< 1 Samoela 7 >

1 Dia tonga teo ny mponina tao Kiriata-jearima ka nitondra ny fiaran’ i Jehovah niakatra, dia nitondra azy ho ao an-tranon’ i Abinadaba teo an-kavoana, ary nanamasina an’ i Eleazara zanany mba hitandrina ny fiaran’ i Jehovah izy.
So the men of Kiriath-jearim came and took the ark of the Lord to the house of Abinadab in Gibeah, and they made his son Eleazar holy and put the ark in his care.
2 Ary hatramin’ izany andro izany dia nitoetra ela tany Kiriata-jearima ny fiaran’ i Jehovah, dia roa-polo taona; ary ny taranak’ Isiraely rehetra nalahelo an’ i Jehovah.
And the ark was in Kiriath-jearim for a long time, as much as twenty years: and all Israel was searching after the Lord with weeping.
3 Ary hoy Samoela tamin’ ny taranak’ Isiraely rehetra: Raha miverina amin’ i Jehovah amin’ ny fonareo rehetra tokoa ary ianareo, dia ario hiala aminareo ny andriamani-kafa sy ireo Astarta, ka ampiomany ny fonareo ho an’ i Jehovah, ary aoka Izy ihany no hotompoinareo, dia hamonjy anareo amin’ ny tanan’ ny Filistina Izy.
Then Samuel said to all Israel, If with all your hearts you would come back to the Lord, then put away all the strange gods and the Astartes from among you, and let your hearts be turned to the Lord, and be servants to him only: and he will make you safe from the hands of the Philistines.
4 Dia nanary ireo Bala sy Astarta ny Zanak’ Isiraely ka nanompo an’ i Jehovah irery ihany.
So the children of Israel gave up the worship of Baal and Astarte, and became worshippers of the Lord only.
5 Ary hoy Samoela: Vorio ny Isiraely rehetra ho any Mizpa, dia hivavaka amin’ i Jehovah ho anareo aho.
Then Samuel said, Let all Israel come to Mizpah and I will make prayer to the Lord for you.
6 Dia nivory tany Mizpa izy ary nanovo rano ka nandraraka izany teo anatrehan’ i Jehovah, sady nifady hanina tamin’ izany andro izany izy ka nanao hoe: Efa nanota tamin’ i Jehovah isika. Ary Samoela nitsara ny Zanak’ Isiraely tany Mizpa.
So they came together to Mizpah, and got water, draining it out before the Lord, and they took no food that day, and they said, We have done evil against the Lord. And Samuel was judge of the children of Israel in Mizpah.
7 Ary rehefa ren’ ny Filistina fa efa vory tany Mizpa ny Zanak’ Isiraely, dia niakatra hamely azy ireo andrianan’ ny Filistina. Ary nony nandre izany ny Zanak’ Isiraely, dia raiki-tahotra izy noho ny Filistina.
Now when the Philistines had news that the children of Israel had come together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And the children of Israel, hearing of it, were full of fear.
8 Dia hoy ny Zanak’ Isiraely tamin’ i Samoela: Aza mitsahatra mitaraina amin’ i Jehovah Andriamanitsika ho anay ianao, mba hamonjeny anay amin’ ny tanan’ ny Filistina.
And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Go on crying to the Lord our God for us to make us safe from the hands of the Philistines.
9 Dia naka zanak’ ondry mbola minono Samoela ka nanatitra azy ho fanatitra dorana ho an’ i Jehovah; dia nitaraina tamin’ i Jehovah ho an’ ny Isiraely Samoela, ary nihaino azy Jehovah.
And Samuel took a young lamb, offering all of it as a burned offering to the Lord; and Samuel made prayers to the Lord for Israel and the Lord gave him an answer.
10 Ary raha mbola nanatitra ny fanatitra dorana Samoela, dia nanatona ny Filistina hiady amin’ ny Isiraely; fa Jehovah nampikotrokorana mafy tamin’ ny Filistina tamin’ izany andro izany ka nampifanaritaka azy, dia resy teo anoloan’ ny Isiraely izy.
And while Samuel was offering the burned offering, the Philistines came near for the attack on Israel; but at the thunder of the Lord's voice that day the Philistines were overcome with fear, and they gave way before Israel.
11 Ary ny lehilahy amin’ ny Isiraely niala tany Mizpa, dia nanenjika ny Filistina ka namely azy mandra-pahatongany teo ambanin’ i Beti-kara.
And the men of Israel went out from Mizpah and went after the Philistines, attacking them till they came under Beth-car.
12 Ary Samoela naka vato ka nanorina azy teo anelanelan’ i Mizpa sy Sena, ary ny anarany nataony hoe Ebenezera; fa hoy izy: Efa novonjen’ i Jehovah isika hatramin’ izao.
Then Samuel took a stone and put it up between Mizpah and Jeshanah, naming it Eben-ezer, and saying, Up to now the Lord has been our help.
13 Dia resy ny Filistina ka tsy tafiditra teo anatin’ ny fari-tanin’ ny Isiraely intsony; ary ny tànan’ i Jehovah namely ny Filistina tamin’ ny andro rehetra niainan’ i Samoela.
So the Philistines were overcome, and did not come into the country of Israel again: and all the days of Samuel the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines.
14 Ary ny tanàna izay efa nalain’ ny Filistina tamin’ ny Isiraely dia azon’ ny Isiraely indray, hatrany Ekrona ka hatrany Gata; ary ny faritanin’ ireo dia nalain’ ny Isiraely tamin’ ny tanan’ ny Filistina koa. Ary nihavana ny Isiraely sy ny Amorita.
And the towns which the Philistines had taken were given back to Israel, from Ekron to Gath, and all the country round them Israel made free from the power of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
15 Ary Samoela nitsara ny Isiraely tamin’ ny andro rehetra niainany.
And Samuel was judge of Israel all the days of his life.
16 Ary nandeha isan-taona isan-taona izy nitety any Betela sy Gilgala ary Mizpa ka nitsara ny Isiraely teo amin’ ireo tanàna rehetra ireo.
From year to year he went in turn to Beth-el and Gilgal and Mizpah, judging Israel in all those places.
17 Dia niverina ho any Rama indray izy, fa tao ny tranony; ary nitsara ny Isiraely tao izy sady nanorina alitara tao ho an’ i Jehovah.
And his base was at Ramah, where his house was; there he was judge of Israel and there he made an altar to the Lord.
