1 Paoly sy Silasy ary Timoty mamangy ny fiangonan’ ny Tesaloniana, izay ao amin’ Andriamanitra Ray sy Jesosy Kristy Tompo: ho aminareo anie ny fahasoavana sy ny fiadanana.

Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace.

2 Misaotra an’ Andriamanitra mandrakariva izahay ny aminareo rehetra ka manonona anareo amin’ ny fivavahanay,

We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention [of you] in our prayers;

3 sady tsy mitsahatra mahatsiaro ny asanareo amin’ ny finoana sy ny fikelezanareo aina amin’ ny fitiavana ary ny faharetanareo amin’ ny fanantenana an i Jesosy Kristy Tompontsika eo imason’ Andriamanitra Raintsika;

remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labour of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father;

4 fa fantatray, ry rahalahy malalan’ Andriamanitra, ny fifidianana anareo,

knowing, brethren beloved of God, your election,

5 fa ny filazantsaranay tsy tonga teo aminareo tamin’ ny teny ihany, fa tamin’ ny hery koa sy ny Fanahy Masìna ary ny fahatokiana be, araka ny ahafantaranareo izay toetry ny fitondran-tenanay teo aminareo noho ny aminareo.

how that our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and [in] much assurance; even as ye know what manner of men we shewed ourselves toward you for your sake.

6 Ary ianareo efa nanahaka anay sy ny Tompo, satria nandray ny teny tamin’ ny fahoriana be mbamin’ ny hafaliana avy amin’ ny Fanahy Masìna,

And ye became imitators of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost;

7 ka dia tonga fianarana ho an’ ny mino rehetra any Makedonia sy Akaia ianareo.

so that ye became an ensample to all that believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.

8 Fa avy taminareo no nanenoan’ ny tenin’ ny Tompo, tsy tany Makedonia sy Akaia ihany, fa teny tontolo eny no nielezan’ ny lazan’ ny finoanareo an’ Andriamanitra, ka dia tsy misy holazainay intsony.

For from you hath sounded forth the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith to God-ward is gone forth; so that we need not to speak anything.

9 Fa ireny ihany no milaza ny aminay, dia izay fidirana azonay ho atỳ aminareo sy ny nialanareo tamin’ ny sampy hiverenana amin’ Andriamanitra mba hanompo an’ Andriamanitra velona sy marina,

For they themselves report concerning us what manner of entering in we had unto you; and how ye turned unto God from idols, to serve a living and true God,

10 ary mba hiandry ny Zanany avy any an-danitra, Izay natsangany tamin’ ny maty, dia Jesosy, izay Mpanafaka antsika amin’ ny fahatezerana ho avy.

and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, [even] Jesus, which delivereth us from the wrath to come.
