1 Dimy amby roa-polo taona Jotama, fony izy vao nanjaka, ary enina ambin’ ny folo taona no nanjakany tany Jerosalema. Ary ny anaran-dreniny dia Jerosa, zanakavavin’ i Zadoka.
Joatham [was] twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name [was] Jerusa, daughter of Sadoc.
2 Ary nanao izay mahitsy eo imason’ i Jehovah izy, tahaka izay nataon’ i Ozia rainy; nefa kosa tsy mba niditra tao amin’ ny tempolin’ i Jehovah izy. Ary ny vahoaka rehetra mbola nanao ratsy ihany.
And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Ozias did: but he went not into the temple of the Lord. And still the people corrupted themselves.

He built the high gate of the house of the Lord, and he built much in the wall of Opel.
4 Ary nanao tanàna teny amin’ ny tany havoan’ i Joda sy trano fiarovana ary tilikambo tany an’ ala koa izy.
In the mountain of Juda, and in the woods, [he built] both dwelling-places and towers.
5 Ary niady tamin’ ny mpanjakan’ ny taranak’ i Amona koa izy ka naharesy azy. Ary tamin’ izany taona izany ny taranak’ i Amona nanome azy talenta volafotsy zato ary vary tritika sy vary hordea iray alina kora avy; izany no naloan’ ny taranak’ i Amona ho azy tamin’ ny-taona faharoa sy fahatelo koa.
He fought against the king of the children of Ammon, and prevailed against him: and the children of Ammon gave him even annually a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. These the king of the children of Ammon brought to him annually in the first and second and third years.

Joatham grew strong, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.
7 Ary ny tantaran’ i Jotama sisa mbamin’ ny adiny rehetra sy ny fanaony, indro, efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely sy ny Joda izany.
And the rest of the acts of Joatham, and his war, and his deeds, behold, [they are] written in the book of the kings of Juda and Israel.

9 Ary Jotama lasa nodi-mandry any amin’ ny razany, dia nalevina tany an-Tanànan’ i Davida izy; ary Ahaza zanany no nanjaka nandimby azy.
And Joatham slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Achaz his son reigned in his stead.
