< 2 Tantara 25 >

1 Dimy amby roa-polo taona Amazia, fony izy vao nanjaka, ary sivy amby roa-polo taona no nanjakany tany Jerosalema. Ary ny anaran-dreniny dia Joadana, avy any Jerosalema.
Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jehoaddan, of Jerusalem.
2 Ary nanao izay mahitsy eo imason’ i Jehovah izy, nefa tsy dia tamin’ ny fony rehetra.
He did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, but not with a perfect heart.
3 Ary nony tafapetraka tsara tamin’ ny fanjakany izy, dia novonoiny ireo mpanompony izay namono ny mpanjaka rainy.
Now when the kingdom was established to him, he killed his servants who had killed his father the king.
4 Nefa ny zanak’ ireo namono dia tsy mba novonoiny, fa nataony araka izay voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny lalàna, dia ao amin’ ny bokin’ i Mosesy, izay nandidian’ i Jehovah hoe: Ny ray tsy hatao maty amin’ ny ataon’ ny zanany, ary ny zanaka tsy hatao maty amin’ ny ataon’ ny rainy, fa samy ho faty amin’ ny fahotany avy ny olona.
But he didn’t put their children to death, but did according to that which is written in the Torah in the book of Moses, as the LORD commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.”
5 Ary novorin’ i Amazia ny Joda, ka nalahany araka ny fianakaviany avy, dia araka ny mpifehy arivo sy ny mpifehy zato avy amin’ ny Joda sy ny Benjamina rehetra: dia nisainy ny hatramin’ ny roa-polo taona no ho miakatra, ka olona telo hetsy voafantina no hitany, izay azo nalefa hanafika sady nahatan-defona sy ampinga lehibe.
Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together and ordered them according to their fathers’ houses, under captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, even all Judah and Benjamin. He counted them from twenty years old and upward, and found that there were three hundred thousand chosen men, able to go out to war, who could handle spear and shield.
6 Ary nisy lehilahy mahery iray hetsy tamin’ ny Isiraely nokaramainy talenta volafotsy zato.
He also hired one hundred thousand mighty men of valour out of Israel for one hundred talents of silver.
7 Nefa nisy lehilahin’ Andriamanitra tonga tao aminy ka nanao hoe: Ry mpanjaka, aza avela hanaraka anao ny miaramilan’ ny Isiraely; fa tsy omban’ i Jehovah ny Isiraely, dia ny taranak’ i Efraima rehetra.
A man of God came to him, saying, “O king, don’t let the army of Israel go with you, for the LORD is not with Israel, with all the children of Ephraim.
8 Fa mandehana ihany ianao, ka manaova, ary mahereza amin’ ny ady; fa hataon’ Andriamanitra lavo eo anoloan’ ny fahavalo ianao; fa Andriamanitra no mahay mamonjy sy mampahalavo.
But if you will go, take action, and be strong for the battle. God will overthrow you before the enemy; for God has power to help, and to overthrow.”
9 Fa hoy Amazia tamin’ ilay lehilahin’ Andriamanitra: Ka hataontsika ahoana ny amin’ ny talenta zato nomeko ny miaramilan’ ny Isiraely? Asy hoy ilay lehilahin’ Andriamanitra taminy: Jehovah mahay manome anao mihoatra lavitra noho izany.
Amaziah said to the man of God, “But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel?” The man of God answered, “The LORD is able to give you much more than this.”
10 Dia navahan’ i Amazia ireo miaramila tonga tao aminy avy tamin’ ny Efraima ireo mba hody indray; ary nirehitra mafy ny fahatezeran’ ireo tamin’ ny Joda, dia lasa nody izy sady tezitra indrindra.
Then Amaziah separated them, the army that had come to him out of Ephraim, to go home again. Therefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah, and they returned home in fierce anger.
11 Ary Amazia nitombo hery, dia nitarika ny vahoakany ka nankany amin’ ny Lohasahan-tsira, ary nahafaty iray alina tamin’ ny taranak’ i Seïra izy.
Amaziah took courage, and led his people out and went to the Valley of Salt, and struck ten thousand of the children of Seir.
12 Ary ny iray alina sisa nataon’ ny taranak’ i Joda sambo-belona, dia nentiny teo an-tampon’ ny hantsam-bato ary navariny teo, ka montsamontsana izy rehetra.
The children of Judah carried away ten thousand alive, and brought them to the top of the rock, and threw them down from the top of the rock, so that they all were broken in pieces.
13 Fa ireo miaramila izay nampodin’ i Amazia tsy hiara-manafika aminy dia nihahakahaka teny an-tanànan’ ny Joda hatrany Samaria ka hatrany Beti-horona ka nahafaty olona telo arivo tany sady nahazo babo betsaka.
But the men of the army whom Amaziah sent back, that they should not go with him to battle, fell on the cities of Judah from Samaria even to Beth Horon, and struck of them three thousand, and took much plunder.
14 Ary Amazia, nony niverina avy nanafika ny Edomita, dia nitondra ny andriamanitry ny taranak’ i Seïra ka nanangana azy ho andriamaniny; ary niankohoka teo anatrehany izy sady nandoro ditin-kazo manitra ho azy.
Now after Amaziah had come from the slaughter of the Edomites, he brought the gods of the children of Seir, and set them up to be his gods, and bowed down himself before them and burnt incense to them.
15 Dia nirehitra tamin’ Amazia ny fahatezeran’ i Jehovah, ka naniraka mpaminany anankiray ho any aminy Izy hanontany azy, hoe: Nahoana ianao no mitady ny andriamanitry ny firenena, izay tsy naharo ny olony tamin’ ny tananao aza?
Therefore the LORD’s anger burnt against Amaziah, and he sent to him a prophet who said to him, “Why have you sought after the gods of the people, which have not delivered their own people out of your hand?”
16 Ary raha niteny taminy izy, dia novaliany hoe: Moa voatendrinay ho mpanolo-tsaina ny mpanjaka va Hianao? Aoka itsy ange, fandrao asian’ ny olona ianao. Dia nitsahatra ilay mpaminany ka nanao hoe: Fantatro fa Andriamanitra mikasa hahafaty anao satria nanao izany ianao ka tsy nihaino ny anatro.
As he talked with him, the king said to him, “Have we made you one of the king’s counsellors? Stop! Why should you be struck down?” Then the prophet stopped, and said, “I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.”
17 Ary Amazia, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, naka hevitra, dia naniraka tany amin’ i Joasy, zanak’ i Joahaza, zanak’ i Jeho, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, izy hanao hoe: Avia, aoka isika hihaona.
Then Amaziah king of Judah consulted his advisers, and sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, “Come! Let’s look one another in the face.”
18 Fa Joasy, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, naniraka tany amin’ i Amazia, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, nanao hoe: Ny tsilo izay tany Libanona naniraka tamin’ ny hazo sedera izay tany Libanona nanao hoe: Omeo ny zanakolahy ny zanakaovavy ho vadiny; dia namaky teo ny bibi-dia tany Libanona ka nanosihosy ny tsilo.
Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son as his wife. Then a wild animal that was in Lebanon passed by and trampled down the thistle.
19 Lazainao fa namely an’ i Edoma ianao, ka dia nanesika anao hirehareha ny fonao; mitoera ihany ange ao an-tranonao, fa nahoana no hihaika ny loza hahalavo ny tenanao mbamin’ ny Joda koa ianao?
You say to yourself that you have struck Edom; and your heart lifts you up to boast. Now stay at home. Why should you meddle with trouble, that you should fall, even you and Judah with you?’”
20 Fa tsy nanaiky Amazia, satria avy tamin’ Andriamanitra izany, mba hanolorany azy ho eo an-tànan’ ny fahavalony noho ny nitadiavany ny andriamanitry ny Edomita.
But Amaziah would not listen; for it was of God, that he might deliver them into the hand of their enemies, because they had sought after the gods of Edom.
21 Ka dia niakatra Joasy, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely; ary izy sy Amazia, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, nihaona tany Beti-semesy izay an’ i Joda.
So Joash king of Israel went up, and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth Shemesh, which belongs to Judah.
22 Dia resy teo anoloan’ ny Isiraely ny Joda, ka samy nandositra ho any amin’ ny lainy avy izy.
Judah was defeated by Israel; so every man fled to his tent.
23 Ary Amazia, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, zanak’ Joasy, zanak’ i Joahaza, dia nosamborin’ i Joasy, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, tany Beti-semesy ka nentiny nankany Jerosalema; ary nandravan’ i Joasy efa-jato hakiho ny mandan’ i Jerosalema hatramin’ ny vavahadin’ i Efraima ka hatramin’ ny vavahady an-jorony.
Joash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash the son of Jehoahaz, at Beth Shemesh and brought him to Jerusalem, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
24 Ary nalainy avokoa ny volamena sy ny volafotsy rehetra ary ny fanaka rehetra izay hita tao an-tranon’ Andriamanitra tao amin’ i Obed-edoma sy tamin’ ny rakitry ny tranon’ ny mpanjaka mbamin’ ny olona natao antoka koa, ka dia niverina ho any Samaria izy.
He took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in God’s house with Obed-Edom, and the treasures of the king’s house, and the hostages, and returned to Samaria.
25 Ary ny andro niainan’ i Amazia zanak’ i Joasy, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, taorian’ ny nahafatesan’ i Joasy, zanak’ i Joahaza, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, dia dimy ambin’ ny folo taona.
Amaziah the son of Joash, king of Judah, lived for fifteen years after the death of Joash, son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel.
26 Ary ny tantaran’ i Amazia sisa, na ny voalohany na ny farany, indro, tsy efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Joda sy ny Isiraely va izany?
Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, first and last, behold, aren’t they written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel?
27 Ary hatramin’ ny andro nihemoran’ i Amazia tsy nanaraka an’ i Jehovah dia niodina taminy tany Jerosalema ny olona, ka dia nandositra nankany Lakisy izy; fa naniraka nanaraka azy tany ny olona ka namono azy tany.
Now from the time that Amaziah turned away from following the LORD, they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem. He fled to Lachish, but they sent after him to Lachish and killed him there.
28 Ary nasampiny tamin’ ny soavaly ny fatiny, dia naleviny tao amin’ ny razany tao an-tanànan’ ny Joda.
They brought him on horses and buried him with his fathers in the City of Judah.
