< 2 Mpanjaka 12 >
1 Ary tamin’ ny taona fahafito nanjakan’ i Jeho no vao nanjaka izy; ary efa-polo taona no nanjakany tany Jerosalema. Ary ny anaran-dreniny dia Zibia, avy any Beri-sheba.
In the seventh year of Jehu, Joash became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem forty years. His mother’s name was Zibiah; she was from Beersheba.
2 Ary Joasy nanao izay mahitsy eo imason’ i Jehovah tamin’ ny androny rehetra izay nanoloran’ i Joiada mpisorona saina azy.
And Joash did what was right in the eyes of the LORD all the days he was instructed by Jehoiada the priest.
3 Nefa kosa ny fitoerana avo tsy mba noravana; ary ny olona mbola namono zavatra hatao fanatitra sady nandoro ditin-kazo manitra teo amin’ ny fitoerana avo ihany.
Nevertheless, the high places were not removed; the people continued sacrificing and burning incense there.
4 Ary hoy Joasy tamin’ ny mpisorona: Ny vola amin’ ny zava-masìna rehetra izay nampidirina tao an-tranon’ i Jehovah, dia ny volan’ ny olona voaisa sy ny vola rehetra izay azo tamin’ ny tomban’ olona ary ny vola rehetra Izay nentin’ ny isan-olona an-tsitrapo ho ao an-tranon’ i Jehovah,
Then Joash said to the priests, “Collect all the money brought as sacred gifts into the house of the LORD—the census money, the money from vows, and the money brought voluntarily into the house of the LORD.
5 aoka horaisin’ ny mpisorona amin’ ny olom-pantany avy izany ka hanamboarany ny simba amin’ ny trano, na amin’ inona na amin’ inona no hitany misy simba.
Let every priest receive it from his constituency, and let it be used to repair any damage found in the temple.”
6 Kanjo hatramin’ ny fahatelo amby roa-polo taona nanjakan’ i Joasy mpanjaka dia tsy mbola voavoatry ny mpisorona ihany ny simba tamin’ ny trano.
By the twenty-third year of the reign of Joash, however, the priests had not yet repaired the damage to the temple.
7 Ka dia niantso an’ i Joiada mpisorona sy ny mpisorona sasany koa Joasy mpanjaka ka nanao taminy hoe: Nahoana ianareo no tsy nanamboatra ny simba amin’ ny trano? Koa ankehitriny, aza mandray vola amin’ ny olom-pantatrareo intsony ianareo, fa omeo hanamboarana ny simba amin’ ny trano ny vola.
So King Joash called Jehoiada and the other priests and said, “Why have you not repaired the damage to the temple? Now, therefore, take no more money from your constituency, but hand it over for the repair of the temple.”
8 Ary ny mpisorona nanaiky tsy handray vola amin’ ny olona intsony sady tsy hanamboatra ny simba amin’ ny trano.
So the priests agreed that they would not receive money from the people and that they would not repair the temple themselves.
9 Fa Joiada mpisorona naka vata anankiray, dia noloahany ny rakony, ary napetrany teo anilan’ ny alitara tamin’ ny sisiny ankavanana eo am-pidirana amin’ ny tranon’ i Jehovah; dia nalatsaky ny mpisorona, mpiandry varavarana, tao ny vola rehetra izay nampidirina ho ao an-tranon’ i Jehovah.
Then Jehoiada the priest took a chest, bored a hole in its lid, and set it beside the altar on the right side as one enters the house of the LORD. There the priests who guarded the threshold put all the money brought into the house of the LORD.
10 Ary rehefa hitany fa be ny vola tao am-bata, dia niakatra ny mpanoratry ny mpanjaka sy ny mpisoronabe, ka nofonosiny ny vola izay hita tao an-tranon’ i Jehovah sady nisainy.
Whenever they saw that there was a large amount of money in the chest, the royal scribe and the high priest would go up, count the money brought into the house of the LORD, and tie it up in bags.
11 Ary ny vola voalanja dia natolotr’ ireo ho eo an-tanan’ ny mpiraharaha, dia izay voatendry ny amin’ ny tranon’ i Jehovah; ary ireo kosa namoaka azy ho amin’ ny mpandrafitra sy ny mpanao trano izay nanamboatra ny tranon’ i Jehovah
Then they would put the counted money into the hands of those who supervised the work on the house of the LORD, who in turn would pay those doing the work—the carpenters, builders,
12 sy ho amin’ ny mpandatsa-bato sy ny mpipaika, ary hamidy hazo sy vato voapaika hanamboarana ny simba amin’ ny tranon’ i Jehovah sy holanina amin’ izay rehetra hanamboarana azy.
masons, and stonecutters. They also purchased timber and dressed stone to repair the damage to the house of the LORD, and they paid the other expenses of the temple repairs.
13 Nefa tsy nisy lovia volafotsy, na antsy, na lovia famafazana, na trompetra, na izay fanaka volamena sy volafotsy na inona na inona, natao ho amin’ ny tranon’ i Jehovah tamin’ ny volafotsy nampidirina tao;
However, the money brought into the house of the LORD was not used for making silver basins, wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls, trumpets, or any articles of gold or silver for the house of the LORD.
14 fa nomeny ny mpiasa izany ka nentin’ ireo nanamboatra ny tranon’ i Jehovah.
Instead, it was paid to those doing the work, and with it they repaired the house of the LORD.
15 Ary tsy nampamoahiny ny olona izay notolorany ny vola homena ny mpiasa, fa nahatoky ireo.
No accounting was required from the men who received the money to pay the workmen, because they acted with integrity.
16 Fa ny vola natao fanati-panonerana sy fanatitra noho ny ota dia tsy mba nampidirina tao an-tranon’ i Jehovah, fa an’ ny mpisorona kosa izany.
The money from the guilt offerings and sin offerings was not brought into the house of the LORD; it belonged to the priests.
17 Ary tamin’ izany dia niakatra Hazaela, mpanjakan’ i Syria, ary namely an’ i Gata ka nahafaka azy; ary nizotra niakatra hamely an’ i Jerosalema koa izy.
At that time Hazael king of Aram marched up and fought against Gath and captured it. Then he decided to attack Jerusalem.
18 Ary Joasy, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, naka ny zavatra rehetra izay nohamasinin’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Joda razany, dia Josafata sy Jehorama sy Ahazia, mbamin’ ny zavatra nohamasinin’ ny tenany koa sy ny volamena rehetra hita tamin’ ny rakitra, na ny tao an-tranon’ i Jehovah, na ny tao an-tranon’ ny mpanjaka, ary nampitondrainy ho any amin’ i Hazaela, mpanjakan’ i Syria, izany; ka dia niverina tsy nankany Jerosalema Hazaela.
So King Joash of Judah took all the sacred objects dedicated by his fathers—Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, and Ahaziah, the kings of Judah—along with his own consecrated items and all the gold found in the treasuries of the house of the LORD and the royal palace, and he sent them to Hazael king of Aram. So Hazael withdrew from Jerusalem.
19 Ary ny tantaran’ i Joasy sisa mbamin’ izay rehetra nataony, tsy efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny tantaran’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Joda va izany?
As for the rest of the acts of Joash, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
20 Ary nitsangana ny mpanompon’ i Joasy ka niodina taminy, dia namono azy tao an-trano Milo, ao am-pidinana mankany Sila.
And the servants of Joash rose up and formed a conspiracy and killed him at Beth-millo, on the road down to Silla.
21 Fa Jozakara, zanak’ i Simata, sy Jozabada, zanak’ i Somera mpanompony namely azy ho faty; dia nalevina tao amin’ ny razany tao an-tanànan’ i Davida izy; ary Amazia zanany no nanjaka nandimby azy.
His servants Jozabad son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer struck him down, and he died. And they buried him with his fathers in the City of David, and his son Amaziah reigned in his place.
