And it comes to pass after this, that David strikes the Philistines, and humbles them, and takes Gath and its small towns out of the hand of the Philistines;
2 Ary nandresy ny Moabita koa izy, ka dia tonga mpanompon’ i Davida nandoa hetra ireo.
and he strikes Moab, and the Moabites are servants to David, bringing a present.
3 Dia resin’ i Davida koa Hadarezera, mpanjakan’ i Zoba akaikin’ i Hamata, tamin’ izy lasa nampiorina ny fanjakany teo amoron’ ny ony Eofrata.
And David strikes Hadarezer king of Zobah, at Hamath, in his going to establish his power by the Euphrates River,
4 Ary Davida nahazo babo kalesy arivo taminy sy mpitaingin-tsoavaly fito arivo ary miaramila an-tongotra roa alina; ary notraingotraingoin’ i Davida avokoa ny soavalin-kalesy rehetra, fa ny tokony ho amin’ ny kalesy zato ihany no navelany.
and David captures from him one thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and David utterly destroys all the chariots, and leaves of them [only] one hundred chariots.
5 Ary nony tonga ny Syriana avy any Damaskosy hanampy an’ i Hadarezera, mpanjakan’ i Zoba, dia nahafatesan’ i Davida olona roa arivo sy roa alina ny Syriana.
And Aram of Damascus comes to give help to Hadarezer king of Zobah, and David strikes twenty-two thousand men in Aram,
6 Ary nisy namponenin’ i Davida tany Syria any Damaskosy; dia tonga mpanompon’ i Davida ny Syriana ka nandoa hetra. Fa Jehovah nampahery an’ i Davida teny amin’ izay rehetra nalehany.
and David puts [garrisons] in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans are for servants to David, carrying a present, and YHWH gives salvation to David wherever he has gone.
7 Ary nalain’ i Davida ny ampinga volamena teny amin’ ny mpanompon’ i Hadarezera ka nentiny nankany Jerosalema.
And David takes the shields of gold that have been on the servants of Hadarezer, and brings them to Jerusalem;
8 Ary tao Tibata sy Kona, tanànan’ i Hadarezera, no nahazoan’ i Davida babo varahina be dia be, ary izany no nanaovan’ i Solomona ilay tavin-drano varahina lehibe sy ny andry ary ny fanaka varahina.
and from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, David has taken very much bronze; with it Solomon has made the bronze sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of bronze.
9 Ary nony ren’ i Toy, mpanjakan’ i Hamata, fa Davida efa naharesy ny miaramila rehetra an’ i Hadarezera, mpanjakan’ i Zoba,
And Tou king of Hamath hears that David has struck the whole force of Hadarezer king of Zobah,
10 dia naniraka an’ i Hadorama zanany hankany amin’ i Davida mpanjaka izy hiarahaba sy hisaotra azy noho ny niadiany tamin’ i Hadarezera sy ny nahareseny azy (fa Hadarezera dia fahavalon’ i Toy), sady nampitondrainy fanaka volamena sy volafotsy ary varahina izay samy maro karazana izy.
and he sends his son Hadoram to King David, to ask of him of peace, and to bless him, because that he has fought against Hadarezer and strikes him (for Hadarezer had been a man of wars with Tou); and [with him were] all kinds of vessels, of gold, and silver, and bronze;
11 Dia nohamasinin’ i Davida mpanjaka ho an’ i Jehovah koa izany mbamin’ ny volafotsy sy ny volamena nentiny avy tamin’ ny firenena rehetra, dia tany Edoma sy Moaba sy ny taranak’ i Amona sy ny Filistina ary ny Amalekita
King David has also sanctified them to YHWH with the silver and the gold that he has taken from all the nations, from Edom, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
12 Ary Abisay, zanak’ i Zeroia, naharesy ny Edomita teo amin’ ny Lohasahan-tsira, dia lehilahy valo arivo sy iray alina.
And Abishai son of Zeruiah has struck Edom in the Valley of Salt—eighteen thousand,
13 Ary nametraka miaramila tany Edoma izy; dia tonga mpanompon’ i Davida ny Edomita rehetra. Fa Jehovah nampahery an’ i Davida teny amin’ izay rehetra nalehany.
and he puts garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites are servants to David; and YHWH saves David wherever he has gone.
14 Ary Davida nanjaka tamin’ ny Isiraely rehetra ka nitsara sy nitondra ny vahoakany rehetra tamin’ ny fahamarinana.
And David reigns over all Israel, and he is doing judgment and righteousness to all his people,
15 Ary Joaba, zanak’ i Zeroia, no komandin’ ny miaramila; ary Josafata, zanak’ i Ahiloda, no mpitadidy ny raharaham-panjakana.
and Joab son of Zeruiah [is] over the host, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud [is] remembrancer,
16 Ary Zadoka, zanak’ i Ahitoba, sy Abimeleka, zanak’ i Abiatara, no mpisorona; ary Saosa no mpanoratra.
and Zadok son of Ahitub and Abimelech son of Abiathar [are] priests, and Shavsha [is] scribe,
17 Ary Benaia, zanak’ i Joiada, no mpifehy ny miaramila mpiambina andriana; ary ny zanak’ i Davida no lehibe tamin’ izay nanolotra ny mpanjaka.
and Benaiah son of Jehoiada [is] over the Cherethite and the Pelethite, and the chief sons of David [are] at the hand of the king.
