< 2 Tantara 23 >
1 Ary tamin’ ny taona fahafito Joiada nitombo hery ka nanao fanekena tamin’ ny mpifehy zato, dia Azaria, zanak’ i Jerohama, sy Isimaela, zanak’ i Johanana, sy Azaria, zanak’ i Obeda, sy Mahaseia, zanak’ i Adaia, ary Elisafata, zanak’ i Zikry.
But in the seventh year, Jehoiada had the courage to act. He made a pledge with the commanders of hundreds: Azariah, son of Jeroham, Ishmael, son of Jehohanan, Azariah, son of Obed, Maaseiah, son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat, son of Zichri.
2 Ary nitety an’ i Joda Ireo ka namory ny Levita avy tany amin’ ny tanànan’ ny Joda rehetra sy ny lohan’ ny fianakaviana tamin’ ny Isiraely, dia tonga tany Jerosalema ireo.
They traveled all over Judah and brought together the Levites from all the cities of Judah and the family leaders of Israel. When they came to Jerusalem,
3 Ary ny olona rehetra vory tao dia nanao fanekena tamin’ ny mpanjaka tao an-tranon’ Andriamanitra. Ary hoy Joiada taminy: Indro, ny zanaky ny mpanjaka no hanjaka araka ny efa nolazain’ i Jehovah ny amin’ ny taranak’ i Davida.
they all assembled at God's Temple and made a solemn agreement with the king. Jehoiada announced to them, “Look, here is the king's son and he must reign, just as the Lord promised the descendants of David would.
4 Izao no hataonareo: ny ampahatelonareo izay milatsaka amin’ ny Sabata, dia ny mpisorona sy ny Levita, ho mpiandry varavarana;
Here's what you have to do. One third of you priests and Levites who enter on the Sabbath shall guard the entrances.
5 ary ny ampahatelonareo ho ao an-tranon’ ny mpanjaka; ary ny ampahatelonareo ho eo amin’ ny vavahadin’ ny fanorenana; ary ny vahoaka rehetra kosa dia ho eo amin’ ny kianjan’ ny tranon’ i Jehovah.
Another third shall go over to the king's palace, while the last third shall be at the Foundation Gate. Everyone else stay in the courtyards of the Lord's Temple.
6 Fa aza avela hisy hiditra ao an-tranon’ i Jehovah afa-tsy ny mpisorona sy ny Levita izay manao fanompoam-pivavahana ihany; ireo ihany no hiditra, satria masìna ireo; fa ny vahoaka rehetra kosa dia hitandrina izay nasain’ i Jehovah hotandremana.
No one should enter the Lord's Temple except the priests and those Levites are serving. They can enter because they have been made holy, but everyone else must follow the Lord's commands.
7 Ary ny Levita hanemitra manodidina ny mpanjaka, samy mitana ny fiadiany avy; ka na iza na iza miditra ao an-trano dia Vonoy, ary arahonareo ny mpanjaka, na miditra na mivoaka izy.
The Levites shall surround the king, weapons in hand. Kill anyone who enters the Temple. Stay close to the king wherever he goes.”
8 Ary ny Levita sy ny Joda rehetra dia nanao araka izay rehetra nandidian’ i Joiada mpisorona azy, ka samy nitondra ny olom-peheziny izay nilatsaka tamin’ ny Sabata sy izay niala tamin’ ny Sabata izy; fa Joiada mpisorona tsy nandrava ny antokony.
The Levites and all the people of Judah did everything that Jehoiada the priest told them. The commanders each brought his men, both those coming on duty on the Sabbath and those going off duty, for Jehoiada the priest had not dismissed any of the divisions.
9 Ary nomen’ i Joiada mpisorona ho an’ ny mpifehy zato ny lefona sy ny ampinga kely sy ny ampinga lehibe, izay an’ i Davida mpanjaka ka tao an-tranon’ Andriamanitra.
Jehoiada the priest provided the commanders with the spears and the large and small shields of King David that were in God's Temple.
10 Ary ny vahoaka rehetra dia nalahany, samy nitana ny fiadiany avy hanodidina ny mpanjaka hatramin’ ny lafiny ankavavan’ ny trano ka hatramin’ ny lafiny ankavia, hatramin’ ny alitara ka hatramin’ ny trano.
He placed them all, with their weapons in hand, to surround the king from the south side of the Temple to the north side, and near the altar and the Temple.
11 Dia nentiny nivoaka ny zanakalahin’ ny mpanjaka ka nampisatrohiny ny satro-boninahitra, sady notolorany ny teni-vavolombelona, ka dia nampanjakainy. Ary Joiada sy ny zanany nanosotra azy ka niantso hoe: Ho ela velona anie ny mpanjaka!
Jehoiada and his sons then brought out the king's son, placed the crown on him, presented him with a copy of God's law, and proclaimed him king. They anointed him, and shouted out, “Long live the king!”
12 Ary nony ren’ i Atalia ny tabataban’ ny vahoaka nifamoivoy sy niarahaba ny mpanjaka, dia mba nankao amin’ ny vahoaka tao an-tranon’ i Jehovah koa izy.
When Athaliah heard the noise of people running and shouting praise to the king, she rushed to the crowds at the Lord's Temple.
13 Ary hitany fa, indro, ny mpanjaka nitsangana teo amin’ ny fitoeran’ andriana teo amin’ ny fidirana, ary ny mpanapaka sy ny mpitsoka ny trompetra dia teo anilan’ ny mpanjaka; ary ny vahoaka rehetra dia nifaly sady nitsoka ny trompetra ary ny mpihira amin’ ny zava-maneno isan-karazany no nitarika ny hira fiderana. Dia nandriatra ny fitafiany Atalia ka niantso hoe: Fikomiana! fikomiana!
She saw the king standing by his pillar at the entrance. The commanders and trumpeters were with the king, and everyone was celebrating and blowing trumpets as the singers with musical instruments led the praise. Athaliah ripped her clothes and screamed out, “Treason! Treason!”
14 Fa nasain’ i Joiada navoaky ny kapiteny! mpifehy ny miaramila, izy, ka hoy izy tamin’ ireo: Avoahy eny ivelan’ ny filaharana izy, ary izay manaraka azy dia vonoy amin’ ny sabatra. Fa ny mpisorona efa nandrara hoe: Aza vonoina eto an-tranon’ i Jehovah izy.
Jehoiada ordered the army commanders, “Bring her to the men standing in front of the Temple, and kill anyone who follows her.” Earlier the priest had made it clear, “She must not be killed in the Lord's Temple.”
15 Ary ny olona nisava teo an-daniny roa, dia nankamin’ ny fidirana amin’ ny vavahadin-tsoavaly ravehivavy ka niditra tao an-tranon’ ny mpanjaka; dia novonoiny teo izy.
They grabbed hold of her and took her to the entrance of the Horse Gate of the king's palace, and killed her there.
16 Ary Joiada nampanao fanekena ny vahoaka rehetra sy ny mpanjaka mbamin’ ny tenany mba ho olon’ i Jehovah.
Then Jehoiada made a solemn agreement between himself and all the people and the king that they would be the Lord's people.
17 Ary ny vahoaka vehetra niditra tao an-tranon’ i Bala ka nandrava azy; ny alitara sy ny endri-javatra dia notorotoroiny avokoa, ary Matana, mpisoron’ i Bala, novonoiny teo anoloan’ ny alitara.
Everyone went to the Temple of Baal and tore down its altars and smashed the idols. They killed Mattan, the priest of Baal, right in front of the altar.
18 Ary Joiada nanendry olona hitandrina ny tranon’ i Jehovah hofehezin’ ny Levita mpisorona izay nozarazarain’ i Davida ho ao an-tranon’ i Jehovah, hanatitra ny fanatitra dorana ho an’ i Jehovah, araka ny voasoratra ao amin’ ny lalàn’ i Mosesy, amin’ ny fifaliana sy ny fihirana, dia araka ny nasain’ i Davida natao.
Jehoiada placed the responsibility for the Lord's Temple in the hands of the Levitical priests. They were the ones whom David had appointed over the Lord's Temple to offer burnt offerings to the Lord, as is required by the Law of Moses, with celebration and singing, as David instructed.
19 Ary nalatsany teo am-bavahadin’ ny tranon’ i Jehovah ny mpiandry varavarana mba tsy hisy zavatra maloto na inona na inona ho tafiditra ao.
He placed gatekeepers at the entrances to the Lord's Temple, so that no one unclean for any reason could enter.
20 Dia nalainy ny mpifehy zato sy ny olona manan-kaja sy ny mpanapaka ny olona ary ny vahoaka rehetra; ary dia nentiny nidina avy tao an-tranon’ i Jehovah ny mpanjaka, ka ny vavahady ambony no nalehany hankao an-tranon’ ny mpanjaka; ary nametraka ny mpanjaka teo amin’ ny seza fiandrianan’ ny fanjakana izy.
Along with the commanders, the nobles, the governors of the people, and all the people, he led the king in a procession down from the Lord's Temple through the upper gate to the royal palace. There they set the king on the royal throne.
21 Dia nifaly ny vahoaka rehetra; ary nandry fahizay ny tanana, fa Atalia efa novonoiny tamin’ ny sabatra.
All throughout the land people celebrated, and Jerusalem was at peace, because Athaliah had been killed by the sword.
