< 2 Mpanjaka 14 >

1 Tamin’ ny taona faharoa nanjakan’ i Joasy, zanak’ i Joahaza, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, no vao nanjakan’ i Amazia, zanak’ i Joasy, mpanjakan’ ny Joda.
In the second year of Joash son of Joahaz king of Israel, Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah began to reign.
2 Dimy amby roa-polo taona izy, fony vao nanjaka, ary sivy amby roa-polo taona no nanjakany tany Jerosalema. Ary ny anaran-dreniny dia Joadana, avy any Jerosalema.
He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddin of Jerusalem.
3 Ary nanao izay mahitsy eo imason’ i Jehovah izy, nefa tsy dia tahaka an’ i Davida rainy; fa tahaka izay rehetra nataon’ i Joasy rainy ihany no nataony.
And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, yet not like David his father. He did according to all that Joash his father had done.
4 Kanefa ny fitoerana avo tsy mba noravana; fa mbola namono zavatra hatao fanatitra sady nandoro ditin-kazo manitra teny amin’ ny fitoerana avo ihany ny olona.
However the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
5 Ary nony tafapetraka tsara teo an-tànany ny fanjakany, dia novonoiny ireo mpanompony izay namono ny mpanjaka rainy.
And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, that he killed his servants who had slain the king his father,
6 Fa ny zanak’ ireo namono kosa dia tsy mba novonoiny, fa nataony araka izay voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny lalàn’ i Mosesy, izay nandidian’ i Jehovah hoe: Ny ray tsy hatao maty amin’ ny ataon’ ny zanany, ary ny zanaka tsy hatao maty amin’ ny ataon’ ny rainy; fa samy hatao maty amin’ ny fahotany avy ny olona.
but he did not put to death the sons of the murderers, according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, as Jehovah commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the sons, nor the sons be put to death for the fathers, but every man shall die for his own sin.
7 Izy no nahafaty ny Edomita iray alina tao amin’ ny Lohasahan-tsira sady nahafaka an’ i Sela tamin’ ny ady ary nanao azy hoe Joktela, izay mbola anarany mandraka androany.
He killed ten thousand of Edom in the Valley of Salt, and took Sela by war, and called the name of it Joktheel, to this day.
8 Tamin’ izany Amazia dia naniraka olona tany amin’ i Joasy, zanak’ i Joahaza, zanak’ i Jeho, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, nanao hoe: Avia, aoka isika hihaona.
Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look each other in the face.
9 Fa Joasy mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, naniraka tany amin’ i Amazia, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, nanao hoe: Ny tsilo izay tany Libanona naniraka tamin’ ny hazo sedera izay tany Libanona nanao hoe: Omeo ny zanako-lahy ny zanakao-vavy ho vadiny; ary dia namaky teo ny bibi-dia tany Libanona ka nanosihosy ny tsilo.
And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife. And a wild beast that was in Lebanon passed by, and trampled the thistle.
10 Efa namely an’ i Edoma tokoa ianao, ka dia nirehareha ny fonao; aoka hahafa-po anao ary izany voninahitra izany, ka mitoera ao an-tranonao ihany; fa nahoana no hihaika ny loza hahalavo ny tenanao mbamin’ ny Joda koa ianao?
Thou have indeed smitten Edom, and thy heart has lifted thee up. Glory by it, and abide at home, for why should thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou should fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?
11 Fa tsy nanaiky Amazia. Koa dia niakatra Joasy, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely; ary izy sy Amazia, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, nihaona tany Beti-semesy izay any Joda.
But Amaziah would not hear. So Jehoash king of Israel went up. And he and Amaziah king of Judah looked each other in the face at Beth-shemesh, which belongs to Judah.
12 Dia resy teo anoloan’ ny Isiraely ny Joda, ka samy nandositra ho any amin’ ny lainy avy izy.
And Judah was put to the worse before Israel, and they fled every man to his tent.
13 Ary Amazia, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, zanak’ i Joasy, zanak’ i Ahazia, nosamborin’ i Joasy, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely tany Beti-semesy; ary dia nankany Jerosalema Joasy, ka nandravany efa-jato hakiho ny màndany hatramin’ ny vavahadin’ i Efraima ka hatramin’ ny vavahady an-jorony.
And Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
14 Ary nalainy avokoa ny volamena sy ny volafotsy rehetra ary ny fanaka rehetra izay hita tao an-tranon’ i Jehovah sy tamin’ ny rakitry ny tranon’ ny mpanjaka mbamin’ ny olona natao antoka, ka dia niverina ho any Samaria izy.
And he took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of Jehovah, and in the treasures of the king's house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria.
15 Ary ny tantaran’ i Joasy sisa mbamin’ ny heriny sy ny niadiany tamin’ i Amazia, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, tsy efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny tantaran’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely va izany?
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16 Ary Joasy lasa nodimandry any amin’ ny razany, dia nalevina tany Samaria tao amin’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely izy; ary Jeroboama zanany no nanjaka nandimby azy.
And Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel. And Jeroboam his son reigned in his stead.
17 Ary ny andro niainan’ i Amazia, zanak’ i Joasy, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, taorian’ ny nahafatesan’ i Joasy, zanak’ i Joahada, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, dia dimy ambin’ ny folo taona.
And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived fifteen years after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel.
18 Ary ny tantaran’ i Amazia sisa, tsy efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny tantaran’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Joda va izany?
Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
19 Ary ny olona niodina taminy tany Jerosalema, dia nandositra nankany Lakisy izy; fa ny olona nampanaraka namono azy tany.
And they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem. And he fled to Lachish. But they sent after him to Lachish, and killed him there.
20 Ary nasampiny tamin’ ny soavaly ny fatiny, dia nalevina tany Jerosalema tao amin’ ny razany tao an-Tanànan’ i Davida izy.
And they brought him upon horses, and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.
21 Ary ny vahoaka rehetra tamin’ ny Joda naka an’ i Azaria, izay vao enina ambin’ ny folo taona tamin’ izay, ka nampanjaka azy handimby an’ i Amazia rainy.
And all the people of Judah took Azariah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the place of his father Amaziah.
22 Izy no hanamboatra an’ i Elota ka nampody azy ho an’ ny Joda, rehefa lasa nodi-mandry any amin’ ny razany ny mpanjaka.
He built Elath, and restored it to Judah, after the king slept with his fathers.
23 Tamin’ ny taona fahadimy ambin’ ny folo nanjakan’ i Amazia, zanak’ i Joasy, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, no vao nanjakan’ i Jeroboama, zanak’ i Joasy, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, tany Samaria, ary nanjaka iraika amby efa-polo taona izy.
In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah, Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria, and reigned forty-one years.
24 Ary nanao izay ratsy eo imason’ i Jehovah izy, fa tsy niala tamin’ ny fahotana rehetra izay nataon’ i Jeroboama, zanak’ i Nebata, sady nampanotany ny Isiraely.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah. He did not depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.
25 Izy no nampody ny sisin-tanin’ ny Isiraely ka azony hatrany akaikin’ i Hamata ka hatramin’ ny ranomasin’ ny tani-hay, araka ny tenin’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, izay nampilazainy ny mpanompony, dia Jona, zanak’ i Amitahy, mpaminany tany Gata-hefera.
He restored the border of Israel from the entrance of Hamath to the sea of the Arabah, according to the word of Jehovah, the God of Israel, which he spoke by his servant Jonah the son of Amittai, the prophet, who was of Gath-hepher.
26 Fa efa hitan’ i Jehovah fa nangidy indrindra ny fahorian’ ny Isiraely; ary tsy nisy sisa, na ny voahazona na ny afaka, sady tsy nisy namonjy ny Isiraely akory.
For Jehovah saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter, for there was none shut up nor left at large, neither was there any helper for Israel.
27 Fa tsy mba nolazain’ i Jehovah fa hovonoiny tsy ho eo ambanin’ ny lanitra ny anaran’ ny Isiraely; fa ny tànan’ i Jeroboama, zanak’ i Joasy, no nentiny namonjy azy.
And Jehovah did not say that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.
28 Ary ny tantaran’ i Jeroboama sisa mbamin’ izay nataony sy ny hery izay niadiany ary ny nampodiany an’ i Damaskosy sy Hamata, izay an’ ny Joda fahiny, ho an’ ny Isiraely, tsy efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny tantaran’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely va izany?
Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he warred, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, which had belonged to Judah, for Israel, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
29 Ary Jeroboama lasa nodi-mandry any amin’ ny razany, dia tao amin’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely; ary Zakaria zanany no nanjaka nandimby azy.
And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel, and Zechariah his son reigned in his stead.
