< 2 Mpanjaka 7 >
1 Fa hoy kosa Elisa: Mihainoa ny tenin’ i Jehovah ianareo: Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah: Rahampitso toy izao dia ho sekely iray ny vidin’ ny koba tsara toto eran’ ny famarana, ary ho sekely iray koa ny vidin’ ny vary hordea indroan’ ny famarana ao am-bavahadin’ i Samaria.
Elisha replied, “Listen to the message from the Lord. This is what the Lord says: Around this time tomorrow a seah of the best flour will sell for a shekel, and two seahs of barley will sell for a shekel at the gate of Samaria.”
2 Fa namaly ny lehilahin’ Andriamanitra ilay mpanafika malaza izay nitehenan’ ny mpanjaka tamin’ ny tànany ka nanao hoe: Indro, na dia hanao varavarankely amin’ ny lanitra aza Jehovah, dia hisy izany zavatra izany va? Ary hoy Elisa: Indro, ho hitan’ ny masonao indrindra izany, nefa tsy mba hihinananao.
The officer who was the king's assistant said to the man of God, “Look, even if the Lord opened windows in heaven what you say couldn't happen!” Elisha replied, “You'll see it with your own eyes, but you won't get to eat any of it.”
3 Ary nisy boka efa-dahy teo anoloan’ ny vavahady nifampiresaka hoe: Ahoana no ipetrahantsika foana eto mandra-pahafatintsika?
There happened to be four men with leprosy at the entrance of the city gate. They said to each other, “Why are we sitting around here until we die?
4 Raha hoy isika: Hankato an-tanàna isika, dia misy mosary ao an-tanàna, ka ho faty ao isika; ary raha hipetraka eto isika, dia ho faty ihany koa. Koa andeha isika hankany amin-ny tobin’ ny Syriana; ka raha mamelona antsika moa izy, dia ho velona isika; fa raha mamono antsika kosa izy, dia ho faty ihany isika.
If we say, ‘Let's go into the city,’ we'll die because of the famine there; but if we go on sitting here, we'll die too. So come on, let's go to the camp of the Arameans and surrender to them. If they let us live, we'll live; if they kill us, we'll die.”
5 Dia niainga izy rehefa takariva hankany amin’ ny tobin’ ny Syriana; ary nony tonga teny an-tsisin’ ny toby izy, indro, tsy nisy olona akory tao.
So they set off when it was getting dark and went to the camp of the Arameans. But when they arrived at the edge of the camp, nobody was there!
6 Fa Jehovah efa nampandre ny miaramilan’ ny Syriana ny fikodiadian-kalesy sy ny fandehan’ ny soavaly, dia ny firodondrodon’ ny miaramila be; ary niresaka hoe izy: Injao, fa ny mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely efa nanamby ny mpanjakan’ ny Hetita sy ny mpanjakan’ ny Egyptiana hiady amintsika.
For the Lord had made the Arameans hear the sound of chariots, horses, and a large army approaching, so they said to each other, “The king of Israel has hired the kings of the Hittites and Egyptians to come and attack us.”
7 Dia niainga izy ka riatra nandositra tamin’ iny takariva iny ihany, ary nilaozany fotsiny ny tobiny, dia ny lainy sy ny soavaliny ary ny borikiny, ka lasa nandositra hamonjy ny ainy izy.
So they jumped up and ran away into the night, leaving behind their tents, their horses, and their donkeys. In fact the camp was left just as it was when they ran for their lives.
8 Ary rehefa tonga teny an-tsisin’ ny toby ireo boka ireo, dia niditra tao amin’ ny lay anankiray Izy ka nihinana sy nisotro, dia naka volafotsy sy volamena ary fitafiana, dia nandeha ka nanafina izany; ary nandeha indray izy ka niditra tao amin’ ny lay anankiray koa sady naka avy tao, dia nandeha ka nanafina izany koa.
When the lepers got to the edge of the camp, they went into a tent and ate and drank. Then they took the silver, gold, and clothes, and hid them. After that they went back to another tent, took some things from there, and hid them.
9 Dia nifampilaza hoe izy: Tsy mety izao ataontsika izao; ity andro ity dia andro filazana ny mahafaly, nefa mangìna isika; raha hitoetra eto mandra-pahamarain’ ny andro isika, dia hanan-keloka; fa andeha isika hilaza ao an-tranon’ ny mpanjaka.
Then they said to each other, “It's not right what we're doing. This is a day of good news, and if we keep quiet about it and wait until it gets light, we're sure to be punished. So let's go right away and let them know at the king's palace.”
10 Dia avy izy ka niantso ny mpiambina ny vavahadin-tanàna ary nilaza taminy hoe: Tonga tany an-tobin’ ny Syriana izahay, ary indro fa tsy misy olona ao, na feon’ olona akory aza, fa soavaly mifatotra sy boriky mifatotra, ary ny lay nilaozana fotsiny.
They went and called to the gatekeepers of the city, “We went over to the Aramean camp and no one was there, not a sound of anybody! There were just horses and donkeys tied up, and the tents just as they were.”
11 Ary niantso ny mpiambina ny vavahady izy, ary ireo kosa nilaza izany tao an-tranon’ ny mpanjaka.
The gatekeepers shouted out the news, and reports reached the royal palace.
12 Ary ny mpanjaka nifoha raha mbola alina ka niteny tamin’ ny mpanompony hoe: Aoka hambarako aminareo ange izao ataon’ ny Syriana amintsika izao e! Fantany fa mosarena isika, ka dia niala tamin’ ny toby izy mba hanotrika any an-tsaha ka nanao hoe: Raha mivoaka avy any an-tanàna izy dia hataontsika sambo-belona, ary dia hidirantsika ny tanàna.
The king got up in the night and said to his officers, “Let me tell you the trick the Arameans are trying to play on us. They know we're starving, so they have left the camp and hidden in the field, thinking, ‘When they leave the city, we'll take them alive and be able to enter the city.’”
13 Ary ny mpanompony anankiray namaly hoe: Mifona aminao aho, aoka hangalana soavaly dimy amin’ izay sisa ato an-tanàna (indro toy ny hamaroan’ ny Isiraely rehetra izay mitoetra ato ireo; eny, tahaka ny hamaroan’ ny Isiraely rehetra izay efa lany ritra ireo) ka haniraka hizaha izany.
One of his officers suggested, “Have some men take five of the remaining horses in the city. What happens to them will be the same as that of all the Israelites left here, All the Israelites here are doomed. Let's send them to find out what's going on.”
14 Dia nalainy ny soavalin’ ny kalesy roa; ary ny mpanjaka naniraka hanaraka ny miaramilan’ ny Syriana ka nanao hoe: Mandehana, ka izahao.
So they got two chariots ready with their horses, and the king sent them out to the Aramean camp, telling them “Go and take a look.”
15 Dia nandeha nanaraka azy hatrany Jordana ireo; ary, indreny, ny lalambe rehetra feno fitafiana sy fanaka izay efa narian’ ny Syriana, raha nandositra tamin’ ny fahatairana izy. Ary ny iraka niverina ka nilaza tamin’ ny mpanjaka.
They went after them as far as the Jordan, and the whole way was full of clothing and equipment the Arameans had thrown aside as they ran away. The messengers returned and reported to the king.
16 Dia nivoaka ny olona ka namabo ny tobin’ ny Syriana. Koa ny koba tsara toto eran’ ny famarana, dia sekely iray monja no vidiny, ary ny vary hordea indroan’ ny famarana, dia sekely iray ihany koa ny vidiny, araka ny tenin’ i Jehovah.
Then the people went out and looted the camp of the Arameans. So a seah of the best flour sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley sold for a shekel, just as the Lord had predicted.
17 Ary ilay mpanafika malaza izay nitehenan’ ny mpanjaka tamin’ ny tànany dia notendreny hiambina ny vavahady; ary voahitsaka teo am-bavahady izy, ka dia maty araka izay nolazain’ ny lehilahin’ Andriamanitra, dia ilay nolazainy, raha nidina tany aminy ny mpanjaka.
The king had put the officer who was his assistant in charge of the gate. In their rush the people trampled him in the gateway and he died, just as the man of God had said when the king visited him.
18 Koa dia tanteraka ilay teny nolazain’ ny lehilahin’ Andriamanitra tamin’ ny mpanjaka hoe: Raha, maraina toy izao ao am-bavahadin’ i Samaria dia sekely iray monja no ho vidin’ ny vary hordea indroan’ ny famarana, ary ho sekely iray ihany koa ny vidin’ ny koba tsara toto eran’ ny famarana;
What the man of God had told the king also came true when he said, “Around this time tomorrow a seah of the best flour will sell for a shekel, and two seahs of barley will sell for a shekel at the gate of Samaria.”
19 ka izany mpanafika malaza izany no namaly ilay lehilahin’ Andriamanitra hoe: Indro, na dia hanao varavarankely amin’ ny lanitra aza Jehovah, dia hisy izany zavatra izany va? Fa hoy Elisa: Indro, ho hitan’ ny masonao indrindra izany, fa tsy mba hihinananao.
Also the officer who was the king's assistant had said to the man of God, “Look, even if the Lord opened windows in heaven what you say couldn't happen!” Elisha had replied, “You'll see it with your own eyes, but you won't get to eat any of it.”
20 Ary dia toy izany no nanjo azy, fa ny olona nanitsaka azy teo am-bavahady, ka dia maty izy.
This is what happened to him. The people trampled him in the gateway and he died.
