< 1 Petera 3 >
1 Ary toy izany koa, ianareo vehivavy, maneke ny vadinareo, mba ho voataonan’ ny fitondran-tenan’ ny vavy izy, na dia tsy amin’ ny teny aza (raha tàhiny misy tsy manaiky ny teny),
Likewise, you wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
2 rehefa hitany ny fahadiovan’ ny fitondran-tenanareo amin’ ny fahatahorana.
While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
3 Ary aoka ny firavahanareo tsy ho zavatra eny ivelany, toy ny firandranam-bolo sy ny firava-bolamena na ny fiakanjoana;
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 fa aoka ho toetra miafina ao am-po, izay tsy mety ho lò, dia ny fanahy malemy sady miadana, izay soa indrindra eo imason’ Andriamanitra.
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
5 Fa tahaka izany no niravahan’ ny vehivavy masìna fahiny, izay nanantena an’ Andriamanitra sady nanaiky ny vadiny;
For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands:
6 dia tahaka an’ i Saraha, izay nanaiky an’ i Abrahama ka nanao azy hoe “tompoko”; dia zanany ianareo, raha mba manao soa ka tsy matahotra izay fampitahorana na inona na inona.
Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters you are, as long as you do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
7 Ary toy izany koa, ianareo lehilahy, miaraha mitoetra aminy araka ny marina, manaja ny vavy, tahaka ny mety hatao amin’ ny fanaka malemilemy kokoa sady mpiara-mandova ny fahasoavan’ ny fiainana, ― mba tsy ho voasakana ny fivavahanareo.
Likewise, you husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Farany, miraisa saina ianareo rehetra, ka miaraha ory, mifankatiava tahaka ny mpirahalahy, mifamindrà fo, manetre tena,
Finally, be you all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brothers, be pitiful, be courteous:
9 tsy mamaly ratsy ny ratsy, na fanaratsiana ny fanaratsiana; fa aoka hisaotra kosa, satria ho amin’ izany no niantsoana anareo mba handova fitahiana.
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that you are thereunto called, that you should inherit a blessing.
10 “Fa na iza na iza maniry fiainana sy ta-hahita andro soa, Aoka izy hiaro ny lelany amin’ ny ratsy Ary ny molony mba tsy hiteny fitaka;
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
11 Ary aoka izy hiala amin’ ny ratsy ka hanao soa; Aoka izy hitady fihavanana sy hanaraka azy.
Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
12 Fa ny mason’ ny Tompo dia mitsinjo ny marina, Ary ny sofiny mihaino ny fitarainany, Fa ny tavan’ ny Tompo dia tezitra amin’ ny mpanao ratsy”.
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
13 Ary iza no hanisy ratsy anareo, raha mazoto amin’ izay tsara ianareo?
And who is he that will harm you, if you be followers of that which is good?
14 Fa raha tàhiny mitondra fahoriana noho ny fahamarinana ianareo, dia sambatra; ary aza matahotra tahaka azy, ary aza mangorohoro ianareo;
But and if you suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are you: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
15 fa manamasìna an i’ Kristy ho Tompo ao am-ponareo; ary aoka ho vonona mandrakariva ianareo hamaly izay manontany anareo ny amin’ ny anton’ ny fanantenana ao anatinareo, nefa amin’ ny fahalemem-panahy sy ny fanajana,
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
16 ka manàna fieritreretana tsara, mba ho menatra izay manaratsy ny fitondran-tenanareo tsara ao amin’ i Kristy, dia izay anendrikendrehana anareo.
Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
17 Fa raha sitrapon’ Andriamanitra, dia tsaratsara kokoa ny hitondra fahoriana amin’ ny fanaovan-tsoa noho ny amin’ ny fanaovan-dratsy.
For it is better, if the will of God be so, that you suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
18 Fa Kristy koa aza efa nijaly indray mandeha noho ny ota, ny Marina hamonjy ny tsy marina, mba hitondra antsika ho amin’ Andriamanitra, ka novonoina tamin’ ny nofo, fa novelomina tamin’ ny fanahy,
For Christ also has once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 izay nandehanany sy nitoriany teny tamin’ ireo fanahy tao an-tranomaizina,
By which also he went and preached to the spirits in prison;
20 dia izay tsy nanaiky fahiny, fony niandry ny fahari-pon’ Andriamanitra tamin’ ny andron’ i Noa, raha mbola namboarina ny sambo-fiara, izay nidiran’ ny olona vitsy, dia izy valo mianaka, ka dia namonjena azy ny rano,
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the long-suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
21 izay mamonjy anareo koa ankehitriny, dia ny batisa, izay tenan’ io tandindona io, ― tsy ny fanesorana ny fahalotoan’ ny nofo anefa, fa ny fitadiavana’ ny fieritreretana tsara eo anatrehan Andriamanitra, amin’ ny nitsanganan’ i Jesosy Kristy tamin’ ny maty.
The like figure to which even baptism does also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, ) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
22 Izay eo amin’ ny tanana ankavanan’ Andriamanitra; fa efa lasa ho any an-danitra Izy ka efa nampanekena Azy ny anjely sy ny fahefana ary ny hery.
Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.
