2 Mpanjaka 25
1 Ary tamin’ ny andro fahafolo tamin’ ny volana fahafolo tamin’ ny taona fahasivy nanjakan’ i Zedekia dia tonga Nebokadnezara, mpanjakan’ i Babylona, sy ny miaramilany rehetra hamely an’ i Jerosalema indray ka nitoby tandrifiny; ary nanao tilikambo manodidina azy izy.
Now in the ninth year of his rule, on the tenth day of the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came against Jerusalem with all his army and took up his position before it, building earthworks all round the town.
2 Ary nataony fahirano ny tanàna hatramin’ ny taona fahiraika ambin’ ny folo nanjakan’ i Zedekia mpanjaka.
And the town was shut in by their forces till the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.
3 Ary tamin’ ny andro fahasivy tamin’ ny volana fahefatra dia mafy ny mosary tao an-tanàna, fa tsy nisy hanina ho an’ ny olona tompon-tany.
Now on the ninth day of the fourth month, the store of food in the town was almost gone, so that there was no food for the people of the land.
4 Ary nisy voabanga ny tanana, dia nandositra alina ny miaramila rehetra tamin’ ny lalana nankamin’ ny vavahady tanelanelan’ ny manda roa, izay eo anilan’ ny sahan’ ny mpanjaka (fa ny Kaldeana nanodidina ny tanàna), ary ny mpanjaka nandeha tamin’ ny lalana mankeny amin’ ny tani-hay.
So an opening was made in the wall of the town, and all the men of war went in flight by night through the doorway between the two walls which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldaeans were stationed round the town: ) and the king went by the way of the Arabah.
5 Ary ny miaramilan’ ny Kaldeana nanenjika ny mpanjaka ka nahatratra azy teny amin’ ny tani-hay any Jeriko; dia nipariaka nandao azy ny miaramilany rehetra.
But the Chaldaean army went after the king, and overtook him in the lowlands of Jericho, and all his army went in flight from him in every direction.
6 Ary voasambotra ny mpanjaka ka nentina niakatra ho any amin’ ny mpanjakan’ i Babylona tao Ribla, ka dia notsaraina tao izy.
And they made the king a prisoner and took him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah to be judged.
7 Ary ny zanakalahin’ i Zedekia dia novonoiny teo imason-drainy, ary ny mason’ i Zedekia kosa nopotsiriny, dia nafatony tamin’ ny gadra varahina izy ka nentiny nankany Babylona.
And they put the sons of Zedekiah to death before his eyes, and then they put out his eyes, and chaining him with iron bands, took him to Babylon.
8 Ary tamin’ ny andro fahafito tamin’ ny volana fahadimy tamin’ ny taona fahasivy ambin’ ny folo nanjakan’ i Nebokadnezara, mpanjakan’ i Babylona dia tonga tany Jerosalema Nebozaradana, lehiben’ ny mpiambina, mpanompon’ ny mpanjakan’ i Babylona,
Now in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, in the nineteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem;
9 ka nandoro ny tranon’ i Jehovah sy ny tranon’ ny mpanjaka mbamin’ ny trano rehetra tany Jerosalema: ny trano lehibe rehetra dia nodorany tamin’ ny afo avokoa.
And he had the house of the Lord and the king's house and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house, burned with fire;
10 Ary ny manda manodidina an’ i Jerosalema dia noravan’ ny miaramilan’ ny Kaldeana rehetra, izay nanaraka ny lehiben’ ny mpiambina.
And the walls round Jerusalem were broken down by the Chaldaean army which was with the captain.
11 Ary izay olona sisa tao an-tanana sy izay efa nandositra nanatona ny mpanjakan’ i Babylona ary ny vahoaka betsaka sisa dia nentin’ i Neborazadana, lehiben’ ny mpiambina, ho babo avokoa.
And the rest of the people who were still in the town, and all those who had given themselves up to the king of Babylon, and all the rest of the workmen, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, took away as prisoners;
12 Nefa ny olona malahelo dia nisy navelany ihany ho mpamboatra tanim-boaloboka sy ho mpiasa tany.
But he let the poorest of the land go on living there, to take care of the vines and the fields.
13 Ary ireo andry varahina teo an-tranon’ i Jehovah sy ny fitoeran-tavin-drano sy ny tavin-drano varahina lehibe izay teo an-tranon’ i Jehovah dia notorotoroin’ ny Kaldeana, ka nentiny ho any Babylona ny varahina.
And the brass pillars in the house of the Lord, and the wheeled bases, and the great brass water-vessel in the house of the Lord, were broken up by the Chaldaeans, who took the brass to Babylon.
14 Ary nentiny koa ny vilany fandraofan-davenona sy ny sotron’ afo sy ny antsy sy ny lovia kely ary ny fanaka varahina rehetra izay nenti-nanao fanompoam-pivavahana.
And the pots and the spades and the scissors for the lights and the spoons, and all the brass vessels used in the Lord's house, they took away.
15 Ary nentiny koa ny fitoeran-davenon-jiro sy ny lovia famafazana na ny volamena na ny volafotsy dia samy nentiny avokoa
And the fire-trays and the basins; the gold of the gold vessels and the silver of the silver vessels, were all taken away by the captain of the armed men.
16 ary ny andry roa sy ny tavin-drano lehibe iray ary ireo fitoeran-tavin-drano, izay nataon’ i Solomona ho amin’ ny tranon’ i Jehovah; ny varahina tamin’ izany fanaka rehetra izany dia tsy hita lanja.
The two pillars, the great water-vessel and the wheeled bases, which Solomon had made for the house of the Lord: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.
17 Valo ambin’ ny folo hakiho ny hahavon’ ny andry iray, ary varahina ny kapitaliny sady telo hakiho ny hahavony; ary varahina avokoa ny harato sy ny ampongabendanitra amin’ ny kapitaliny manodidina; ary tahaka izany koa ny andry faharoa mbamin’ ny harato.
One of the pillars was eighteen cubits high, with a crown of brass on it; the crown was three cubits high, circled with a network and apples all of brass; and the second pillar had the same.
18 Ary ny lehiben’ ny mpiambina nisambotra an’ i Seraia mpisoronabe sy zefania, mpisorona manarakaraka, ary mpiandry varavarana koa telo lahy;
And the captain of the armed men took Seraiah, the chief priest, and Zephaniah, the second priest, and the three door-keepers;
19 ary tao an-tanàna no nisamborany ny tandapa anankiray, mpifehy ny miaramila, ary dimy lahy tamin’ izay mpitoetra teo anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka, izay hita tao an-tanàna, ary ny mpanoratry ny komandin’ ny miaramila, izay mpandamina ny ho miaramila, sy ny olona tompon-tany enim-polo lahy, izay hitany tao an-tanàna;
And from the town he took the unsexed servant who was over the men of war, and five of the king's near friends who were in the town, and the scribe of the captain of the army, who was responsible for getting the people of the land together in military order, and sixty men of the people of the land who were in the town.
20 dia nosamborin’ i Nebozaradana, lehiben’ ny mpiambina, ireo ka nentiny ho any amin’ ny mpanjakan’ i Babylona tao Ribla.
These Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, took with him to the king of Babylon at Riblah.
21 Dia novonoin’ ny mpanjakan’ i Babylona tao Ribla any amin’ ny tany Hamata ireo. Toy izany no nitondrana ny Joda ho babo niala tamin’ ny taniny.
And the king of Babylon put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was taken away prisoner from his land.
22 Fa ny amin’ ny olona izay sisa tany amin’ ny tanin’ ny Joda, izay navelan’ i Nebokadnezara, mpanjakan’ i Babylona, dia Gedalia, zanak’ i Ahikama, zanak’ i Safana, no notendreny ho mpanapaka azy.
As for the people who were still living in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, did not take away, he made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler over them.
23 Ary nony ren’ ny komandin’ ny miaramila rehetra mbamin’ ny olom-peheziny avy fa Gedalia no notendren’ i Nebokadnezara, mpanjakan’ i Babylona, ho mpanapaka, dia nankany amin’ i Gedalia tany Mizpa Isimaela, zanak’ i Netania, sy Johanana, zanak’ i Karea, sy Seraia, zanak’ i Tanometa Netofatita, ary Jazania, zanak’ ilay Makatita, dia ireo sy ny olom-peheziny avy.
Now the captains of the armed forces, hearing that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah ruler, came with their men to Gedaliah at Mizpah; Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah, the son of the Maacathite, came with all their men.
24 Ary Gedalia nianiana taminy sy tamin’ ny olom-peheziny ka nanao hoe: Aza matahotra ny amin’ ny mpanompon’ ny Kaldeana, fa mitomoera amin’ ny tany, ary manompoa ny mpanjakan’ i Babylona, fa izany no hahasoa anareo.
Then Gedaliah gave his oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear because of the servants of the Chaldaeans; go on living in the land under the rule of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.
25 Ary tamin’ ny volana fahafito, dia avy Isimaela, zanak’ i Netania, zanak’ i Elisama, isan’ ny fianakavian’ ny mpanjaka, mbamin’ ny olona folo lahy koa ka namely an’ i Gedalia, dia nahafaty azy sy ny Jiosy ary ny Kaldeana izay tao aminy tany Mizpa.
But in the seventh month, Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the king's seed, came with ten men and made an attack on Gedaliah, causing his death and the death of the Jews and the Chaldaeans who were with him at Mizpah.
26 Ary niainga ny olona rehetra, na kely na lehibe, mbamin’ ny komandin’ ny miaramila, nankany Egypta, fa natahotra ny Kaldeana izy.
Then all the people, small and great, and the captains of the forces, got up and went away to Egypt, for fear of the Chaldaeans.
27 Ary tamin’ ny andro fahafito amby roa-polo tamin’ ny volana faharoa ambin’ ny folo tamin’ ny taona fahafito amby telo-polo taorian’ ny namaboana an’ i Joiakina, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, tamin’ ny taona vao nanjakan’ i Evila-merodaka, mpanjakan’ i Babylona, dia nasandrany hiala tao an-trano-maizina Joiakina, mpanjakan’ ny Joda.
And in the thirty-seventh year after Jehoiachin, king of Judah, had been taken prisoner, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, Evil-merodach, king of Babylon, in the first year of his rule, took Jehoiachin, king of Judah, out of prison;
28 Dia nitenenany soa izy, ka ny seza fiandrianany nataony ambony noho ny seza fiandrianan’ ireo mpanjaka namany tao Babylona.
And said kind words to him, and put his seat higher than the seats of the other kings who were with him in Babylon.
29 Ka dia novan’ i Joiakina ny fitafiany fony mbola tao an-trano-maizina; ary nihinan-kanina teo anatrehany mandrakariva izy tamin’ ny andro niainany rehetra.
And his prison clothing was changed, and he was a guest at the king's table every day for the rest of his life.
30 Ary ny hanina nohaniny dia hanina nomena avy amin’ ny mpanjaka araka ny tokony ho anjarany isan’ andro isan’ andro tamin’ ny andro rehetra niainany.
And for his food, the king gave him a regular amount every day for the rest of his life.
