1 Samoela 28
1 Ary tamin’ izany andro izany ny Filistina dia namory ny miaramilany hanafika ny Isiraely. Ary hoy Akisy tamin’ i Davida: Aoka ho fantatrao tsara fa hiara-mivoaka amiko hanafika ianao sy ny olonao.
And it came to pass in those days, that the Philistines gathered their armies together for warfare to fight with Israel. And Achish said to David, Know thou assuredly, that thou shall go out with me in the army, thou and thy men.
2 Ary hoy Davida tamin’ i Akisy: Amin’ izao dia ho fantatrao tokoa izay hain’ ny mpanomponao hatao. Ary hoy Akisy tamin’ i Davida: Noho izany dia hataoko mpiaro ny lohako mandrakizay ianao.
And David said to Achish, Therefore thou shall know what thy servant will do. And Achish said to David, Therefore I will make thee my chief bodyguard forever.

Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those who had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.

And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and encamped in Shunem. And Saul gathered all Israel together, and they encamped in Gilboa.

And when Saul saw the army of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart trembled greatly.
6 Ary Saoly dia nanontany tamin’ i Jehovah, fa Jehovah tsy namaly azy, na tamin’ ny nofy, na tamin’ ny Orima, na tamin’ ny mpaminany.
And when Saul inquired of Jehovah, Jehovah answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.
7 Ary hoy Saoly tamin’ ny mpanompony: Itadiavo vehivavy manao azy ho tsindrian-javatra aho hankanesako any hanontaniako aminy. Ary hoy ny mpanompony taminy: Indro, misy vehivavy manao azy ho tsindrian-javatra eo Andora.
Then Saul said to his servants, Seek me a woman who has a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and inquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman who has a familiar spirit at En-dor.
8 Dia nanova tarehy Saoly ka nitafy fitafiana hafa, dia nandeha izy sy ny olona roa lahy nanaraka azy ka tonga tao amin-dravehivavy nony alina; ary hoy izy: Masìna ianao, manaova fankatovana ho ahy amin’ ny zavatra manindry anao, ka ampiakaro ho etỳ amiko izay hotononiko aminao.
And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and went, he and two men with him. And they came to the woman by night, and he said, Divine to me, I pray thee, by the familiar spirit, and bring me up whomever I shall name to thee.
9 Ary hoy ravehivavy taminy: Indro, fantatrao izay nataon’ i Saoly, dia ny nandroahany ny manao azy ho tsindrian-javatra sy ny mpanao hatsarana hiala amin’ ny tany, ka nahoana ianao no mamandrika ny aiko hahafaty ahy?
And the woman said to him, Behold, thou know what Saul has done, how he has cut off those who have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land. Why then do thou lay a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
10 Ary Saoly nianiana tamin’ i Jehovah ka nanao taminy hoe: Raha velona koa Jehovah, dia tsy hisy heloka hahazo anao amin’ izao zavatra izao.
And Saul swore to her by Jehovah, saying, As Jehovah lives, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing.
11 Dia hoy ravehivavy: Iza ary no hampiakariko ho eto aminao? Ary hoy izy: Samoela no ampiakaro ho etỳ amiko.
Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up to thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.
12 Ary hitan-dravehivavy Samoela, dia nidradradradra tamin’ ny feo mafy izy ka nanao tamin’ i Saoly hoe: Nahoana no namitaka ahy ianao? fa ianao no Saoly.
And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice. And the woman spoke to Saul, saying, Why have thou deceived me? For thou are Saul.
13 Ary hoy ny mpanjaka taminy: Aza matahotra; fa inona no hitanao? Ary hoy ravehivavy tamin’ i Saoly: Andriamanitra miakatra avy amin’ ny tany no hitako.
And the king said to her, Be not afraid, for what do thou see? And the woman said to Saul, I see a god coming up out of the earth.
14 Ary hoy izy taminy: Manao ahoana no endriny? Dia hoy izy: Lehilahy antitra no miakatra sady mikapôty izy. Ary fantatr’ i Saoly fa Samoela izay, dia niondrika tamin’ ny tany izy ka niankohoka.
And he said to her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man comes up, and he is covered with a robe. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground, and did obeisance.
15 Ary hoy Samoela tamin’ i Saoly: Nahoana no korontaninao aho ka ampiakarinao? Dia hoy Saoly: Tery loatra aho, fa miady amiko ny Filistina, ary Andriamanitra efa nahafoy ahy ka tsy mamaly teny ahy intsony, na amin’ ny mpaminany, na amin’ ny nofy; koa izany no nampanalako anao mba hampahalalanao ahy izay hataoko.
And Samuel said to Saul, Why have thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am greatly distressed, for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answers me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams. Therefore I have called thee, that thou may make known to me what I shall do.

And Samuel said, Why then do thou ask of me, since Jehovah departed from thee, and has become thine adversary?
17 Fa Jehovah efa nanao ho Azy araka ny nampilazainy ahy; fa efa nendahany hiala amin’ ny tananao ny fanjakana ka nomeny an’ i Davida namanao.
And Jehovah has done to thee, as he spoke by me. And Jehovah has torn the kingdom out of thy hand, and given it to thy neighbor, even to David.
18 Satria tsy nihaino ny feon’ i Jehovah ianao ka tsy nahatanteraka ny fahatezerany mirehitra tamin’ ny Amalekita, dia izany no nanaovan’ i Jehovah izao zavatra izao taminao androany.
Because thou obeyed not the voice of Jehovah, and did not execute his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore Jehovah has done this thing to thee this day.
19 Ary hiaraka hatolotr’ i Jehovah ho eo an-tànan’ ny Filistina ny tenanao sy ny Isiraely; ary rahampitso dia ho etỳ amiko ianao sy ny zanakao; ary ny miaramilan’ ny Isiraely koa dia hatolotr’ i Jehovah eo an-tànan’ ny Filistina.
Moreover Jehovah will deliver Israel also with thee into the hand of the Philistines, and tomorrow thou and thy sons shall be with me. Jehovah will also deliver the army of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.
20 Dia lavo niampatra tamin’ ny tany niaraka tamin’ izay Saoly ka raiki-tahotra indrindra noho ny tenin’ i Samoela; sady efa tsy nisy hery intsony izy, satria tsy nihinan-kanina indray andro sy indray alina maninjitra.
Then Saul fell straightaway his full length upon the earth, and was greatly afraid because of the words of Samuel, and there was no strength in him, for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night.
21 Ary nankao amin’ i Saoly ravehivavy ka nahita azy ory indrindra, dia nanao taminy hoe: Indro, ny ankizivavinao nihaino ny feonao, dia nanao ny aiko tsy ho zavatra aho ka nihaino ny teninao izay nolazainao tamiko.
And the woman came to Saul, and saw that he was greatly troubled, and said to him, Behold, thy handmaid has hearkened to thy voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have hearkened to thy words which thou spoke to me.
22 Koa ankehitriny, masìna ianao, mba henoy kosa ny tenin’ ny ankizivavinao, ary aoka aho handroso sombin-kanina kely eo anoloanao; dia hano izany mba hahatanjaka anao, raha handeha amin’ ny alehanao ianao.
Now therefore, I pray thee, hearken thou also to the voice of thy handmaid, and let me set a morsel of bread before thee, and eat, that thou may have strength when thou go on thy way.
23 Fa tsy nety izy, fa hoy izy: Tsy hihinana aho. Fa ny mpanompony sy ravehivavy mbola nanery azy ihany, ka dia nihaino ny feony izy. Dia nitsangana izy ka nipetraka teo am-parafara.
But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants, together with the woman, constrained him, and he hearkened to their voice. So he arose from the ground, and sat upon the bed.
24 Ary ravehivavy nanana zanak’ omby mifahy tao an-trano; dia nandeha haingana izy ka namono izany, ary naka koba izy, dia nofetafetainy ka nendasiny ho mofo tsy misy masirasira.
And the woman had a fatted calf in the house. And she hastened, and killed it, and she took flour, and kneaded it, and baked unleavened bread of it.
25 Ary narosony teo anoloan’ i Saoly sy teo anoloan’ ny mpanompony izany; dia nihinana izy ireo, ary dia niainga ka lasa nandeha tamin’ iny alina iny ihany.
And she brought it before Saul, and before his servants, and they ate. Then they rose up, and went away that night.
