianao, ary ny tia anao kosa no halanao, ka nasehonao androany fa tsinontsinona aminao ny manamboninahitra sy ny miaramila; ary hitako izao fa raha velona Absaloma, ka izahay rehetra no maty androany, dia izany no sitrakao.
You did this by loving those who hate you and hating those who love you. Today you have made it plain that the commanders and the men don't mean anything to you. Today I'm sure that you'd be quite happy if Absalom was alive and all of us were dead!
7 Koa mitsangàna ankehitriny, ka mivoaha, ary manaova teny soa amin’ ny mpanomponao; fa mianiana amin’ i Jehovah aho fa raha tsy mivoaka ianao, dia tsy hisy na dia iray akory aza hitoetra eto aminao anio alina; ka dia izany no ho mafy lavitra aminao noho ny fahoriana rehetra izay nanjo anao hatry ny fony ianao vao zaza ka ambaraka ankehitriny.
So get up, go out, and thank your men. I swear by the Lord that if you don't, you won't have a man left by tonight. That will be far worse for you than all the disasters you've had from your youth until now.”
8 Dia nivoaka ny mpanjaka ka nijanona teo am-bavahady; ary nolazaina tamin’ ny vahoaka rehetra hoe: Indro, ny mpanjaka mijanona eo am-bavahady. Ary ny vahoaka rehetra dia nankeo anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka. Ary ny Isiraely dia samy efa lasa nandositra ho any amin’ ny lainy avy.
So the king got up and went to sit at the town gate. Everybody was told: “Look, the king is sitting at the town gate.” They all came to see the king. In the meantime the Israelites had run away and gone to their homes.
9 Ary ny vahoaka rehetra tamin’ ny firenen’ Isiraely nifanditra hoe: Ny mpanjaka no namonjy antsika tamin’ ny tanan’ ny fahavalontsika, indrindra fa tamin’ ny tanan’ ny Filistina; nefa ankehitriny dia efa nandositra niala tamin’ ny tany izy noho ny amin’ i Absaloma.
Everyone among the tribes of Israel were arguing with each other, saying, “The king rescued us from the persecution of our enemies, he saved us from the Philistines, but now he's had to run from the country because of Absalom.
10 Ary Absaloma, izay nohosorantsika hanjaka amintsika, dia efa maty tamin’ ny ady. Koa nahoana ianareo no tsy miteny akory ny amin’ ny hampodiana ny mpanjaka?
Now Absalom, the man we chose to be our king by anointing him, he's died in battle. Why don't we do something and invite King David to come back?”
11 Ary Davida mpanjaka naniraka tany amin’ i Zadoka sy Abiatara mpisorona ka nanao hoe: Ataovy amin’ ny loholon’ ny Joda hoe: Nahoana no dia ianareo indray no ho farany amin’ ny fampodiana ny mpanjaka ho any an-tranony? fa ny tenin’ ny Isiraely rehetra efa tonga tao amin’ ny mpanjaka tao an-tranony
King David sent this message to Zadok and Abiathar, the priests: “Tell the elders of Judah, ‘Are you going to be the last people to bring the king back to his palace, since the king has heard that all of Israel wants it?
12 rahalahiko ianareo, ary taolako sy nofoko ianareo; koa nahoana no dia ianareo Indray no ho farany amin’ ny fampodiana ny mpanjaka?
You are my brothers, my own flesh and blood. Why should you be the last ones to want to bring the king back?’
13 Ary ataovy amin’ i Amasa koa hoe: Tsy taolako sy nofoko va ianao? Hataon’ Andriamanitra amiko anie izany, eny, mihoatra noho izany aza, raha tsy komandin’ ny miaramila eo anatrehako mandrakariva ho solon’ i Joaba ianao.
Tell Amasa, ‘Aren't you my flesh and blood too? May God punish me very severely if from now on you're not the commander of my army instead of Joab!’”
14 Ary dia nampitodika ny fon’ ny lehilahy rehetra amin’ ny Joda ho toy ny olona iray izy; ka dia naniraka tany amin’ ny mpanjaka izy ka nanao hoe: Modia ianao sy ny mpanomponao rehetra.
Amasa convinced all the people of Judah to unitedly support David, so they sent a message to the king: “Please come back, you and everyone with you.”
15 Ary dia nody ny mpanjaka ka tonga tao Jordana; ary ny Joda tonga tao Gilgala hitsena ny mpanjaka hitondra azy hita an’ i Jordana.
The king began his journey back, and when he arrived at the Jordan, the men of Judah met him at Gilgal to help him cross the river.
16 Ary Simey, zanak’ i Gera, Benjamita avy any Bahorina, dia nidodododo nidina araka tamin’ ny lehilahy amin’ ny Joda tsena an’ i Davida mpanjaka.
Shimei, son of Gera, the Benjamite from Bahurim, hurried down with the men of Judah to meet King David.
17 Ary nisy benjamita arivo lahy koa nanaraka azy, ary Ziba, mpanompon’ ny taranak’ i Saoly, mbamin’ ny zananilahy dimy ambin’ ny folo sy mpanompony roa-polo lahy izay nanaraka azy; ary dia nita an’ i Jordana teo alohan’ ny mpanjaka izy ireo.
With him were one thousand men from the tribe of Benjamin, including Ziba, servant of Saul's family, as well as Ziba's fifteen sons and twenty servants. They rushed down to the Jordan to meet the king.
18 Ary navoivoy teo ny lakana hampitana ny ankohonan’ ny mpanjaka sy hanaovany izay sitrany. Ary nony efa hita an’ i Jordana ny mpanjaka, dia indro Simey, zanak’ i Gera, niankohoka teo anatrehany.
They crossed at the ford to bring the king's household over and whatever else he wanted. Shimei crossed the Jordan and fell facedown before the king.
19 Ary hoy izy tamin’ ny mpanjaka: Aoka tsy hisain’ ny tompoko heloka aho, ary aoka tsy hotsarovanao ny ratsy nataon’ ny mpanomponao tamin’ ny andro nivoahan’ ny mpanjaka tompoko niala tany Jerosalema, ary aoka tsy ho eritreretin’ ny mpanjaka izany;
“Your Majesty, please forgive me and disregard the wrong that I, your servant, did when Your Majesty left Jerusalem. Please forget all about it.
20 fa fantatro, izaho mpanomponao, fa nanota aho; ka he! izaho no avy voalohany androany amin’ ny taranak’ i Josefa rehetra ka nidina hitsena ny mpanjaka tompoko.
I, your servant, recognize that I have sinned. But look! Today I'm the first from any of the tribes of Joseph to come down and meet Your Majesty.”
21 Fa namaly Abisay, zanak’ i Zeroia, ka nanao hoe: Tsy hovonoina va Simey noho izany, satria efa nanozona ny voahosotr’ i Jehovah izy?
Abishai, son of Zeruiah, said, “Shouldn't Shimei be executed for this, because he cursed the Lord's anointed one?”
22 Dia hoy Davida: Moa mifaninona akory izaho sy ianareo, ry zanak’ i Zeroia, no tonga mpanohitra ahy ianareo anio? Tokony hisy olona hatao maty va eto amin’ ny Isiraely izao? Fa moa tsy fantatra va fa izaho no mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely anio?
But David replied, “What's that got do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? Do you want to be my enemies today? Is this a day to execute anybody in Israel? Aren't I certain that today I'm the king of Israel once more?”
23 Ary dia hoy ny mpanjaka tamin’ i simey: Tsy ho faty ianao. Ary ny mpanjaka dia nianiana taminy.
David turned to Shimei and swore an oath to him, “You're not going to die.”
24 Ary Mefiboseta, zanakalahin’ i Saoly, nidina hitsena ny mpanjaka, ary tsy nanasa tongotra na namboatra volom-bava na nanasa lamba izy hatramin’ ny andro nialan’ ny mpanjaka ka hatramin’ ny andro nahatongavany soa aman-tsara.
Then Mephibosheth, Saul's grandson, went to meet the king. He had refused to look after his feet or trim his mustache or have his clothes washed from the day the king left until the day of his peaceful return.
25 Ary nony efa tonga hitsena ny mpanjaka ny avy any Jerosalema, dia hoy ny mpanjaka taminy: Nahoana no tsy mba nandeha niaraka tamiko ianao, ry Mefiboseta?
When he arrived from Jerusalem to meet the king, the king asked him, “Why didn't you come with me, Mephibosheth?”
26 Fa hoy izy: Ry mpanjaka tompoko, nofitahin’ ny mpanompoko aho: Hanisy lasely ny boriky aho hitaingenako ka hankany amin’ ny mpanjaka; fa malemy tongotra ny mpanomponao.
Mephibosheth answered, “Your Majesty, my servant Ziba tricked me. I told him, ‘Saddle up my donkey so I can ride her and leave with the king,’ because you know that I'm lame.
27 Nefa nendrikendrehiny tamin’ ny mpanjaka tompoko izaho mpanomponao; fa ny mpanjaka tompoko dia hoy Ilay Anjelin’ Andriamanitra; koa ataovy izay sitrakao.
Ziba has misrepresented me, your servant, to Your Majesty. However, Your Majesty is like an angel of God, so do what you think best.
28 Fa ny taranaky ny raiko rehetra dia samy olona tokony ho faty teo anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka tompoko; nefa ianao nampitoetra ahy mpanomponao ho isan’ izay mihinana amin’ ny latabatrao. Koa inona intsony no rariny ho ahy, ary inona no mbola hitarainako amin’ ny mpanjaka?
All my grandfather's family could only expect death from Your Majesty, but you included me, your servant, among those who eat at your table. So what right do I have to ask the king for anything more?”
29 Ary hoy ny mpanjaka taminy: Nahoana no lazainao indray ny raharahanao? Nefa izaho efa nilaza hoe: Hianao sy Ziba no hizara ny tany.
“Why talk any more about these issues of yours?” David responded. “I've decided that you and Ziba should divide the land.”
30 Ary hoy Mefiboseta tamin’ ny mpanjaka: Aoka dia ho azy avokoa izy rehetra, fa ianao mpanjaka tompoko efa tonga soa aman-tsara ao amin’ ny tranonao indray.
Mephibosheth replied to the king, “Let him have it all! I'm just happy that Your Majesty has returned home in peace.”
31 Ary Barzilay Gileadita nidina avy tany Rogelima, dia niara-nita an’ i Jordana tamin’ ny mpanjaka izy mba hanatitra azy hita an’ i Jordana.
Barzillai the Gileadite had also came down from Rogelim to help the king cross the Jordan and to make his way onwards from there.
32 Ary Barzilay dia lehilahy antitra, efa valo-polo taona; ary izy efa nanome hanina ny mpanjaka, raha nitoetra tany Mahanaima izy; fa mpanjatobe indrindra izy.
Barzillai was very old, eighty years of age, and because he was a very wealthy man, he had provided the king with food while he was staying in Mahanaim.
33 Ary hoy ny mpanjaka tamin’ i Barzilay: Andeha hiara-mita amiko ianao hovelomiko any amiko any Jerosalema.
The king said to Barzillai, “Cross the Jordan with me, and I will provide for you while you stay with me in Jerusalem.”
34 Fa hoy Barzilay tamin’ ny mpanjaka: Hoatrinona intsony moa no andro hahavelomako, no hiara-miakatra amin’ ny mpanjaka hankany Jerosalema aho?
“How much longer do you think I have to live so I could go to Jerusalem and stay there with the king?” Barzillai replied.
35 Valo-polo taona izay ny andro nahavelomako, ka mahalala izay soa sy ratsy intsony va aho? Mahatsiaro ny tsiron-javatra haniko sy sotroiko intsony va aho mpanomponao? Mahare izay feon’ ny mpihiralahy sy ny mpihiravavy intsony va aho? Koa nahoana ny mpanomponao no mbola ho enta-mavesatra amin’ ny mpanjaka tompoko?
“I'm already eighty. I don't enjoy anything anymore. I can't taste what I eat or drink. I can't hear when people sing. There's no point for me, your servant, to be another burden to Your Majesty!
36 Kely foana no handehanan’ ny mpanomponao eo an-dafin’ i Jordana hiaraka amin’ ny mpanjaka; koa nahoana ny mpanjaka no dia hamaly fitia ahy loatra toy izany?
For your servant to cross the Jordan River with the king is enough reward for me!
37 Trarantitra ianao, aoka aho mpanomponao hody ihany ka ho fety any amin’ ny vohitro ao akaikin’ ny fasan’ ikaky sy ineny. Fa indro Kimama mpanomponao; aoka izy no hiaraka amin’ ny mpanjaka tompoko, ary ataovy aminy izay sitrakao.
Then let your servant go back home, that I may die in my home town near the tomb of my father and mother. But here is your servant, my son Chimham. Let him cross over with Your Majesty, and treat him as you think best.”
38 Dia hoy ny mpanjaka: Handeha hiaraka amiko tokoa Kimama, ka hataoko aminy izay sitrakao, ary izay angatahinao dia hataoko ho anao.
The king replied, “Chimham will cross over with me, and I will treat him as you think best, and I will do for you whatever you want.”
39 Ary ny vahoaka rehetra nita an’ i Jordana. Ary nony tafita ny mpanjaka, dia norohan’ ny mpanjaka Barzilay sady notsofiny rano, ary dia lasa nody ho any amin’ ny fonenany izy.
So everybody crossed the Jordan first, and then the king crossed over. The king kissed Barzillai and blessed him, and then Barzillai went back home.
40 Dia nandroso nankany Gilgala mpanjaka, ary Kimama niaraka taminy; ny lehilahy rehetra amin’ ny Joda sy ny antsasaky ny lehilahy amin’ ny Isiraely koa nanatitra ny mpanjaka.
Then the king carried on to Gilgal, and Chimham went with him. The whole army of Judah and half the army of Israel accompanied the king.
41 Ary, indreo, ny lehilahy rehetra amin’ Isiraely nankao amin’ ny mpanjaka ka nanao taminy hoe: Nahoana ny lehilahy amin’ ny Joda, rahalahinay, no nangalatra anao ka nitondra ny mpanjaka sy ny ankohonany ary ny olon’ i Davida rehetra teny aminy hita an’ i Jordana?
But soon the men of Israel who were there came to the king and asked him, “Why did our brothers, the men of Judah, secretly take Your Majesty away and bring you and your household across the Jordan, together with all your men?”
42 Ary ny lehilahy rehetra amin’ ny Joda dia namaly ny lehilahy amin’ ny Isiraely hoe: Satria havanay akaiky ny mpanjaka; ka ahoana no mahatezitra anareo amin’ izany? Nadany ny mpanjaka va izahay? Na nanome zavatra anay akory va izy?
The men of Judah explained to the men of Israel, “We did this because the king is one of our relatives. Why are you getting upset about this? When did we ever eat the king's food? When did we ever get anything for yourselves?”
43 Ary ny lehilahy amin’ ny Isiraely kosa namaly ny lehilahy amin’ ny Joda hoe: Izahay manana anjaram-polo amin’ ny mpanjaka; eny, izahay manana an’ i Davida mihoatra noho ianareo; koa ahoana ianareo no nanao tsinontsinona anay? Tsy izahay va no niteny talohanareo nampody ny mpanjakanay? Ary ny tenin’ ny lehilahy amin’ ny Joda dia lozaloza kokoa noho ny tenin’ ny lehilahy amin’ ny Isiraely.
“We've got ten shares in the king,” the men of Israel replied, “so we have a greater claim on David than you do. So why do you look down us? Weren't we the first ones to talk about bringing back our king?” But the men of Judah argued even more strongly than the men of Israel.
