< 2 Tantara 12 >
1 Ary Rehoboama, rehefa nampandry ny ny fanjakany sady efa nahery, dia nahafoy ny lalan’ i Jehovah izy sy ny Isiraely rehetra.
And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.
2 Ary tamin’ ny taona fahadimy nanjakan-dRehoboama mpanjaka dia niakatra Sisaka, mpanjakan’ i Egypta, hamely an’ i Jerosalema, fa nivadika tamin’ i Jehovah ny mponina tany,
And it came to pass, [that] in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,
3 ary nitondra kalesy roan-jato amby arivo sy mpitaingin-tsoavaly enina alina izy, ary tsy hita isa ny olona izay nanaraka azy avy tany Egypta, dia ny Lobita sy ny Sokita ary ny Etiopiana.
With twelve hundred chariots, and sixty thousand horsemen: and the people [were] without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Cushites.
4 Dia nahafaka ny tanàna mimanda izay any Joda izy ka tonga tany Jerosalema.
And he took the fortified cities which [pertained] to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.
5 Ary Semaia mpaminany tonga tao amin-dRehoboama sy ireo mpanapaka ny Joda, izay tafangona tany Jerosalema noho ny amin’ i Sisaka, ka nanao taminy hoe: Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah: Hianareo efa nahafoy Ahy, koa Izaho kosa dia mba nahafoy anareo ho eo an-tànan’ i Sisaka.
Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and [to] the princes of Judah, that were assembled at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, Thus saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.
6 Dia niaiky ireo mpanapaka ny Isiraely sy ny mpanjaka ka nanao hoe: Marina Jehovah.
Upon which the princes of Israel, and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD [is] righteous.
7 Ary nony hitan’ i Jehovah fa niaiky izy, dia tonga tao amin’ i Semaia indray ny tenin’ i Jehovah nanao hoe: Efa niaiky izy, ka dia tsy handringana azy Aho, fa tsy ho ela dia hamonjy azy; ary tsy haidiko amin’ i Jerosalema avy amin’ ny tànan’ i Sisaka ny fahatezerako.
And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; [therefore] I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.
8 Kanefa ho mpanompony ihany izy, mba hahafantarany ny fanompoana Ahy sy ny fanompoana any amin’ ny fanjakana hafa.
Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.
9 Dia niakatra Sisaka, mpanjakan’ i Egypta, hamely an’ i Jerosalema ka namabo ny rakitry ny tranon’ i Jehovah sy ny rakitry ny tranon’ ny mpanjaka: samy nobaboiny avokoa izy rehetra; ary nobaboiny koa ny ampinga volamena izay nataon’ i Solomona.
So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house; he took all: he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
10 Ary Rehoboama mpanjaka nanao ampinga varahina ho solon’ ireny ka nanolotra azy ho eo an-tànan’ ny lehiben’ ny mpiambina, izay niambina ny varavaran’ ny tranon’ ny mpanjaka.
Instead of which, king Rehoboam made shields of brass, and committed [them] to the hands of the chief of the guard, that kept the entrance of the king's house.
11 Ary na oviana na oviana no nidiran’ ny mpanjaka tao an-tranon’ i Jehovah, dia avy ny mpiambina naka ireo ka namerina azy ho ao an-tranon’ ny mpiambina indray.
And when the king entered into the house of the LORD, the guard came and conveyed them, and brought them again into the guard-chamber.
12 Ary raha nanetry tena izy, dia niala taminy ny fahatezeran’ i Jehovah ka tsy nahalany ringana azy; sady nisy fahatsaram-panahy koa tamin’ ny Joda.
And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy [him] altogether: and also in Judah things went well.
13 Ary Rehoboama mpanjaka dia nitombo hery tany Jerosalema, ka dia nanjaka; iraika amby efa-polo taona izy, fony vao nanjaka, ary fito ambin’ ny folo taona no nanjakany tany Jerosalema, ilay tanana nofidin’ i Jehovah tamin’ ny firenen’ Isiraely rehetra hampitoerany ny anarany. Ary ny anaran-dreniny dia Nama Amonita.
So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam [was] one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother's name [was] Naamah an Ammonitess.
14 Ary nanao ratsy izy, satria tsy nampiomana ny fony hitady an’ i Jehovah.
And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD.
15 Ary ny tantaran-dRehoboama, na ny voalohany na ny farany, tsy efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ i Semaia mpaminany sy Ido mpahita ny amin’ ny firazanana va izany? Ary niady mandrakariva Rehoboama sy Jeroboama.
Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, [are] they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer, concerning genealogies? And [there were] wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
16 Ary Rehoboama lasa nodimandry any amin’ ny razany, dia nalevina tao an-Tanànan’ i Davida izy; ary Abia zanany no nanjaka nandimby azy.
And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Abijah his son reigned in his stead.
