1 Tesaloniana 5
1 Fa ny amin’ ny andro sy ny fotoana, ry rahalahy, dia tsy misy tokony hosoratako aminareo,
Now as to the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.
2 satria ianareo mahalala marimarina fa ho avy toy ny mpangalatra amin’ ny alina ny andron’ ny Tompo.
You yourselves know perfectly that the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night.
3 Raha misy olona manao hoe: Miadana sy mandry fahizay, dia hanjo azy tampoka ny fandringanana, toy ny fahararian’ ny vehivavy raha miteraka, ka tsy ho afa-mandositra mihitsy izy.
While men are saying "Peace and safety," then, like birth-pangs upon a woman with child, destruction will come upon them suddenly. In no wise will they escape.
4 Fa ianareo, ry rahalahy, tsy ao amin’ ny maizina, mba hahatratra anareo toy ny mpangalatra izany andro izany.
But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that "the Day" should come upon you like a bandit.
5 Fa ianareo rehetra dia zanaky ny mazava sy zanaky ny andro; tsy an’ ny alina na an’ ny maizina isika.
For you are all sons of light, and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness.
6 Koa dia aza mba matory toy ny sasany isika, fa aoka hiambina ka hahonon-tena.
So then let us not be sleeping as do the rest, but let us be watchful and self-controlled.
7 Fa izay matory dia matory amin’ ny alina; ary izay mamo dia mamo amin’ ny alina.
For those who are sleeping, sleep in the night, and those who are drunken, are drunken in the night.
8 Fa satria an’ ny andro isika, dia aoka hahonon-tena ka hitafy ny finoana sy ny fitiavana ho fiarovan-tratra, ary ny fanantenana ny famonjena ho fiarovan-doha.
But let us who are of the day be self-controlled, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 Fa Andriamanitra tsy nanendry antsika ho amin’ ny fahatezerana, fa mba hahazo famonjena amin’ ny alalan’ i Jesosy Kristy Tompontsika,
For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to win salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
10 Izay maty hamonjy antsika, mba hiara-belona aminy isika, na mahatsiaro na matory.
He died for us, in order that whether we are keeping vigil in life or sleeping in death we may ever be living together with him.
11 Koa mifananara sy mifampahatanjaha, tahaka ny ataonareo ihany.
So comfort one another, and try to build one another up, as indeed you are doing.
12 Ary mangataka aminareo izahay, ry rahalahy, mba hekenareo izay mikely aina eo aminareo sy mitondra anareo amin’ ny Tompo ary mananatra anareo,
I entreat you, brothers, to acknowledge those who are toiling among you and are your leaders in the Lord, and give you counsel.
13 ary mba hohajainareo indrindra amin’ ny fitiavana izy noho ny asany. Mihavàna tsara.
Esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Live in peace among yourselves.
14 Ary mananatra anareo izahay, ry rahalahy; anaro izay tsy mitoetra tsara; omeo toky ny malemy saina; ampaherezo ny reraka; mandefera amin’ ny olona rehetra.
And, brothers, we urge you to admonish the disorderly, comfort the faint-hearted, sustain the weak, lose patience with none.
15 Tandremo mba tsy hisy hamaly ratsy olona; fa miezaha mandrakariva hitady izay tsara, na amin’ ny namanareo na amin’ ny olona rehetra.
Take care that none of you ever return evil for evil, but always pursue what is kind to one another and to all.
16 Mifalia mandrakariva.
Always be joyful.
17 Mivavaha, ka aza mitsahatra.
Pray without ceasing.
18 Misaora amin’ ny zavatra rehetra; fa izany no sitrapon’ Andriamanitra ao amin’ i Kristy Jesosy ho anareo.
Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
19 Aza mamono ny Fanahy.
Quench not the Spirit.
20 Aza manao tsinontsinona ny faminaniana.
Do not despise prophesyings.
21 Fantaro ny zavatra rehetra; hazòny mafy izay tsara.
But try all, holding fast to the good.
22 Fadio ny fanao ratsy rehetra.
Hold aloof from every form of evil.
23 Ary Andriamanitry ny fiadanana anie hahamasina anareo samy ho tanteraka, ka aoka harovana avokoa ny fanahinareo sy ny ainareo ary ny tenanareo ho tanteraka ka tsy hanan-tsiny amin’ ny fihavian’ i Jesosy Kristy Tompontsika.
May the God of peace consecrate you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept altogether faultless until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Mahatoky Izay miantso anareo, sady Izy ihany no hanefa izany.
He who calls you is faithful; he will fulfil my prayer.
25 Ry rahalahy, mivavaha ho anay.
Brothers, pray for me.
26 Manaova veloma ny rahalahy rehetra amin’ ny fanorohana masìna.
Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
27 Mampianiana anareo amin’ ny Tompo aho mba hovakina amin’ ny rahalahy rehetra ity epistily ity.
I adjure you, in the name of the Lord, to have this letter read to all the brothers.
28 Ho aminareo anie ny fahasoavan’ i Jesosy Kristy Tompontsika.
