< 1 Mpanjaka 16 >
1 Ary tonga tamin’ i Jeho, zanak’ i Hanany, ny tenin’ i Jehovah ny amin i Basa nanao hoe:
Then this message from the Lord came to the prophet Jehu, son of Hanani, condemning Baasha.
2 Satria nasandratro avy tamin’ ny vovoka ianao ka notendreko ho mpanapaka ny Isiraely oloko; nefa kosa nandeha tamin’ ny lalan’ i Jeroboama ihany ianao ary nampanota ny Isiraely oloko ka nampahatezitra Ahy tamin’ ny fahotany,
“Even though I lifted you out of the dust to make you ruler over my people Israel, you have followed the way of Jeroboam and have made my people Israel sin, making me angry by their sins.
3 dia, indro, hofongorako Basa sy ny taranany, ary ny taranakao hataoko tahaka ny taranak’ Jeroboama, zanak’ i Nebata.
Now I'm going to destroy Baasha and his family. Baasha, I will make your family like that of Jeroboam, son of Nebat.
4 Koa izay tamingan’ i Basa maty ao an-tanàna dia hohanin’ ny alika; ary izay tamingany maty any an-tsaha dia hohanin’ ny voro-manidina.
Those of Baasha's family who die in the town will be eaten by dogs, and those who die in the countryside will be eaten by birds.”
5 Ary ny tantaran’ i Basa sisa mbamin’ izay nataony ary ny heriny, tsy efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny tantaran’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely va izany?
The rest of the events of Baasha's reign, everything that he did and what he accomplished, are recorded in the Book of Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
6 Ary Basa lasa nodimandry any amin’ ny razany, dia nalevina tao Tirza; ary Elaha zanany no nanjaka nandimby azy.
Baasha died and was buried in Tirzah. His son Elah succeeded him as king.
7 Ary Jeho mpaminany zanak’ i Hanany, dia nampitondraina ny tenin’ i Jehovah ny amin’ i Basa sy ny taranany, satria nanao ratsy teo imason’ i Jehovah ka nampahatezitra Azy tamin’ ny asan’ ny tanany, ka dia tonga tahaka ny mpianakavin’ i Jeroboama, ary satria namono ireo izy.
The message from the Lord condemning Baasha and his family came to the prophet Jehu, son of Hanani. It came because Baasha had done what was evil in the Lord's sight, in the same way as the family of Jeroboam had done, and also because Baasha had killed Jeroboam's family. The Lord was angry because of Baasha's sins.
8 Tamin’ ny taona fahenina amby roa-polo nanjakan’ i Asa, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, no vao nanjakan’ i Elaha, zanak’ i Basa, tamin’ ny Isiraely tao Tirza, ary nanjaka roa taona izy.
Elah, son of Baasha, became king of Israel in the twenty-sixth year of the reign of King Asa of Judah. He reigned in Tirzah for two years.
9 Ary Zimry mpanompony, komandin’ ny antsasaky ny kalesiny, nikomy taminy, raha nisotro ho mamo tao Tirza, tao an-tranon’ i Arza, lehiben’ ny tao an-dapa tao Tirza, izy.
One of Elah's officials called Zimri who was in charge of half his chariots plotted a rebellion against him. One time Elah was in Tirzah, getting himself drunk at the home of Arza, the palace manager at Tirzah.
10 Dia niditra Zimry ka namely an’ i Elaha ho faty tamin’ ny taona fahafito amby roa-polo nanjakan’ i Asa, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, ary izy no nanjaka nisolo azy.
Zimri went up to him, attacked him, and killed him. This was in the twenty-seventh year of the reign of Asa, king of Judah. Then he took over from him as king.
11 Ary nony vao nanjaka Zimry ka nipetraka tamin’ ny seza fiandrianany, dia namono ny mpianakavin’ i Basa rehetra izy; ka tsy navelany hisy miangana na dia lehilahy iray akory aza, na tamin’ ny havany, na tamin’ ny sakaizany.
As soon as he became king and was installed on his throne, he killed all of Baasha's family. He did not leave a single male alive, whether of his relatives or of his friends.
12 Toy izany no nandringanan’ i Zimry ny mpianakavin’ i Basa rehetra, araka ny tenin’ i Jehovah izay nampilazainy an’ i Jehovah mpaminany ny amin’ i Basa,
So Zimri destroyed the entire household of Baasha, as the Lord had said in his condemnation of Baasha through Jehu the prophet.
13 noho ny fahotany rehetra sy ny fahotan’ i Elaha zanany koa, izay nataony sady nampanotany ny Isiraely ka nampahatezitra an’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, tamin’ ny zava-poanany.
This was because of all the sins Baasha and his son Elah had committed and had made Israel to commit. Their worship of their useless idols had angered the Lord, the God of Israel.
14 Ary ny tantaran’ i Elaha sisa mbamin’ izay rehetra nataony, tsy efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny tantaran’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely va izany?
The rest of what happened in Elah's reign and everything that he did are recorded in the Book of Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
15 Tamin’ ny taona fahafito amby roa-polo nanjakan’ i Asa, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, no nanjakan’ i Zimry hafitoana tao Tirza. Ary ny olona nanao fahirano an’ i Gibetona, izay an’ ny Filistina.
Zimri became king of Israel in the twenty-seventh year of the reign of King Asa of Judah. He reigned in Tirzah seven days. At that time the Israelite army was attacking the Philistine town of Gibbethon.
16 Ary ny olona izay nitoby teo dia nandre hoe: Efa nikomy Zimry sady efa namono ny mpanjaka koa; ary ny Isiraely rehetra tany an-tobiny nampanjaka an’ i Omry, komandin’ ny miaramila, androtrizay ihany ho mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely.
When the troops who were camped there learned that Zimri had plotted rebellion against the king and had murdered him, they made Omri, the army commander, king of Israel that same day in the army camp.
17 Dia niakatra avy tao Gibetona Omry sy ny Isiraely rehetra niaraka taminy, ka dia nanao fahirano an’ i Tirza.
Omri and the whole Israelite army left Gibbethon and went and besieged Tirzah.
18 Ary nony hitan’ i Zimry fa afaka ny tanana, dia lasa niditra tao amin’ ny trano avo amin’ ny lapa izy, ary nodorany tamin’ ny afo ny lapa, ka may tao izy, dia maty
When Zimri saw that the city had been taken he went into the fortress of the royal palace and set it on fire around him, and he died, because of the sins he had committed.
19 noho ny fahotana izay nataony tamin’ ny nanaovany izay ratsy eo imason’ i Jehovah, tamin’ ny nandehanany tamin’ ny lalan’ i Jeroboama sy tamin’ ny fahotana izay nataony sady nampanotany ny Isiraely.
He did evil in the Lord's sight and followed the way of Jeroboam and his sin which he had made Israel commit.
20 Ary ny tantaran’ i Zimry sisa mbamin’ ny fikomiany, tsy efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny tantaran’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely va izany?
The rest of what happened in Zimri's reign and his rebellion are recorded in the Book of Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
21 Ary tamin’ izany dia nizara roa ny lehilahy amin’ ny Isiraely: ny antsasany nomba an i Tibny, zanak’ i Ginata, hampanjaka azy; ary ny antsasany kosa nomba an’ i Omry.
After this the people of Israel were divided. Half supported Tibni, son of Ginath, as king, while the other half supported Omri.
22 Fa ny olona izay nomba an’ i Omry naharesy ny olona izay nomba an’ i Tibny, zanak’ i Ginata; ka dia maty Tibny, ary Omry no nanjaka.
However, those on Omri's side defeated Tibni's supporters. Tibni was killed and Omri became king.
23 Tamin’ ny taona fahiraika amby telo-polo nanjakan’ i Asa, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, no vao nanjakan’ i Omry; ary nanjaka roa ambin’ ny folo taona tamin’ ny Isiraely izy; tao Tirza no nanjakany enin-taona.
Omri became king of Israel in the thirty-first year of the reign of King Asa of Judah. He reigned for a total of twelve years, (six of them were in Tirzah).
24 Ary novidiny talenta volafotsy roa tamin’ i Samera ny havoan’ i Samaria, dia nanao tanàna teo an-tampon’ ny havoana izy, ary nataony hoe Samaria, araka ny anaran’ i Samera, tompon’ ny havoana, ny anaran’ ny tanàna.
He purchased the hill of Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver. He fortified the hill, and named the city that he built Samaria, after Shemer, the previous owner of the hill.
25 Fa Omry nanao izay ratsy eo imason’ i Jehovah; eny, nanao ratsy mihoatra noho izay rehetra teo alohany izy;
Omri did what was evil in the Lord's sight—in fact he did more evil than those who lived before him.
26 fa nandeha tamin’ ny lalana rehetra nalehan’ i Jeroboama, zanak’ i Nebata, sy tamin’ ny fahotana izay nampanotany ny Isiraely izy ka nampahatezitra an’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, tamin’ ny zava-poanany.
For he followed all the ways of Jeroboam, son of Nebat, and in his sins which he made Israel commit, worshiping their useless idols which angered the Lord, the God of Israel.
27 Ary ny tantaran’ i Omry sisa mbamin’ izay nataony sy ny heriny izay nasehony, tsy efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny tantaran’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely va izany?
The rest of what happened in Omri's reign, what he did, and his achievements are recorded in the Book of Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
28 Ary Omry lasa nodi-mandry any amin’ ny razany, dia nalevina tao Samaria izy; ary Ahaba zanany no nanjaka nandimby azy.
Omri died and was buried in Samaria. His son Ahab succeeded him as king.
29 Ary Ahaba, zanak’ i Omry, vao nanjaka tamin’ ny Isiraely tamin’ ny taona fahavalo amby telo-polo nanjakan’ i Asa, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, ary nanjaka tamin’ ny Isiraely tao Samaria roa amby roa-polo Taona izy.
Ahab, son of Omri, became king of Israel in the thirty-eighth year of the reign of King Asa of Judah. He reigned in Samaria for twenty-two years.
30 Ary Ahaba, zanak’ i Omry, nanao izay ratsy eo imason’ i Jehovah mihoatra noho izay rehetra teo alohany.
Ahab, son of Omri, did evil in the Lord's sight, more than those who lived before him.
31 Fa nataony ho zavatra kely foana ny handeha amin’ ny fahotan’ i Jeroboama, zanak’ i Nebata, ka dia nampakatra an’ i Jezebela, zanakavavin’ i Etibala, mpanjakan’ ny Sidoniana, izy ho vadiny, dia nandeha nanompo an’ i Bala ka niankohoka teo anatrehany.
He didn't see anything to worry about in following the sins of Jeroboam, son of Nebat, and he even married Jezebel, daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians, and started to serve and worship Baal.
32 Ary nanao alitara ho an’ i Bala tao amin’ ny tranon’ i Bala izay nataony tao Samaria izy.
Ahab made an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal that he had built in Samaria.
33 Ary Ahaba nanao ny Aseraha ka nampahatezitra an’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, mihoatra noho ny mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely rehetra izay teo alohany.
Then he put up an Asherah pole. In this way Ahab did more to anger the Lord, the God of Israel, than all the kings of Israel before him.
34 Tamin’ ny andron’ i Ahaba no nanorenan’ i Hiela Betelita an’ i Jeriko; ny ain’ i Abìrama lahimatoany no sazin’ ny nanorenany ny fanambaniny, ary ny ain’ i Segoba faralahiny no sazin’ ny nananganany ny vavahadiny, araka ny tenin’ i Jehovah izay nampilazainy an’ i Josoa, zanak’ i Nona.
During Ahab's reign Hiel of Bethel rebuilt Jericho. He sacrificed Abiram his firstborn son when he laid its foundation, and sacrificed Segub his youngest son when he constructed its gates. This fulfilled the message the Lord had given through Joshua, son of Nun.
