< Tito 1 >
1 Pawulo omuweereza wa Katonda, era omutume wa Yesu Kristo ng’okukkiriza kw’abalonde ba Katonda bwe kuli n’okutegeera amazima agali mu kutya Katonda,
Paul, a servant of God—an apostle moreover of Jesus Christ, —according to the faith of the chosen ones of God, and the personal knowledge of the truth that is according to godliness, —
2 ebyesigamye ku kusuubira okw’obulamu obutaggwaawo, Katonda ow’amazima kwe yasuubiza ng’ebiro eby’emirembe n’emirembe tebinnabaawo, (aiōnios )
In hope of life age-abiding; which God, who cannot lie, promised before age-during times, (aiōnios )
3 naye mu ntuuko zaabyo, yayolesa ekigambo kye mu kubuulira Enjiri, kwe nateresebwa ng’ekiragiro kya Katonda Omulokozi waffe bwe kiri,
but hath manifested in its fitting seasons, even his word, in the proclamation with which entrusted am I—by injunction of our Saviour God:
4 eri Tito omwana wange ddala ng’okukkiriza kwaffe ffenna okwa awamu bwe kuli, n’ekisa n’emirembe ebiva eri Katonda Kitaffe ne Kristo Yesu omulokozi waffe.
Unto Titus, my true child according to a common faith, —favour and peace, from God [our] Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour.
5 Kyennava nkuleka mu Kuleete, olyoke otereeze ebyo ebyetaaga okutereeza, era otekewo n’abakadde b’ekkanisa mu buli kibuga, nga bwe nakulagira.
For this cause left I thee in Crete, that, the things remaining undone, thou mightest completely set in order, and mightest establish, in every city, elders, as, I, with thee arranged: —
6 Omuntu ateekwa okuba nga taliiko kya kunenyezebwa, nga musajja alina omukazi omu, era nga n’abaana baabwe bakkiriza, nga tebalina kibi kiyinza kuboogerwako era nga tebeenyigira mu bikolwa bya buseegu oba mu bujeemu.
If anyone is unaccusable, a husband of, one wife, having children that believe, who are not charged with riotous excess, nor insubordinate;
For it is needful that the overseer be—unaccusable, as God’s steward, not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, not ready to wound, not seeking gain by base means,
8 naye ayaniriza abagenyi, ayagala okukola obulungi, omutegeevu, nga mwenkanya, nga mutukuvu, era ng’amanyi okwefuga.
But hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, kind, possessing self-control,
9 Ateekwa okuba omuntu anywerera ku kigambo ekyesigwa, alyoke asobole okunnyonnyola abantu enjigiriza entuufu, n’okulaga obukyamu bw’abo abagiwakanya.
Holding fast, in the matter of his teaching, the faithful word, that he may be able both to encourage with his healthful instruction, and, the gainsayers, to refute.
10 Kubanga waliwo bangi abawakana, aboogera ebitaliimu era abalimba, n’okusingira ddala abo ab’omu bakomole.
For there are many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision, —
11 Basaanye okusirisibwa, kubanga boonoona buli maka, nga bayigiriza ebitabagwanidde, balyoke beefunire amagoba ag’obukuusa.
Whose mouths must needs be stopped, men who are upsetting whole houses, teaching the things which ought not [to be taught] —for the sake of base gain.
12 Omu ku bo, nnabbi waabwe bo kyeyava agamba nti, “Abakuleete balimba bulijjo, z’ensolo enkambwe, era ba mululu ate bagayaavu.”
Said one from among them, a prophet, of their own!—Cretans! always false, mischievous wild-beasts, idle gluttons:
13 Kye yagamba kya mazima. Noolwekyo oteekwa okubanenya n’amaanyi kiryoke kibaleetere okukkiriza okutuufu,
This witness, is true, —for which cause, be reproving them sharply, that they may be healthy in their faith,
14 balekeraawo okuwuliriza enfumo ez’Ekiyudaaya, n’ebiragiro abantu abakyama okuva ku mazima bye bagunja.
Not giving heed to Judaical stories and commandments of men who are turning away from the truth:
15 Eri abalongoofu, ebintu byonna biba birongoofu, naye eri abo abatali balongoofu n’abatakkiriza, tewaba kirongoofu na kimu. Kubanga amagezi gaabwe n’ebirowoozo byabwe byayonooneka.
All things, are pure, unto the pure, but, unto the polluted and faithless, nothing, is pure, but polluted are both their mind and conscience;
16 Bagamba nti bamanyi Katonda, naye mu bikolwa byabwe bamwegaana. Bagwenyufu era bajeemu, tebasaanira kuweebwa mulimu mulungi n’akatono.
God, they confess that they know, but, by their works, they deny him, being, abominable, and obdurate, and, as to any good work, found, worthless.
