2 Mpanjaka 10

1 Ary nisy zanak’ i Ahaba fito-polo lahy tany Samaria. Ary Jeho nanoratra taratasy ka nampitondra iny ho any Samaria any amin’ ny mpanapaka any Jezirela dia ho any amin’ ny loholona sy ny mpitaiza ny zanak’ i Ahaba nanao hoe:

And Ahab hath seventy sons in Samaria, and Jehu writeth letters, and sendeth to Samaria, unto the heads of Jezreel, the elders, and unto the supporters of Ahab, saying,

2 Ary raha tonga atỳ aminareo ity taratasy ity (fa ao aminareo ny zanakalahin’ ny tomponareo, ary ao aminareo ny kalesy sy ny soavaly sy ny tanàna mimanda ary ny fiadiana),

'And now, at the coming in of this letter unto you, and with you [are] sons of your lord, and with you [are] the chariots and the horses, and a fenced city, and the armour,

3 dia izahao izay tsara sy mendrika indrindra amin’ ny zanakalahin’ ny tomponareo, ary apetraho amin’ ny seza fiandrianan-drainy izy, ka miadia ary ho an’ ny mpianakavin’ ny tomponareo.

and ye have seen the best and the uprightest of the sons of your lord, and have set [him] on the throne of his father, and fight ye for the house of your lord.'

4 Dia raikitahotra indrindra ireo ka nifampilaza hoe: Indro ny mpanjaka roa aza tsy nahajanona teo anatrehany, ka hataontsika ahoana no fahajanona?

And they fear very greatly, and say, 'Lo, the two kings have not stood before him, and how do we stand — we?'

5 Ary ny lehiben’ ny tandapa sy ny mpanapaka ny tanana ary ny loholona koa sy ireo mpitaiza naniraka tany amin’ i Jeho nanao hoe: Mpanomponao izahay, koa izay rehetra andidianao anay dia hataonay; tsy hanangana andriana izahay, fa izay sitraky ny fonao ihany no ataovy.

And he who [is] over the house, and he who [is] over the city, and the elders, and the supporters, send unto Jehu, saying, 'Thy servants we [are], and all that thou sayest unto us we do; we do not make any one king — that which [is] good in thine eyes do.'

6 Dia nanoratra taratasy taminy indray Jeho nanao hoe: Raha ahy ary ianareo ka hankatò ny teniko, dia tapaho ny lohan’ ireo zanakalahin’ ny tomponareo, ary mankanesa atỳ amiko atỳ Jezirela rahampitso toy izao. Ary izy fito-polo lahy zanaky ny mpanjaka dia tao amin’ ireo lehiben’ ny tanàna, mpitaiza azy.

And he writeth unto them a letter a second time, saying, 'If ye [are] for me, and to my voice are hearkening, take the heads of the men — the sons of your lord, and come unto me about this time to-morrow, to Jezreel;' and the sons of the king [are] seventy men, with the great ones of the city those bringing them up.

7 Ary nony efa tonga tany amin’ ireo ny taratasy, dia naka ny zanakalahin’ ny mpanjaka izy ka namono azy fito-polo lahy, ary nataony tao an-tsobiky ny lohany ka nateriny tany amin’ i Jeho tany Jezirela.

And it cometh to pass, at the coming in of the letter unto them, that they take the sons of the king, and slaughter seventy men, and put their heads in baskets, and send unto him to Jezreel,

8 Ary tonga ny iraka ka nanambara taminy hoe: Indro, efa nitondra ny lohan’ ny zanakalahin’ ny mpanjaka izy. Ary hoy Jeho: Ampifanongoavy ho roa toko eo anoloan’ ny vavahady mandra-pahamarain’ ny andro.

and the messenger cometh in, and declareth to him, saying, 'They have brought in the heads of the sons of the king,' and he saith, 'Make them two heaps at the opening of the gate till the morning.'

9 Ary nony maraina, dia nivoaka Jeho ary nitsangana ka nanao tamin’ ny vahoaka rehetra hoe: Marina ianareo, indro, izaho nikomy tamin’ ny tompoko ka nahafaty azy; fa iza kosa no nahafaty ireto rehetra ireto?

And it cometh to pass in the morning, that he goeth out, and standeth, and saith unto all the people, 'Righteous are ye; lo, I have conspired against my lord, and slay him — and who smote all these?

10 Aoka ho fantatrareo ary fa tsy hisy raraka an-tany ny tenin’ i Jehovah izay nolazainy ny amin’ ny taranak’ i Ahaba; fa Jehovah efa nanao izay nampilazainy an’ i Elia mpanompony.

Know ye now, that nothing doth fall of the word of Jehovah to the earth that Jehovah spake against the house of Ahab, and Jehovah hath done that which He spake by the hand of His servant Elijah.'

11 Ka dia novonoin’ i Jeho izay sisa rehetra tamin’ ny taranak’ i Ahaba tao Jezirela sy ny olom-baventy rehetra tao aminy mbamin’ ny havany ary ny mpisorony koa, ambara-paha-tsy hisy miangana na dia iray akory aza.

And Jehu smiteth all those left to the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his acquaintances, and his priests, till he hath not left to him a remnant.

12 Dia niainga izy ka nankany Samaria. Ary nony mby tany an-trano fivorian’ ny mpiandry ondry tany an-dalana Jeho,

And he riseth, and cometh in and goeth to Samaria; he [is] at the shepherds' shearing-house in the way,

13 dia nifanena amin’ ny rahalahin’ i Ahazia, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, izy ka nanao hoe: Iza ange ianareo? Ary izy ireo namaly hoe: Rahalahin’ i Ahazia izahay ary midìna mba hamangy ny zanakalahin’ ny mpanjaka sy ny zanakalahin’ ny andriambavy.

and Jehu hath found the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and saith, 'Who [are] ye?' and they say, 'Brethren of Ahaziah we [are], and we go down to salute the sons of the king, and the sons of the mistress.'

14 Ary hoy Jeho: Sambory velona ireo. Dia nosamboriny ka novonoiny teo akaikin’ ny lavaka famorian-drano tao an-trano fivoriana izy roa amby efa-polo lahy ireo, ary tsy nasiany miangana na dia iray akory aza.

And he saith, 'Catch them alive;' and they catch them alive, and slaughter them at the pit of the shearing-house, forty and two men, and he hath not left a man of them.

15 Ary rehefa niala teo Jeho, dia nahita an’ i Jonadaba, zanakalahin’ i Rekaba, avy manatona azy; dia niarahaba azy izy ary nanao taminy hoe: Marina va ny fonao tahaka ny foko amin’ ny fonao? Ary Jonadaba namaly hoe: Eny. Raha izany ary no izy, hoy Jeho, dia aoka isika hifandray tanana. Dia natolony ny tànany, ka nampiakarin’ i Jeho ho eo aminy teo anatin’ ny kalesy izy.

And he goeth thence, and findeth Jehonadab son of Rechab — to meet him, and blesseth him, and saith unto him, 'Is thy heart right, as my heart [is] with thy heart?' and Jehonadab saith, 'It is;' — 'Then it is; give thy hand;' and he giveth his hand, and he causeth him to come up into him into the chariot,

16 Ary hoy Jeho: Andeha hiaraka amiko, ka izahao ny zotom-poko ho an’ i Jehovah. Dia nentina teo amin’ ny kalesy izy.

and saith, 'Come with me, and look on my zeal for Jehovah;' and they cause him to ride in his chariot.

17 Ary rehefa tonga tany Samaria Jeho, dia namono izay sisa rehetra tamin’ ny tamingan’ i Ahaba tany Samaria mandra-paharingany, araka ny tenin’ i Jehovah izay nolazainy tamin’ i Elia.

And he cometh in to Samaria, and smiteth all those left to Ahab in Samaria, till his destroying him, according to the word of Jehovah that He spake unto Elisha.

18 Ary Jeho namory ny vahoaka rehetra ka nanao taminy hoe: Ahaba nanompo an’ i Bala kelikely ihany, fa Jeho no hanompo azy fatratra.

And Jehu gathereth the whole of the people, and saith unto them, 'Ahab served Baal a little — Jehu doth serve him much:

19 Koa ankehitriny vorio ho atỳ amiko ny mpaminanin’ i Bala rehetra, ny mpanompony rehetra sy ny mpisorony rehetra; aza avela hisy tsy ho tonga na dia iray akory aza; fa hamono zavatra betsaka ho fanatitra ho an’ i Bala aho; koa na iza na iza tsy ho tonga, dia tsy hovelomina izy. Kanjo Jeho nanao izany ho fihendrena handringanany ny mpanompon’ i Bala.

and now, all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests, call ye unto me; let not a man be lacking, for a great sacrifice I have for Baal; every one who is lacking — he doth not live;' and Jehu hath done [it] in subtilty, in order to destroy the servants of Baal.

20 Ary hoy Jeho: Manendre fivoriana masìna ho an’ i Bala. Koa dia nanendry andro izy.

And Jehu saith, 'Sanctify a restraint for Baal;' and they proclaim [it].

21 Ary Jeho naniraka tany amin’ ny Isiraely rehetra, ary dia tonga ny mpanompon’ i Bala rehetra, ka tsy nisy lehilahy tsy tonga teo na dia iray akory aza. Ary dia niditra tao an-tranon’ i Bala ireo, ka feno hika ny trano.

And Jehu sendeth into all Israel, and all the servants of Baal come in, and there hath not been left a man who hath not come in; and they come in to the house of Baal, and the house of Baal is full — mouth to mouth.

22 Dia hoy Jeho tamin’ ny mpitahiry ny fitafiana: Amoahy fitafiana ny mpanompon’ i Bala rehetra. Ary dia namoaka ny fitafiana ho azy izy.

And he saith to him who [is] over the wardrobe, 'Bring out clothing to all servants of Baal;' and he bringeth out to them the clothing.

23 Ary Jeho sy Jonadaba, zanak’ i Rekaba, nankao an-tranon’ i Bala ka niteny tamin’ ny mpanompon’ i Bala hoe: Fantaro tsara sy izahao, fandrao misy mpanompon’ i Jehovah eto aminareo, fa tsy ny mpanompon’ i Bala ihany.

And Jehu goeth in, and Jehonadab son of Rechab, to the house of Baal, and saith to the servants of Baal, 'Search and see, lest there be here with you of the servants of Jehovah — but, the servants of Baal by themselves.'

24 Ary nony niditra hanatitra fanatitra dorana sy fanatitra hafa alatsa-drà izy, Jeho kosa dia nametraka valo-polo lahy teo ala-trano ka nanao hoe; Raha misy afa-mandositra ny olona izay nentiko ho eto an-tananareo, izay mamela azy handeha, dia ny ainy no hisolo ny ainy.

And they come in to make sacrifices and burnt-offerings, and Jehu hath set for himself in an out-place eighty men, and saith, 'The man who letteth escape [any] of the men whom I am bringing in unto your hand — his soul for his soul.'

25 Ary rehefa vita ny nanaterany ny fanatitra dorana, dia hoy Jeho tamin’ ny mpiambina sy ny mpanafika malaza: Midìra, ka vonoy, ary aza avela hisy ho tafavoaka. Dia namely azy tamin’ ny lelan-tsabatra izy; ary ny mpiambina sy ny mpanafika malaza dia nanary ny faty ary niditra tao amin’ ny tanàna nisy ny tranon’ i Bala.

And it cometh to pass at his finishing to make the burnt-offering, that Jehu saith to the runners, and to the captains, 'Go in, smite them, let none come out;' and they smite them by the mouth of the sword, and the runners and the captains cast [them] out; and they go unto the city, to the house of Baal,

26 Ary namoaka ny orin-kazo izay tao an-tranon’ i Bala izy ka nandoro ireny.

and bring out the standing-pillars of the house of Baal, and burn them,

27 Ary nandrava ny tsangam-baton’ i Bala sy ny tranony izy, ary dia nataony trano fivoahana mandraka androany izany.

and break down the standing-pillar of Baal, and break down the house of Baal, and appoint it for a draught-house unto this day.

28 Toy izany no nandravan’ i Jeho an’ i Bala tsy ho amin’ ny Isiraely.

And Jehu destroyeth Baal out of Israel,

29 Nefa Jeho tsy dia niala tamin’ ny fahotan’ i Jeroboama, zanak’ i Nebata, izay nampanotany ny Isiraely, dia tamin’ ireo ombilahy kely volamena izay tao Betela sy Dana.

only — the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, that he caused Israel to sin, Jehu hath not turned aside from after them — the calves of gold that [are] at Beth-El, and in Dan.

30 Ary hoy Jehovah tamin’ i Jeho: Satria efa nanao soa ianao tamin’ ny nanaovanao izay mahitsy eo imasoko sady efa nataonao tamin’ ny taranak’ i Ahaba araka izay rehetra tao am-poko, koa dia hitoetra amin’ ny seza fiandrianan’ ny Isiraely ny taranakao hatramin’ ny zafindohalika.

And Jehovah saith unto Jehu, 'Because that thou hast done well, to do that which [is] right in Mine eyes — according to all that [is] in My heart thou hast done to the house of Ahab — the sons of the fourth [generation] do sit for thee on the throne of Israel.'

31 Nefa Jeho tsy nitandrina handeha amin’ ny lalàn’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, amin’ ny fony rehetra; fa tsy niala tamin’ ny fahotan’ i Jeroboama izay nampanotany ny Isiraely izy.

And Jehu hath not taken heed to walk in the law of Jehovah, God of Israel, with all his heart, he hath not turned aside from the sins of Jeroboam, that he caused Israel to sin.

32 Tamin’ izany andro izany no niantombohan’ ny nanakelezan’ i Jehovah ny Isiraely; fa Hazaela namely azy tamin’ ny sisin-tanin’ ny Isiraely rehetra

In those days hath Jehovah begun to cut off [some] in Israel, and Hazael smiteth them in all the border of Israel,

33 hatrany Jordana no ho miantsinanana, dia ny tany Gileada rehetra, ny Gadita sy ny Robenita ary ny Manasita, hatrany Aroera, izay eo amoron’ ny lohasahan-driaka Arnona, dia Gileada sy Basana.

from the Jordan, at the sun-rising, the whole land of Gilead, of the Gadite, and the Reubenite, and the Manassahite (from Aroer, that [is] by the brook Arnon), even Gilead and Bashan.

34 Ary ny tantaran’ i Jeho sisa mbamin’ izay rehetra nataony ary ny heriny rehetra, tsy efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny tantaran’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely va izany?

And the rest of the matters of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

35 Ary Jeho lasa nodi-mandry any amin’ ny razany, dia nalevina tao Samaria izy. Ary Joahaza zanany no nanjaka nandimby azy.

And Jehu lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in Samaria, and reign doth Jehoahaz his son in his stead.

36 Ary ny andro izay nanjakan’ i Jeho tamin’ ny Isiraely tao Samaria dia valo amby roa-polo taona.

And the days that Jehu hath reigned over Israel [are] twenty and eight years, in Samaria.
