< 1 Mpanjaka 15 >
1 Ary tamin’ ny taona fahavalo ambin’ ny folo nanjakan’ i Jeroboama, zanak’ i Nebata, no vao nanjakan’ i Abia tamin’ ny Joda.
Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, Abijam became king over Judah.
2 Telo taona no nanjakany tany Jerosalema. Ary ny anaran-dreniny dia Imaka, zanakavavin’ i Absaloma.
For three years he was king in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Maacah, the daughter of Abishalom.
3 Ary nandeha tamin’ ny fahotana rehetra nataon-drainy izy, dia izay nataony teo alohany; ary ny fony tsy mba nahitsy tamin’ i Jehovah Andriamaniny tahaka ny fon’ i Davida rainy.
And he did the same sins which his father had done before him: his heart was not completely true to the Lord his God, like the heart of David his father.
4 Nefa noho ny amin’ i Davida dia nomen’ i Jehovah Andriamaniny fanilo tany Jerosalema ihany izy, fa natsangany handimby azy ny zanany, sady nampaharitra an’ i Jerosalema Izy,
But because of David, the Lord gave him a light in Jerusalem, making his sons king after him, so that Jerusalem might be safe;
5 satria Davida nanao izay mahitsy eo imason’ i Jehovah ka tsy nivily niala tamin’ izay nandidiany azy tamin’ ny andro rehetra niainany, afa-tsy ilay tamin’ i Oria Hetita ihany.
Because David did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, and never in all his life went against his orders, but only in the question of Uriah the Hittite.
6 Ary niady Rehoboama sy Jeroboama tamin’ ny andro rehetra niainany.
7 Ary ny tantaran’ i Abia sisa mbamin’ izay rehetra nataony, tsy voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny tantaran’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Joda va izany? Ary niady Abia sy Jeroboama
Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all he did, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
8 Ary Abia lasa nodi-mandry any amin’ ny razany, dia nalevina tao an-Tanànan’ i Davida izy; ary Asa zanany no nanjaka nandimby azy.
Then Abijam went to rest with his fathers, and they put him into the earth in the town of David: and Asa his son became king in his place.
9 Ary tamin’ ny taona faharoa-polo nanjakan’ i Jeroboama, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, no vao nanjakan’ i Asa tamin’ ny Joda.
In the twentieth year that Jeroboam was king of Israel, Asa became king over Judah.
10 Ary iraika amby efa-polo taona no nanjakany tany Jerosalema. Ary ny anaran-dreniny dia Imaka, zanakavavin’ i Absaloma.
And he was king for forty-one years in Jerusalem; his mother's name was Maacah, the daughter of Abishalom.
11 Ary Asa nanao izay mahitsy eo imason’ i Jehovah toy ny nataon’ i Davida rainy.
Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as David his father did.
12 Fa nesoriny tamin’ ny tany ny olona izay nanolotena hijangajanga ho fanompoan-tsampy, sady nariany ny sampy rehetra izay nataon-drainy.
Those used for sex purposes in the worship of the gods he sent out of the country, and he took away all the images which his fathers had made.
13 Ary na dia Imaka reniny aza dia naetriny tsy ho andriambavy, satria efa nanao sampy ho an’ ny Aseraha; ary Asa nikapa ny sampiny ka nandoro azy tao an-dohasahan-driaka Kidrona.
And he would not let Maacah his mother be queen, because she had made a disgusting image for Asherah; and Asa had the image cut down and burned by the stream Kidron.
14 Fa ny fitoerana avo tsy mba noravana; nefa nahitsy teo imason’ i Jehovah ny fon’ i Asa tamin’ ny andro rehetra niainany.
The high places, however, were not taken away: but still the heart of Asa was true to the Lord all his life.
15 Ary nampidiriny ho ao an-tranon’ i Jehovah ny zavatra izay nohamasinin-drainy mbamin’ izay nohamasinin’ ny tenany, dia volafotsy sy volamena ary fanaka.
He took into the house of the Lord all the things which his father had made holy, and those which he himself had made holy, silver and gold and vessels.
16 Ary niady Asa sy Basa, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, tamin’ ny andro rehetra niainany.
Now there was war between Asa and Baasha, king of Israel, all their days.
17 Ary Basa, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, niakatra hamely ny Joda, dia nanamboatra an’ i Rama mba tsy hisy hahazo hivoaka sy hiditra ho any amin’ i Asa, mpanjakan’ ny Joda.
And Baasha, king of Israel, went up against Judah, building Ramah, so that no one was able to go out or in to Asa, king of Judah.
18 Ary Asa naka ny volafotsy sy ny volamena rehetra izay sisa tamin’ ny rakitry ny tranon’ i Jehovah sy tamin’ ny rakitry ny tranon ny mpanjaka, ka natolony teo an-tànan’ ny mpanompony; ary Asa mpanjaka nampanatitra azy tany amin’ i Beni-hadada, zanak’ i Tabrimona, zanak’ i Heziona, mpanjakan’ i Syria, izay nonina tao Damaskosy, ka nanao hoe:
Then Asa took all the silver and gold which was still stored in the Lord's house, and in the king's house, and sent them, in the care of his servants, to Ben-hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Rezon, king of Aram, at Damascus, saying,
19 Aoka hisy fanekena amiko sy aminao toy ny tamin’ ny raiko sy ny rainao; koa, indro, mampanatitra volafotsy sy volamena ho fanomezana ho anao aho; andeha, tsoahy ny fanekenao tamin’ i Basa, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, mba hialany amiko.
Let there be an agreement between me and you as there was between my father and your father: see, I have sent you an offering of silver and gold; go and put an end to your agreement with Baasha, king of Israel, so that he may give up attacking me.
20 Ary Beni-hadada nihaino an’ i Asa mpanjaka ka naniraka komandin’ ny miaramilany hamely ny tanànan’ ny Isiraely, ary namely an’ Iona sy Dana sy Abela-beti-maka ary Kinerota rehetra mbamin’ ny tanin’ ny Naftaly rehetra izy.
So Ben-hadad did as King Asa said, and sent the captains of his armies against the towns of Israel, attacking Ijon and Dan and Abel-beth-maacah, and all Chinneroth as far as all the land of Naphtali.
21 Ary rehefa ren’ i Basa izany, dia nitsahatra tsy nanamboatra an’ i Rama intsony izy sady nitoetra tao Tirza.
And Baasha, hearing of it, put a stop to the building of Ramah, and was living in Tirzah.
22 Ary Asa mpanjaka kosa nampandre ny Joda rehetra (tsy nisy tsy nampandrenesiny); ary dia nesorin’ ny olona ny vato sy ny hazo tao Rama, izay naorin’ i Basa; ary nentin’ i Asa mpanjaka nanamboatra an’ i Geban’ i Benjamina sy Mizpa kosa izany.
Then King Asa got all Judah together, making every man come; and they took away the stones and the wood with which Baasha was building Ramah, and King Asa made use of them for building Geba in the land of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
23 Ary ny tantaran’ i Asa sisa rehetra sy ny heriny rehetra mbamin’ izay rehetra nataony ary ny tanàna izay nataony, tsy voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny tantaran’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Joda va izany? Nefa kosa tamin’ ny andro fahanterany dia narary tamin’ ny tongony izy.
Now the rest of the acts of Asa, and his power, and all he did, and the towns of which he was the builder, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Judah? But when he was old he had a disease of the feet.
24 Ary lasa nodimandry any amin’ ny razany, dia nalevina tao amin’ ny razany tao an-Tanànan’ i Davida rainy izy; ary Josafata zanany no nanjaka nandimby azy.
So Asa went to rest with his fathers and was put into the earth in the town of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son became king in his place.
25 Ary Nadaba, zanak’ i Jeroboama, vao nanjaka tamin’ ny Isiraely tamin’ ny taona faharoa nanjakan’ i Asa, mpanjakan’ ny Joda; ary nanjaka roa taona tamin’ ny Isiraely izy.
Nadab, the son of Jeroboam, became king over Israel in the second year that Asa was king of Judah; and he was king of Israel for two years.
26 Ary nanao izay ratsy eo imason’ i Jehovah izy, fa nandeha tamin’ ny lalan-drainy sy tamin’ ny fahotany izay nampanotany ny Isiraely.
He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, copying the evil ways of his father, and the sin which he did and made Israel do.
27 Ary Basa, zanak’ i Ahia, amin’ ny taranak’ Isakara, nikomy taminy dia namely azy tao Gibetona, izay an’ ny Filistina (fa Nadaba sy ny Isiraely rehetra nanao fahirano an’ i Gibetona fahizay).
And Baasha, the son of Ahijah, of the family of Issachar, made a secret design against him, attacking him at Gibbethon, a town of the Philistines; for Nadab and the armies of Israel were making war on Gibbethon.
28 Ary Basa nahafaty azy tamin’ ny taona fahatelo nanjakan’ i Asa, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, ka dia nanjaka nisolo azy.
In the third year of the rule of Asa, king of Judah, Baasha put him to death, and became king in his place.
29 Ary rehefa nanjaka izy, dia namely ny mpianakavin’ i Jeroboama rehetra izy, ka tsy nasiany niangana ho an’ i Jeroboama na dia olona iray akory aza, fa naringany avokoa ireo araka ny tenin’ i Jehovah izay nampilazainy an’ i Ahia Silonita mpanompony,
And straight away when he became king, he sent destruction on all the offspring of Jeroboam; there was not one living person of all the family of Jeroboam whom he did not put to death, so the word of the Lord, which he said by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite, came about;
30 noho ny fahotana nataon’ i Jeroboama sady nampanotany ny Isiraely tamin’ izay nataony nampahatezitra an’ i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely.
Because of the sins which Jeroboam did and made Israel do, moving the Lord, the God of Israel, to wrath.
31 Ary ny tantaran’ i Nadaba sisa mbamin’ izay rehetra nataony, tsy efa voasoratra ao amin’ ny bokin’ ny tantaran’ ny mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely va izany?
Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all he did, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?
32 Ary niady Asa sy Basa, mpanjakan’ ny Isiraely, tamin’ ny andro rehetra niainany.
And there was war between Asa and Baasha, king of Israel, all their days.
33 Tamin’ ny taona fahatelo nanjakan’ i Asa, mpanjakan’ ny Joda, no vao nanjakan’ i Basa, zanak’ i Ahia, tamin’ ny Isiraely rehetra tao Tirza; ary mpanjaka efatra amby roa-polo taona izy.
In the third year of the rule of Asa, king of Judah, Baasha, the son of Ahijah, became king over all Israel in Tirzah, and was king for twenty-four years.
34 Ary nanao izay ratsy eo imason’ i Jehovah izy, fa nandeha tamin’ ny lalan’ i Jeroboama sy tamin’ ny fahotany izay nampanotany ny Isiraely.
He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, copying the evil ways of Jeroboam and the sin which he made Israel do.
