< 1 Mpanjaka 19 >
1 Dia nolazain’ i Ahaba tamin’ i Jezebela izay rehetra nataon’ i Elia, dia ny namonoany ny mpaminany rehetra tamin’ ny sabatra.
Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword.
2 Ary Jezebela naniraka olona tany amin’ i Elia hanao hoe: Hataon’ ireo andriamanitra amiko anie izany, eny, mihoatra noho izany aza, raha tsy hataoko toy ny ain’ ny anankiray amin’ ireny ny ainao raha maraina toy izao.
Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I don’t make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time!”
3 Ary raha nahita izany izy, dia niainga ka lasa nandeha hamonjy ny ainy dia nankany Beri-sheba, izay any Joda, ary ny zatovo najanony tao.
When he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
4 Fa izy kosa nandeha lalana indray andro tany an-efitra, ary tonga ka nipetraka teo ambanin’ ny anjavidy anankiray; dia nangataka ho faty izy ka nanao hoe: Aoka izay! alao ny aiko ankehitriny, Jehovah ô, fa tsy tsara noho ny razako aho.
But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree. Then he requested for himself that he might die, and said, “It is enough. Now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.”
5 Ary raha nandry natory teo ambanin’ ny anjavidy anankiray izy, indro, nisy anjely nanohina azy ka nanao taminy hoe. Miarena, ka homàna.
He lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and behold, an angel touched him, and said to him, “Arise and eat!”
6 Dia nijery izy, ka, indro, teo anilan’ ny lohany nisy mofo voaendy tamin’ ny vato mahamay sy rano iray tavoara; ary nihinana sy nisotro izy, dia nandry indray.
He looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on the coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank, and lay down again.
7 Ary avy fanindroany indray Ilay Anjelin’ i Jehovah, dia nanohina azy ka nanao hoe: Mitohaza, ka homàna, fa lavitra loatra ny halehanao.
The LORD’s angel came again the second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.”
8 Dia nifoha izy ka nihinana sy nisotro; ary nandeha tamin’ ny tanjaka azony tamin’ izany hanina izany efa-polo andro efa-polo alina izy ho any Horeba, tendrombohitr’ Andriamanitra.
He arose, and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, God’s Mountain.
9 Ary niditra tao anatin’ ny zohy izy ka nitoetra tao. Ary, indro, tonga taminy ny tenin’ i Jehovah nanao hoe: Manao inona atỳ ianao, ry Elia?
He came to a cave there, and camped there; and behold, the LORD’s word came to him, and he said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
10 Dia hoy izy: Nafana dia nafana ny foko noho ny fitiavako an’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny maro; fa ny Zanak’ Isiraely nahafoy ny fanekenao; ny alitaranao noravany, ny mpaminaninao novonoiny tamin’ ny sabatra, ary izaho dia izaho irery ihany no sisa, nefa mbola mitady hahafaty ny aiko koa izy.
He said, “I have been very jealous for the LORD, the God of Hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.”
11 Ary hoy Jehovah: Mivoaha, ka mitsangana eo ambonin’ ny tendrombohitra eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah. Ary, indro, nandalo Jehovah, ka nisy rivotra be sady mahery namakivaky ny tendrombohitra sy nanorotoro ny harambato teo alohan’ i Jehovah; nefa Jehovah tsy tao amin’ ny rivotra; ary manarakaraka ny rivotra nisy horohoron-tany; nefa Jehovah tsy tao amin’ ny horohoron-tany;
He said, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” Behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake.
12 ary manarakaraka ny horohorontany nisy afo; nefa Jehovah tsy tao amin’ ny afo; ary manarakaraka ny afo nisy feo nitsoka malemy.
After the earthquake a fire passed; but the LORD was not in the fire. After the fire, there was a still small voice.
13 Ary raha ren’ i Elia izany, dia nosaronany ny kapôtiny ny tavany, ary nivoaka izy ka nijanona teo am-bava-zohy. Ary, indro, nisy feo nankao aminy nanao hoe: Manao inona atỳ ianao ry Elia?
When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle, went out, and stood in the entrance of the cave. Behold, a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
14 Dia hoy izy: Nafana dia nafana ny foko noho ny fitiavako an’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny maro; fa ny Zanak’ Isiraely efa nahafoy ny fanekenao; ny alitaranao noravany, ary ny mpaminaninao novonoiny tamin’ ny sabatra, ary izaho dia izaho irery ihany no sisa, nefa mbola mitady hahafaty ny aiko koa izy.
He said, “I have been very jealous for the LORD, the God of Hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.”
15 Fa hoy Jehovah taminy: Mandehana, miverena amin’ ny nalehanao ho any amin’ ny efitr’ i Damaskosy; ary raha mby any ianao, dia hosory Hazaela ho mpanjakan’ i Syria;
The LORD said to him, “Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus. When you arrive, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria.
16 Ary Jeho, zanak’ i Nimsy, dia hosory ho mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely; ary Elisa, zanak’ i Safata, avy any Abela-mehola, dia hosory ho mpaminany handimby anao.
Anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi to be king over Israel; and anoint Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah to be prophet in your place.
17 Ary izay afa-mandositra ny sabatr’ i Hazaela dia hovonoin’ i Jeho; ary izay afa-mandositra ny sabatr’ i Jeho kosa dia hovonoin’ i Elisa.
He who escapes from the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and he who escapes from the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill.
18 Nefa hamela fito arivo ao amin’ ny Isiraely Aho, dia ny lohalika rehetra izay tsy nandohalika tamin’ i Bala sy ny vava rehetra izay tsy nanoroka azy.
Yet I reserved seven thousand in Israel, all the knees of which have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth which has not kissed him.”
19 Ary niala teo Elia ka nahita an’ i Elisa, zanak’ i Safata, izay nampiasa omby efatra amby roa-polo mikambana tsiroaroa avy, fa izy teo amin’ ny roa farany indrindra; ary Elia nandroso nanatona azy, dia nanipy ny kapôtiny hanarona azy.
So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth. Elijah went over to him and put his mantle on him.
20 Dia nandao ny omby izy ka nihazakazaka nanaraka an’ i Elia ary niteny hoe: Masìna ianao, avelao aho aloha hanoroka an’ ikaky sy ineny vao manaraka anao. Ary hoy izy taminy: Mandehana miverina, fa naninona anao moa aho?
Elisha left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Let me please kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” He said to him, “Go back again; for what have I done to you?”
21 Dia niverina niala taminy indray izy ka naka ny omby roa mikambana, dia namono azy, ary nandrahoiny tamin’ ny hazo fiasàn’ ny omby ny henany ka nomeny ny olona, dia nihinana ireo; ary niainga izy ka nanaraka an’ i Elia, dia nanompo azy.
He returned from following him, and took the yoke of oxen, killed them, and boiled their meat with the oxen’s equipment, and gave to the people; and they ate. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and served him.
