< 2 Tantara 11 >
1 Ary nony tonga tany Jerosalema Rehoboama, dia novoriny ny taranak’ i Joda sy Benjamina, dia miaramila valo alina amby iray hetsy voafantina, hiady amin’ ny Isiraely hampody ny fanjakana ho an-dRehoboama.
When Rehoboam had come to Jerusalem, he assembled the house of Judah and Benjamin, one hundred and eighty thousand chosen men who were warriors, to fight against Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.
2 Kanjo kosa ny tenin’ i Jehovah tonga tamin’ i Semaia, lehilahin’ Andriamanitra, ka nanao hoe:
But the LORD’s word came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
3 Mitenena amin-dRehoboama, zanak’ i Solomona, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, sy amin’ ny Isiraely rehetra amin’ ny Joda sy ny Benjamina hoe:
“Speak to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
4 Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah: Aza mandeha hiady amin’ ny rahalahinareo, fa samia mody any an-tranony avy ianareo, fa avy amiko izao zavatra izao. Ary nihaino ny tenin’ i Jehovah ny olona, ka dia samy lasa nody, fa tsy nandeha hamely an’ i Jeroboama.
‘The LORD says, “You shall not go up, nor fight against your brothers! Every man return to his house; for this thing is of me.”’” So they listened to the LORD’s words, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
5 Ary Rehoboama nitoetra tany Jerosalema ka nanamboatra tanàna mimanda tany Joda.
Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.
6 Ny namboariny dia izao: Betlehema sy Etama sy Tekoa
He built Bethlehem, Etam, Tekoa,
7 sy Beti-zora sy Soko sy Adolama
Beth Zur, Soco, Adullam,
8 sy Gata sy Maresa sy Zifa
Gath, Mareshah, Ziph,
9 sy Adoraima sy Lakisy sy Azeka
Adoraim, Lachish, Azekah,
10 sy Zora sy Aialona ary Hebrona, izay tanàna mimanda ao amin’ ny Joda sy ny Benjamina.
Zorah, Aijalon, and Hebron, which are fortified cities in Judah and in Benjamin.
11 Ary nanamafy ny tanàna mimanda izy sady nametraka mpanapaka tao aminy ary nanisy hanina sy diloilo ary divay betsaka.
He fortified the strongholds and put captains in them with stores of food, oil and wine.
12 Ary tamin’ ny isam-bohitra dia nasiany ampinga lehibe sy lefona avokoa, sady nohamafiny dia nohamafiny ny vohitra; ary ny Joda sy ny Benjamina no nomba azy.
He put shields and spears in every city, and made them exceedingly strong. Judah and Benjamin belonged to him.
13 Ary ny mpisorona sy ny Levita izay teo amin’ ny Isiraely rehetra dia nanatona azy avy tany amin’ ny fari-taniny avy.
The priests and the Levites who were in all Israel stood with him out of all their territory.
14 Fa ny Levita nandao ny tanànany sy ny tany manodidina azy ka nankany Joda sy Jerosalema (fa Jeroboama sy ny zanany efa nanaisotra azy tsy ho mpisorona ho an’ i Jehovah,
For the Levites left their pasture lands and their possessions, and came to Judah and Jerusalem; for Jeroboam and his sons cast them off, that they should not execute the priest’s office to the LORD.
15 fa nanendry mpisorona ho amin’ ny fitoerana avo sy ho an’ ny Seïrima ary ho an’ ny ombilahy kely izay nataony).
He himself appointed priests for the high places, for the male goat and calf idols which he had made.
16 Ary na iza na iza tamin’ ny firenen’ Isiraely rehetra no nanolotra ny fony hitady an’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, dia nanaraka ireo nankany Jerosalema hamono zavatra hatao fanatitra ho an’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny razany.
After them, out of all the tribes of Israel, those who set their hearts to seek the LORD, the God of Israel, came to Jerusalem to sacrifice to the LORD, the God of their fathers.
17 Ka dia nampahery ny fanjakan’ ny Joda izy sady nampahavitrika an-dRehoboama, zanak’ i Solomona, telo taona; fa nandeha tamin’ ny lalan’ i Davida sy Solomona telo taona izy.
So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong for three years, for they walked three years in the way of David and Solomon.
18 Ary Rehoboama naka an’ i Mahalota, zanakavavin’ i Jerimota, zanak’ i Davida, sy Abihaila, zanakavavin’ i Eliaba, zanak’ i Jese, ho vadiny,
Rehoboam took a wife for himself, Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David and of Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse.
19 izay nahazoany zaza, dia Jeosy sy Semaria ary Zahama.
She bore him sons: Jeush, Shemariah, and Zaham.
20 Ary nanarakaraka azy, dia nalainy koa Imaka, zanakavavin’ i Absaloma, izay niteraka an’ i Abia sy Atahy sy Ziza ary Selomita taminy.
After her, he took Maacah the granddaughter of Absalom; and she bore him Abijah, Attai, Ziza, and Shelomith.
21 Ary Rehoboama tia an’ Imaka, zanakavavin’ i Absaloma, mihoatra noho ny vadiny sy ny vaditsindranony rehetra (fa naka vady valo ambin’ ny folo sy vaditsindrano enim-polo izy ka niteraka lahy valo amby roa-polo sy vavy enim-polo).
Rehoboam loved Maacah the granddaughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines; for he took eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and became the father of twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.
22 Ary Abia, zanakalahin’ Imaka, no nataon-dRehoboama lohany ho mpanapaka ny rahalahiny; fa izy no efa nokasainy hampanjakaina.
Rehoboam appointed Abijah the son of Maacah to be chief, the prince amongst his brothers, for he intended to make him king.
23 Ary hendry izy ka nampiely ny zanany eran’ ny tanin’ ny Joda sy ny Benjamina rehetra, dia tany amin’ ny tanàna mimanda rehetra, ka nomeny hanina betsaka sady nitadiavany vady maro.
He dealt wisely, and dispersed some of his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, to every fortified city. He gave them food in abundance; and he sought many wives for them.
