< 1 Samoela 21 >
1 Ary Davida tonga tany Noba, tany amin’ i Ahimeleka mpisorona; ary toran-kovitra Ahimeleka, raha nihaona tamin’ i Davida, ka nanao taminy hoe: Nahoana no mandeha irery ianao, fa tsy misy manaraka anao?
And David came to Nob, to Ahimelech the priest; and Ahimelech trembled at meeting David, and said to him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee?
2 Dia hoy Davida tamin’ i Ahimeleka mpisorona: Ny mpanjaka efa nanome raharaha ahy, ka hoy izy tamiko: Aoka tsy ho fantatr’ olona ny raharaha nanirahako sy nandidiako anao; ka dia nasaiko nankary ny zatovoko.
And David said to Ahimelech the priest, The king has commanded me a business, and has said to me, Let no man know anything of the business whereon I send thee, and what I have commanded thee; and I have directed the young men to such and such a place.
3 Koa inona no misy ato aminao? Omeo mofo dimy aho ho etỳ an-tanako, na izay misy.
And now what is under thy hand? give me five loaves in my hand, or what may be found.
4 Ary ny mpisorona namaly an’ i Davida hoe: Tsy misy mofo fihinana ato amiko, fa mofo masìna ihany no ato, ka raha mba nifady vehivavy ahay mantsy ny zatovo.
And the priest answered David and said, There is no common bread under my hand, but there is holy bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women.
5 Ary Davida namaly ny mpisorona ka nanao taminy hoe: Eny, fa hatramin’ ny hateloana efa tsy niara-nitoetra tamim-behivavy rahateo izahay; ary tamin’ izaho niainga dia masìna ny fanaky ny zatovo; ary na dia tsy masìna aza ny lalana, dia hohamasinina anio izy noho ny fanaka.
And David answered the priest and said to him, Yes indeed, women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the [bread] is in a manner common, and the more so, because to-day [new] is hallowed in the vessels.
6 Ary ny mpisorona nanome azy mofo masìna; fa tsy nisy mofo teo, afa-tsy ny mofo aseho, izay nalainy teo anatrehan’ i Jehovah, mba hasiana mofo mafana tamin’ ny andro nanesorana azy.
And the priest gave him holy [bread]; for there was no bread there but the shew-loaves that were taken from before Jehovah, to put on hot bread in the day when they were taken away.
7 (Nefa nisy anankiray tamin’ ny mpanompon’ i Saoly teo tamin’ izany andro izany, voahazona teo anatrehan’ i Jehovah, Doega Edomita no anarany; lehiben’ ny mpiandrin’ i Saoly izy.)
(Now a certain man of the servants of Saul was there that day, detained before Jehovah; and his name was Doeg, the Edomite, chief of the shepherds that [belonged] to Saul.)
8 Ary hoy Davida tamin’ i Ahimeleka: Tsy misy lefona na sabatra va eto aminao? fa izaho tsy nitondra ny sabatro na ny fiadiako etỳ amiko, satria nahamaika ny raharahan’ ny mpanjaka.
And David said to Ahimelech, And is there not here under thy hand spear or sword? for I have neither brought my sword nor my weapons with me, for the king's business was urgent.
9 Fa hoy ny mpisorona: Ny sabatr’ i Goliata Filistina, ilay novonoinao tao amin’ ny lohasaha Elaha, indro, fa mifono lamba ao ivohon’ ny efoda izy; ka raha iny no ho entinao, dia ento; fa tsy misy afa-tsy iny eto. Ary hoy Davida: Tsy misy tahaka iny, fa omeo ahy.
And the priest said, The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom thou slewest in the valley of terebinths, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod; if thou wilt take that, take it; for there is no other save that here. And David said, There is none like that: give it me.
10 Ary Davida niainga nandositra tamin’ izany andro izany mba tsy ho azon’ i Saoly, dia nankany amin’ i Akisy, mpanjakan’ i Gata.
And David arose, and fled that day from before Saul, and went to Achish the king of Gath.
11 Ary hoy ny mpanompon’ i Akisy taminy: Tsy ity moa no Davida, mpanjakan’ ny tany? Tsy izy va no nandihizany sy nifampihirany hoe: Saoly nahafaty arivoarivo, Fa Davida nahafaty alinalina?
And the servants of Achish said to him, Is not this David the king of the land? did they not sing one to another of him in dances, saying, Saul has smitten his thousands, and David his ten thousands?
12 Ary dia nalatsak’ i Davida tao am-pony izany teny izany, ka natahotra an’ i Akisy, mpanjakan’ i Gata, indrindra izy.
And David took to heart these words, and was much afraid of Achish the king of Gath.
13 Dia nody adala teo anatrehany izy ka nanao tahaka ny olona very saina teo aminy, fa nanoratsoratra teo amin’ ny lela-vavahady izy, sady navelany hitsororoka tamin’ ny somony ny iviny.
And he changed his behaviour before them, and feigned himself mad in their hands, and scratched on the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall down on his beard.
14 Ary hoy Akisy tamin’ ny mpanompony: He! hitanareo fa very saina io lehilahy io, ka nahoana no nentinareo etỳ amiko izy?
And Achish said to his servants, Behold, ye see the man is mad: why did ye bring him to me?
15 Izaho moa mitady olona very saina, no nitondranareo ity olona very saina ity mba hanondrana eto anatrehako? Moa hiditra ato an-tranoko va ilehio?
have I lack of madmen, that ye have brought this one to rave in my presence? shall this [man] come into my house?
